The foods are delicious, and I love that I can bring clean bottles and canisters to fill and refill. I tried their wooden bamboo toothbrush and love it. No more swallowing microplastics when I brush. 5 stars for the kid who works here and for the dried persimmons and mushroom jerky. It's a cute little store south of the happening part of Encinitas and worth going a little bit out of your way for. They have everything from shampoos to dish soaps so bring your own container and fill it up!! read more

So glad I walked into and found this place! Blonde lady (owner) was super helpful and pretty! I love that everything is zero waste packaging (you bring your own containers) and if u forget to they have free sanitized glass containers in the front to use to fill up goodies from the store. There is literally everything here to buy for pantry including toiletries, everything except dairy, meat and veggies. They do have eggs and fresh bread! There is freshly made refrigerated sweets as well - I just had the homemade pecan square and it's the best thing I've eaten sweets wise! I will come back for that :) read more

A jewel of a store to find anything and everything non-toxic and all natural in products my family uses every day. I now purchase creamy & fabulous deodorant, wonderful bath soap, and THE most delicious chocolate protein bars made with dates. Consider trying Local Scoop out. Local Scoop participates in an app called "too good to go" where businesses sell their products in surprise bags for a discounted price (in this case discounting each bag from $18 to $6). The goal is to minimize food waste and incentivize people with food deals. Today I bought 2 surprise bags from local scoop (supposed to be a total value of $36, I paid $12.) this is what I received for $12 (supposedly worth $36.) I'll let you decide if you want to buy product here. (Produce was mostly old bruised). Also worth noting that the employee didn't see that the order included 2 bags so if I didn't say that when I picked up I would have received half of this for $12. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Local Scoop/The Nada Shop I was so excited to stop in the shop and check it out. As my father and I were walking thru the Lumberyard I noticed the shop. I had heard of shops like this with no packaging in other countries but I did not know we had one in town. I have lived in Carlsbad for over 30 years and have spent a lot of time in Encinitas. Unfortunately the customer service was so unwelcoming I had to leave before I could even enjoy the idea of the store. I was not greeted when I walked in. The store was empty, no one else was in there but the lady at the register area had such an attitude, I guess whatever she was looking at on her cell phone or tablet was more important than her 1 possible customer. I walked up to her to greet her and explained that I had been in there before, all she said to me was, "...we've been here four years. We now carry grocery items..." points to the grocery area and then went back to doing whatever was so important at her tablet/cell phone. As I'm looking around, with in probably 3 minutes at the most, a family walks in. OH! She greeted them. They explained they explained it was there first time in the store. She asked if she could help them find something and they said they were just browsing. She then comes out from behind the register desk area and starts to give them the pitch of the store. She says, "....so you've never been here before, we are..." and explains the concept of the store. That is when I left, because apparently I was worthy of the speal, my Carlsbad $ is not good enough for her Encinitas store. HI! Pretty Women movie experience.... "...big mistake....huge!" I will never go in there again, you have kissed my Carlsbad $ goodbye. read more
