This place is great. Luckily I haven't needed it often, but when I need help with my PC, I have not always had much luck. I have tried a few in the area and have always left wondering where I can go the next time I need help. For the most part they seem to employ what I call gen-Z gamers, and that does not give me much confidence when I walk in. I stopped in to get my computer reset. Had previously been to Best Buy and they were not able to fix it. Within 10 minutes of walking into Computer Ali at 4395 Jackson Rd. my computer had been totally reset. I was given some information on what it happened to it. Now it works perfectly. There was no hassle or waiting. There was no pressure to buy anything, etc.. I would highly recommend Computer Alley. These folks are great. The fan on my LT started making nasty noises. They diagnosed it with in a day ordered the part, told me it wasn't fatal and returned my computer, so I could use it till the part arrived. Computer Alley to the rescue. I bought a new machine online recently, and then I managed to break it within 90 seconds of taking it out of the box. So I called these guys. They did excellent work, fixing the problem which I had caused, and also a couple other issues with the machine. They were also helpful over the phone when I was confused about some aspects of the new system that I was not familiar with. Next time I want a new box, I will have them put it together for me in the first place, rather than finding someplace online. read more

The crew at Computer Alley have helped me solve several problems and answered many questions. I tend to purchase from local vendors as much as possible especially the ones with technical support. I had my main computer just stop when I did a running reboot just as I was preparing some critical data for clients. Tony dropped everything when I arrived with my computer. He pulled the hard drive and verified that it was ok within less than 1/2 hour. They then took 24 hours to test the memory etc. and determined that there must have been a bad connection to a memory module since they reassembled everything and it worked fine. That said, the computer is about 10 year old so I was interested in replacing it. They quoted me a competitive price on a new machine, which I purchased a few weeks later. I am extremely happy with this new machine and would highly recommend them as a source. read more

This is the first time I have ever posted a review. A few weeks ago my laptop was hacked, mostly because of my own unfamiliarity of this type of action. I called Apple and that was an even more frustrating experience along with delays to schedule a "genius bar"appointment. I had driven by Computer Alley several times on Jackson Rd and saw the "authorized Apple repair"sign and thought I'd give then a try. It was the very best experience I have ever had with a computer issue, let alone a hack. Allan the owner of the repair business was absolutely terrific. He worked through the weekend to get my laptop back to where it had been before the hack. He even allowed me to join him on Sunday( a day the business was closed) so my laptop would be ready for use on Monday. His expertise was obvious during my time with him on Sunday. But even more impressive was his patience and instruction to make sure I understood not to let what happened to me happen again. Allan and Computer Alley is now my go to place if I run into any Apple repair issue again. read more

Absolutely Wonderful!!! I called before coming and since they were not too busy they were able to do the work while I waited. The customer service rep was very helpful in answering my questions and even solved a problem with my internet speed. What a guy :-) My upgraded ram works fantastic and I was even able to up grade my ethernet connection with a device they had in the store... saved me a big headache. I was in the market for a new computer and went back to Computer Alley. Not only did I save money over anything I could find online but it was a one stop and home with the computer, no shipping issues and a lot of good information. They answered all of my questions and based on past experience service their machines fairly. Had an issue with my last computer hard drive and they replaced it since it was only six months old. I've had many machines serviced here over the last few years, and also at their State St. location when it was still open. They've always been able to address and remedy any issues I was having with my PCs, and most of the time the service has been outstanding. I always try to deal with Nick whenever possible, as he always recognizes me and is extremely kind and helpful. However, my last phone call and subsequent visit left a VERY bad taste in my mouth and wasn't even close to the level of service I'm used to from Computer Alley, hence the three stars. I had a piece break on my laptop yesterday, and called Computer Alley to describe the issue and see what my options were. I spoke to Tony, who seemed very cold and disinterested in what I had to say. He began spouting off exorbitant numbers on what it would cost to fix the piece, and would constantly interrupt me when I would try to explain further. Mind you, I DO have technical experience with computers, and have taken apart and modified/repaired many machines and gaming systems. It seemed like he thought that I was incompetent because I was a woman, and thought that I'd be okay with paying upwards of $300 and being without my laptop for two weeks to repair a small part. Fast forward to today, when I decided to stop by the store to see if I could perhaps deal with someone else. Tony was at the front desk, and I again explained the situation and showed him the piece I was talking about. He (again) constantly interrupted me, cut me off, and started quoting outlandish prices for something that actually turned out to be a simple fix. I explained that I had tried to disassemble the machine myself the previous night, but that I didn't have a screwdriver to remove two of the screws on one of the bottom panels. He responded by saying "We can remove the screws for $82.50. You have to pay for labor." I was a bit incredulous and clarified that he was actually going to charge me $82.50 to remove two screws (a ten second job, tops) and he said "Yep. That or you can take a screwdriver and do it yourself." I agreed, and he said "Is that a yes then? You want to do it yourself?" I said that I would, and that's exactly what I did. Thankfully, Nick walked out from the back right at that moment and talked to me about what to expect when I disassembled my machine, and told me to call the store and ask for him if I needed additional help. Oh, and he removed another screw free of charge. Quite honestly, I'd never go to this place again if it weren't for Nick and his friendly service. I did end up fixing the part myself, and it was far simpler than I had anticipated. Good thing I didn't shell out the $300 Tony quoted me, I suppose. read more

I am writing this to express my great pleasure of doing business with Computer Alley. I called and spoke to Tony and asked him if he had a few minutes to answer a couple questions for me. Tony was very professional and had the experience to not only answer my questions, but to give me several options on how to take care of my concern with my wired/wireless system.
