Neither fog, nor rain will keep me from Trader Joe's.

So this is a new Trader Joe's for me and it's pretty much like the rest of them. Things are laid out a little differently so I have to walk different aisles to find what I used to find in the same aisle. But the service here is pretty much like all of them it's unparalleled. I asked a employee today what's new? He actually took me around about four aisles and said this is new, this is new, and I think you'll like this. I so wish other supermarkets would take the same attitude and pricing. I did find out today because we buy wine and liquor there and why did I almost buy 100% agave tequila at Vons for $47 when I checked online and equal tequila at Trader Joe's was $12.99. It's because they pay cash for all of their liquor so they get substantial discounts. I had no idea but it makes sense anyway Trader Joe's is my go to probably always will be thank you for everybody that works there and helps great parking at this Trader Joe's, which can be an issue at others.

We had to make a quick pit stop and by some beer and wine for my friend's party and sure enough we found what we wanted and at a good price. They had some food samples available and tonight's snack was a ginger bread cupcake and it was delicious.

Lining up to enter... #Covid-19 (4/8/20)
    Ron Q.

I'm surprised I haven't reviewed this Trader Joe's before as I've passed through on numerous occasions. Most recent visit was today, during the Covid-19 pandemic. Although the line to enter the store was loooonnng, like 30 people/ groups/ couples long, the line moved quickly. Staff were wiping down/ disinfecting carts and lining them up at the entrance as customers entered the store. Each customer received a nice "welcome" upon entering as well as a "thank you" as they left. Inside the store, most every item was well stocked. I only saw one item that seemed to be out that I was looking for, tofu. I suppose I could've asked an associate to see if there was anything in the back. However, there was another type right next to where the one I was looking for, so didn't bother. Also, customers were asked to follow a particular path around the whole store. Employees were stationed at the ends of the aisles guiding customers to prevent crowding and encourage social distancing. Some customers just had to skip around and go the wrong way, which was kind of annoying, but I'm sure they missed something in a particular aisle. Very thankful for the way Trader Joe's has handled this Coronavirus pandemic. Many store across the country have sold out of various store items and customers have gone home without some of the "essentials". However, from what I saw, most customers were in relatively good spirits upon entering, while shopping and leaving. Keep on Yelp'n!

Hate their frozen pie crust!! If you thaw in the refrigerator, it takes 8 hrs to thaw, BUT it rolls out all broken!

Love this Trader Joe's. If you see something buy it or it'll be gone in a few weeks. Their employees are friendly and helpful, I don't like their refrigerated foods (wraps, sandwiches, salads, stuffed salmon, etc.) they always seem to be recalled for something or other, blah.

I asked if she was bringing out more of a specific one, that wasn't available and she said no, as that wasn't very popular. She did however, state that she could make one for me. I was impressed and waiting while she went back to the counter. There were a few other employees at the juice bar as well a few fold in line, so I knew it would be awhile. So I waited and watched the line disappear, and waited some more. Eventually, I looked up to not even see the girl that was " suppose" to be helping me at the counter anymore. In disbelief, I just went to ring up my other items in my cart. I get if you don't want to make something, but please don't lie and have a customer waiting for something that you NEVER intended to make. Truly disappointed.

Wyatt got a KOREAN CRACK sandwich (grilled trip tip, Korean BBQ sauce, smoked cheddar, kimchi, and crispy fried onions) on a brioche burger bun. I ordered a WHISKEY CRACK (grilled trip tip, whiskey-peppercorn sauce, blue cheese, pickled onions, and arugula) on a ciabatta roll. as is our habit, we traded half a sandwich for half a sandwich. both were amazing. a couple of days later, the wife-unit and I were headed to Solana Beach from Carlsbad, and stopped in Cardiff at SEASIDE MARKET. the sandwich we shared was not as good as the one Wyatt and I shared. instead of a dense, chewy ciabatta roll, this time the sandwich was served on a squishy, wonder bread roll. major downgrade. anyway, pretty darn amazing and totally worth an occasional drive down the coast. plus, you gotta love the view.

I am not sure what I was expecting (maybe like a grocery store refrigerated and freezer section,) but I was surprised at how it was laid out. It was three aisles of the lower banks of freezers, with full wall freezer along two walls, and a few dry goods which makes sense because everything that they have is frozen at ideally the peak of freshness. It was very clean, looked a bit futuristic and was well coded. With different color signage to indicate where the poultry, beef, pork, seafood and prepared foods were. Easy to head to the section you were looking for. We looked around the store a lot and the folks who work there were very attentive. They asked us a number of times if we needed any help, answered any questions that we had, and even gave us some suggestions and background on certain cuts. We ended up going with some picanha, a couple other types of steaks, and a couple options of seafood. All the pricing was all very reasonable and now we have a fully stocked freezer.

The meat and seafood department -- my favorite department -- is a standout, offering high-quality cuts of beef, chicken and pork, along with fresh and sushi-grade seafood. The deli and prepared foods section is phenomenal! And it's full service. They have Boar's Head meats and a wide assortment of cheeses, along with house-made salads, sandwiches and ready-to-eat meals. The market also offers a bakery selection with pastries and desserts, as well as artisan breads that pair well with the store's specialty items. My absolute favorite item in this section are the chips, which are fresh, thin, crispy and perfectly salted. I will stop in for the chips alone. Beyond the fresh departments, Harvest carries a thoughtful mix of pantry staples and other products. Shoppers can find specialty oils and vinegars, unique seasonings, sauces, olives and chocolates. The wine selection excellent as well. The overall shopping experience is clean, friendly and personal, and the staff are generally very helpful and knowledgeable.
