We have heard sooo many good things about Frankie Slice and finally gave it a try tonight. I have to say - it exceeded expectations! The service was super fast and friendly - our pizza was ready within 10 minutes which is insanely fast for a Saturday night. After trying many pizza places around the North Shore, my husband and I both agree this is our favorite yet (by a LOT). Overpriced food. The food does not taste like it should for that what they charge you. There is a local pizza shop in Salem, that makes way better food for literally half the price. Sign at the register reads 10pm Friday Pulled up, lights on, people in the kitchen. Noone at the counter. Menu boards are on. We have been going to Frankie Slice for about a year. It doesn't matter if we eat there or do take out, the pizza is always fresh, hot and delicious. The crust has a great crisp to it but still soft and chewable. My husband and I always get the sausage and it's sooo good! We dined at F355 in the same space as Frankie Slice on Saturday evening with a group of 6. There was entertainment which was wonderful and we had cocktails and dinner. The cocktails were okay. We started with apps ~ meatballs, burrata salad and steak and cheese rolls they were all a hit for the table. Dinner was chicken piccata, a pasta dish with meatballs and sausage and steak tips which were all good portions which lead to left overs and some splitting meals. Onto the desserts....Frank the owner came over and spoke to us he was very friendly explaining the ingredients and high quality products he cooks with. He then proceeded to offer us some desserts to try and they were all amazing. This is for the F355 Restaurant, same owner, same location as Frankie Slice: I can't believe how lucky I was in discovering this place. Upon entering, the atmosphere was the first thing that jumped out at me. Both my dining companion and I remarked on it before we even sat down. The table layout is perfect to my way of the thinking. Then there's the color scheme, red and black--nice. The next thing that got my attention was the waitstaff. Two (young) woman handled the entire room by themselves (with a little help from the owner, but more on that later) and they never missed a beat. Not once did we have to wait for anything. It was like they had ESP. Every time I wanted to catch their attention, BOOM, one of 'em would look my way. This was a long way of saying the were, great, professional, and utterly charming. I can't give short shift to the food. It's what prompted me to write this review. We sampled the menu and had a few appetizers in lieu of a full dinner. They were all some of the best food I've had out in a very long time. We plan to go back soon to have the full dinner experience. Can't wait. Lastly, but certainly not least, the owner. Gracious, proud of his establishment (as he should be), pleasant, and an all around nice guy. He worked the room like the pro that he is. I know this review sounds like the owner wrote it himself. This place is just a little odd. I have had very good pizza from them, and pizza that was burnt on the bottom (not "char", I mean burnt) which made me feel like it is a crap shoot when i go. Their regular pizza is better than their Sicilian, as the Sicilian is cooked in a disposable aluminum pan. Left the pizza a bit doughy compared to others that use steel or cast iron. I was not greeted by any of the employees while I waited at the counter to be helped. The counter person helped the person in front of me and then went to another area to prepare some food for another customer but did not acknowledge me standing and waiting for my order. After a few minutes she came back and told me she would be right with me. Right with me? I've already been standing here for a few minutes before anyone even asked if they could help me. There were other people/owners there, but they were too busy socializing to help the counter person. Finally got my pizzas and brought them home to try with my family.
