Don't get me wrong the pizza is very enjoyable and flavorful. Service is attentive and good as well. Cute Italian ambiance. BUT I got a Greek wrap today and when I got to work...3 min drive btw the bread was soaked and mushy and not worth the 12 dollars I paid for it. Frankly disappointed. I expected better. This place is horrible. I genuinely think you could get food faster and more accurate with coke and a toaster. We ordered a pizza and over an hour later the guy comes. Yippee. We ordered two pizzas and he gave us one. It wasn't even the pizza we ordered!!!!!!! We called back (me and my friend) and they charged us for both pizzas even though we received ONE and it wasn't what we ordered. Very dissatisfied. We needed to pay again to get our food. The only remotely good thing was the crust. It was as hard as bricks, but if you can chew it, it's tolerable. I went to this place for the first time last night after hearing good feedback from friends. Got four pizzas with a buddy of mine and I thought they were delicious...crust and sauce, both homemade, were outstanding. Here's the pie by pie details. Cali vegetable: very good looking pizza with some great flavor. Not "mucky" like many other vege pies. Verona (sweet sausage, ricotta, and caramelized onions): favorite of the night. Robust taste and great proportions of toppings. Steak bomb: very tasteful and good looking. Least favorite and still good: the chick parm...was looking for a little more flavor and it was a little too heavy on the ricotta. Maybe zip it up a little? I dig this place...easy five stars. Too bad it's a little too far from home for it to be the house "go to" pie. read more

Review is based on slices alone. Glad I stumbled into this place. I was craving some good quality slices and at $2 for a cheese slice, and $3 for their roma slice, these both satisfy my value/quality ratio. These aren't the typical greek-style slices you find in all the roast beef shops saturating the area. I'm sure it was ready well before 30 minutes and cooled down before I showed up. My error was trusting that our order was correct and drove off. It's a wonderful feeling to find out the order was wrong miles away, but this could have been avoided had the order been written down correctly by those we paid. Nothing like having cold pizza not made the way it was ordered. For the price one pays at this pizza shop, you'd think the workers would be a bit more on top of their game. I'm kind of picky with pizza. 90% of it falls into the "[Town Name] House of Pizza" category: Medium sized crusts with decent sauce and somewhat tasteless cheese. It's pizza, but it's nothing really memorable. Panini Pizzeria blows that stuff out of the water. My love for their pizza actually surprises me, because I'm usually a fan of the thick crust variety, and this place has some pretty thin crust. But everything about the pizza is so delicious that it far outweighs my bias. The crust is thin but chewy, and has a delicious yeasty taste, like rolls from a bakery. The sauce has to be made straight from tomatoes because it always tastes very fresh. And the cheese is high quality enough where you can actually taste the mozzarella flavor. Their specialty pizzas are great as well. I often have a slice of their white pizza with tomatoes. Yesterday I had a spinach and chicken piece, and while I normally avoid spinach it tasted great on this pizza. The cost is phenomenal too, when you consider the quality of ingredients. You'd pay $5 more for pizza that tastes half as good at the Upper Crust. My wife and I have lunch here and split 3 pieces and a soda for just under $8. And these are huge slices (think Sbarro). The place itself is super clean and has a nice ambiance, again, the opposite if your standard house of pizza. I have had both sandwiches and calzones here and while they were good, I couldn't help but regretting not getting the actual pizza. read more

Got the BBQ Chicken Pizza, and my wife got a grilled chicken salad. On the positive side, the pizza is thin crust and not greasy, but the dough tasted like bread-sticks, and while not burned, was overly dry. Toppings were a little sparse, and overall flavor was nothing to write home about. The salad was mostly iceberg lettuce, with minimal other greens, and didn't seem very fresh. She likes her salad dry, and didn't want cucumbers or green peppers. I watched the gal behind the counter taking them off a pre-prepared salad before they served it. There's only one off-street parking spot, which was occupied, and that necessitated a drive through the alley onto a side street before circling back to park on the street somewhere. We ate in, and were served on paper plates, plastic-ware in a bag, and the salad came in a plastic carry-out container, so don't expect any kind of "elegance" if you eat onsite. They had the Sunday afternoon football game on a HD TV, and even though there was only one other sit-in customer, the volume was up high enough the staff could watch the game. I live in North Beverly, & for a while have been looking for really good pizza very close by, for those nights when I'm too lazy to even drive to downtown Beverly. Now I have found it! I would describe the crust as medium-thin. While it lacks that super thin crunch of a Santarpio's, it's still thin enough to make me feel that I'm eating a real pizza. Also, this crust has a great, fresh taste. I like the sauce: good combination of tomato & spice, & a just right portion on the pie. toppings are also very tasty & fresh. This place makes fantastic Italian-style pizza pies. I have never gotten any of their sandwiches, because the pizza is that good. One can really taste the quality ingredients when one orders just a plain cheese, nothing to get in the way of their amazing fresh sauce and top notch dough. The cheese its great and never too greasy like Rocco's down the street. I agree with others in saying that it could very well be the best pizza on the northshore. Price is very reasonable and the staff is friendly to boot. I have friends who live in Beverly that will make the drive to Danvers just to pick up a pie to go. Additionally, they offer free wifi, which is great and a rare thing in Danvers. I have run into situations where local teenagers are hanging out in there, nursing a slice of cheese and acting obnoxious, loud, and rude... but you can only blame that on today's parents, not the restaurant. Danvers itself has a terrible parking situation as it's basically one main drag with neighborhoods on either side. Panini's has only one dedicated parking spot for customers, and unfortunately that seems to be often used by their delivery drivers. You'll find the tiny side street that the establishment is located on to be full of their take out customers, and on more than one occasion I've had to circle the surrounding streets waiting for a nearby spot to open. You can't blame this on the restaurant either, as that is par for the course in downtown Danvers. The one suggestion I would make is that along with the crushed red pepper and parmesan cheese they have out for those eating there, that they also offer a shaker of oregano as well. Most places offer all 3 and I'm always wishing I had a bit to sprinkle on the pie before I dig in. When that's all I can think of for an improvement, you know they're doing something right. This family-owned business is more than a pizzeria. They have a wide selection of sandwiches, paninis, wraps, calzones, salads, soup, and my new favorite Danvers pizza! The pizza crust is made fresh daily, and they coat the bottom with cornmeal or something to add an extra crispiness. Yum! They have caramelized onions that are so sweet. I have had them on both pizza and in a panini. The vegetarian panini was specially made by the owner for me! He tries to accommodate all of his customers, which is rare nowadays. My 10 year old son loves their cheese pizza, and he is very picky. So what if they don't have whole wheat? Sometimes you just gotta indulge. read more

I remember driving by this small pizza shop in downtown Danvers. Now it was time to investigate. The parking is very limited. The shop is small with a fair amount of seating with a nice jumbo plasma tv on the wall. The staff was friendly and accommodating with my order. After looking over the menu I decided to go the Honey Ham and Cheese would do the trick. This was a finely constructed sandwich which hit the spot just right. I was driving through Danvers one day on my way to a friends house and decided to stop in and order a pizza from this place. I have to say that I was fairly surprised. I was expecting typical suburban pizza, but ended up receiving a very tasty and memorable pizza experience. The italian style crust is not too thick or thin, it's a perfect balance of crispy and soft. The sauce is very flavorful and a little sweet. The cheese is high quality and the toppings are fresh and plentiful. In short, I'm just going to say that it's a great place to visit if you're in the area. My friends and I have been here a few times since then. The Roma specialty pizza is excellent. If you're really hungry, go for the steak bomb pizza. Very tasty, bread was fresh, and ingredients complimented each other. For the pizza, we did one half panini combo and one half chix parm. This place moved in right down the street from me. Kind of dangerous actually. My boyfriend and I are total pizza snobs, but this place is fantastic. I'm at a loss for the names of the pizza, but I believe the California Veggie is delicious. The crust is also very good not too thin, but not thick. I've also become a fan of the Roma Tomato, which is a white pizza, but the staff are always able to make it red for me and my guy. The panini's are very tasty as well. I got the asiago roast beef and it was heavenly. The staff is quick and accommodating and it is a cute little cafe. I think I noticed a little table and some chairs set up outside which should make the food that much more enjoyable. Wouldn't tonight be a great night for pizza? read more

So Ive been hearing about this place and i love chicken parm calzones so i try them all over, and this place i can honestly say had the best chicken parm calzone i have ever had period. So i decided to try the steak and cheese calzone and i was blown away, definitely the best steak and cheese calzone ive ever had. Thats two for two and ill definitely be going back and i highly recommend either one of those calzones to anyone who like a nice crispy yet fluffy calzone with cornmeal crumbs all around its just delicious. Great pannini's and friendly service! The food is excellent here! It is a good place to sit at the bar and watch World Cup or a baseball game. It is 100% recommended to call ahead. Each item on the menu takes 20 minutes or more to prepare, no exceptions. If you order a panini in the restaurant, expect to wait twenty minutes. This is never going to be a grab and go, even a single slice could take ten minutes to order up. They do not have Diet Coke, just Pepsi. At one point all the staff went to the back and about four people were waiting for orders by the door. read more
