We have been purchasing from them since 1992 because of their professionalism and dedication to providing the best products at great prices. Our home has had John Boos butcher block tabletops since then. Our children were literally raised on them. We made bread, cut vegetables, fruits, and served our meals on them. Our gathering place has always been the John Boos maple tabletops. As the kids got older their friends also gathered around in our kitchen. These tabletops are extraordinarily hard and perfect forever. This is the best place to purchase them as they have a direct relationship with John Boos and can answer all questions about sizing and available options. We originally purchased one 30" by 48" in 1992, when we moved we took it with us. We then needed a 36"by 72" which worked great in a bigger kitchen. Now we are redoing the kitchen and are using the John Boos classic country work table as our counters as well as for a large island. The minimalist approach to kitchens and the open airy feeling with these versatile worktables will be perfect in our adobe home. Of course we drove right out to Economy to get their help with this approach and in choosing the right and best products and got a great price too. The delivery was scheduled easily, conveniently, and WE LOVE THE PRODUCTS!!!!!

This location is like the others that I have been to. Clean, airy, bright (plenty of windows letting sunlight in). I have shopped at this location several times, staff is friendly, nice selection of cookware, dishes, glasses, silverware, cooking utensils, mixes, spices, etc. I have taken 2 cooking classes there. Including a class for Steak, Salad, Mousse. It was fun, and informative. Class was a little over 2 hours. We were taught by a renowned chef who walked us through every step in the process. See attached pictures, but in the end, we had a delicious meal prepared by all 4 of us at our station. We also got a discount to use that day on any items we purchased. In addition we were emailed the recipe and ingredient list, and a coupon on a future class. I recommend a class if you have time.

I purchased the class…read moreas a birthday present for my fiancé, and it ended up being such a fun and memorable experience for both of us! Our instructor and head chef was Ty. Unfortunately, this was his final class, but he was truly the BEST instructor! He explained everything so clearly and made the entire cooking process feel easy and approachable. Paella seems intimidating, right?! I couldn't believe we actually made it ourselves, and I left feeling so proud of myself and my group. I genuinely feel confident that we could recreate it at home now! We also had such a fun group, which made the experience even better. I wish Ty the absolute best in his future endeavors! The class was thoughtfully organized, and the environment felt comfortable and welcoming. Everything we made the paella, salad, and dessert was delicious. There was plenty of food for everyone to feel full, and we even got to take some home. The only drawback involved the quality of a few ingredients given to some of the other groups. A couple of oranges and other ingredients were rotten inside. This had absolutely nothing to do with Ty, but Sur La Table and whoever sources or prepares the ingredients should be more careful and provide extras in case something is unusable. These classes cost approximately $100 per person, which is enough to expect fresh, high quality ingredients for every student and instructor. Aside from that issue, the entire experience was a 10/10. We had so much fun, learned a lot, ate an amazing meal, and left feeling inspired to cook paella at home. I will definitely be back for another class!!

Since the San Diego location had closed, we headed up to Carlsbad--which already felt like part of the adventure. After all, nothing says "celebration" quite like putting a group of friends in a kitchen with sharp knives, hot burners, and just enough confidence to be dangerous. From the start, the class had a great energy. It was fun, interactive, and just the right amount of organized chaos. We were all assigned tasks, trying to follow directions while also catching up and laughing along the way. At times, it felt more like a lively kitchen full of friends than a structured class, which added to the fun. We also ended up sharing our cooking station with a really great family, which turned out to be a highlight. It added to the experience having more people to laugh with, compare notes, and occasionally look at for reassurance when something didn't seem quite right. There's something about bonding over butter, timing, and "is this done yet?" that brings people together pretty quickly. The menu itself was good: rosemary chicken, risotto, a fresh salad with homemade dressing, and a strawberry custard for dessert. And I have to admit--the risotto was my personal favorite of the night. With all the stirring, multitasking, and conversation happening, I was fully expecting it to go sideways. Instead, it came out perfect, which felt like winning a small but meaningful award. I may never make it that well again, but for one night, I'll take it. If there was one challenge, it was that the class size felt a little large for just one chef. There were moments where it felt like culinary traffic--people waiting for guidance, timing overlapping, and a bit of "are we supposed to be doing this now?" But to the chef's credit, they kept things moving and somehow brought it all together in the end. By the time we stood standing to eat , it was one of those moments where you look around and think, "We actually made this." The food was genuinely good, the experience was memorable, and the laughs along the way made it even better. All in all, it was a fun, slightly chaotic, and very successful way to celebrate. It's not every day you get to cook a full meal with friends, meet new people, and walk away feeling like a semi-professional chef (or at least convincing yourself you are). We'd absolutely do it again--if only to see if we can repeat our unexpected success.

Lowe's Appliance Delivery - The Worst Experience I've Ever Had…read more I have never dealt with anything as chaotic as trying to get a refrigerator delivered from Lowe's. Ordering the appliance was easy, but everything after that was a complete disaster. The first refrigerator arrived defective, so they had to reorder another one. The second delivery was scheduled for the next day. I waited all day, tracked my order, and saw I was stop #14. At 5:45 PM, the third‑party delivery company called and said they were 20 minutes away. Forty‑five minutes later, still nothing. I called them, and after "tracking" the driver, they told me they could not complete the delivery -- no call, no update, nothing. If I hadn't called, I would have been sitting there waiting all night. What I don't understand is why Lowe's even sells appliances if they can't manage the delivery portion. This was my sixth attempt between Home Depot and Lowe's to get a refrigerator delivered, and somehow it keeps getting worse. To make things even more frustrating, Lowe's couldn't cancel my order because the refrigerator was still "on the truck," wherever that truck was. I spoke to Jessica, who claimed she emailed the warehouse to stop the delivery and cancel the order. Turns out that never happened. Michelle then told me she had no idea what went wrong and that she could only "keep an eye on it" until the item returned to the warehouse -- only then could they issue a refund. After this entire ordeal, I will never buy appliances from Lowe's or Home Depot again. The lack of communication, accountability, and basic customer service is unbelievable.
