Well, it's grilling season and even though Wild Fork doesn't carry my bacon wrapped shrimp anymore I still had to go in and see what was new. We had steaks at home so didn't need that but we needed some interesting appetizers so I started to look and I will tell you the amount of stock they have at this store is truly amazing and different. Super easy Parking and really nice service so get that grill going and get over to Wild Fork which you can also do online if you need to super quick delivery.

I know sweetbreads are inexpensive but I'd rather pay more and have more of what's promised. Won't be purchasing them again from Wild Fork.

Omg! We bought a Wagyu picanha and it was amazing. We've had their normal prime picanha but when I went this time, one of the sales associate told me that their Wagyu picanha was half off. I checked it and it was a huge 4lb picanha, the expiration date was coming due (hence discount) which was perfect bc we were going to eat it in the next couple days. We thawed it out and it was beautifully marbled. We cooked it and yes it was so buttery and rich, really tasted that Wagyu in it. It was tasty. However, super rich, so make sure your stomach is prepared for it! We'll be back to get more picanha!! So tasty.

Everything (except the 2 Cardiff crack at the bottom from seaside market) were from the haul this morning!

I can not recommend this place enough! Compared to literally anywhere, the pricing is incredible the cuts are great quality from the marbling to the thickness. The lady that was working there this morning was beyond helpful, brought out additional cuts that hadn't made the floor yet after a busy holiday weekend. The crew helped load into my cooler, 10/10 would recommend. Very clean facility as well!

Everything here is frozen everything from beef tenderloin to beef brisket, beef flap steak and inside round steaks, organic chicken, organic chicken breast, wide variety of chicken and seafood. Seafood varies from frozen cod, Dungeness, crab, crab legs, scallops, shrimp and more they also have game frozen meats from venison, bison, rabbit, whole ducks, and more. Their frozen prepared meals are pretty impressive from Asian to Mexican empanadas, chicken tacos, chicken, empanadas, pork Carnitas tacos, and other Indian specialty foods. They also have an impressive shelfstable selection of condiments from ketchup, mustard, barbecue sauces, marinades, and more. Prices are very reasonable but again how long is it gonna take to defrost a 6 pound frozen pork shoulder? Then barbecue it so it's convenient for some meats but I kind of question the frozen larger cuts of meat. It is reasonable but just a hassle to defrost. It would probably take at least 3+ days and then entire day of smoking. Service I only noticed one employee who was either helping other customers and then manning the cash register so very efficient operation. Service was nice. He asked everyone how they were doing and if they were finding everything. I never found the six dollar duck breast so maybe our Encinitas wild fork didn't have it. But they did have whole ducks again frozen I mean we would go back.

Stopped in to the local Wild Fork to pick up some steaks while visiting my parents in Encinitas & it did not disappoint!! The staff were very friendly and helpful - they helped my husband find some ancestral blend chicken & me find the Argentinian/Brazilian steaks - and the prices were VERY reasonable for the area. The store was very clean and organized, and they seemed well stocked in every area. Hopefully we will have a chance to come back to Wild Fork again during our visit!

A meal idea: We made GF Chicken meatballs from here. (GF Penne and gravy from different store)

This specialty meat market is marvelous and we buy several of our favorite things here. The products are vaccume sealed and frozen. We've loved every meal that we've made from our purchases. The storefront is very clean and organized! Meats are displyed in their own organized stations! Oxtails, an assortment of different types of meatballs, pre-marinated chicken breasts, frozen cheese bread, key lime pie and crème brûlée was everything that fit in my personal grocery bag. I'm a creature of habit and get some of the exact products and then make a poiny to include something different to try as well. Currently they have afordable pricing wich keeps us coming back here! We signed up our emails, and we were told by the cashier that they are going to host a future buisness anniversary event. So to look out for that email. And that there will be future on site BBQs for us to try more of what they have to offer! I'm following their Instagram as well since they post events there too. We come here for all our churrasco needs.

Well organized meat store! They had a great selection of allllll the proteins. Unfortunately for me, I was looking for something to cook that night and everything is frozennnnn here. BUT! It's freezer air tight meaning it keeps the integrity of the meat. We for a decently size picahna that was already seasoned for $40!!! A deal for this kind of cut of meat. We also got some ribeye. From what I saw, the meat quality here is top notch. They also have other frozen apps that would complement any meal. I think this is a great option to get your meats at instead of the markets IF you don't need thawed meat to cook right away. Great addition to the community!

We first tried Wild Fork in Los Angeles, and we were happy to learn that there's this Wild Fork in Encinitas. Much closer to home. It's smaller than the LA store but seems to have the same inventory, at least the items that interest us. The store is bright, airy and welcoming. Meats and seafood are mostly flash frozen and cryrovac'ed. There's beef, poultry, pork, lamb, veal, and game meats, plus seafood. Some frozen vegetables and desserts can also be found here. Prices are competitive. Service is very good. Every associate we encountered was friendly and helpful. No problem parking close to the store in a shared parking lot. Easy access to/from Leucadia Blvd with a traffic light.

Wild Fork is a quickly growing specialty grocery store that specializes in all varieties of exotic meat and seafood. I recently attended a grand opening celebration at this location. Local chefs were onsite showcasing their creations and giving generous samples as well. I purchased a bag of Texas shrimp, some Brazilian cheese puff balls and buns and the prices are reasonable. Everything in the store is frozen and many items are ready to heat and eat. Crowds packed the store on opening day and my family members enjoyed the samples they received. I think that Wild fork will be wildly successful because of it's convenient location and easy to prepare food. I may return in the future, however I am not the target customer for meat and frozen foods.

Just opened up near me in Encinitas. Was very quiet when I went in but lady working was very helpful. I wanted seafood and a rib eye. Also friend said chicken pot pie was good. Got a thick 1 inch plus prime rib eye, a pot pie and some shrimp, calamari and scallops. Pot pie good although gravy was bit salty The rib eye very good but need to learn to cook frozen. Bbq plus oven. Seafood still in storage. Oh key lime pie, amazing!

Is there anything organic or wild caught?

You have to call Wild Fork. From my shopping there, I don't remember seeing anything tagged as such, but I wasn't looking for organic or wild caught. Maybe some of the seafood.

They still have the same vibe and the same menu items for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They did raise the prices but still a really good value regardless. Formerly a sit-down restaurant, this is now set-up as a take-out, with few tables outside near the entrance. It is also a small market as well, with a meat counter. We walked in at around 5:00pm on a Wednesday and ordered their BBQ Beef Rib dinner and a slice of pistachio cheesecake. The employees there were really friendly and nice. We didn't get her name at the register but on our receipt it said Gabby was our server and she was sweet. We had a question regarding ordering meat for an upcoming event and Max at the meat counter was very helpful. When we got home, the meal was delicious! The meat on the ribs was juicy and tender, the baked potato was hot! It stayed warm longer than most potatoes we've had and it was good. The mixed veggies were a bit softer than I expected but was fine. It was a good meal. We went back to order 8 BBQ beef rib dinners 3 days later on Saturday, 4th of July. We called in our order 30 minutes before pick up and when we arrived, we waited a few more minutes for our order to be done. The ribs weren't consistently good. Some were good but some were tough and chewy. But the sides of coleslaw & mashed potatoes were really good. Rolls were already cold at pick-up. Overall, it's still a good place and glad they're back.

Luckily we were given the tip to try El Nopalito which is located just off the northbound Santa Fe Drive exit on the 5. You might want to look at google maps if you don't know the area which is in an older somewhat run down strip mall. Don't let that fool you though, appearances can be deceiving. Indise El Nopalito is clean and fairly large, probably seating around sixty. The kitchen can be viewed from where you order, which I like. We ordered nothing but tacos for starters to see what we liked, they have 21 types of tacos on the menu, so we chose Carnitas, Carne Asada, and El Pastor. Good choices all, freshly made, well seasoned, great toppings and big portions. The two of us were almost full just eating the three tacos. But no, we wanted more, so we ordered the Mole Oaxaca (Red Mole) which was excellent. A very complex taste with cinnamon and chile. Three tacos and the mole finished us. The service was friendly and prompt and I enjoyed sitting there because there was much to see. When we walked in it was a few minutes before noon. We were really surprised because there were about thirty high school students there mostly having sodas and tacos. Within ten minutes they all disappeared to go back to school. The restaurant was almost empty for a few minutes and then many Mexican Landscape Workers came for lunch. At one point there were over twenty people in line and the restaurant was full! This all in the space of fifteen minutes. They did not order tacos, but the daily specials, stews, soups, etc. They were friendly too and there was a great atmosphere. We were impressed by the taste of the food, the great selection, and all we saw. Ignore my other reviews for Mexican restaurants in the Encinitas/Leucadia area, this is our new favorite!
