There comes a time in life, when we need to upgrade our smartphones to something new and exciting. For those of us who prefer Apple over Androids, life is sometimes easier. However, visiting your local cell phone store can either be a nightmare from hades or the best experience ever. For myself, it was the latter of the two. Megan, and the staff at this store were absolutely amazing. Megan, came out and asked how she could help me, and I explained that I wanted to upgrade to the new iPhone 15. She was able to pull up my old account information, and she even gave me the best unlimited plan that Verizon current has. Now I can visit neighboring Canada to visit family members and not worry about roaming charges. Likewise, I can now also send text messages to friends in Mexico City and Toronto without any fees. That being said, the staff at this store made my changeover absolutely effortless, transferred all of my data and contacts to the new phone in 20 minutes. The part I liked the best is how Megan, and the guy who set-up my new phone, took their time and explained to me all the ins and outs of my new plan. This was great customer service all the way. This is the worst location I've been to. I had a simple pickup order that I ordered on online on a Saturday. I go in on Monday and they had not grab it around. Then they informed me they don't even have anything. They say they are going to refund me. Say they are grabbing the receipt and it took 15 minutes! Waste of my time even coming. Customer service is absolutely horrendous here, and at every Verizon that I've been to within the last 3 years. Currently waiting in line with 5 other people, and I kid you not, every 3 minutes another employee goes to the back and does not come back. I simply came in for a printed receipt, I was given the wrong receipt and forced to wait in line again for the correct receipt. It's been 3 hours of my life that I'll never get back. This has to be the worst verizon store I've gone into. Please go somewhere else if possible. Customer service here is terrible, they all act like they hate their job and should be let go. Was not greeted when I walked in, wasn't told there was a check-in kiosk, sat in the seat and not one employee asked if I had been helped yet, techs walking around like sloths not speaking to each other or the other customers, had to repeat my issue multiple times as tech was not paying attention, sat in silence as tech did whatever to the phone, wasn't told my interaction was complete I had to ask the tech if it was done, wasn't told thanks for coming or anything, just got up and walked out the store.... Customer service at the store, online, and phone are MISLEADING AS HELL itself. Not a welcoming atmosphere at the store (dark as a night club, without the drinks, and good music). No water, snacks, or a simple greeting like at other service providers. Employees are lazy at best and infuriating at worst. If you do happen speak with the store manager (male, who has hazel eyes and a ponytail), may GOD HAVE MERCY on your Soul! He was mean and insensitive to my concerns as as a 1st time customer and I left that encounter discouraged and disappointed at the lack of professionalism that Store Managers are expected to show to the public. Customer service over the phone is a labyrinth of confusion as everyone I spoke to (11 people from 5 separate departments) seem to not know how to track an order let alone cancel an online order for at store pickup of 2 phones. My frustration is that the service I expected as a 1st time customer of this service was as unsatisfactory as a toddler who has to eat broccoli without the cheese. So TL;DR I just went through a LOT of drama with Verizon. It took over a week to resolve and although it didn't end like I wanted it to I can't help but to give props to Bianca. In my mind most customer service reps would have refused to help someone with the issues I was experiencing but not her. She was amazing and really went to bat for me including but not limited to making hours long phone calls to try and get my issue resolved. In the end I wound up getting a new phone and bought some accessories to go with it. The staff that helped me with that were all professional, knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with. After being on the phone with Verizon ALL DAY, I am forced to go to the store (because now both phones don't work) and I'm told there's 8 people ahead of you. Only 3 customers in the store. Customers seem to be a inconvenience to them. Every time I go in there, there's HOURS for waiting and always only one person helping a customer. Everyone else is the talking to each other. I've gone there three times for various reasons. One of the reasons was to switch providers to Verizon and they wanted me to call my current provider and tell them I'm switching and get a pin and then come back when I have everything ready. So I just went to the other Verizon store a little bit further from my house and they did everything for me and was very nice! I switched and didn't have to call, they called for me. I wanted to buy the Apple Watch Series 7 45mm and the iPad 12.9 inch and we went to the other Verizon store. Horrible customer service seems to be losing A LOT of money at this store... yikes. Today (09-22-22) I went in there to upgrade my (paid off) phone closer to close.. (35 minutes to be exact. I know.. I know) but figured since it was closer to my house I'd go there to save getting to the other one later. I walked in and was immediately greeted asking what I'd like to do TODAY. I said I was looking to upgrade to the iPhone 13 Pro Max since they had the green color that i currently have on the iPhone 11 Pro Max. She told me that I have to schedule an appointment for tomorrow as they have two guests in front of me. Mind you, the two guests in front of me was the same party and there's five sales associates just standing there. Every time I go there they can never help whether I'm there early in the morning, mid day, or toward the end of the night. Got taken off my plan at AT&T because I got into an argument with the contract holder, came to Verizon and was helped by a friendly guy; think his name is Jeremy. The guy tried to be time efficient because I mentioned I was going to work afterwards. The other employees were also very friendly and they all seemed to enjoy each other. My only issue is the tablet they work with had issues with finding my home address and their system kept declining my debit card and eventually we had to use a physical chip reader. Got the iPhone 12 and unlimited data now which is awesome and Jeremy instructed me on how to get money taken off my bill & mentioned how I can get free Hulu and other services. read more

I have done business with Verizon for years and have never been treated like I was taking time away from the representative's day. He had ZERO interest in my contract, was distracted the whole time I spoke with him and did not try to sell ANYTHING and that is exactly what he sold.....NOTHING. I don't know if he is burnt out or just a lousy salesperson but I can state with clarity that I will never visit that store again. Verizon needs associates that actually want to go to work and show up mentally for the customers who actually would like to conduct business. I was the only one in the store so not like they were stressed out. Told me I should just get it fixed by an Apple store. I said i had insurance and he said deductible would be $150. You WILL wait as others are taken ahead of you only to be told the wrong info. They would not take back my Note 7 even after several warning from safety commission. I have small children in house, but told to keep it until fireproof box comes in because they don't have fire proof storage... then told I would not get refund for 800$ phone until it is received and processed by Samsung! Oh Verizon on Ford Road, how I loathe thee.. let me count the ways. 1. The person mentioned in another review.. well - he really is a twat as noted by previously written review by fellow Yelper. Rude as balls to an old lady seeking help with discrepancies on her bill and apparently hired to stand around looking 'pretty'. 2. Inefficient as all get out. In my 45 minute wait time to simply return an item, let me lay out our observations. Remember, we had plenty of time to observe because we waited forty-five-long-ass - minutes for a r-e-t-u-r-n. 2a. Check in with your name via a tablet operated by an employee. To subsequently watch people that came in later, be helped before you. After inquiring to find out that the name never actually made it in the system. FU for wasting my time. 2b. Three employees pretty consistently effing about, walking around aimlessly, playing with the Beats by Dre pill jamming to music, while people keep lining up waiting to be helped. 2c. A poor woman needing to purchase an Otterbox experiencing a ridiculous wait herself to leave her hard-earned money at this place. 3. Customer service or lack thereof. First of all, the waits are ridiculous. How about having one person on register duty consistently? This way when people walk in for simple purchases, returns and exchanges they don't have to wait until annoying - teenager or confused - grampa is done debating between every single device in the store and needing their new plan explained 8 times. How about listening to your customers (especially when they are older and need help) instead of staring at your computer screen telling them a line of bull, when if you really cared you could check in to their matter and help them out? How about not standing around talking to your bud for 10 minutes when there is a lineup of people needing assistance? OH MY ...OH MY!!! I have made several telephone calls regarding the treatment we've received at this store. The girls on the telephone said that they would "write it down" but the only way I could get anyplace is by writing or calling some district person that they couldn't give me the name of! So I am depending on "YELP" to allow me to give an accurate description of the treatment we've been given at this Verizon store!! The customer service is horrible and they treat you like you are invisible. I bought an IPHONE 4 from the salesman named RYAN and he was horrible!!! When I asked him a couple of questions about "how to use" my new IPHONE4 that I"d just spend a couple of hundred dollars on...he told me "GO HOME AND PLAY WITH IT, I HAVE CUSTOMERS HERE TO WAIT ON"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH MY GOSH...can you even believe he said that to me??? Next, my daughter and I went in to ask a question about her leaving the country for awhile and what the best choices are for her. Well, somehow we ended up with "RYAN" again!!!!!!!!!!!!! We couldn't ask for someone else because they were all very "lazy" and not wanting to help us at all!!! He told us to come back some other time or ask another store because he was "busy". I cannot believe this person still is employed at this location or any location for that matter! Now, I have called twice about the treatment we've gotten from him and he still works there as do the several other people who don't seem to want to help anyone! You wait and wait and wait in the longest lines and they even forgot us one time after we'd waited about 45 minutes ....we finally asked because we saw several people who came in after us, get helped....The person who was working and talking to us at that moment told us we'd have to go to the back of the line because the glitch in the computer system didn't put us in there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We did it correctly and we just left....Now we must drive way out of town and out of our way to Westland,MI store where they've always been much more kind and nicer...but now not even sure if that store is still in business with this Newer Canton, MI store on Ford Road. I just must say that we've always enjoyed our Verizon service and the girls or guys on the phone have been kind but the people who work at this Ford Road in Canton, store and especially "Ryan"..they just really need to go and get a whole overhaul of employees. Jamal and Tony at this location are great! Set up my original account with Tony when I switched from Sprint ~4-5 years ago and it was seamless to port over five (5) lines and add another. Since then, Jamal has been able to resolve any issue I've had involving billing issues and items online chat had either messed up or not been able to do. I have learned my lesson that even though online chat with customer service seems convenient, it often ends up with me having to go into the store and resolve the issue with Jamal anyway, so I will just head there from now on. Nice that some businesses can still help customers face-to-face. Jamal is VERY accessible and responds to my calls and texts to efficiently help us with our phones and account. read more

Pleasantly surprised! My Mom and I walked into this store needing to swap out our cell phone for a model that better served our needs. After experiences with other cell phone dealers (including another Verizon store closer to our home), we expected to be met with rude employees that would ignore us, talk down to us, and waste our time by telling us we had to call some random person at a 800 number. Not the case here! Jamal and the other staff were attentive to our needs and handled the swap effortlessly. He personally handled the transfer of all of our information stored in our previous phone and handed us a phone that we could walk out the door and start using immediately. Went in just to fax identity papers to verizon. I had an awful experience in here due to poor service and ignorance of employees. One named Will wanted to argue with me about an order I had already placed. He kept telling me it was gone. That I now had to sign up for service with him. So I asked him "did you secretly scan my wallet and get my name and identity before I walked in?" He couldnt even answer. Idiot. I didnt know if the other guy standing next to him was Verizons mascot because he was so busy standing around texting on his phone and not helping the other waiting customers. An awful place to go. Don't even waste your time going in. Verizon cellular and more is literally a 2 min drive down the road and will take much better care of you. To the idiot that reported my review because of the race reference in my previous review and then blocked me, you are in no position to tell me what I can and can't say about race. Don't come here if you want to do anything other than purchase a new phone. The staff are not interested in helping customers unless they are buying something. I came in to the store per Asurion's request (insurance company) because my phone was having issues and they were so unhelpful. The person we dealt with "Glenita" or something like that was extremely rude and was uninterested in doing anything to help us. She continued to play on her personal cell phone while acting annoyed that she was the one who was chosen to try and help us. He was multi tasking and looking at Snapchat and checking ESPN. He took multi phone calls including one customer who he took private information about this customer then called his manager while using an iPad to sell me a new phone. The iPad then died because he clicked it too many times and it froze. He did not share this and I asked what the problem was and he responded aggressively and defensive. I was actually frightened and scared for my safety and information. I will be calling the manager. I suggest anger management for Jwain and new management for this store. We reluctantly went to the Verizon store on Ford road in Canton to port a phone number for my wife's new phone we recently purchased from Costco. I was fully expecting to be given the run around since we weren't there to purchase anything. Much to my pleasant surprise after waiting no more than a few minutes we were greeted by Jamal who went out of his way to assist us. We were able to get the phone number successfully ported in a matter of minutes thanks to Jamal who took care of everything for us. read more

Have not been in here in a while and you just have to walk in to remember why. I just wanted to pop in and buy a charger. I walk in and look too the racks with products hanging on them. Someone asked from across the store if they can help while they are helping someone else. I tell them I just need to grab a charger. They want my name. Give them my name and keep looking. Figure out the chargers are all behind the counter. So I wait and wait. They call a name and another woman complains because she had been skipped over and has been waiting 45 minutes. These people all have problems or are picking phones up. I just want to grab a charger. I waited a while longer and they didn't even call another name. I gave up, left and ordered one from Amazon. read more

This store has had many changes and improvements in the last year. Store has a ground up restoration. They have done an inside remodel and the staff is great. New management has really impacted the atmosphere in the store now. The sales associate wanted to make a sale off of me and told me that the trade in value of my phone will cover the cost of the camera mod I got on my phone. He excluded the information about the trade in covering the taxes first. I had to pay full price- $300- for something I was told would be free. We went to the Verizon Wireless store last night on 02/21/2013. As we pulled in the parking lot I said look at the security guard that they have. This guy was staring at me out the window. We went inside and signed in and were told that there was one person in front of us. We ended up having about a fifteen minute wait. While we were waiting this security guard continued to watch our every move and literally followed us throughout the store. It made me feel really uncomfortable and I will be going to another location after last night. read more

Horrible experience. We've been with Verizon for over 20 years. I went into this store (which we've visited before) to look at getting a new phone. We saw a "buy one get one" promotion. We did not need another line, which was the requirement for the B1G1 promotion, but were told if one of the lines changed phone numbers, that qualifies for a new line. So we changed one of our lines. We were not told this changed our plan and we lost 4 GB of data. While we were discussing what we wanted, the salesperson kept adding to our order then telling us everything was getting messed up because we were changing our minds. We were not changing our minds, we were asking questions to him or each other. I was given an iPad to sign for the credit charge and given an attitude when I said I couldn't read it and asked about it. I noticed we were over charged for a package of extras. He called for a manager and told the manager that we kept changing our minds and messed up the system. When I got the itemized bill via email, I noticed a variety of charges which were not explained including over $60 in sales tax. I was very disappointed in the service. I myself had never made contact with phone services. Other family members always handled it. Damien was so patient and helpful fixing our problems.
