Another pit stop to one of my favourite haunts along highway 50 in Shingle Springs. I wanted a soup of some kind and the thought of pho peaked my interest. The broth was not bad, not as good as a Vietnamese restaurant would serve but passable. I have to say when I got my order, that was the tiniest bowl of pho I've ever seen, normally at other Vietnamese restaurants, the bowl is used from their serving is the size is a bowl that's used for sharing between others. I've enjoyed mostly everything I've received and found most of their dishes to have great flavor and be fresh. Now for the things I've tried and definitely stay clear of is any of the premade stuff, including some of the pastry items. The customer service is usually friendly, they will routinely ask if you want to use any credits or comps. Ambience is overall pretty modern with various seating arrangements for large groups and couples. Hmm. This is the only place on the casino floor that is open 24/7. All other places close before 10pm but if you're there to gamble like myself. You'll definitely get the munchies during the later hours. After 10pm at Verona they only serve food that is already prepared. So basically sweets, pastries and sandwiches. It's better than nothing I guess. Although at this casino (Red Hawk), you seem far from everything. Downtown Placerville is not too far away and we were able to DoorDash around midnight and got some good food from nearby restaurants. Seating is plentiful and they have booths (diner style) and lots of them. Drinks are free and you just serve yourself, same as the condiments. It worked for us but rather have gotten some hot food. Don't expect too much though, the food is not bad and the line may take awhile because everyone uses their comps here. Me and my parents like to get half a sandwich and soup usually and we'll get some pastries. They have salads, Asian, Mexican, all American food options. You can dine there or order to go and there's plenty of seating. No point in buying a drink when you can get free drinks on the floor. On 7/12 around 10:30 PM, I purchased food at the Verona coffee shop near the stage. I asked the employee to charge the food to my loyalty then comps. My total was $41 so I was expecting to sign for the transaction. The employee told me not to worry and she bypassed the signature. She also said that couldn't give me a receipt until my food was given to me. I didn't question it as she sounded like she may know what she's doing. At midnight, I attempted to make a purchase in the gift shop and they told me that my comp balance was too low. I figured that the employee at Verona incorrectly charged the full balance of the food to my comps and didn't use my loyalty vouchers. It was recommended that I talk to a manager at the main Verona coffee shop. I ended up speaking with Trevor and he asked what employee helped me and I pointed her out as she was currently cashiering for the restaurant. As Trevor was helping me the employee rudely interjected with attitude and said the remembered helping me and she didn't recall seeing any vouchers. I told her that I had specifically told her to first charge my loyalty and then comps and if she didn't see it then maybe should have told me so that I can check to see if I had claimed the promotion on my card. She rolled her eyes and rudely said that she doesn't remember me saying that but "whatever". She also said she knew to first to look for loyalty vouchers before using comps. Trevor stated that he was going to cancel the transaction and bill me again correctly. I advised him that the loyalty vouchers were from prior to midnight. He said, well if that's the case, he couldn't help me and told me to go to the rewards center for help. I told him that was ridiculous and asked the employee for her name, once again she rolled her eyes and rudely said "Katelynn." In the 13 plus years, I've been going to Red Hawk, I've never been rudely treated by a worker that's supposed to be in the service industry. Katelynn needs to be retrained on how to deal with the public and lose the entitled attitude. I'm not saying the customer is always right, what I'm saying is tha the customer isn't always wrong which appears to be the attitude Katelynn has towards your guests that spend a lot of money. The workers and standards at your dining establishments are dropping and need to be addressed. The visit prior, I made a purchase at Apex and paid extra for chocolate chip cookies on a to go order and when I got home, the cookies weren't in the bag. read more

You place your order at the counter and someone delivers the food to your table in a few minutes. If you're a Red Hawk Casino rewards card member, you can use your comps to pay plus get at least a 5% discount. While service is minimal, we've always been greeted and helped by friendly staff. You'll need to ask for utensils at the food counter sometimes as they won't necessarily bring it when the food arrives at your table. You'll also need to get your own condiments (ketchup, mustard) and napkins at the back counter. There are plenty of tables, chairs, and booths. Plus, it's bright and usually clean in the dining area. The dishes we've tried have been really good: loco moco, hot dog, reuben sandwich, fried chicken avocado sandwich. The cashier was super helpful I came here knowing it wasn't a Starbucks or hipster coffee shop. But I needed a nitro cold brew or espresso vs the free hotel coffee at the hotel and casino. These are automatic espresso machines. No cold brew. So I asked if she could make an iced vanilla latte and she did! It tastes exactly what I had asked for. This is constructive criticism and in no way written to bash Verona as staff is nice and quick foods when you're starving. Anyway first time to order beef pho and sorry to say "worst" pho ever. Ordered it to go and when I got in the room, the noodles, beef and soup were in same container, so the soup was all drained and dried it became chowmein instead. Unfortunately I have to say the worst beef pho ever. I tried to do some fixing, but no success it tasted really bad, I think this should be taken off the menu. The least the cook could have done is put the soup in a separate container. I don't think I would ever ever order beef pho again from Verona. Please note we don't expect 100% perfect replica of authentic Vietnamese pho but looking for much more decent taste and presentation. I have been here a handful of different times and to be clear the employees who work the register and the food expo are amazing and consistently giving great customer service. My big problem is with the manager woman who always has the most sour look on her face and appears like she hates her customers and her job. Seriously lady, fix your face, you're in customer service. I had an issue where I ordered 3 orders of fries (it was $24) and all I got was one small box of fries that was maybe worth 1 order. I went back to ask for more because I paid $24 for them and the young girl who helped me was super nice and understanding, when she went to talk to the manager woman in question I saw the manager get visably irritated, didn't even attempt to talk to me, and very much came off like "take your stupid fries and shut up". And I only got like a handful more. I seriously think you should consider a new manager or send her for some basic customer service training because she is actually awful. Food was amazing. Went in for a quick lunch with my mother before we gambled. I ordered their loco moco and my mother had their fries. Which were solid fries. Reminded me of Checkers fries. Also added an eclair. Which I took home and devoured. The mf was huge lol. I loved the service and how clean the establishment was. Quick service 10/10. Nice menu. Not too many things but just the right amount of selections to please everyone's pallets. Ambiance is nice and quiet with the casino noise in the background of course. The service was so very off putting that I had to immediately write up this review. The cashier loudly and not so subtly admitted that they placed the order incorrectly from the party ahead of me. Instead of serving sourdough like they ordered, cashier said something along the lines of "it's okay just give them the white bread it's not like they are going to notice". I have been to the Verona cafe a few times now. I have come to look forward to seeing the friendly people who work there. The food is great & I especially love their hot cafe mocha's. It feels nice to be remembered whenever I come in. I enjoy talking to Makayla. She has a bubbly; infectious personality. I try not to take up too much of her time because I know she works hard & is very busy. I don't know the other staff members names, but they too, are so nice. Horrible service, rude and dirty. My husband ordered, waited, got his food. The fruit was bad. Then he noticed they forgot his chips. I went to place my order, double checked that they didn't forget anything. They forgot my pumpkin bread so I told the lady and another cashier yelled out rudely, is it on your receipt, so I yelled back yes it it. So another gal goes and gets it and with a scoul on her face hands it to me. I said you know you can smile. This is at 9 am. They must all hate their job, idk. This little cute coffee/tea shop is right inside the RedHawk Casino. I am nursing and so I wanted a nonalcoholic drink, but still a small treat. I decided to stop by here and order a large tea. The staff was super friendly and were more than willing to comply with my request. I asked for a large tea, no caffeine, steamed almond milk, and honey inside plus a warmed up coffee cake. I don't usually eat bread, I avoid it at most times, but places like this get me every time. Their pastry display looked incredible and it weighs heavy on my heart and I cave without a doubt. The display had mouth watering slices of cake, muffins, scones, coffee cake, and pastries. I really enjoyed my tasty treat while I sat and enjoyed the tv screens- and while my husband got to play the money slots. I would suggest this place and I'd definitely return. read more

Before heading home we decided to eat. Everything on their menu and the pictures looks and sounds good. We are disappointed that it was premade. They are not cook fresh they microwave them. Since Starbucks thinks it's okay to raise the prices for their drinks, I make a special pit stop at Hawk's Coffee located inside Red Hawk Casino. To my surprise, their Peppermint Mocha turned out to taste a lot better than that of Starbucks. I was given the option to have white or dark chocolate mocha, which I've never been given at Starbucks. In addition, the service was quick, hardly ever a line, and staff is friendly! Definitely recommend others to check this place out and to try their Peppermint Mocha (made with white mocha instead of dark) either iced or hot, this Holiday Season! read more

Just left the casino. I got hungry at the casino went here to Hawks snack shop, got nachos and was eating them and there was long blonde hair in the cheese or whatever. I will never eat anything from there. For one in a eating kiosk your suppose to have you hair up not loose in face , their hair was in a pony tail and what not .
