Nice place. Just off the main road, small parking lot but there were spaces available. There are four low tables and 6 high top tables. The menu has a lot of variety from pizzas and calzones to hit and cold sandwiches to appetizers and desserts. The staff were fairly friendly, food came out quick, and everything was delicious. GROSS! They lured us in for the Friday night special of 2 large Cheese Pizzas for $14. We also ordered some other things, including a steak and cheese. A few weeks ago, the first steak and cheese was super soggy and cold as long as the rest of the food which was cold when delivered. I'm not 12 complain or live life like that so I let it go and then it happened the second and third week as well though the third week the food was warm but the sub was soggy. Friday. I called an order in once again and I spoke with the guy on the phone and very respectfully. And kindly told him that the last few times the subs were totally drenched in fat juice or something and that it was undesirable. I kindly and specifically asked that the sub be delivered NOT soggy. Within 5 minutes of getting at home, it was honestly like taking a kitchen rag, and dunking it underwater! DISGUSTING AND UNEDIBLE!! At face value, very similar to your local pizza joint but I would rate it above average. Very good, nice and clean place to have lunch in. A little bit pricey but the flavor and quality justifies it in my opinion. I had the Steak Tip Caesar Wrap and what I good surprise. Been eating here for years. I've gone in a couple times recently and got the same thing, large sub sandwich. It felt like the sub was a small instead of a large, and was somewhere in the neighborhood of $12. I got the same thing a few days later to make sure the size was correct. It would appear that both the prices have gone up and portions have gone down. Shrinkflation has struck this local pizza joint. If you look at their webpage it no longer lists the prices and says "prices are subject to change, call store for current prices". This isn't fresh caught lobster or truffles picked from the forest today, we're talking roast beef and steak and cheeses here. I'll need to find a new local sub shop from now on. read more

I've never had a bad experience here. I've tried everything from roast beers to chicken kabobs and pizza, but was recently turned on to their BBQ chicken pizza and dear God is it AMAZING. Do NOT skip the onions ;) Customer service is great and in a time and age where customer service is seemingly lacking, it's refreshing to be treated like a guest as opposed to an annoyance. The people here don't even understand the food they are serving. When someone orders a buffalo ANYTHING, you should be giving them blue cheese dressing instead of the house dressing. Every other sub shop in the area seems to understand this. I shouldn't have to ask for it. This place continues to disappoint. Recently changed hands. I went in today and got two buffalo chicken salads. The prices have increased and the salads were very very small -- almost half the size the prior owner was serving. I mentioned this to the guy working the counter and asked if they had sizes now, and if I should have ordered a larger one (despite the price being the same). He was very very short with me. Said "No, that's what we serve." Overall, not impressed and won't return. It was really great before but I can't say the same for the new owners. I found them rude and really don't feel the product was worth the cost. Taste was also mediocre. read more

I was in there tonight and the man behind the grill was so rude to a fellow employee that he should be fired. The clerk at the register , a very good man, was belittled by the man at the grill. The clerk took my order and he supposedly made a mistake. He told the cook my orders and he messed it up. When the cook yelled at the clerk to be a man and come over to him so he could punch him and push his face on to the grill. No one should work in those hostile conditions. First off this review is based on the food and the honesty and integrity of the owner of this establishment and if I could give 10 stars I would. I've gotten takeout here many times and it's always been delicious whether I've gotten pizza a dinner like chicken ziti and broccoli or a sub the big Papi or the Grand Slam or even a Calzone my favorite the Buffalo Chicken. I work in the area and my company also uses Gio's for events always to rave reviews. However last night made my opinion of this place go to another level see I'm a bit absent minded and I left my wallet on the counter and not sure where but somewhere there and it contained over 600$ in cash my insurance cards my license my credit cards not to mention some sentimental stuff and also with tomorrow being the wife's birthday and is going to Maine on Sunday I was in a panic and figured I was screwed figured cash was gone bank card gone no time to get new one credit cards gone but I called Gio's at 10am and Andre the owner told me he had messaged me on Facebook but I didn't receive it and I could go by and pick it up. I went by and my wallet was there with everything inside. Kudos to Andre Kudos to Gio's great food but even greater people !!! This is a great pizza and sub place. Pizza has great flavor. I wish they would reconsider the amount of toppings on a pizza, they have gotten very stingy with the portions. If a pizza is ordered with three toppings it should be loaded, instead it seems as if they just divide the portions 3 ways- a three topping pizza should have 3 times more than a one topping. OMG- I just called to see if my order was coming ... seems delivery Driver had car trouble... no problem, totally understand that. But when I asked about my pizza and fingers.... the girl on the phone was rude rushed, bothered by my inquiry and told me " that's why I told you 45 mins to and hour for delivery ".... that was a total lie. I didn't even ask her how long the order would be. I just called 45 mins after ordering to ask when it was coming.... what I expected was for her to say " sorry for the delay" we'll make sure to keep your order warm" or at the very least ... maybe a curtesy call- ugh . The best place around for a quick meal. The staff is very friendly including the owner who is very interactive with my always entertaining son...when time allows, of course. Salads are always a concern when I eat out and I have never found one bit of wilted lettuce in the salads. Everything is as fresh as one can expect (and we expect a lot). The TV is often too loud but they are always accomodating when I ask for it to be reduced. read more

The food, 5 stars. But as a member of this town trying to support local businesses, the woman answering the phone today forced me to go elsewhere. And to make matters worst, I called again 5 hours later to order pizza and their line was busy for 15 minutes? This woman asks me to hold, as I do. She then picks up the other phone and takes down a long order, then talks to her employee, and still doesn't pick the phone back up for my order. I was forced to hang up. This service is comparable to the awful drive thru Dunkin' Donuts in down town. I will not be eating here for quite some time. I love the food here. Best cheesesteaks in town. However I often get frustrated trying to order because their phone system sucks. It just hangs up on you if the line is busy, text ordering sucks because you have to then call in to pay, and get hung up on. Picked a lunch today...first time going there...ordered steak tips for lunch. I ordered medium and they came out very much overcooked but because I got it to go I was already home. But I found really annoying was the fact that the steak tips we're not put in a proper package to take home it was simply wrapped in tin foil and throw it in the bag.. the steak tips came with two sides so I ordered the salad and the steak fries and believe it or not they put the salad and steak fries all in one container together which I found rather strange.. everything should have been put in its own little to call plastic or cardboard container. In addition the steak tips are dry and tasteless I don't think they had any marinade at all. On the positive side the place was cheery.. the staff was friendly and it looked very clean I will not go back there again simply for the fact that they package their food to go so sloppily and they couldn't get the food temperature right either read more

I just ordered a calzone tonight and it had a big black hair in the middle of the clazone. I bit into it and had to pull the hair out of my mouth. This is my first time going to Gios after living in Danvers for the past 18 years. It is safe to say that when there is a hair in the food I will never go back again. I have worked in restaurants before and you need to take the proper precautions to prevent things like this happening. It ruined my whole night and I will not be going back. Ordered delivery today. The delivery was quick and the driver was friendly. My American sub was good, but had way to much mayo but after I fixed it, was fine. I ordered fries and a pizza roll, both were gross. The fries had no flavor and weren't warm. They were almost mushy. The pizza roll was burnt and was just not good. Overall, it wasn't worth the $16 I paid. But I'd go back just for a sub. I'll get my fries and sides elsewhere. read more

Though the food was okay at best. The service was outstandingly TERRIBLE. There is a young girl who works the front desk who looks absolutely miserable. "Can I get a small steak Bomb?" Wait for about 15 minutes, watch several other people enter and order after us and get their food much faster.
