The restaurant is very family-friendly, and the staff was attentive throughout our meal. The portions are big--a single bowl of pasta could easily feed two people! Food & Drinks: Lemon Martini: Loved that they brought this out and poured it fresh at the table so it stayed perfectly chilled. Chicken & Veggies: Hands down my favorite dish of the night. Pasta: My boyfriend's mother and boyfriend both had pasta and said it was very good. Accessibility: Something I noticed--which is just as important as the food--is how accessible the space is. They have dedicated parking and a ramp, making it very easy for anyone using a wheelchair or walker. We'll definitely be back! read more

Finally made it to Polcari's and ordered a large half cheese, half garlic, tomato, basil & feta pizza, chicken broccoli & ziti, and toasted raviolis. Service was excellent! I ran back into the restaurant to get an itemized receipt, and before the door even closed, Anthony at the front, welcomed me with "Wassa matta?" which was charming & I REALLY appreciated that he was on top of fixing whatever I needed right away. You don't often find hospitality like that anymore. The pizza, pasta & raviolis were all great. They make the chicken, broccoli & ziti the right way, with butter & garlic, not alfredo, which is in fact, the wrong way. It was delicious the day of & after for leftovers. The toasted raviolis weren't as toasted after driving 30 min but were still good, might need to pop them in an oven if you're getting takeout. Pizza was great! Total was $76 though. pizza 10/10 chicken, broccoli & ziti 9.5/10 toasted raviolis 9/10 Polcari's is a north shore staple & solid choice for classic Italian food. ambiance: 4.5/5 food: 4.8/5 service: 5/5 polcari's restaurant: 4.8/5 read more

Amazing food! Grabbed dinner and took home. The portion sizes were enough for two and leftovers for a snack. Service was good. The ambiance is casual to business casual. Depending on your preference. If I could eat more dairy, I'd definitely try many more options. Unfortunately, I was a bit limited. The lemon cake was okay, not what I expected. It wasn't as pungent with lemon or very sweet. ‍ Again, depends on your preference. The broccoli was really good. I didn't need to add anything! read more

Tough to give a review, on the one hand the food and service was great, but, then on the other hand a real Italian restaurant should serve bread and dipping oil while we wait for our meal. Polcari's management claims it was Covid that changed their bread policy. Being authentic Italian doesn't change because of a pandemic that happened over 6years ago. The restaurant owners realized some extra pennies in profit, and now don't want to give it up. My point is had the owners tried this stunt upon first opening their original operation it would have surely been a failure. Today, it's just sad that being a real Italian restaurant for Polcari's is out of reach because a few Pennie's of profit is so much more important. Please get real, and get back to your roots Polcari's.. read more

We tried here based on its rating online, but it did not reflect our experience. The bar was completely empty but the bartender offered no conversation or suggestions on the menu. The Caesar salad was average, and half of the toasted ravioli we ordered had been over cooked and had virtually no cheese left in them. For a main dish we ordered the fettuccine Alfredo and it was pretty tasteless. We added a good amount of condiments to flavor it up. Maybe we were 'over expecting' for somewhat of a chain restaurant, but we would drive an extra 20 minutes next time to try something local. read more

Stopped on my way home to NH because we miss our Boston Pizza. They sell Regina's so I was excited to stop in. The pizza was delicious and I'm so glad I called. We got the large cheese and a small extra cheese with pepperoni. Employees were super friendly and the restaurant looked nice, I'll stay for lunch next time for sure. Thanks, this is my new place to stop for pizzas on my way home. Thank you! read more

It's actually sad, since we have always loved our family's experience here. They've done away with the fun decor, and it looks so austere and generic now, but it is clean. They've done away with the bread and oil, (but they did away with it a few years ago), and that was something that set Polcaris apart. So that's gone. Now for today's experience: it was "meh" at best. One of our diners nearly lost it at the table when a glass of water she was drinking had something really disgusting in it, like fabric or whatever it was. When we told our server about it, and even when the manager came by later on, they didn't offer her anything; we had to ask for a new glass! And the server didn't even bring it out for a long while, or another bottle of Pellegrino that we had asked for, since we had to get rid of the one our family member was drinking! It was bad. We asked for oil with the garlic bread that we had to order, and we had to ask for it twice, since it never came out. The Caesar salad was just okay. The eggplant rollatini was delicious though, and the pasta dishes were all really good. Wow, though, it was so expensive. No alcohol was consumed, but our meal came to $175 (PLUS $30 TIP) for four people who only drank sparkling water. We had ordered dessert but it never came out so we asked for the bill. We had long finished our espressos (we had ordered four but only three espressos came out) that we wanted to have with the dessert. But then ten minutes later it was brought out to the table as we were getting up to leave. It was messed up. No apologies for making one of the diners in our party sick to her stomach with debris in the water glass. (And turning the stomachs of the rest of us, too, meanwhile, who witnessed it.) No attempt to check in with us. A family arrived after us and left way before us, and it wasn't very crowded but for a large table in the same room and a few scattered other tables that came and went. And we spoke to the manager that came around checking on tables, and we spoke in a professional way, but he didn't do anything to make things good, either. As an aside, he also said the bread and oil that used to come out before meals wasn't his decision to make and he didn't have any power to change it. So it's never coming back, obviously, in other words. It was a quality of life point that once made the experience so much better. It was so upsetting because we have always loved Polcaris but it has changed since we were last there as a family around two years ago. So unaffordable, too. It breaks my heart, actually. read more

Thanks for another great meal and time at Polcari's Saugus. We were greeted with a smile and hello and led to our comfortable table by the nice young man host. Gianni was our server and he was ten stars, as usual. He quickly took our order and expedited the delicious (and hot!) meals. He checked on us to make sure all was well. The Lasagna and the Eggplant Parm were delicious. The wine, soda, and coffee also excellent. We had a good time. Nice to see Anthony, the manager, as well as the young woman asst. mgr. while we were there. They asked if we had a pleasant time and good food. Sajeda, and the other wonderful servers, also make for a great time and care that the customers are happy. Thank you, and see you soon.. read more

Always a classic Massachusetts experience. This spot on Route 1 is full of locals, date-nights, birthday celebrations... and the combo of good old-fashioned, no-frills Italian food and North End-style pizza at a reasonable price. A creative seasonal drink menu on my most recent visit delivered some real winners, too: a holiday cosmo (with added prosecco bubbles) and a gussied up Old Fashioned were both delicious! The new Chicken Parm pizza wasn't quite as good as I hoped. Chicken a little overcooked and flavor a little missing. But overall a great night out with super friendly service all around. read more

My wife and I ordered takeout this afternoon -- a large cheese pizza and a large Greek salad. The pizza was delicious as always, no complaints there. Unfortunately, the Greek salad was the complete opposite. It was inedible. The lettuce and other greens were wilted, soggy, and mushy, and the dressing wasn't much better. We ended up throwing the entire salad away. How a restaurant could let a salad in that condition leave the kitchen is beyond me. Extremely disappointing, and frankly unacceptable, especially from a place that usually does so well with its food. read more

We have to go out of our way to get here, but worth it, if for one reason the stellar and addictive eggplant rollattini, perfect every single time. Another big draw is Regina's pizza but they only have one of the three flavored oils that Boston Regina's has, but still very good-too good, don't fill up before your order arrives. I appreciate that they have veal piccata and veal Marsala-not enough Italian restaurants have these two options imo. The guy said it was best lasagna he's ever had in a restaurant. Note that soups and salads are fine, but hard to compete with eggplant, which I didn't really love until I tried it here. I don't love these and wish entree prices (esp for veal) but remember that they have a big selection of lunch specials. Atmosphere is casual, but not too casual. Plenty of space when you're seated, and service is always fine. Plenty of parking. Five stars for great fresh nicely prepared food and good ingredients read more

They cannot make good pizza and intentionally screw it up if they know who you are from before to send you away permanently. For extra sauce, they dump a cup In the middle of your pizza on top of the cheese. Or, when told not to do that, they intentionally put sparse tomato chunks under cheese. Going to Polcari's my expectations were high because this is the place where me and my bride had our rehearsal dinner. My expectations were met almost everything was as good as 8 years ago. Minus one thing... they no longer have the Bread & Oil they used to serve complimentary. Instead you have to order their garlic bread with marinara. While the garlic bread was okay... it wasn't as exceptional as the bread & oil they used to have and that was worth deducting one star from the review. My Sweet Sausage cavatappi was as perfect as it was during the meal I had scouting this place out My kids enjoyed their respective kids meals. The fries were perfect. My wife got rosemary ham Bianca pizza and she enjoyed it. The Waitress Julia was an A+ + She got our drinks just as we needed them and was very engaging and came often to check up on us. So I came to rant & rave and totally forgot that I had even wrote a review forever ago!... so I have been coming to Polcari's alot lately because I got hooked on the Shrimp Scampi (it gives me life) however you need to get it on the Cavatappi with extra sauce (I could bathe in it.. ok Im bordering on TMI - Sorry!) So Ive been a few times with the Sister in law who is my Foodie partner in crime, but I went recently with my mother and she wanted the Pork chop and we were talking about it and how great it used to be only to find out, THEY NO LONGER HAVE THE PORK CHOP... WTF?! How can you do us like that, so we asked our waiter about it (who happened to be the best waiter ever - I think his name was Anthony, not sure) so yeah, he told me they took it off the menu and that others have asked, so Im here to start a campaign... #BringBackThePorkChop! Who can I call? There has to be a guy? What's his name? Someone get me in touch with the guy or the guy behind the guy... Ooh and it wont stop me from coming because that Scampi but Yeah, the pork chop and also last trip I got the Mussels and they are Delish also, I am literally going to come tomorrow now because Im drooling writing this review. But yes, Polcari's Ill give you 5 stars if you bring back the Pork Chop! But dont ever take the Scampi off the menu or we will FIGHT!!! read more

The pizza here is outstanding. Service was excellent. Worth the commute to Saugus from New Hampshire

On July 5th, 2024, Friday we went to a Pizza Restaurant named Polcari's Italian American Pizzeria Regina. This restaurant was located at 92 Broadway, Saugus, MA 01906. This location had plenty of parking outside on the side of their restaurant. When we walked into the Restaurant place looked very nice and the hostess welcomed us and offered her services as we introduced ourselves and we told her we made reservations for a party of 7/8 peeps. When we sat down, we met our waitress Sajada who was a spunky young lady. She was very tentative; she did welcome us with her infectious smile and asked us if we were new to the restaurant and we did say yes, we were. She asked us what we would like to drink and got all our drinks, water, and soda. She explained the pizza menu to us and boy o boy there was a lot of pizza variety to choose from. Sajada mentioned the famous chicken tenders that it was their top seller. And she was right, it was soooooooo good. We were a party of 8 people, and they were able to find a nice long table to accommodate us. SaJada explained the menu to us, and we placed our order. Everything sounded soooooo yummy! She was excellent from the initial contact to the end of our dinner experience. We reside in Florida, and I flew to Boston to see a sick relative and meet up with some family and wanted to spend a little time with them. We decided to go eat and relax and enjoy a good dinner. My Cousin looked this place up on google maps since we were close and wanted to eat some pizza. This restaurant was amazing. You can't compare Florida pizza to Boston pizza. But I would like to let your restaurant know that this young lady exceeded our expectations. She was FABULOUS. We also asked her if she could take pictures of the table with our cell phone, and she did. She made our experience a memorable one. Please commend her for her SPECTACULAR Customer Centricity! JADA you Rock thank you so much. A must visit, Family Restaurant, create your memories and ask for this spunky young lady named SaJada read more

My family and I love polcaris we go there often but apparently not on Friday nights. The blonde older woman bartender was angry at us from the second we walked in because we were taking the spots of her "Friday regulars." It was the absolute rudest most degrading service I've ever experienced at a restaurant. Our bill was $800 and she told us it was "getting too high" so we need to cash out. Management should also wait to let her know about the complaints received so when she's smashing dishes and talking badly about the customers, they don't hear and see it. We will take out $800+ dinners elsewhere. Thanks, Polcaris. (Specifically the old angry crotchety blonde bartender.) Great pizza tho! read more

Had a surprise birthday party for my younger brother ,great time, friendly staff, we all enjoyed the food as well,

On Dec. 23, around 7 pm, there was a woman behind the cash register that was absolutely rude and gave me the impression customer service was an inconvenience to her. She lied about rewards. She gave me the incorrect receipt. She failed to put gift card receipts in the gift cards and when I prompted her, she aggressively took the cards and swiped them and stuffed the receipts in the gift card jacket. When I noticed a bonus Christmas gift card was missing, she insisted she gave it to me and lied again. I asked for a full receipt and she said she gave it to me for which she did not. She then reached in the trash and gave me the establishment copy that was crumbled up. Hey Polcari - I have worked at restaurants on Route 1 at the front of the house and you need to get rid of her. I've been eating here since dirt was invented! Excellent place, great service, wonderful waitstaff and the food, espeically the pizza, is just stunning. I last went here yesterday, Thursday, August 25th. The Marherita pizza was just so delish. I love the soda's in the glass bottles, even though, of course, you don't get the free refills with them. My favorite is the Root Beer, which is one of the best around here. The decor is beautiful and their bathrooms are always immaculate. I returned to the Saugus restaurant after a year away to find the prices had increased and the portions had decreased. I was a regular customer prior and all was great never left hungry. A few years back you stopped the complimentary bread and oil. Today I returned spent $85.00 and left hungry. I understand prices have gone up but why cut the portions.
