On Sunday Feb. 8th, 2025 I ordered a 2TB Crucial External SSD for a total of $116.59 with a promise delivery date of the next day Sunday February. 9th, 2025 Sunday came and went no order. I contacted them on the 10th to find out what happened to my order and as always they cut and paste from a script, telling oh how important they know my order is and that they understand my frustrations as they are Best Buy customers too. Bull Shit! As I told the agent that since they did not deliver the SSD on the day it was supposed to be delivered. I wanted to cancel the order and be provided a refund. The same bull shit from the agent let me look into it see what I can do. After all that time they continue to come back and say oh we have good news your order is packaged and waiting for carrier to pick up. Nothing pisses me off more than someone not paying attention nor caring enough to see that I have already told them I don't want the product now because they failed to deliver the item. (this was a birthday gift) The same stupid excuse we cannot cancel the order because its list as being shipped, but yet they never ship the item, Monday came and went, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and it still has not left the store. But Best Buy thinks it can hold onto the order NOT ship it and not cancel the order. Federal and State laws require an online and retail store to provide the customer the option of Cancellation and refund of the order if they cannot meet the deadline, this does not mean that Best Buy can continue to move back the deadline as they please they missed the promise delivery date and refuse to cancel the order. I am on here to warn people of Best Buy's unethical practices and if you can avoid shopping there I highly recommend you go else where for you electronics. I have been a Best Buy customer for over 20 years and this is hoe they treat their loyal customers. So, I was forced to file charge back through my bank. Let me preface this review by saying that I gave this establishment a 1 only because I can't…read morefigure out how to not even give a . I will also state that I know this is a first world problem and that it has to do with my drone (which at the end of the day is a toy). In early August 2025 my drone had a crash. There were some repairs that were going to need to be done and right before I shipped my drone to Florida for a repair I came across MXT in Westland. Very excited that I wouldn't have to send it out of state, I dropped the drone off. I paid initially for an assessment and was assured this fix would be no big deal and they should only need it for at max two weeks. I of course was very relieved thinking I'd have plenty of time this fall to fly it. Let me just say, I just received it through the mail yesterday, more than two months after I initially dropped it off. Two weeks and two months are two totally different amounts of time. If I would have been told two months from the start it would have been a totally different story. I was patient for the first couple weeks and gave the benefit of the doubt in every excuse/reason before I started inquiring for the status after not hearing anything. Once I started making contact to try and get updates, I was told they had just received the new shell and that they had been sent the wrong one. I was given excuse after excuse and reason after reason why it hadn't been completed yet. After being assured it was complete and being packaged for sending out, it was then that they realized a landing gear was partially broke. I was called and asked if I wanted that to be fixed. I reiterated at this point that I want the drone repaired and as close to brand new as they could get it. I was assured that wouldn't be a problem and should just be a couple extra days. Couple days go by and no word. I call and find out the guy who fixes the drones was gone out of town and when he gets back he will be fixing it. Another week or so goes by and supposedly that had been fixed now and the only issue was when it was getting packed up for shipping (mind you I never even gave them my address because I was going to be picking it up) they found another cracked area at the base of one of the arms. Again I was asked if I wanted that fixed or just leave it to which of course I reiterated again I want everything fixed. They were going to do that and then it would be sent. I proceeded to contact this business probably 8-10 more times with verbal phone contact to have been told it was shipped and I would be receiving the tracking info. Only problem, I never gave them my address like I said because I was going to be picking it up. Oddly enough if you can believe this, one of the times I called to ask again for the tracking info I was told it got returned because of insufficient address details. You think? That's because they didn't have a clue what my address was because they had never asked me for it. I think after as many attempts as I had made (after not having my drone for two months) to find out what was going on with my drone, the owner finally shipped it USPS and sent me a tracking receipt. Of course I was excited by this point knowing that I had been told that everything had been repaired and was as close to brand new as they could make it. I received the drone and opened it up to basically find that 1.) the landing gear never got replaced and 2.) the cracked piece by the arm that had been discovered and was going to be fixed never got fixed. I attempted to call MXT and to as kindly as I could figure out what was going on in the midst of my major disappointment. The fact that it never got fixed wasn't the owners fault, he "thought" the work got done. I let him know that wasn't acceptable and he continued to push the blame on "the drone repair guy." If you own a business and you are the one who accepts an item for repair and you have your business' name on it, you better hold your people that you farm these jobs out to accountable and should inspect every job to ensure it's completion and operation before it goes back to the owner. I'm no fool and wasn't born yesterday. I know the reason why they wanted to ship it to me was so I wasn't standing in their "store" when I discovered that after more than two months the drone was not repaired. If I would have driven down to Westland to pick this up to then figure out that I was being lied to all along the way, I would have been even more disappointed, so thank you for sparing me that experience. I probably should have trusted my gut from the moment I pulled into the parking lot of this establishment. I should have never let this go on for more than two months only two still now be left with a drone that isn't repaired. No one enjoys being dragged through the mud or put through the wringer. I didn't need to be lied to and didn't need this level of dishonesty and then to have been hung up on twice when I called to voice my frustratio

Their results are excellent and the price is perfect, because their approach is efficient, and intelligent, and prudent, and because their expertise and experience is deep. Recently they again excelled. They solved several similar but not identical operating-system problems in a pair of wonderful older Asus Windows 10 laptops: the fraternal twins Asus1 and Asus2. They were bought a month apart and are nominally the same exact model--but actually are not. Comparing the slight differences in the responses of the 'twins' helped Luke to analyze and diagnose. This sort of thing is why they're the best. Plus Mateen and Luke and anyone who has worked there are nice people.

Next time I need a repair, I'll have to try somewhere else because this place is CRAZY expensive. I paid $150 just for them to figure out what the solution was. That fee is not applied to what you pay for the actual repair should you decide to have them fix it like it would at a car repair place; it's just $150 to have them tell you what's wrong. They then quoted me $250 to reinstall windows and fix a broken hinge. I was iffy but said yes partially due to the sunken cost of the diagnosis and mostly because they promised me they would be able to upgrade my laptop to Windows 11, which the laptop had been telling me was not possible. So this seemed somewhat worth it to me to have them do. I went to pick up the fixed laptop, and immediately noticed that they had to drill totally new screw holes into it to install the new hinge. It looks pretty bad, but I'm really not picky about aesthetics so I let it go. But then they started it up to show me it was working, and I cannot even explain how INCREDIBLY slow it was as they tried to use it. Like, Windows 98 was faster than this thing was running, and I had previously never had any speed issues with it. I said something along the lines of how disappointed I was that I had now spent $400 and honestly couldn't even realistically use the laptop anymore. They offered to just install Windows 10 again instead, but like I said, the main reason I decided to pay all that money was because they assured me they could upgrade it to Windows 11. So they ended up refunding me for the repairs (I'm still out the diagnosis fee) and wiped the laptop and gave it back to me. After going home and doing some research on my own, I was able to reinstall Windows 10 on my own in about a half hour for $10. I cannot believe they were going to charge me almost $200 to do that!!! My laptop is now working exactly as it did before, and I learned my lesson.

Then, while gaming, my game crashed and the computer stopped responding, prompting me to force shutdown the computer. Post crash, the game was underperforming. I tried everything software-related, from verifying the integrity of the game files to clean reinstalling Windows (three separate times, mind you), but to no avail. At this point,  I'm thinking it must be hardware related, hence why I took it to the repair shop. I explained my situation to the repair shop and they took it from there. After some time, they contacted me saying that the both the graphics card and SSD (due to being at "65% health") are responsible for the horrendous performance. I went ahead and replaced said components, only to be greeted with the same horrible performance post-crash. So, I called the repair shop and they responded by saying I only "partially followed" their advice as they recommended I get a RTX 5070 instead of the RX 9070 I originally had; their argument was that the RTX 5070 is the superior card of the two and didn't have as many driver issues as AMD cards. According to them, had I gotten an RTX 5070, the PC would have been running perfectly fine like its former self. But that didn't make any sense as the PC was running fine with an RX 9070 before the crash. When I brought this point up, they started talking about how there could be problems with PCIE bifurcation, something that didn't make sense at all in explaining my horrible performance.  I decided to take it to another repair shop. The repair guy over there suspected it was the motherboard. I replaced the motherboard and lo and behold, the PC was running perfectly fine, WITH the RX 9070 card that Quick Teks claimed should have been switched out for an RTX 5070 due to "PCIE bifurcation issues." I later called Quick Teks about this and they were still adamant about the situation, stating that they had mentioned PCIE bifurcation being a potential problem in their diagnosis (which isn't true as they mentioned the PCIE issues AFTER I replaced the parts and called them about the PC still having horrible performance; never was it mentioned in their diagnosis). To top it all off, Quick Teks abruptly hung up on me and sent me a text saying, "Thank you for your business. But i'm well aware of what was wrong, and what was stated previously." Absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable service.

My initial contact was via email (on a weekend no less), which was promptly responded to - seems like a fundamental of good business, but something I often find lacking. I value excellent communication as important as the service, and I received exceptional communication. There is no charge for travel, and David came to my house (on time, mind you) and quickly determined the problem. I don't know zip about cpu's, but he showed me in a way I easily understood, explained how/why the situation can happen & outlined every option - from replacing parts which he priced on the spot, to getting a new cpu, which I opted for. Two days later, he returned (again, on time & again, exceptionally communicated) and transferred the data from my old HD to the new one. He helped me select the best option for security, was SO helpful in making sure I didn't forget anything - setting up my peripherals, making sure all my software was working, emails working, found/installed a driver I needed for an older printer, etc. I run a small business off this computer, and had initially been panic-stricken when my old cpu went down. When David left, there was not one stone left unturned - and left to my own devices, I wouldn't have even THOUGHT of so many details he knew to think of. THIS is what defines "Customer Service." He was quite pleasant, very professional, knew precisely what he was doing, and leaves me feeling SO RELIEVED that I now have access to someone I can count on and that I trust. I put him in the "inexpensive" range because frankly, I think he should charge more than he does. If ever he retires, he could teach classes on "How to Succeed At Customer Service."

He removed it and installed a CD & DVD writer in it's place; total upgrade! He also found out that I had too little memory. He doubled my memory as well. I got a full diagnostic check, full system clean up, full anti-virus, malware and spyware protection, a new DVD & CD burner and double the amount of memory; all for $80. I was floored! When I got my laptop back, Dave had made a folder on my desktop with videos explaining exactly what he did and how often I need to run the new anti-virus and spyware protection. I'm not a techy person, so I greatly appreciated the extra information. I am very pleased with the service and have already recommended him to other friends and family members. You'll never get this level of service anywhere else. If you need help, please go there. You won't be disappointed.
