They are so beyond rude in this place. The fat girl who is always there with the bleach frosted blonde hair is just outrageous. Now instead of answering the phone with "please hold" she just throws the phone down. When you do get to place an order, she is always talking to other people. She thinks she is being efficient but she is just plain nasty. The only reason people go here is because it's cheap. I have never been treated so rudely and it's ALL the time. Then the way they toss the pizza pans around. They wear gloves but aren't bright enough to understand their function and handle money with the gloves on, then touch your food. So GROSS! Excellent servers great food at a great place! Yumm. They have super good subs. Greek salads with tons to feta..no skimping here. Ill most be back have deliveries and recomend this sub shop to every one I know who loves salads and subs!! read more

I'm not quite sure what all the bad reviews are all about. While the pizza was a bit greasy I thought that the taste was great. I really liked the crust, not too thin, not too thick and it had a good crunch to it. If I ever found myself in the area again I'd certainly go back. read more

I visited Gios several weeks ago while in town visiting my sick mother. My mom wanted to have a roast beef sandwich. A friend of mine suggested we only go to Gios, it was thee best. Fast forward to today, 10/5. My sick mother( stomach cancer) calls me at work( I live and work in Atlanta). She wants Gios roast beef and onion rings. I called and asked if they would deliver to Peabody( a few miles out side the normal perimeter of where they would normally deliver) I told them I would give who ever would be delivering an extra $20 bucks if they could bring my mom (who is house bound) a small roast beef sandwich and onion rings. They said NO!! What??? I begged them to do it for me. Flat out no. Never ever go to GIOS roast beef. Awful awful awful customer service. Oh forgot to mention, the woman that answered the phone hung up on me... heaven forbid the owner gets sick and wants a special meal delivered to him and someone says "NO".. assholes read more

Typical sub shop but the portions are tiny. Gio's "large" cheese steak is smaller than most places small size subs or sandwiches. Plenty of other places to go in downtown Danvers. read more

Hi I've been to this place before and I've forgotten how rude and unfriendly this place can be. I just ordered a sub and I sat in the dining room area for about 10 minutes listening to the staff bicker and whine about deliveries and everything else, when I finally was called up to the counter and the woman says my order was ready five minutes ago And turns her back to me and walks away. Love this place. Good food friendly staff. We have been coming here since we moved to danvers 3 yrs ago. Traditional Greek style pizza place. Solid pizza and really good chicken kabob salads. There is nothing I wouldn't try here but I'm a creature of habit. I usually get takeout or delivery here. read more

I'm not sure that I understand the gripe that many people have with Gio's. Just about every time I have gone the service has been good, and the food is tasty for a reasonable price. Not only that, it's always easy to find a parking space, compared to a lot of the restaurants in downtown Danvers where there is limited parking. This has probably the worst buffalo chicken calzone I ever had. There was no cheese, only RUBBERY chicken in the middle, lot of crust and limited sauce. I will never get another one there again, or recommend it. read more

So I take my 11 month old grandson on his daily walk, today specifically to Gio's on the advice of another. I have NEVER NEVER NEVER been so insulted at 11:10 in the morning, with only 2 other people in the place, you think she might not be set off yet but, the bleach blond behind the register was ruder than anyone i have ever encountered! I never ordered so I can not review their food, I hope that makes the owner upset. You might as well rip up a $20 and throw it in the trash...basically what just happened to you, I have to think she must be family because no one there seemed to care how rude she was. I legit put my wallet away and left after she pretty much barker her order at me to tell her what i was 'gettin' and when I said not sure she literally rolled her eyes so far into her head, may they never get stuck there girlfriend, and best of all waved her hand at me to walk away!!!! I been to Gios a few times until I paid a little more close attention on how they are handling their lunch hour rush. The place is filty dirty. The employees DONT wear gloves nor do they wear hair nets The girl that handles the register actually makes sandwiches and rings people up WITHOUT washing her hands. She does NOT wear gloves either. That was a big turns of to me.. eating there, HOW can you take peoples cash and then continue making sandwiches without washing your hands. I have also seen them EAT.. while making peoples lunches ... gross ! Same goes for the people in the back kitchen. Of all the food establishments in downtown Danvers I would put Gio's somewhere in the middle for their quality of food. As far as customer service I would definitely put them at the bottom. Was there last night to pick up my order, the food is great here, long time customer, and I've had two issues the last time here, what's going on? Last night two older woman in their 30/40's were arguing crazy in front of us making all the customers very uncomfortable. Lady's you need to vent or act like children go out back outside and do your thing, there were kids in there also. Grow up! Last week I ordered spaghetti/meatballs and got home but no meatballs. Called and Marco had them sent right up to me. People talk around here in Danvers, trust me there's always a lot of drama in there most days so please just concentrate on your job. We're all here to eat or pick up food after a long day of working and kids etc.. Totally unprofessional, you're losing customers and don't even know it. Pretty sad because your food is pretty good for a quick take out place. Take care and just let us see the service and food being the priority. You're screwing up a good thing! read more

Gio's is a great option in an area jam packed with pizza and sub shops. Their calzone was the best I've had in a long time--very flavorful and not greasy. The lamb dinner was delicious, also. The pita bread, however, needs some help. It was super stale and thin , the worst pita I've ever had from a restaurant. Hopefully that was just a blip, because everything else was great. read more

First time here tonight and I'm so disappointed. I got the chicken kabob dinner to go and when I opened up the bag at home I found a packet of foil with just plain pieces of chicken inside. I was like where's the feta, onions, tomatoes, lettuce, and dressing? I thought for sure they got my order wrong and called to find out what happened but no one ever answered the phone. They don't give napkins or utensils either. Well Gios I tried you yet again due to my son having a friend sleep over and wanted a pizza with buffalo chicken, seriously $18 for a pizza with only half buffalo chicken n other half cheese! I have been here several times over the years and it is ok, convenient to park, that's why I stop. Food is ok, nothing great. But the counter staff is not very welcoming. The woman taking orders was having a running argument with a customer, in fun I believe, but the language was atrocious and was quite a turn-off for the other people eating there. Then they were commenting and laughing about one of the customers right after they had left the store. I have seen this on more than one occasion, but it will be my last time. The food is good and the portions a good size. The main problem with them is that they NEVER get the order totally right. I have yet to pick up a meal, even a single sub, that is exactly they way it is ordered. Nothing major....add cheese, you get it home...no cheese. Other than that, okay.
