Not good. We used to get pizza from there fairly often, so I decided to give it another try. The crust was terrible, and the Anna's special was literally covered in chopped garlic (stuff from a jar). Plus, it was surprisingly pricey. Buffalo chicken and pepperoni were equally bad. Vesuvius or Volos are so much better. Barstool's review was way off... perhaps Portnoy should stick to delivering newspapers. read more

Wow, good thing some things don't change. We we're heading to the airport and stopped in for a cheesesteak. The steak was fresh, tasty, full of meat and not a trace of grease. I grew up locally and was at Cindy's weekly 50 years ago... fantastic sandwich, great value and they actually remember my dad a local teacher and department chairman at the high school. I travel back frequently and absolutely will include Cindy 's in my must go food spot. read more

Definitely one of the good examples of excellent standard Boston Pizza right in the middle of a residential neighbourhood and very supportive of the neighbourhood and supported by the neighbourhood and that's what I like to see, and they let the kids of the area hang out here which is awesome. Definitely a good slice which is definitely worth 5 stars and dirt cheap. But if you eat too many slices for too many weeks in a row, you won't look like Cindy Crawford anymore. Haven't ordered from them in well over 10 years. Recently saw a local review and figured why not, it's been forever. Some things never change! Delivery over 30 minutes late, no longer answering phone because they are now closed so, you can't check on your order. After another 15-20 minutes we get a call that driver got a flat and someone will be there in 10 or so minutes to grab the delivery orders. We are asked if we still wanted our food, we decided to cancel because at that point food will be ice cold. Driver was fine with cancellation but asked we wanted a refund. The entire experience was awful but asking if we want a refund was just bizarre. read more

I drive by this place so often I figured I would take a chance and try it out always a supporter of small local business. We got the steak tip sub and let me say that the bread was the freshest I have ever had for a sub from any place, we got the Chrissy's pizza and we also got the Nunzio pizza. Cindy's is an under appreciated gem in Swampscott. I feel like their pizza in particular is under appreciated. Having grown up in Italy, I know what a proper pizza crust tastes and feel like. Trust me when I tell you that Cindy's got it right. It's obvious they take great care in selecting ingredients to duplicate authentic Italian pizza. Their crust, for example, appears to be made with authentic Semolina flour. The way they let the dough rise in the oven seems to be well thought out by controlling the temperature during the baking process. If you are looking for a game day pizza, this could certainly do the job but you'd be overlooking the simplicity in artisanal baking that goes into this pizza. This is NOT a cheap, greasy pizza to inhale while drinking your coors lite. If that's what you're looking for there are plenty of options around town. If, however, you are looking to wash down a tasty authentic style italian pizza with a Peroni or your favorite small brew IPA or white belgian, then look no further. read more

Delivery was very quick, I ordered the Mac balls, which I've been dying to try. We also ordered a large cheese zaa with ricotta cheese(bc cheese). The Mac balls made a confusing impression, at first I was hesitant, but I soon found myself finishing all of them off. This pizzeria reminds of an Italian pizza joint by my house in Jersey growing up (not shore Jersey! North Jersey!). My best friend and I would walk home from middle school every day and sometimes we'd stop by and grab a slice of freshly made Brooklyn style pizza with a wonderful thin, chewy crust and melting cheese. Thank you Cindy's for rekindling that part of my childhood! Cindy's cheese pizza (no toppings) is simple and delicious. You can taste the acidity of the tomato and the lightness of the crust. While the cheese is probably a mozzarella blend instead of hand-pulled homemade mozzarella, it is the closest to a tristate style pizza I have found since coming to Boston. It's best to eat the entire pizza hot, but it is also delicious for a midnight snack. The slices don't feel heavy going down so take care to share and not eat the entire pie by yourself (like I have wanted to)! Also good are their hot subs, which are extremely cheap for the amount of food and the QUALITY. They have an amazing steak and cheese sub as one Yelper already reviewed: no peppers or onions here, just simply thin sliced steak cooked with quality cheese, resulting in a wedding of melting cheesy goodness and juicy steak! So good! Also good is their cheeseburger sub (which comes with two patties!) and apparently their ham bomb (I never had it but my fiance really likes it). Since we literally live down the street, it takes some self control not to order from there all the time. One good deterrence is that it would be too lazy of me to try to get them to deliver to my door, a block away from their shop. Oh what a double edged sword! Also, the food is probably not too healthy to eat daily. PS - if you are really cheap and don't want to pay $10 for a quality pizza (and it is definitely worth the money), you can get coupons online. We decided on pizza but didn't want to travel far, so we paid our second visit to Cindy's. There's nothing fancy about the place, which makes for a straightforward dining experience: tonight it was a large pizza (pepperoni, mushroom, pineapple) and two bottled sodas. The pizza is just how I like it, with a crisp to the crust but a bit chewy on the topping side. The help is friendly and familiar as befits a neighborhood place, complete with the occasional gaggle of high schoolers dropping by for a quick order of chicken fingers and fries. There's a pretty comprehensive menu of subs and grilled items, as well as some pasta dishes. Maybe next time we branch out beyond a pie... but for now, pizza it is! read more

Had a terrible experience ordering from Cindy's Pizza &subs tonight. At 610pm, I made my delivery order of a large 1/2 marinated chicken and 1/2 cheese with onion rings for my 2 year old daughter so I wouldn't have to take her across town.I was told an hour delivery wait which I was okay with. Hour goes by, hour and a half goes by and I call to see where my order was and girl on the other end of the phone said it'll be there shortly well half hour isn't shortly. Long story short, pizza came almost 2 hours after order time, burnt, hard, terrible crust and cold sauce. In this 2 hour duration my toddler kept repeating pizza, pizza, pizza louder and louder and louder. Resulted in chicken nuggets by 730 and almost didn't eat them. Lastly, very expensive maybe prices have gone up because of covid-19 but 26.88 for a large pizza and onion rings. Seriously. But hey, will be my last time ordering from cindys. We had Cindy's pizza for the first time this evening. A large with peppers, olives and mushrooms. The ingredients were very fresh, the sauce was tasty, not cloying or sharp, and the thin crust had excellent flavor. I thought it was priced very reasonably. The folks weren't particularly friendly, but maybe they take a while to warm up to strangers. I definitely will be back for pizza again, and subs too, no doubt. read more
