Always a classic Massachusetts experience. This spot on Route 1 is full of locals, date-nights, birthday celebrations... and the combo of good old-fashioned, no-frills Italian food and North End-style pizza at a reasonable price. A creative seasonal drink menu on my most recent visit delivered some real winners, too: a holiday cosmo (with added prosecco bubbles) and a gussied up Old Fashioned were both delicious! The new Chicken Parm pizza wasn't quite as good as I hoped. Chicken a little overcooked and flavor a little missing. But overall a great night out with super friendly service all around. read more

My wife and I ordered takeout this afternoon -- a large cheese pizza and a large Greek salad. The pizza was delicious as always, no complaints there. Unfortunately, the Greek salad was the complete opposite. It was inedible. The lettuce and other greens were wilted, soggy, and mushy, and the dressing wasn't much better. We ended up throwing the entire salad away. How a restaurant could let a salad in that condition leave the kitchen is beyond me. Extremely disappointing, and frankly unacceptable, especially from a place that usually does so well with its food. read more

Massive portions, perfect for a cozy comfort meal. Service was a bit slow but friendly. A North Shore staple worth trying once. We went with friends so we sampled a bunch of appetizers. For an entree, I had the lasagna which was big enough for a full second meal of leftovers. read more

My family and I go there quite a bit on each other's birthdays the antipasto is more than enough for maybe four or five people and you'll be bringing some home. Also my daughter and I like their Mediterranean pizza it's vegan, but it is so good. Give it a try. read more

Going to Polcari's my expectations were high because this is the place where me and my bride had our rehearsal dinner. My expectations were met almost everything was as good as 8 years ago. Minus one thing... they no longer have the Bread & Oil they used to serve complimentary. Instead you have to order their garlic bread with marinara. While the garlic bread was okay... it wasn't as exceptional as the bread & oil they used to have and that was worth deducting one star from the review. My Sweet Sausage cavatappi was as perfect as it was during the meal I had scouting this place out My kids enjoyed their respective kids meals. The fries were perfect. My wife got rosemary ham Bianca pizza and she enjoyed it. The Waitress Julia was an A+ + She got our drinks just as we needed them and was very engaging and came often to check up on us. My family and I love polcaris we go there often but apparently not on Friday nights. The blonde older woman bartender was angry at us from the second we walked in because we were taking the spots of her "Friday regulars." It was the absolute rudest most degrading service I've ever experienced at a restaurant. Our bill was $800 and she told us it was "getting too high" so we need to cash out. Management should also wait to let her know about the complaints received so when she's smashing dishes and talking badly about the customers, they don't hear and see it. We ordered a salad, spaghetti, a pizza & a meatball calzone. After 30 mins the waitress toped by applogizing for the delay, as most of the tables around us were served. She said the kitchen was backed up. After 45 mins she stopped by & I told her the experience was one of the worst, as we watched the owner haul 20 takeout orders past our table. She explained that the calzone was taking a lot longer (which makes no sense. It's a folded pizza) at the hr mark the owner stopped by, barely apologized and noted another 5 mins on the calzone. He started bring the four items out but offered no explanation of the delay & did not offer to take anything off the bill. Horrible experience. read more

On July 5th, 2024, Friday we went to a Pizza Restaurant named Polcari's Italian American Pizzeria Regina. This restaurant was located at 92 Broadway, Saugus, MA 01906. This location had plenty of parking outside on the side of their restaurant. When we walked into the Restaurant place looked very nice and the hostess welcomed us and offered her services as we introduced ourselves and we told her we made reservations for a party of 7/8 peeps. When we sat down, we met our waitress Sajada who was a spunky young lady. She was very tentative; she did welcome us with her infectious smile and asked us if we were new to the restaurant and we did say yes, we were. She asked us what we would like to drink and got all our drinks, water, and soda. She explained the pizza menu to us and boy o boy there was a lot of pizza variety to choose from. Sajada mentioned the famous chicken tenders that it was their top seller. And she was right, it was soooooooo good. We were a party of 8 people, and they were able to find a nice long table to accommodate us. SaJada explained the menu to us, and we placed our order. Everything sounded soooooo yummy! She was excellent from the initial contact to the end of our dinner experience. We reside in Florida, and I flew to Boston to see a sick relative and meet up with some family and wanted to spend a little time with them. We decided to go eat and relax and enjoy a good dinner. My Cousin looked this place up on google maps since we were close and wanted to eat some pizza. This restaurant was amazing. You can't compare Florida pizza to Boston pizza. But I would like to let your restaurant know that this young lady exceeded our expectations. She was FABULOUS. We also asked her if she could take pictures of the table with our cell phone, and she did. She made our experience a memorable one. Please commend her for her SPECTACULAR Customer Centricity! So I came to rant & rave and totally forgot that I had even wrote a review forever ago!... so I have been coming to Polcari's alot lately because I got hooked on the Shrimp Scampi (it gives me life) however you need to get it on the Cavatappi with extra sauce (I could bathe in it.. ok Im bordering on TMI - Sorry!) So Ive been a few times with the Sister in law who is my Foodie partner in crime, but I went recently with my mother and she wanted the Pork chop and we were talking about it and how great it used to be only to find out, THEY NO LONGER HAVE THE PORK CHOP... WTF?! How can you do us like that, so we asked our waiter about it (who happened to be the best waiter ever - I think his name was Anthony, not sure) so yeah, he told me they took it off the menu and that others have asked, so Im here to start a campaign... #BringBackThePorkChop! Who can I call? There has to be a guy? What's his name? Someone get me in touch with the guy or the guy behind the guy... Ooh and it wont stop me from coming because that Scampi but Yeah, the pork chop and also last trip I got the Mussels and they are Delish also, I am literally going to come tomorrow now because Im drooling writing this review. But yes, Polcari's Ill give you 5 stars if you bring back the Pork Chop! But dont ever take the Scampi off the menu or we will FIGHT!!! read more

On Dec. 23, around 7 pm, there was a woman behind the cash register that was absolutely rude and gave me the impression customer service was an inconvenience to her. She lied about rewards. She gave me the incorrect receipt. She failed to put gift card receipts in the gift cards and when I prompted her, she aggressively took the cards and swiped them and stuffed the receipts in the gift card jacket. When I noticed a bonus Christmas gift card was missing, she insisted she gave it to me and lied again. I asked for a full receipt and she said she gave it to me for which she did not. She then reached in the trash and gave me the establishment copy that was crumbled up. Hey Polcari - I have worked at restaurants on Route 1 at the front of the house and you need to get rid of her. I returned to the Saugus restaurant after a year away to find the prices had increased and the portions had decreased. I was a regular customer prior and all was great never left hungry. A few years back you stopped the complimentary bread and oil. Today I returned spent $85.00 and left hungry. I understand prices have gone up but why cut the portions. A Mgr stopped by the table asked how everything was I expressed my concern and he replied "OH IM SORRY" AND WALKED AWAY. My husband and I have been going to Polcari's once a week for 27 years. We have had family functions there and celebrated many family birthdays there. The past couple of years due to management changes we have seen a shift. Due to our regularity, the long time servers are like family. We have watched those loyal and hard working people go one by one or be pushed to leave. You may have the very best pizza but our family and close friends will learn to live without it. It's the customer service and relationships made that make the experience special. They can't keep a third manager and every week it seems like knew servers because they can't keep help. Wake up management! You've lost over a dozen customers this time. read more

Polcari's is great! Our server was super kind, friendly and attentive. She even clarified how we want the meals to be brought out to us, we ordered entrees but we always try the pizza wherever we go. That takes longer so we had the entree brought out first! Our entrees were super good! I got the Baked Four Cheese Penne with (2) meatballs and my boyfriend got the Vodka Penne. They were both sooo good. We also got the Bruschetta (we ate that so fast I got no photos) and a Small Proscuitto Con Spinaci! It was all sooo good! read more

I give it a three for the Pizza (5), because I give it a one (1) for the rest of the food. This used to be a great place, but the last two times I have been there, first I ordered chicken tenders, which were always homemade and incredicle, but they changed to frozen flat store bought chicken tenders. Then I got a lasagna with meatballs and extra sauce. Well there was NO sauce and it was a dry old piece of lasagna. The meatballs were hard and meatballs without sauce are a joke. I will buy a pizza again but nothing else until the place decides it wants to a go to place again read more

The rolls and oil with spices were great, the calamari appetizer was good, portion size was very skimpy though and the waitress was quick and to the point. That's it. Now it goes bad. I had shrimp scampi with linguine which was inedible. I could not for the life of me identify what else was on that plate other then the shrimp. Some kind of thick congealed substance and triangles of possibly pita bread? I'm not sure but I was hungry so I wiped off some of the shrimp and ate them, after around 4, I gave up. The linguine was on another plate and I think it had some of the same sauce but I ate some from the top. Once I wasn't starving, I couldn't eat it anymore. My son had the ravioli and added meatballs, we were starving after a long day in the car so we ordered a lot of food. His plate was huge but he only ate a few bites. He said the ravioli was ok, the meatballs was bad and the sauce was also bad. See the pictures, the sauce was separated and had water around it. I've actually never seen that before. My daughter had eggplant and she said it tasted like it was from frozen. Her sauce was also separated, tomatoes and water. So we ordered dessert, not our best decision lol! Chocolate torrone cake and Spumoni, both really bad. Torrone was a pile of nuts held together with a chocolate like substance, the vanilla ice cream was good though and the spumoni had a sauce that tasted like straight up cough medicine. Been visiting Polcari's for the last 30 years and tonight's visit will be the last. Within 2 minutes of parking in the pick up parking space out front my vehicle was hit with a rock. This rock was thrown by a child from a party of 12-15 leaving the restaurant. I told them family I needed to talk with them about this as I was walking in to pick up a pizza. The entire family scattered in less then 2 minutes inside the restaurant. The hostess/ manager on duty tonight refused to give me the name of the party or anytime of contact info they may have had. They also refused to give any security footage without a police report filed. This incident occurred at 8:30PM on Thursday evening 5/30. Polcari's staff and management have no respect for their guests, guests property, or the idea of customer service. Disappointed is an understatement. read more

Wow where to start. First off waitress was wonderful and the food came out quickly... It's been about a yr since I've been back. They've remodeled and basically took all the nostalgia out... now it looks like an Applebees. Menu is definitely smaller. Went for my favorite dish and noticed they are using a different sauce now, it wasn't bad but it was blah...and I figured this far out from covid they would have the bread and dipping oil back..but no.... Me and friend went last week he got pizza I got meatball calzone. Calzone was bland meatballs in the calzone were sliced paper thin and there was no sauce in calzone also usually comes with a side of marinara sauce but what I got was more of a stewed tomato sauce not good at all. Would never get their calzone again but the pizza was good. read more

Sojada and crew were awesome, service was phenomenall and fast. My whipped cream on my mudslide was a work of art. Definitely going back.

One of our favorite places to get pizza. Regina's pizza is legendary in the Boston areas and we often go to this one.
