The food was good, BUT... We had a large group of folks that had preordered their food from a pared down menu. When we arrived, they didn't do a great job of getting each person what they'd ordered. Some of us never got our dessert, even though it had been paid for. Employees on site were unable to make satisfactory adjustments (like how about you comp my cocktail because I didn't get my dessert?). This place offers a nice menu and the food is good, though a little pricey. We were seated quickly and the restaurant was probably less than a quarter full. Despite that and despite multiple servers passing our table, no one came to get our drink orders for about ten minutes. The staff was polite but reserved and not friendly. Our food was nice. But we had to ask for napkins and cutlery after our food was served. We also had to ask for a kids menu and were told they don't print one. Service was quick, friendly and our waters never went without being filled quickly and our finished plates were cleared in an extremely timely manner. I highly recommend this place. The minute we sat down, we were warmly welcomed by Julie the bartender. We never went thirsty, and the food was delicious. I had the Cali burger and my fiancé had the clam chowder & egg rolls. He says the chowder is the best he's ever had!!! My burger was moist and well-portioned - delicious. The Witchside tavern accepted my reservation weeks in advance and it was honored when my party of 10 arrived. That was the best part of the Witchside. The food and service were ok. We went to Salem in September on a Saturday and apparently that town is a complete and total mess. There was nowhere at all to park - and downtown was closed off for a festival of some sort. I dropped my party off while I drove around forever to park- and when I finally did arrive the food was just arriving for the party 30 minutes after being seated. Food was good. Service slow. A group of 4 of us had breakfast here the morning before our wedding. There are lots of places to choose from in Salem, but this one called to me and I'm so glad we stopped in. The food was presented well, looked and tasted great. My friend got the Caesar wrap and fries, and was pleased. I sampled her fries - crispy and seasoned. My salad was delicious, could've used a tad more dressing but that's on me for not asking. Watch out for the olives, too, they weren't pitted. I went here with my husband, sister, and her boyfriend. We ordered drinks and an appetizer right away, and those came out great. Unfortunately, when it came to our meals, the experience completely fell apart. Our server never entered our food order, and we sat for about an hour and a half without receiving anything. When we tried to flag her down, she was nowhere to be found. Not only were we left waiting and ultimately had to leave hungry, but no one offered an apology or any type of compensation for the wasted time. This was a very disappointing experience, especially since we were excited to try this place.
