I know most people only Yelp about a Verizon store when they have an axe to grind because somebody kept them waiting 8 1/2 minutes to make an $800 purchase. That's foolish. This place is a very pleasant store with an attentive, helpful staff. They help their many customers (myself included) with a wide variety of questions, issues and processes, while they're making an important purchase. You don't have to ask for him, but if you are lucky enough to have Nick help you, you'll be in good hands.

Beware of this store when you are going for "trade in" old computer…read more I went there with my old computer, knowing it was $180 after checking on their website. At the cashier, young man examined my computer very carefully and took out protective cover. No scratch, ding or any visible damage. There were some dust and fingerprint and some spot that could be easily removed with wipes. He took out some wet wipes from a can and cleaned surface leaving some liquid on the surface. He typed some info and said $165. Told him he must've input some wrong info. He called old lady on next register. She touched the computer where the guy left cleaning liquid. I believe she thought I brought this computer with some liquid on it even before I enter the store. She was yelling at me " This is filthy, filthy, filthy, you had some liquid on it " Then wiped her hand with the same wet wipe from the same can. I was stunned. She then called her manager, Chris. He came and typed up on computer with some info after examining computer so carefully including every corner and surface. He told me this is only $125. Wow, He downplayed the valuation. He was saying this was not like new condition. and had to be fair because there was some smudge on the surface of the computer that evaporated cleaning solution from the previous guy who wiped. I told him this was from the young guy who cleaned computer. He said this is not new condition. I was saying this was 4 years old computer and no scratch and discoloration. He was almost gaslighting me to believe this was only fair condition. He even said there should be keyboard fabric to be like new condition. WOW unbelievable! To me, it was some kind of emotional revenge from him because I let his cashier spend time too long (20min) or giving them hard time or something similar. The whole crew behind was talking like" He is saying same thing again and again" It was very humiliating and I felt like it was like routine to them. At this moment, It was not money that mattered to me. I wanted to know if the manager, Chris was making right call claiming my laptop rating fair after 30 min enough humiliating situation. I left the store and headed to Levittown bestbuy. yes, just right after all this situation. The cashier checked my laptop. He did not see any crack, scratch or ding and gave me $180 credit right away as " like new condition" No questions whatsoever. At the end, it was happy ending with twisted emotional rollercoaster If you saw bestbuy ad from their website, saying "Trading in your used tech is easy Discover trade-in offers and see what your old device is worth" Don't go to westbury bestbuy. So... Due to THEIR error (shipping a questionably "new" item that didn't work correctly), I was now going to be forced to be without a transmitter until they get the old one back. 5 - I asked for them to ship new one while I kept the old one. Upon receipt of properly operating transmitter, I would return their defective one (in order to maintain training for my me and my dog). NOPE! Their "process" won't allow them to ship me a properly working item while I still kept the one they sent earlier, unless... I pay for a new one FIRST! In other words... I have to literally pay for their mistake. 6 - They had all my payment information (and could have charged me if I decided to keep the inoperative transmitter (Why I would do that, I have NO idea.) and they were going to send a return shipment label for the broken one (so they had the means to track the return)... NOPE! 7 - I went from the guy that answers the 800 number to "Scarlett" (that sounded more Hindi than American) in "escalations" to "Jane" (Scarlett's Hindi neighbor) and still got nowhere. 8 - Their business practices are simply wrong. If you ship someone a POS item, then you need to make it right. I will NEVER do business with these people and I cannot recommend them for ANYONE - unless you like getting screwed over. Tip for consumers: I truly have nothing good to say about the business practices of this company. They know they're wrong and only want your money. Products used: Dogtra 280C Transmitter

I purchased a…read morecharger for a Norelco electric shaver, along with a three-year protection plan, thinking that the protection plan would cover the charger for incidental damage, which the manufacturer's warranty normally does not cover. The protection plans are sold by a company named New Leaf Service Contracts, Inc. that's based in Irving, TX. You don't find out, until after you have already purchased the protection plan, that it only covers manufacturing defects and not incidental damage. Seriously?! This is 2023. No one sells protection plans that only extend the manufacturer's warranty, because everyone knows those are a rip-off. Any manufacturing defects in a product, especially an electronic product, are going to manifest themselves within the first year of operation. What's more, I was told that the protection plan only covered the shaver itself, not the charger. Even when I told them that I had purchased the protection plan for the charger and that the charger was a replacement for the one that came with the electric shaver when I had bought it a few years ago, they still refused to budge. I don't know who this New Leaf Service Contracts, Inc. is that's selling these so-called "protection plans", but do yourself a favor and don't waste your money on it, because if you file a claim against it, they will undoubtedly give you a b.s. story that it doesn't cover the product you purchased. They are scam artists and I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau.

R.I.P. Acclaim: 1987-2004. 17 years…read more I'm surprised a Yelp listing existed for Acclaim considering the company went defunct in 2004, the same year Yelp was founded. Acclaim was best known for publishing video games in the 80s, 90s, and 2000s. I know them best for publishing the Mortal Kombat and NBA Jam games on the Super Nintendo. Acclaim was also the parent company of LJN from 1990 to 1995. LJN gets a lot of flak, but I liked them because they published some really fun professional wrestling games using the WWF license. Memorable Acclaim and LJN titles to me (most of which I still own) include: Acclaim * Wizards & Warriors (NES, 1987) * Double Dragon II: The Revenge (NES, 1990) * The Simpsons: Bart vs. the Space Mutants (NES, 1991) * Double Dragon III: The Sacred Stones (NES, 1991) * Mortal Kombat (Super NES, 1993) * NBA Jam (Super NES, 1994) * Mortal Kombat II (Super NES, 1994) * NBA Jam: Tournament Edition (Super NES, 1995) * WWF WrestleMania: The Arcade Game (Super NES, 1995) * True Lies (Super NES, 1995) * Mortal Kombat 3 (Super NES, 1995) * College Slam (Super NES, 1996) * Turok: Dinosaur Hunter (N64, 1997) * South Park (N64, 1999) * Crazy Taxi (PS2 and GameCube, 2001) I'm pretty sure Wizards & Warriors was my first experience with an Acclaim game. As a kid, I found the game to be very adventurous as well as a bit mystical and mysterious with the game's magical elements. The box art and music, especially the former, were awesome. Bart vs. the Space Mutants and Double Dragon III were both difficult. Mortal Kombat on the Super NES was amazing at the time. The graphics, animation, and sound were incredible for a home console, superior to the Sega Genesis version. However, as we all know, the Genesis version had blood while the Super NES version did not. Nintendo learned their lesson and quickly changed their stance on blood by the time MK2 was released. MK2 for the Super NES was incredible as were the NBA Jam games. These games truly brought the arcade into people's homes. I specifically got True Lies because the game got high ratings in gaming magazines; Electronic Gaming Monthly, GamePro, Nintendo Power -- I forget which one(s). It was decent. I liked the movie too. College Slam was basically NBA Jam with college teams. Turok and South Park for the Nintendo 64, I got those used and didn't play them much. South Park wasn't a very good game as I recall. LJN * The Amazing Spider-Man (Game Boy, 1990) * Back to the Future (NES, 1989) * Back to the Future Part II & III (NES, 1990) * Friday the 13th (NES, 1989) * Jaws (NES, 1987) * The Karate Kid (NES, 1987) * A Nightmare on Elm Street (NES, 1989) * The Uncanny X-Men (NES, 1989) * Who Framed Roger Rabbit (NES, 1989) * WWF Raw (Super NES, 1994) * WWF Royal Rumble (Super NES, 1993) * WWF Super WrestleMania (Super NES, 1992) * WWF Superstars (Game Boy, 1991) * WWF WrestleMania Challenge (NES, 1990) * WWF WrestleMania: Steel Cage Challenge (NES, 1992) Come on, guys. LJN wasn't that bad. OK, I admit Spider-Man, Back to the Future, and Jaws were pretty bad, but we still played them, didn't we? Friday the 13th was scary for an 8-bit NES game with its eerie cabin environments and jump scares. A Nightmare on Elm Street and X-Men were fun to play with two players. I remember one of my childhood best friends rented the latter from Action Video and I spent the night at his house one weekend, playing that game a lot. A Nightmare on Elm Street could be played with *four* players, but who actually played that game with four players? Probably a very small percentage. I liked how Who Framed Roger Rabbit switched from overhead perspective to side-scrolling perspective. It made the world feel big and somewhat realistic, like Grand Theft Auto today. As for the WWF games, I loved them and played the heck out of them. The grappling and move mechanics of the 1992-94 WWF Super NES games (Super WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, Raw) were essentially the same. I loved Royal Rumble the best because it finally introduced battle royal wrestling to a home console. I had been waiting a long time for that and even tried to imitate it for short periods of time in WWF WrestleMania Challenge for the NES. I'd set up tag team matches and would try to get the wrestlers on the outside of the ring into the action; of course, I was racing against the count-out clock. WWF Superstars for Game Boy was impressive because of the graphics, large sprites, and music. For a system as limited as the Game Boy, developer Rare (Acclaim was the publisher) did a fantastic job maximizing the hardware's capabilities. The only disappointing WWF game of those I listed above was Steel Cage Challenge. The rest were legitimately fun and well-made, in my opinion. I liked how the games incorporated each wrestler's theme song and special move. Thanks for the memories, Acclaim. Gone, but not forgotten.

With the help of Managers (Brian and Jonathan) at the Plainview store, along with Terry and his supervisor, Geraldine, at the Service Center an exchange was able to be worked out. I had gone to the store to finalize the exhange and arrange delivery, for the washer. While there, I saw and spoke with our usual salesperson, ALI. He always is very helpful and knowledgeable and takes his time with us (not rushing us through). We ended up not only finalizing the exchange of the washing machine but also decided to get a new dryer as well. Hopefully, I won't have to go to the laundromat anymore. Thanks again Ali, Brian, Jonathan, Terry and Geraldine for your time and patience in the overall process. This is why we have been going back to PC Richard for years.

The shaking was strong enough that my dryer which is stacked on top came off the hose and the washer shifted from its original position. This was definitely not what I expected from a brand new appliance and felt like it was going to explode as the shaking was aggressive. The delivery experience wasn't pleasant either. The two delivery guys asked me for an additional $130 to install the machine which felt wrong since they were separately asking me for it and it wasn't part of any official fee. It left a bad impression and made the whole process stressful. The reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of one is because of Ali the sales associate who helped me. He was professional, polite and genuinely kind throughout the entire purchase. He made the buying process smooth and answered all my questions. I highly recommend working with him if you need assistance at this location. Overall disappointed with the delivery and the washer performance but Ali deserves recognition for his excellent customer service.
