I keep forgetting to write a review for DC Access, and I am now finally getting around to it…read more I've been a customer since this past summer when I moved across the street and learned that Verizon Fios was not being offered in my new location. I work online, and so I need to have a reliable connection-- and that's when a friend of mine recommended trying out DC Access. A long time customer of Verizon, I was wary of going with a small, local company. Long story short, I could not be happier. Frankly, I feel like DC Access is better than my previous service with Fios. For one, the internet connection feels much more reliable now than it was before (maybe it has to do with the number of people who are on it? I don't know, but I haven't had -- fingers crossed-- any outages or lapses in quality). The other great part about DC Access is that, since it's a small local company, they are very responsive. I don't have to wait on the phone for ages or swap emails with nameless customer service reps. Anyhow, if DC Access offers coverage in your area, I highly recommend it.

My internet connection went down. One call to DC Access and Katy (extremely competent…read morereceptionist) got me sorted in no time. She had Tony & Darnell at my apartment pronto. Between them they solved the problem (a worn out, ancient, cable, along with a vintage router). Both replaced quickly. DC Access a God send to our community - very affordable and no waiting days for an in-home visit, then staying put at home for half a day waiting for someone to turn up. Thank you DC Access. DO NOT RECOMMEND -- BILLING, SECURITY & CUSTOMER SERVICE NIGHTMARE…read more I have only had Xfinity Internet for two months since relocating to Upper Marlboro, and although it was cheaper than Verizon, it has been one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. On July 14, we received what appeared to be a legitimate Xfinity call to pay our bill. The caller had our information, and we even received an Xfinity verification text. We paid, received an email saying the bill was paid, and later discovered serious concerns that our payment and account information had been compromised. When I called Xfinity, I was told my account would be credited by July 20. Instead, I was charged another late fee. I called again on July 27 and was passed around to representatives who gave conflicting information, read scripts, and continued asking me to pay an incorrect balance instead of fixing the problem. Even my installation experience was terrible. The technician asked personal questions unrelated to the installation and made me so uncomfortable that I asked my husband to hurry home. Two months in, I've dealt with security concerns, incorrect billing, late fees, broken promises, and terrible customer service. I will be canceling as soon as Xfinity corrects and zeros out my account. I would not recommend Xfinity to anyone. The cheaper price is NOT worth the frustration.

I have only been in twice and they got the job done both instances. My two visits were to buy music that I've heard playing. Being from VA, I have always been unbiased when it comes to GoGo. I actually prefer Bmore Club Music more. But hey, Central Communications keeps the tradition alive. I am glad that they do and I got a lot of love and respect for them for doing so. For $10.00 you can get a nice Cd to play for a weekend trip, a cookout or to kick it old school with family and friends.

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY.

Clear is a cut-rate service provider with serious reliability problems…read more While there are random slowdowns and brief outages with Clear service, when it works, it works ok. The issue that really sticks a knife in a customer's back is the prolonged outages, which happen every couple or few months and can last from 24 hours to a week. Like other vendors, Clear outsources as much as it can. Customer service is sourced to India, local infrastructure support is sourced, if my experience is typical, to pretty much anybody with a toolbox and a truck. As I write this, I am 72 hours into a complete outage, despite living two blocks from a Clear transmission point. Customer support, when they do acknowledge an outage, routinely predict a "10pm" fix. This weekend, I've heard that three times. What distinguishes Clear from other providers is that they appear to have made the calculation that it is cheaper to rebate the minority of customers persistent enough to demand compensation or even lose one or two in the wake of an outage rather than pay some contractor overtime to actually fix something. How would that make you feel if you really, really needed to get something done? The bottom line: if you cannot afford random, prolonged, and unannounced service cuts, avoid Clear like the customer service plague it truly is.
