after 3 visits and no one at Verizon and ,2 hours on the phone, no one at Apple could not could not solve the problem of not getting any text from non iPhones, I was rewarded with a refurbished phone. #1 - In-store customer service varies from very good 4**** to mediocre 2**. Watch out for things like refused extended warrantees that are still on your initial bill for your new phone. I can't say it is the local service staff's fault as this has happened even with on-line purchases from Verizon. #2 - Verizon Home Wireless internet in 93921 started off far better than AT&T DSL, which still stinks and delivers far less than advertised speeds, but since November 2017, Verizon has become as poor as AT&T: 2.5 GB download & 0.5 GB upload, which is darn near as bad as a 9600 baud modem. They have sold too many accounts for the single cell tower serving most of 93921, and have no additional construction planned. It may be better in other local zip codes, ask another customer. I heard they are adding towers in Monterey. Still fast enough to be useful on 3G & 4G devices when roaming. read more

Bad customer service. They sold us a phone, and it was very expensive. A few months later, some of its functions stopped. We took it to the store where we bought it, and are paying for it on a plan. They told my wife it was not their problem, that they couldn't help her/us, and that we could take it up with the phone's manufacturer. The better part is that a Verizon phone tech tried really hard to fix it, but without success. Now we are obligated to keep paying Verizon for a phone that doesn't work. read more

The Pacific Ocean ate my phone and my wallet. Okay, I lost it at one of the gorgeous beaches in Monterey. High tide swallowed both of them as I was jumping in a frenzy jolly enjoying the scenery; after I found that every phone number and tangible pieces of my identity were gone, I panicked. Anyhow, James at this store saved me from my distress. I got a new phone after he verified my identity with a plethora of questions. He didn't even try to sell me an upgraded version...I opted for a prettier one with cooler features myself. He understood my dilemma and presented me with my new maroon LG enV2 quickly complete with a discount and rebate. I really love this Verizon store, or rather, I should say I have had really great experiences with their staff member, Ruth. She is always amazing, so knowledgeable and helpful, friendly, relaxed, and often complementary! I'll be 60 this year, and like many people my age I often struggle with current technology and the frequent changes to it. Ruth is terrific at explaining things very understandably. She's worth asking for directly and as a five-year employee of the store, I bet she knows just about everything you'll ever need. read more

I think things may have changed here. My husband and I had a unique issue involving an iPhone, and Shay provided an excellent customer experience. In fact, we ended up purchasing 2 new phones and an iPad, plus accessories. I walked into the store cranky and ready for battle, but Shay, a new employee, and her mentor (whose name I've sadly forgotten) handled every question with knowledge and an appropriate sense of humor. I've never had such a pleasant experience buying a phone plus contract. P.S. To Verizon...this woman has a real knack for connecting with customers. Verizon has TERRIBLE customer service. The people at the store are either unhelpful on purpose or incompetent. They are unreachable by telephone and text, but they take a lot of your time before the automated system hangs up on you. Is there a reasonable alternative? The only thing they are willing and able to do is sell you an expensive device. read more

After my latest altercation with a another carrier (that forced me to switch carriers after 12 years), the transition couldn't have been smoother. Verizon "bought" my iPhone 6s, gave me and brand new IDENTICAL phone and help facilitate the transfer of info after the latest backup. I was in and out for less than $70 in about 15 minutes. I still had time to grub at Islands on my 1hr lunch break. It really couldn't have gone any better. I'd have given her 6 stars if it was possible. I went into Verizon to get a new phone a few weeks ago. I waited 40 minutes before being helped. Once I was helped I was told that the iphone 6 which is what I was originally interested in was outdated now and the man helping me suggested the iphone SE. I asked what the differences were between the two and was told that they were 'basically the same' but he did not elaborate. I wished I was told what the difference was but the man helping me did not seem to know or care to explain. Long story short, I was sent home with my new phone, not activated, not having the sim card transferred over. I asked many questions about how to get the sim card out and how to activate the phone. I went home and was still unable to do this. I had to go to another Verizon (on Playa in Seaside) because the Delmonte store had closed in the time I was trying to activate my phone. I went to the other store and they set my phone up in less time than it took for me to ask the questions about set up that I asked at the other store. I don't understand why the man didn't just set up the phone for me. The other store said that they always set up phones before they leave the store and they were unsure why mine was not set up for me. Save yourself the hassle! Go to the Playa store! Not the Del Monte mall one! read more

When in to get a new phone when my had issues. (would not boot up) I got a pantech from Erik Ausmus the store manger. Awhile later my new phone had issues that my old phone had before it died. i went back in and Erik helped me do a factory reset. It started to have same issues after a week. I came back in and Erik did a data reset. It continued to have issues. i went back in and he got me a factory reset phone in the mail that works fine now. read more

Taking a trip to Verizon has never been my favorite thing to do, but I needed to upgrade my device after some recent reliability issues. I was dreading the inevitable trip into the store because, as some reviews have mentioned, waits are long, and sales staff can be borderline rude when you have a hard time understanding frustratingly complex cell phone plans. But since it had to be done, my daughter and I headed to Verizon this past monday. We could not have imagined a better experience. Our salesperson, Jon K., was the consummate professional. He knew what he was talking about, and addressed us patiently without any hint of arrogance when we needed him to repeat things he had already explained once. He understood exactly what to do with our family plan and the proper way to upgrade everyone, in the proper order, at the best price. He was incredibly engaging, and fun to talk to which made the process painless and go by very quickly, even though it did take a while (something to do with the size of my daughters iCloud backup). I can't emphasize enough what a joy it was to work with him. For anyone needing to head in to the Del Monte location, I suggest you ask for Jon personally. He won't try and sell you a bunch of unnecessary stuff and will put in the time needed to solve the problem. We will be back in a week to upgrade another family member but only when Jon K is working. read more

Had not stopped into this store in a long time. My latest visit was painless and I'm so glad I went in. My friend had spilt her Madras (a screwdriver with a splash of cran or is it vodka cran with a splash of oj?) and I was without my cell phone (my Storm) for a couple months. Luckily, I have an alternate cell phone which kept me alive in the meantime. I walked in with an old Razor to have it brought back to life but I had been paying for insurance all this time and had no idea. I left with a brand new Storm that had been updated with all the new software updates. I was stoked. The service was quick and super friendly. They have a great crew working there and don't be afraid to walk in, you are in good hands. read more

I gave them three star because they are so good at selling their service even though they only can deliver half of what they promise I have no problem with cellphone reception but very little data I can't surf the net unless I m at home on my WiFi I got the unlimited call text and datas and the data are pretty much useless hear on Monterey peninsula but if I pay more for premium I can get better internet connection so what they are saying is that they can give you what you pay for but only if you pay more for what they already promises you so if you only want a good cell service theare great but if you want internet and datas don't bother look elsewhere read more

PLEASE BE CAREFUL After attempting to go into my local Verizon store (not a retail location)in order to purchase a Samsung Galaxy S5 under the device payment plan, a plan used to keep unlimited data and break up the full cost of a phone over monthly payments, I was told that no such program existed by my the sales rep, Johnathan. Johnathan told me he would be able to charge me $474.81, give me an S5 and switch it to my second line. After the initial charge of $474.81, Johnathan then told me it would be another $200++ in order to get a Galaxy S5. At this point, I instantly asked for my money to be refunded and the process stopped. Johnathan left and after several minutes of him not returning I approached the manager, who assured me she would refund the money and I should expect it in 3-5 days. 3-5 days later I called Verizon customer service where I was hung up on the first time, and the second time when asked to speak to a supervisor I was again hung up on. Finally, I got a hold of a supervisor for Verizon who had a three way call with myself and the store manager. He told me to come in and they would take care of the refund. The Verizon phone rep called me back and advised me to ask for a District Manager if they did not provide my refund. When I arrived to the store, the manager, Francisco, took me to the back and told me that instead of a refund I could give him another $190 and he would give me one Galaxy S5 today and send me another free one in the mail. He then told me that as long as I brought the phones back in and signed my name to a 2GB contract plan that he could work the system and get my unlimited data back, but not to mention it to anyone else because only he knew how. He then took a copy of my driver's license and debit card and told me to come back later that night and he would have the refund documents for meI returned to the store, Francisco was gone, and another rep, Andrew, told me that Francisco could not do as he promised and that my refund had not been processed. When I asked to speak to the District Manager, I was told that I did not want to do that and there was no reason for it. When I persisted, I was told the manager was on vacation and I could not speak to them. I was contacted by Andrew the next day and was told that the District Manager, Jennifer Smith, was in the store having a meeting with the manager. I left work to go in and speak with her or the manager. Upon my arrival, I was told they were both unavailable. I again called into Verizon's customer service, immediately asked for a supervisor and had to again explain the entire situation. The supervisor transferred me to the fraud department. The fraud department heard my story and immediately recommended that I go back to the store, call the Monterey police and open a full investigation. They then transferred me to their legal department. At this point, I submitted to the Better Business Bureau and received an email from Mark Baeza, in Executive Relations. He asked me to call him so we could further discuss the issue. Mark let me know that after 2 weeks, my refund was finally being processed and should be in my account, nope... He then let me know that in addition to refunding my money, Verizon would be charging my account $474.81 which I would be responsible for. (wait...what?!?). Mark then told me the device payment plan ended this week and that's why I was told it wasn't offered. However, the screen shots I have from chatting with a Verizon Rep clearly state that this program is available at every retail location. So who's right Verizon? Obviously not the customer. Here is the issue Verizon, your sales person misrepresented the store and was poorly trained on the programs offered or is simply incentivized in such a way that has caused corruption and negatively affects all of us as consumers. I am asking that my money be immediately refunded, for appropriate action to be taken by your corporation against your employees who have wrongfully broken the law and for you to reach out to me as a customer of over ten years and keep my business. read more

We have visited this store on two occasions and both times we received horrible customer service. The general feeling in the store is that you should be lucky to be in their presence. We had a problem with our order and unfortunately were passed to Brian Cogle. He presented himself as a "solutions manager" but offered anything but solutions. He acted like it was an inconvenience to help us with the mistake that Verizon had made and spoke to us with a condescending tone. Fortunately, in the same shopping center, there is another phone service provider that offers excellent customer service at a better price. Don't waste your time with this Verizon store. read more

They still get one star (less if I could) but I did want to mention one positive thing. After calling corporate, they instructed my mom to go back in and get a phone. While I was hesitant from my earlier experience, we did end up having a pleasant experience with Andrew. He played no games and just got my mom the phone she needed. He was very polite and couldn't be more helpful. I still highly recommend going to another Verizon location but if you must come here, ask for Andrew. He seems to be the only non douche. read more

Watch out for the sales Rep named Brian! I went into the store and was sold on false promotions and promised a credit that never came forth. When I called to inquire I was told by Verizon "I was misinformed" that's great, but what is Verizon gonna do? NOTHING! I then called the store to talk to the manager of the store, he redirected me to the same shady sales representative, who simply said "I don't recall that." I'm sure he recalls his commission check considering we spent almost $1000 that day in all of the fake promotional things we were promised. The sad thing is I was gonna leave Verizon for sprint, but decided to stay because of the great customer service. What a joke! read more

Whoever we finally got to sit down with was rude and condescending, we had watched him already be rude to his manager and I hoped he wouldn't be the one to help us (I was wrong). Bought the very first Samsung Galaxy Android cell phone from Tmobile Store at Kahala Mall Honolulu. At that time, android was unheard of. Apple was the only one available until android was introduced. I was adventurous so I bought, store gave us lessons on how to use it. It was liberating! I have only used a Galaxy cell phone for all these many years. It has been a joy and has improved my life, making it easier and smarter. When I had to move, no TMOBILE coverage in my little isolated town, I had to go with Verizon. Spotty coverage, new phone required. Moved back to Honolulu retrieved new Android Galaxy 3. Worth the move, Graduated to S5 and have been thrilled with it ever since. Verizon coverage adequate UNTIL a problem arises. There has been no way to speak to a live agent, only nonsense, recordings that will keep you getting the same messages for hours. It happened in Sept. and still trying. Going to Verizon store in Monterey no help. Manager claims here's the right number to call. Of course it's a same fake number. Decided to go back to TMOBILE after six weeks of trying to delete my account. Bills continuing, ignoring my calls, fictitious corporate phone number. Would not release me from my account to transfer number. Had to buy new phone and will leave Verizon. They make it so difficult to reach out to them that I just gave up. May be its a way to keep customers. Beware. read more

Everyone at the store is very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. In particular, I received outstanding support from henry. He seemed to really know the ins and outs of the technology behind the phones. Henry and his manager joe gave me a great deal on a new droid 4 phone and even gave me a discount on a few useful accessories. Kristi finished off the excellent service by showing me how to set up a few of my phone`s programs and applications. Ok so for a phone company... there not too bad! I have been through almost every carrier in the last 5-7 years sprint tmobile att verizon metro .... u name it! And really truly ALL of them SUCK .... But.... I can say the last 5 times ive dealt with verizon in this location it has been a positive experience. My phone has had a mind of its own the last few weeks (just shy of my 1 year ex. warr) It would randomly freeze, the speaker phone stopped working, it would turn off.. all kinds of fun stuff soo I went in to see what could be done Glynn was very helpful and sent me a replacement phone in less than 5 days! sweet! I went back today and the girls behind the counter were so helpful... She offered to switch my pix over all 250 of them! She said it would take about 1 hr ... ehh had to go.. but said I could leave my phone when I had more time! ahhh Sunday when I get off work while im getting a pedi?... that's easy! Went to this location to upgrade to iPhone 5 and I can tell you I literally had the BEST experience at a Verizon store ever. Ramon was hilarious and knowledgeable in every aspect of the transaction. His partner was just as knowledgeable. I forgot his name, Chris, Sean maybe. All I know is hands down it is employees like these guys that keep me a Verizon customer despite the higher prices. However, while i was there i overheard Dante (who i noticed was an employee from the nametag) excessively cursing and swearing to one of his friends that had come in to show him a backpack or something resembling one.
