Well, it's grilling season and even though Wild Fork doesn't carry my bacon wrapped shrimp anymore I still had to go in and see what was new. We had steaks at home so didn't need that but we needed some interesting appetizers so I started to look and I will tell you the amount of stock they have at this store is truly amazing and different. Super easy Parking and really nice service so get that grill going and get over to Wild Fork which you can also do online if you need to super quick delivery.

Everything here is frozen everything from beef tenderloin to beef brisket, beef flap steak and inside round steaks, organic chicken, organic chicken breast, wide variety of chicken and seafood. Seafood varies from frozen cod, Dungeness, crab, crab legs, scallops, shrimp and more they also have game frozen meats from venison, bison, rabbit, whole ducks, and more. Their frozen prepared meals are pretty impressive from Asian to Mexican empanadas, chicken tacos, chicken, empanadas, pork Carnitas tacos, and other Indian specialty foods. They also have an impressive shelfstable selection of condiments from ketchup, mustard, barbecue sauces, marinades, and more. Prices are very reasonable but again how long is it gonna take to defrost a 6 pound frozen pork shoulder? Then barbecue it so it's convenient for some meats but I kind of question the frozen larger cuts of meat. It is reasonable but just a hassle to defrost. It would probably take at least 3+ days and then entire day of smoking. Service I only noticed one employee who was either helping other customers and then manning the cash register so very efficient operation. Service was nice. He asked everyone how they were doing and if they were finding everything. I never found the six dollar duck breast so maybe our Encinitas wild fork didn't have it. But they did have whole ducks again frozen I mean we would go back.

Stopped in to the local Wild Fork to pick up some steaks while visiting my parents in Encinitas & it did not disappoint!! The staff were very friendly and helpful - they helped my husband find some ancestral blend chicken & me find the Argentinian/Brazilian steaks - and the prices were VERY reasonable for the area. The store was very clean and organized, and they seemed well stocked in every area. Hopefully we will have a chance to come back to Wild Fork again during our visit!

A meal idea: We made GF Chicken meatballs from here. (GF Penne and gravy from different store)

This specialty meat market is marvelous and we buy several of our favorite things here. The products are vaccume sealed and frozen. We've loved every meal that we've made from our purchases. The storefront is very clean and organized! Meats are displyed in their own organized stations! Oxtails, an assortment of different types of meatballs, pre-marinated chicken breasts, frozen cheese bread, key lime pie and crème brûlée was everything that fit in my personal grocery bag. I'm a creature of habit and get some of the exact products and then make a poiny to include something different to try as well. Currently they have afordable pricing wich keeps us coming back here! We signed up our emails, and we were told by the cashier that they are going to host a future buisness anniversary event. So to look out for that email. And that there will be future on site BBQs for us to try more of what they have to offer! I'm following their Instagram as well since they post events there too. We come here for all our churrasco needs.

Well organized meat store! They had a great selection of allllll the proteins. Unfortunately for me, I was looking for something to cook that night and everything is frozennnnn here. BUT! It's freezer air tight meaning it keeps the integrity of the meat. We for a decently size picahna that was already seasoned for $40!!! A deal for this kind of cut of meat. We also got some ribeye. From what I saw, the meat quality here is top notch. They also have other frozen apps that would complement any meal. I think this is a great option to get your meats at instead of the markets IF you don't need thawed meat to cook right away. Great addition to the community!

We first tried Wild Fork in Los Angeles, and we were happy to learn that there's this Wild Fork in Encinitas. Much closer to home. It's smaller than the LA store but seems to have the same inventory, at least the items that interest us. The store is bright, airy and welcoming. Meats and seafood are mostly flash frozen and cryrovac'ed. There's beef, poultry, pork, lamb, veal, and game meats, plus seafood. Some frozen vegetables and desserts can also be found here. Prices are competitive. Service is very good. Every associate we encountered was friendly and helpful. No problem parking close to the store in a shared parking lot. Easy access to/from Leucadia Blvd with a traffic light.

Wild Fork is a quickly growing specialty grocery store that specializes in all varieties of exotic meat and seafood. I recently attended a grand opening celebration at this location. Local chefs were onsite showcasing their creations and giving generous samples as well. I purchased a bag of Texas shrimp, some Brazilian cheese puff balls and buns and the prices are reasonable. Everything in the store is frozen and many items are ready to heat and eat. Crowds packed the store on opening day and my family members enjoyed the samples they received. I think that Wild fork will be wildly successful because of it's convenient location and easy to prepare food. I may return in the future, however I am not the target customer for meat and frozen foods.

Just opened up near me in Encinitas. Was very quiet when I went in but lady working was very helpful. I wanted seafood and a rib eye. Also friend said chicken pot pie was good. Got a thick 1 inch plus prime rib eye, a pot pie and some shrimp, calamari and scallops. Pot pie good although gravy was bit salty The rib eye very good but need to learn to cook frozen. Bbq plus oven. Seafood still in storage. Oh key lime pie, amazing!

I love Wild Fork! I first found this store when visiting South Florida. I saw that one was supposed to open in PB but it kept getting delayed so was excited to see this location was open while visiting. I love their meat and side selections. They have all types of meats including chicken, pork, beef, other poultry, seafood, game meats and fun cuts that aren't always easy to find like Pichana and tomahawk. They also sell lots of prepared sides, desserts and also have seasonings and random items such as beef tallow. I love their sausages and beef. Definitely sign up for their emails as they run great deals that they send out weekly. The staff area always up for giving suggestions or talking about recipes. Be aware that pretty much all items are frozen and for me that is great but you may want to think about it if you are looking for same day meals. This is a great store to go in and browse, you will probably find something new to try.

Ask the Community - Wild Fork

Is there anything organic or wild caught?

You have to call Wild Fork. From my shopping there, I don't remember seeing anything tagged as such, but I wasn't looking for organic or wild caught. Maybe some of the seafood.

Wyatt got a KOREAN CRACK sandwich (grilled trip tip, Korean BBQ sauce, smoked cheddar, kimchi, and crispy fried onions) on a brioche burger bun. I ordered a WHISKEY CRACK (grilled trip tip, whiskey-peppercorn sauce, blue cheese, pickled onions, and arugula) on a ciabatta roll. as is our habit, we traded half a sandwich for half a sandwich. both were amazing. a couple of days later, the wife-unit and I were headed to Solana Beach from Carlsbad, and stopped in Cardiff at SEASIDE MARKET. the sandwich we shared was not as good as the one Wyatt and I shared. instead of a dense, chewy ciabatta roll, this time the sandwich was served on a squishy, wonder bread roll. major downgrade. anyway, pretty darn amazing and totally worth an occasional drive down the coast. plus, you gotta love the view.

I love checking out all of the items they have available, and always have to grab at least a pound of the crack. This last time I picked up the Spicy Chipotle BBQ tri-tip as well. So good. If you are just visiting, you can grab a sandwich made with the tri-tip.

My favorite stop on my recent trip to the San Diego area…read more Encinitas Fish Shop was recommended by one of my local SD work colleagues. I grabbed an Uber after work on a Thursday and headed north 11 miles. As I arrived at the Fish Shop, I could smell the goodness inside and saw the line waiting to order. The restaurant is on one side, with an open bar on the other. Ordering is as simple as 1, 2, 3. Pick your fish, pick how you want to consume it (plate, sandwich, salad), and pick your sides and drink. I went with my work colleagues recommendation of a blackened sea bass sandwich with onion rings and a Marg. That choice was FANTASTIC!!! You seat yourself once you order and place the buzzer given to you by the counter person on the unit on your table. Although busy, there were still tables available (bar and restaurant, plus out front). As the NBA playoffs were on, I sat inside. Everyone working here was friendly and as I already stated... my meal was the best I had on this San Diego visit. A bonus was a gorgeous sunset just 3 blocks down from the shop. I will be back to Encinitas Fish Shop when I next visit San Diego.

I moved to North County and a few years later they opened Encinitas fish shop. I have been for the oysters in the past but it had been a long time. I looked it up to make sure they still had oyster night and sure enough they do. The price is now $1.25 but that still feels like a good deal. They had 4 different types to choose from. There was only about 7 people in front of me when I got in line including a family. There was an older couple ordering and it took about 20 minutes for them to complete their transaction. The rest of the line moved ok after they were done, but I probably waited about 40 minutes just to order. I ordered 3 of each kind, a dozen. Then I went to get water. They were out of ice. I sat in the window seating and waited. It took a bit, but it was a nice day so I didn't mind too much. A girl came out calling names but it was very difficult to hear her. I finally heard my name and she dropped off my oysters. I asked for more cocktail sauce and she left to get it. She brought it back but immediately left and never told me which oysters were which. I had to flag down another employee and he told me which oysters were which. In the past, I haven't liked some of the choices, but this time they had a whole different selection and I liked all of them! They were so good and fresh. I don't know why I waited so long to return. I'll definitely be back for more soon!

The market appeals to shoppers who value freshness, thoughtful sourcing and convenience. There is a huge selected range of fresh produce, including organic and seasonal fruits and vegetables. The meat and seafood department -- my favorite department -- is a standout, offering high-quality cuts of beef, chicken and pork, along with fresh and sushi-grade seafood. The deli and prepared foods section is phenomenal! And it's full service. They have Boar's Head meats and a wide assortment of cheeses, along with house-made salads, sandwiches and ready-to-eat meals. The market also offers a bakery selection with pastries and desserts, as well as artisan breads that pair well with the store's specialty items. My absolute favorite item in this section are the chips, which are fresh, thin, crispy and perfectly salted. I will stop in for the chips alone. Beyond the fresh departments, Harvest carries a thoughtful mix of pantry staples and other products. Shoppers can find specialty oils and vinegars, unique seasonings, sauces, olives and chocolates. The wine selection excellent as well. The overall shopping experience is clean, friendly and personal, and the staff are generally very helpful and knowledgeable. The lack of cleanliness was immediately noticeable--from how staff moved between tasks to the overall condition of the workspace. For a food establishment, the absence of basic hygiene awareness was deeply concerning and hard to ignore as a customer sitting there watching it unfold. The attitude of the staff made the situation worse. There was a consistent tone of irritation, impatience, and indifference toward customers. Simple interactions felt unwelcome. No courtesy, no attentiveness, no effort to create a respectful or pleasant environment. It gave the impression that standards--both for service and conduct--are simply not enforced. Unfortunately, the food reflected the same lack of care. It was excessively greasy, heavy, and unpleasant, with a taste that raised real concerns about preparation quality. I couldn't finish my meal, and I left feeling uneasy rather than satisfied. What stood out most was the overall feeling that cleanliness, professionalism, and customer experience are not priorities here. When a restaurant shows this level of disregard in both service and food handling, it completely undermines trust. This is not a place I would return to or recommend.
