Keeps getting worse and worse. The store is unclean and broken down. It seems like the customers are the least important part. The refrigerated cases were mostly broken. The aisles are crammed with displays trying to entice you into buying more. It is hard to maneuver through the aisle. I feel sorry for the elderly shoppers with mobility issues as they try to navigate the store. I've seen a wheelchair user have to turn around in the aisle since they could not make it past the display. Definitely an ADA violation. As if they care! This is on top of the carts left in the aisle by employees as they are stocking the shelves. Their convenience is more important than blocking money-spending customers. The cashiers are busy on their phones, so checking you out seems to be a secondary priority. When the bagger falls behind, the cashier will not help bag the groceries after ringing you up. Instead they start ringing up the next person while you are still waiting for your groceries to be bagged. Makes it easy to mix up whose groceries are whose. Anything to get back to their phone quicker, I guess. read more

I enjoy shopping at this grocery store because it is always very clean and organized. If I have trouble finding something, I can always count on a store employee to assist me. Another reason I choose to shop here is because they have self checkout which is something that is lacking at Vons Encinitas down the street. It allows me to get in and out without having to wait in the checkout lines. A plus is that the store is located in a shopping center with other businesses like Trader Joe's, CVS, Citibank, Sephora, Discount Tire and a multitude of eateries and coffee shops making it a "one-stop" destination. read more

My go to place for general groceries. I always find great deals on produce and meats here. Apart from groceries, the flower department is AMAZING. Their florist, Susie, creates amazing bouquets and I can always trust the flower selection to have what I am looking for. read more

really great selection, got some awesome sale items too! went around 11:30pm waiting for an Uber eats order. a very kind older blonde woman with a bob was super nice when I walked in and then when I went to the self check out a middle aged/older woman with like a buzz cut and a younger dude were super weird to me. I was at the self check out and they watched everything I did and heard the guy say "should I call security?" to the woman when there was no one else around... very odd energy. hopefully there was actually something going on that I just couldn't see lol. if not, they need to find better ways to treat customers (especially ones they watched check out) and more productive ways to spend their time working. read more

I frequent this shopping center often and I love coming to this market. It's always very clean and well organized. The staff are very friendly, helpful and professional. From the produce section to the meat department, everything is well stocked. The restrooms in the back of the store (dairy products area) is always clean. They have certain items that we like that other local markets don't carry. So we'll definitely continue being regulars for that reason. read more

I really like this Ralphs. It's one of the largest Kroger brand markets I've ever shopped. The aisles are wide, the shelves are well stocked, the store is clean and neat, and the associates are helpful. Produce Departmentv is located in the center of the store rather than on one of the sides. Its major shortcomings are too few checkouts for the store size -- e.g., only six self checkouts, and one was inoperable on our last visit -- and the shopping center parking lot. I used to have a Ralph's on Melrose in Vista/Oceanside within a mile from me but now I just have 3 that are somewhat convenient including this 1 in Encinitias, the 1 in San Marcos, and the 1 in Oceanside. This one is not to out of the way, I can stop on my way home from work. It is located in a strip mall with banks, discount tire, TJs, and lots of other restaurants and shops. This is not the nicest Ralphs, it seems outdated and old, not dirty but run down looking. I haven't had to many interactions with the staff but they are usually friendly when I talk to them or need something. They have a self check out so that seems to be the fastest options and I use it as much as possible. I like Ralphs better than other competitors and they seems to have decent pricing on the things that I buy. Yesterday I biked from Mission Valley To Encinitas for my mom's 58th birthday she didn't know I was coming and I surprised her. With the growing popularity of Bros Icing Bros http://brosicingbros.com/ a trip to LA had me unarmed with Smirnoff heading to help out on a party up North. I made a quick pit stop for some ammunition not knowing I was going to walk into the "Ralph's Museum." It's immaculate. Def looked like the type of store that they could shoot a commercial in. Not sure if they had just got done with inventory or something, but every aisle in the entire store looked as if an OCD patient just got done going to town on it. It made finding a variety pack of Ice Blocks very easy, and I even picked up some groceries I wasn't necessarily shopping for. When they look that flawlessly put together it's just hard to ignore. You know what a Ralph's is like so I'm not going to bore you with the details of how much my preferred customer card saved me, but if you're in Encinitas this place is worth popping into just for the mere fact that it's so darn clean. read more

Today I left my cart by a register for literally less than 1 minute and I was shocked to see someone working here had taken it and started putting everything back on the shelves like I was gone for 2 hours or something. The service and checkout experience here has been nothing short of terrible. When I asked someone working here where my cart went they shrugged and walked away? Wtf kind of customer service is that? This is a nice Ralphs location, plenty of easy parking and a clean store. Service was nice, shelves fully stocked and some great deals to be found. Best part about Ralphs is the sales and managers specials, you can get amazing deals, especially on the baked goods from the day before. Not a huge fan of having to pay for bags at this location, so I prefer to shop in Carlsbad, but the store itself was great. read more

All I have to compare this to is the Del Mar Heights Ralphs that is my home store, or was... It just doesn't measure up. The deli isn't as full, no RIBS made or sold in the deli here. They do have a salad bar here, a small one. The bakery doesn't compare and neither does the friendly staff. No one greets you or says anything when you are in the store. Maybe I am spoiled by my Ralphs but in my opinion, this store does not come close to the service as the DMH one. It is large and the aisles are wide but I also do not know where anything is, which is no faulty of theirs. I may have to just go to Vons down the street now. read more

I rushed in that night before getting home to get some milk, but there was none left the kind of milk I use. There was no one around. I was looking for help and here comes Noah, who was holding an inventory list in his hand already and filling it out as quickly--glancing at the Dairy and other isles--as he could. I interrupted him and ask about the type of milk I was looking for. He stopped what he was doing, ran back, which was far from where I was standing, and to my surprise got two cans of milk (Mr. Mind Reader) that I was in need. He also ask if anything else I needed, which I did, so I asked him about specific yogurt I liked. He then went on his hand-held device and searched but found none. I like to thank him for his tenacity to help customer while already being busy. After finishing self checking I was ready to leave, but at that point, across the self checkout, there is a podium where I found Chase, shift manager, who also an outstanding lead. He acknowledge what I said about Noah and agree that Noah is a very good team member with helping nature. I would like to thank both of them for what they do. read more

I shop at this store almost every day. I am all for helping out people with special needs but it is getting ridiculous how terrible the people who bag the groceries there are. The person that bagged my groceries today almost broke a bottle of wine and also put stuff in my bag that belonged to the person before me. I got charged for an extra bag because he was throwing stuff in sideways (big cans of tomatoes) and they could have easily fit. Please stop hiring these people as baggers and let them do something that they are more suited for. Or! Train them how to do it correctly. Or! Just let us bag or own groceries!! I shop here but I don't know why. The shelves often lack my favorite products, the prices aren't very competitive, and even though I've been coming here for years I still can't seem to find things in thier normal locations throughout the store. I made the switch when it's competitor across the street closed down. Being the next closest grocery store to my house, I began shopping at Ralph's. Since then I seemed to just fall into a habit or laziness to drive a few more blocks to Vons or a mile or so to Stater Brothers, which seems to have better deals on everything especially meats. So why do I shop at Ralph's? I don't like writing an unfavorable review, I mean the store is clean, the people are nice and I love thier rotisserie chicken. I'll give them 3 stars which is fine I suppose. I feel like I should be reviewing myself for not making the change. To be fair I'll grade myself at 3 stars as well. How's that? I consider myself "OK" at grocery shopping. There, that'll give me room for improvement. Ralph's is "OK" too, I think, maybe, it's just not for me. Anymore! read more

I love their rotisserie chicken. And they never seem to run out of it unlike neighboring stores. And they get the magazines before any other grocery store in my hood. Ralphs. What a annoyance. 1 star for each visit. I guess they promote Customer Service because upon check out, we were asked if we found everything OK... Well, the bottom line was that our answer really wasn't good enough. As in, good enough to make changes. No, we didn't find everything OK, because what was in the ad, wasn't in the store, which was admitted by the Cashier at check out. We went to Ralph's because we had a Gift Certificate, as was the case last year. And we ended up with the same opinion of the store as last year...which was negative. If you don't like crowds, then this store is for you. But realize, there are no crowds because the store sucks. They can refurbish and upgrade and make the store as visually appealing all they want, but it doesn't take away from the fact that the store basically sucks. Ralphs has always been a mid quality and well stocked store for me. This particular location has a few attributes that make it stand out from all the other typical Ralphs stores. They have a wide Selection of Organic Produce which I greatly appreciate. It's always well stocked and fresh. The prices aren't too bad either. I used the meat/seafood department the other day to pick up a product that I really didn't think they would have but to my amazement, they did! Very impressed! Another fun little thing I gain from this store is perusing over they discount produce section toward the back of the store...a big bunch of slightly ripe bananas for $.33 , YES!!! Further that have a great produce section. The checkers and front end management are awesome too. This is our neighborhood grocery store and we love it. The rewards card is great for gas discounts. The staff here is very friendly and courteous. Produce here is always better than the sprouts or trader joes in the area too. They blast the air conditioning here so if you don't like being cold bring a sweater! read more

At 10am I went to this ralphs to get a couple of things a Asian man about 35 stood outside the west entrance if you did not gave a mask and gloves on you were not allowed in his store. He said he is the manager and has the right to turn people away. He was very aggressive towards customers he pushed a man backwards who tripped and fell backwards he refused to allow this man in. read more

Every two weeks I send Western Union money transfers to some poor families in Panama to help them buy food during the pandemic. I have been going to the Ralphs grocery store in Encinitas to do this. They are usually put off having to do this, but they grudgingly do it. Except today. I went in around noon and an assistant manager named "Joe" told me I would have to wait 3 hours! (The same Joe had twice told me to come back in the past -- about an hour each time). Since many of these money transfers are being sent by Hispanic people to their families in Latin America, I can infer that Joe gets away with it and runs them off (like he tried to do with me). The management of Ralphs Encinitas should be shamed for this and "Joe" should be reprimanded. All customers (and ethnicities) are important and should be treated with respect and courtesy. read more
