UPDATE: This is an updated review because the district manager reached out and asked us what went wrong and tried resolving the issue. Therefore I will add 3 stars only because he reached out. This place is shit. Plain and in general. They poorly train their employees and the employees know less about the phones and other devices than I do. They also will tell you whatever they think sounds best to rip you off and you can tell the company is horrible because of their high turn rate. Chamber of Commerce or Verizon should shut this store down. Manager, Darrell (refused to provide his last name) was arrogant and elusive in answering straightforward questions. I ask a logical and straightforward question; "What is the difference in monthly fee for what you are asking me to sign versus what I was paying in the past?" Darrell quickly became belligerent, asking in a loud voice; "Are you trying to back out on the deal?" There was no clear explanation of the charges or of the proposed changes to my current service. All I wanted to do was upgrade to a newer version phone, no change in monthly service was requested. I stated I would discuss their proposed charges with my daughter, under whom the account is registered, and return later. Manager Darrell told me to get out of his store and not come back. I am a well polished business professional that deals with extensive technology daily. I was dressed in a dress shirt, dress pants and a navy blue sport coat when visiting this store. Clearly, Manager Darrell had something to hide as he was unwilling to explain the charges. Clearly, this store is a negative reflection on Verizon and a negative reflection on the Camarillo Chamber of Commerce. Enter here at your great peril. read more

This is not about this store, just Verizon in general. Beware of your phone trade-ins should you disconnect your line and be getting a trade-in value monthly for an older phone. I disconnected my line, removed my current device, and had a balance left on my trade-in value from my old phone. Well I had to call in and argue with the trade-in dept about getting some of that credited to my account. They would not give me the full balance left even though they had already valued my phone. This is real easy to forget. Then they tried to tell me "well your phone is only worth X right now". That's not the case, the case is they valued it at X and then it was done. Now that I'm trying to get what's left because I disconnected the line, they didn't want to give me what was left in full, so they get the phone and your $$$. No wonder they make so much money! If you can get a lump sum for your trade, do it! Don't do the 24 month credits. It's too easy to forget about it should you disconnect your line. If you forget about the credit, they will sweep it under the rug and keep your money while you get another phone, and not even mention it. You'll have to fight for it. And when you do fight, they'll undercut it. I can't believe this happens! Verizon is supposed to be king of the hill, hmm. Don't let them keep your money, but you need to fight for it! read more

The only reason we came to this store is because the Verizon by the outlets is always packed. But after today, that will be the only store we will visit. The girl helping us here today, Daisy, treated us really disrespectfully. She snapped at us as we suggested she check something about our account using the main contact number. Her overall attitude was impatient towards us and her coworkers. Very unpleasant experience. The store smelled like a restroom as well. I ordered an upgrade through the verizon website and it was confirmed, paid for, and scheduled for pick up the next day. When I didn't hear from the store regarding a time I called to check on the status. I was told the phone (that was confirmed and paid for) was activated under another account and to just "call customer service and cancel your order. You can come into the store and we will do your upgrade here". I had never heard of this happening before and was unclear if this practice was acceptable or not. After speaking with other verizon-affiliated stores, it is not. Apparently this particular store has an order at your own risk policy. Not to mention, "just call customer service" took 2 hours of my time and I am unable to upgrade for at least 24hrs. Unbelievably bad experience. read more

It's probably one of the most frustrating things in the entire world to be without your phone so when I came in 15 minutes before closing time I was in a state of borderline desperation. thank God for Josh put everything at ease. worked with us as long as it took even after he was closed to make sure we were taken care of and I no longer had to deal with the stress of not having a phone not only that but he put us into a really good deal and my wife and I both were able to get new phones thanks again Josh for everything you do and for doing it so well read more

This was a perfect paradigm of how excellent customer service should be handled. We were trying to purchase a prepaid sim card for an international phone. Josh, the service rep, went to all lengths possible to ensure our phone was compatible with their network, activate the phone, and resolve all the initial connection issues regarding the change of service. He very easily could have told us there was nothing he could do or convince us to buy a prepaid phone, but he resolved our issue in a prompt and professional manner. He even multi tasked helping other customers while on hold with corporate trying to resolve our issue. I currently have AT&T but will plan to switch to Verizon after the expiration of my current year contract. In an ideal world, all phone stores would be like this one, having customer service reps like Josh. read more

My screen went black on my iPhone. Spent a LOT of time online with Verizon trying to access authentication code to proceed to activate new phone. Long story short went to this store the next day. These people lie! I went in to have a replacement phone activated. That was taken care of to my satisfaction. But, then the guy told me I had devices on my account that were eligible for upgrade. When I said I wasn't interested in upgrading, but wanted to know if I was paying a monthly charge for the devices, another guy came up behind the one who was checking for me and both of them said that I wasn't paying to have those devices on my account. When I went home and checked online, I found that I had been paying $10 per device per month and they could have taken care of that. Also, I have been paying for way more data than I have needed, but they told me it was the right plan for me! Bottom line... don't go here. Worst customer service, they come out with they own numbers. This is not a corporate Verizon store is just a little shop like the ones at the mall or Costco.. They work by commission. I do not recommend this Verizon store. You'll be going back more than 3 times to solve issues about a plan or phone. Wait time more than 30 minutes. Manager hides in the back. These people are the very best. They go out of their way to do everything they can to help you. I went in with a corrupted phone that I needed transferred to a new phone. PK and Daisy went way above and beyond normal expectations to help me, and I left with all my info transferred to my new phone. They very easily could have just told me that they couldn't salvage all my data, but they kept at it. WHAT A NIGHTMARE! THIS IS NOT A VERIZON STORE! Kyle the Manager has a bad attitude, is arrogant and unprofessional. If ever there were an employee that needed to be trained in customer service 101... Don't be mislead by the signage this store has a barely noticeable sign that says authorized retailer under the Verizon sign. They only sell Verizon phones so you think you are in a Verizon store. Don't be fooled by the masquerade. I nearly switched carriers because of the way I was treated by Kyle who claims to be the manager. When I went to the real Verizon store to try to back out the contract (only 5 days had elapsed), I found the employees were helpful and horrified at how I was treated at PCS Express. The Verizon employees wanted to help back out the transaction and could have backed it out had I made the transaction at a Verizon store. My choice was to either go back to the store where I felt disrespected or eat the fees for a new two year contract. Had this transaction happened at the real Verizon store I could have returned the product to any of the stores and had the 14 day No Worry Guarantee that Verizon touts. PCS Express provides terrible service and is not held accountable by Verizon(Yet). They don't adhere to Verizon policies. Manager Kyle refused to turn off the new line added just four days earlier. Verizon has a 14 day worry free guarantee. Kyle refused to give me a district manager or supervisor contact information stating that he was the highest person in the organization. When I looked at my phone and dialed Verizon Service *611 He jousted saying "Who are you going to call?", Smirking he said, "Oh do you have the district managers number in your phone?" I said," I'm pretty resourceful" and left. I managed to work with Verizon Customer service on the money side of things but it was big hassle and I had to go back to PCS Express hell and demand that they discontinue the line. AVOID THIS STORE AT ALL COSTS! The real Verizon store is in the town center mall between Target and Lure Restaurant. There you will find friendly faces willing to help you. But who wants to argue with an idiot. She then charged me $20 to activate an old phone when I could have just called Verizon and had that done free. I was looking for a more powerful phone and a new service provider. I spoke to some friends and they said Verizon was my best bet. I was looking for a Verizon retailer close to my to my home and I came across this store on my search. I walked into this Verizon store and was greeted by a very friendly merchant named Richard. I briefly explained to Richard what my needs were and he made a couple of suggestions and I went with the LG G7 thin Q. I came into the store with a certain brand in mind and Richard explained the differences to me and said I'd be much better off with the LG. My 86 year old dad walked into this 'Verizon" store to see about getting his bill lowered (he's losing his house, etc.). They ended up selling him a plan that included a "free" tablet (which included all the fees plus data, plus, plus, plus). His bill went from $76 to $176!!! We have been trying to undue this for weeks with no luck and no help from the store. Beware, especially the elderly as they will take advantage of them. p.s. they are an independent store, not directly affiliated with Verizon and they use that as a reason they can't help you! read more

No I don't want to wait an hour to get a simple question answered. This is everytime I have gone there. They obviously need more staff.

While the Sales Rep was friendly when I arrived in desperation because my iphone 6s would not turn on the day I was to leave on a 17 day trip. The Sales Rep examined it and said my phone was dead and could not be repaired. He suggested I buy a new phone, which I agreed. He told me to return in 2 hours so that he could do some programing, which I did. When I returned he told me that he was giving me a Hot Spot because the new iphone 12 did not have a Personal Hot Spot as did my 6s. I thanked him and left in a rush. During my trip I made one attempt to read the instructions, but the schedule, the too small print (for my old eyes), and in traveling mode I put to Orbic Speed back in the bag. When I returned home 17 days later, a friend showed me that the iphone 12 pro does have a Personal Hot Spot, so the Orbic Speed was unnecessary, plus I received a Verizon bill of $ 34/mo for the Hot spot usage. When I attempted to return it, he said that I had to have returned it within 14 days. And he was surprise when I mention that the 12 pro did have a Personal Hot Spot. He obviously did not know his product, and told me something I did not need. read more

Came into this Verizon store for a new phone and only a new phone. They began trying to sell me a tablet and a wireless router as a special deal and I declined. They continued to tell me how much better of a deal I was getting, how it wouldn't cost me any extra, and it would actually save money because they were trying to promote a deal. I asked specific questions like "will this charge me extra" and they said no. They also informed me the tablet would come with hundreds of FREE movies. However none of this was the case. First of all no, none of the movies were free. And second of all when after they assured me that these devices would not cost me any extra on my bill what really happened was they attached phone numbers to them and began charging data. I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience. I feel like an idiot for believing these people and upset that they flat out lied to me just to sell me more products. DO not go to this Verizon, they are only interested in trying to sell you unnecessary products for their own sales and will do anything (even lie!) to get you to buy them. read more

I went in to this verizon location to get information on a broken phone. The employee helping me looked into my account information and told me that the phone was not covered under warranty. They then proceeded to try and sell me on a new plan and a new phone. I left without buying anything and called customer service myself to find out that the phone was under warranty and the person helping me was lying/mistaken trying to sell me a phone, or an upgraded plan. I went back today to ask about the person helping me being mistaken or lying and the employee (new person) was rather unfriendly, and they explained that this location is a RETAILER ONLY not a corporate branch of verizon. The people at this location are the most annoying sales people, because they are not up front about being only a retail location. They are not trying to help anyone here with anything besides spending money. That message was clear to me when I went in today and was rudely told to go to the corporate location in camarillo. I will never ever be back to this retailer. Even if I was going to buy a new phone or upgrade my plan. I would not give a penny of my money to the people at this location.
