Located in the former 99 Cents store on Encinitas Blvd & ECR, it's tucked away but worth a visit. This one is well stocked, well-organized and has a very friendly staff. I usually come here to load up on fun snacks and I often find good quality shampoos and personal care products. I also usually find some nice berries or other fruit. If you enjoy discovering new things and you're not brand conscious, this is a great option to save tons of money on groceries. read more

It's the same drive time from home to here as is the Mira Mesa store, but a much better shopping experience: wide aisles, well-stocked shelves, greater product selection, price tags by products, clean and neat, and associates who are knowledgeable and helpful. read more

It's my goal to go to all the Grocery Outlets in the world and so far, this one might be my favorite. The aisles were so big! Usually I'm dodging and weaving in and out of the aisles at other locations, but this one, you could skip, roll, hop, jump and still have room for 2-3 carts. Well lit, super organized, lots of people working the floors, you can't go to far without finding someone to help. I needed help finding a very specific product that they don't carry many of and everyone was on the radio trying to help. Feels like they had good rapport with each other. Parking lot was huge. It shares the lot with a bunch of other businesses and banks. Like most Grocery Outlets, the meat and the produce aren't vast but the items on the shelves were pretty great. BEWARE, Do not buy fish from here! This is the second time I buy wild rockfish to make ceviche when I open the package it has an odor. I decided to marinate it for 12 hours with lime. On both times I'm ready to combine the veggies and it is BAD! I called management and he said there's nothing they can do. I suggested that maybe they should correct their labels. Both times fish was labeled that it had a 4 more days before I should use it by. Clearly not the truth! read more

I was super disappointed when the 99 cents only store closed and didn't know what would replace it. It was a pleasant surprise to come in to this market as I had never been to a grocery outlet store before. The produce section is nice and clean and easy to find items that you need. I saw many brands that I wasn't familiar with but that means I have new things/brands to try. I got Kit Kat Lemon Crisp for my husband. I had never seen this flavor before. He loved it! I purchased pastrami which was really good and I will definitely go back for that. All the produce I purchased was fresh and delicious. This is not close enough to come weekly but when in the area, I will definitely come by. read more

Store was decent when it first opened and has gone down hill since. While it is a bright new store the selection has gone from above average to terrible. I went from doing almost full shopping here to just buying a few things to today when I left the store empty-handed. Something that stands out is this location doesn't have a lot of products that are in the flyers and the ones they do have they will pull the product on the last day of the sale period for some reason when it should be the next day. This is not consistent with other Grocery Outlet locations. The location itself is pretty good because despite being in a busy area there is nothing near it really and it has its own parking lot (although it is a small lot with small spaces). Today I went in to buy a few things that were advertised in the flyer and I got here less than a week ago before and wanted to get them again. They were nowhere to be found. It wasn't like there is an empty section on the shelf and it was just out, the products were clearly pulled from the shelf despite the sale still going on. Not a single thing I wanted was available. Not a single thing I saw I wanted. When I first walked in today a group of staff were by the door just talking. I browsed the whole store, did not see a single product I wanted, left and saw them still talking to each other. Overall avoid this location, there is nothing worth getting here at this point. read more

The Grocery Outlet is a great little place for discount groceries. It's a bit like a treasure hunt at times; while they have some consistent produce, a lot of the products are in constant rotation. It's a great option especially if you're trying to shop organic on a budget. Most recently, I got some beautiful purple cabbage here as well as some organic milk. The store was clean and easy to navigate and I came here pretty late in the evening so it was easy to get in and out! read more

Brand new Grocery Outlet in Encinitas. I saw the grand opening was on Thursday but I missed it and went yesterday. Still got a couple nice reusable shopping bags as gifts. The store is spacious and clean (of course it is new) and the staff is super friendly. I noticed that the prices are more expensive for the same items that I buy at the GO of Mira Mesa, so I won't do the trip to Encinitas just to go to this store. I got several bottles of Spanish wine very well priced as well as cheese. I did not find some of the things that I get at other GOs and felt more aseptic. I found Anaïs Anaïs, the perfume of my childhood in Europe, always a sweet find. read more

First time here. First impression - clean, well organized, friendly. The meat dept was tiiiny and unimpressive but I found a great deal on wings. The produce seemed good and well priced. $.99 for a bunch of asparagus? Sold! The store had some interesting buys. Seafood stock for $2.99? Not sure it's good but I'll try it! On the other hand a Red Baron pizza for $11.99??? Name brands don't seem to be any less expensive. Bought their house brand crinkle fries for $1.99 and they were solid. The sesame snacks at $1.49 will keep me coming back. And I didn't have a coupon but they gave me $5 off and a free bag. The employees were awesome & super nice. From what I understand each Grocery Outlet is independently owned and operated. The owners of this Outlet had to be nuts to locate it here as there is so much supermarket competition in the immediate area (ie, Aldi, Ralph's, Vons, Sprouts, Stater Brothers, Trader Joe's). The market does have good prices and is well organized and clean. I just wish they had more interesting to discover items. The Grocery Outlet in Escondido tends to have more unique items that can be found to be delicious. read more

Employees were very rude and yelled at us for doing normal things in their store, we were forced to buy products because we tried them out in store without unpacking anything, or damaging it. The manager yelled at us, and another employee got mad at us for not putting everything away in the right spot when we decided we didn't want it. The manager then continued to watch us from the front of the store despite doing what she told us to. I am very disappointed in the store for its disrespectful behavior towards customers and I will NOT be going back. read more

I went there for the first time time and saw what seemingly looked like great deals. I have never been to any grocery outlet store and didn't realize their "sale" items are almost expired. All the of pantry items I got tasted stale. So be sure to check expiry dates. Even if the best before dates (for pantry items) are a month or two out, they are likely to be stale. read more

Went to the new Grocery Outlet in Encinitas. The store is large compared to ones that I have been to. Well stocked and a variety of items that I have not found in others. For the most part, their pricing is very good. However, if you really want to save $$$ you should know prices of the items you purchase from major stores and compare. The 99 cent store that was previously there served the community very well, but glad to see GO move there. Encinitas is a diverse community of various incomes, and I welcome them. read more
