The employees at this store seriously need training on how to treat customers. There's a complete lack of respect or empathy the moment you walk through the door. This particular store is actually a standalone next to Starbucks and I've been here about 5 times I'm not sure why I never reviewed it. My review is on behalf of a very dear friend who just had a devastating house fire and is now living out of a hotel. I wish giving zero stars was an option. I am so incredibly disgusted by their experience. #verizon you should be ashamed of yourself and the employees at the Niagara Falls Blvd store in Buffalo NY should be required to take a human decency training or better yet be fired. When someone comes to you with a devastating story they just experienced commission and upselling should be the last thing on your mind. Below is the recap of their horrible experience... I went to the #Verizon store on Niagra Falls Blvd in Buffalo to request a home service internet box so that I could have private/reliable internet. I explained that my house was in a fire and I lived in a hotel. They advised me that the device I requested wouldn't work in a hotel and upsold me on a jetpack. They didn't tell me that once I opened the device, I would be charged a re-stocking fee if I returned it. Whereas the device I specifically asked for does not carry a restocking fee. So, if I took the device I had asked for and it didn't work I could have brought it back hassle-free. Instead, I go back to the hotel with the jetpack open it up and start charging it per the instructions of the store. I explain to my brother what happened and he immediately is questioning how that makes any sense and calls Verizon and they advise him the home internet device should work in a hotel unlike what they told me in the store. So, he orders the home device and I go to the same store to pick it up and explain that they informed me incorrectly and attempted to return the jetpack. They then tell me about the re-stocking fee which I called BS on b/c I specifically asked for another device and was sold one I didn't need b/c I was in a vulnerable situation. They told me there was nothing they could do and again advised that they didn't think the home internet would work at a hotel and told me to go back with both devices and test it out and then come back and return the one I didn't need. So, I go to the hotel and my brother sets up the new device and what do you know - it works. I go BACK to Verizon for the 3rd time and tried to return the device and they refused to drop the restocking fee or refund me for the one month of service and refunded me $36.99 out of a $116.98 bill. Obviously extremely upset I questioned why they wouldn't return the full refund when I specifically asked for another device and was sold one I didn't need and they told me to call customer service and get a credit on my bill. read more

Interesting to see how few and far between these reviews are. First time for me writing and I was anticipating a more robust audience. In any case, my experience with this Verizon store at 1703 Niagara Falls Blvd was quite positive because of a young man named Mitch. I give him FIVE STARS. A few weeks ago, I had been trying to solve various exasperating issues with Verizon's online "customer service" but was unable to do so. The reps were poorly trained, actually reading from a manual as they were trying to connect my new Fios account with my new mobile phone account. And then I saw that my bill was double what the original online rep had quoted me. When I tried to get that resolved over the phone, verbal interaction/communication was impossible!! So, a few weeks ago, I went to the 1703 store where Mitch took care of all issues. He was respectful, friendly, and extremely capable. Can't say enough about my positive experience with him. Unfortunately, the billing adjustments were not available to me when I went to the website to view my bill just a couple of days ago. It appears that Verizon has significant lag time updating accounts. So, I went back to 1703 and dealt with the store manager named Mason who, through his OWN access, was able to show me that the billing errors had in fact been corrected. Very grateful for Mason. And I give him FIVE STARS as well. Overall, I give the store four stars because of a very negative encounter with a rep prior to talking to Mason. She was belligerent, condescending, and dismissive of my concerns. She must have repeated five times that she could NOT assist me because I did not open the accounts at the store itself. "You will have to deal with it online." When I said to her that, as a customer, there was no distinction between Verizon online service and a local store. She actually said "We are not the same company." That's when I realized her full intent was to get me out of the store as fast as possible. And that's when i asked for the manager and met Mason. Again, he was poised, knowledgeable and professional. Verizon has a lot of work to do as far as training its workforce. Their TV commercials are funny and engaging. What an awful experience I had at this store just yesterday. The gentleman (I am being extremely kind by calling him that, as there are other words that would fit him much better) was extremely rude and condescending to me for no reason whatsoever. Due to the fact that this store is a retailer and not an authorized dealer, I drove out there, to take care of my bill as I had been having issues paying by use of the app, and by phone. This "gentleman" was behind the desk on his tablet, and looked up at me as if I was being an inconvenience to him. I told him I would like to pay my bill. It was clear to me that he didn't want to be bothered. "He said why don't you pay it via the app or by phone?" I explained that I was having issues with the app as well as my phone. He finally showed me the machine and told me I could use this to pay, which I did. I was also having an issues getting my phone to work, but since he did not want to help, I waited 10 minutes for another employee to help me. Given the fact that I pay Verizon a lot of money, and I don't deserve to be treated like this, I am going to switch to another carrier. read more

Our preferred Verizon store. It is not a preferred retailer but a store from Verizon itself. Makes a difference I think. We have been there every now and then over the last years and so far our experiences there have been from okay to very good. Our last visit was the latter. My 4 year old iPhone 6 had battery problems for a while. The representative explained to me the different options: replacing the battery but was not sure if that was worth it. The 6 might not be supported anymore next year. It will still work, but the operating system might not be up-gradable anymore. The other option was an upgrade to a new phone. Where I was afraid he was going to push me into an iPhone 11 or 12 (with a huge price tag), he said the new SE was a perfect choice for me. That saved me almost $800! He helped me with moving all my apps and info to my new phone. I was impressed by the support. Our representative was very friendly and as I said, very helpful. Big providers hardly get good ratings. Verizon is like the other companies like T-Mobile and Spectrum. You hardly ever see a positive review. Well, here it is. Verizon does a good job. read more

I consistently get amazing service here. The most recent time, Andrew was incredibly patient with my technologically challenged mother. He tried really hard to answer her questions in a way she could understand and stayed a few minutes after closing to finish up what he was doing for her and answered my questions about my current plan too while helping her. In the age where you can go through airport security without a wallet using photo ID, you need a physical ID at this Verizon store as a proof of identity. This place is a straight up mad house. Always busy. It's super high tech now so all the employees walk around with tablets assisting customers. There are plenty of people working so although the crowd may seem intimidating, you might as well risk it because you won't find yourself waiting more than 10 minutes or so. I find that the accessories here are much more expensive than other stores such as Best Buy and Target so I wouldn't recommend purchasing those items here. (Cases, USB cords, etc) Just a pointer, try not to come in complaining and whining. The workers here are only human and it's not THEIR fault that your calls continuously drop or your screen keeps freezing. They are there to help and complaining is just going to make the process that much longer! read more

Worst customer service ever. Went with elderly mom to get new phone and they wanted her to set up phone on her own at home with a set of instructions they gave her. We tried to set up but couldn't get service. The employee switched this and turned on that.. ok all set. We left and tried to make a call and phone stated call failed. Tried to call someone else and stated call failed again. After 5 trips to the store someone pushed the correct button . They make customers feel like complete idiots because they don't know every function of their phone. read more

I don't usually make reviews but felt this was necessary! Honestly had some of the best customer service here in a very long time. Dawn went out of her way to make sure my order was correct and completed before I left. I ordered online to pick up in store and some kind of error occurred so when I went to pick it up, it wasn't ready and had a hold on it. She stayed almost an hour after the store closed calling around and made sure my order was perfect. She helped me again the following day when I brought in my trade in devices. She's helpful, kind and is exceptional at her job!! If you need to visit a Verizon store, make it this one and ask for her!! read more

I stopped in with my mom today to replace a cracked iPhone 6. We hadn't fully had a plan yet but we're helped relatively quickly and decided to upgrade to the new iPhone 7. Once we paid, the original employee who was helping us out switched out with the guy who you check in with at the door. No big deal, but the original guy then was helping another customer. It sort of seemed like once he was finished earning his commission from our sale, he was ready to move on. I was waiting for the iCloud to restore to my new phone, which took awhile. We waited and waited and waited and the second guy decided to restart the backup and switched out with another employee. It rubbed me the wrong way that we were getting passed along. I feel as though we wouldn't have needed anyone to stand beside us the entire time, but the constant switching out brought more attention to the matter. I have been in this location plenty of other times and have had positive experiences, so I'm hoping this was just a fluke. read more

I went there last night to get a new phone since I was able to upgrade. The girl was very pushy and rude and trying to make me go for phones that didn't have any features I liked or needed for my job, plus she told me I was wrong with the specs on the phones. (Which I wasn't and she actually started arguing with me!!!!!) I had enough and I told my husband that I would like to leave and go over to the Verizon at the Boulevard Mall. I had much better service at the mall and the guy who took care of us was super awesome. :) My advice is stay away from that store on NF Blvd and head over to the store at the mall. read more

SCAM ARTISTS for employees. Avoid the arrogant crooks that act like they are doing you a favor at this store at all costs- they are the absolute worst - if you must use verizon, go to another location, this is the one next to starbucks on the corner of NFB and North Bailey I went here to start a new plan with Verizon- the guy that helped me seemed super helpful and knowledgeable- when paying- just before signing my contract, he stuck something else in the bag along with my phone, when I asked him what it was he said it was a HUM and its Verizon's way of offsetting not having a hotspot on your phone- why would an Iphone XS not have a hotspot? At any rate that is all he said about it- also told me I could view my receipt online-- well I couldn't because he set it up with a dummy # even though I ported my # immediately. I had a few business trips planned and hadn't looked at the bag or the device for 3 weeks- then I called about trying to see my account online, the rep advised me my bill was ready and included a $40 activation fee for the HUM as well as $30 for the monthly fee--WHAT??? so I brought it back to the store, the girl that was "helping" me kept saying -- well you did sign for it-- I signed a little green box on a pad-- and had no visibility to my bill because it was set up with a dummy account. She then acted like she was doing me a HUGE favor, because the manager on duty was much nicer than the other manager and if that other scary manager was there, I would never have gotten my $$ back. She then instructed my husband to "just sit down" because she was working on it even though I was 100% at fault for not asking if there was a charge for the device going in the bag-- I have been in sales for over 20 years, if I ever spoke to a client like that-- I would lose my job! I had the privilege of paying a $40 restocking fee on a product I never asked for, used or wanted. It was the only way to get out of it. They said they would issue a credit on my bill, which never happened- I had to call customer service and ask for it, a call that took 40 minutes. I am sure there was some type of contest or spiff for these devices as literally there was no mention or talk of it until I asked why he put it in my bag-- they totally robbed me. NOT to mention, the service kind of sucks, Verizon is supposed to be the best-- but its slow and some pics don't load or messages don't get sent, but if you want, you have the option of paying even more for their real service, not just their "introductory service" WHAT A TREAT!!! Total free Wireless is about 1/4 of the cost and works way better- I only switched because I needed coverage in Canada. Again, this store is full of arrogant crooks, stay away! read more

Walking into this store I feel like carrion being descended upon by vultures. As I sat waiting, I counted 12 staff members for four customers. My understanding was that this location is generally hopping, which I suppose explains the excess staff, but I saw no evidence of it. The staff were knowledgeable enough to take care of what I needed, although it took a lot longer than I'd anticipated (especially since the place was empty). You would be crazy to buy any of the parts/accessories they have available, since everything is for sale online at a fraction of the price. They are masters of the upsell, managing to convince my mom on a separate visit that she needed to get a heavy glass screen protector for every phone on her plan, so I'd recommend being quite certain in advance what you'll be coming out with. Overall the store was very tidy, and if you have to go to a Verizon store this one was more than adequate. read more

Not sure who the accountant for Verizon is but I'm pretty sure they're running scans to get your money and here's how... One that 14 day return policy tell me why you don't receive a bill until the 16th day so if your not 100% satisfied to bad your stuck..2 when your supposed to get credit they keep a good portion of it and say taxes. Watch out here it is I was told I would be receiving two twenty dollar credits on next bill so I said how much would that be she said $53 and my bill 79.19 how's that possible she then replies taxes if my total bill with taxes with is 79.19. So now I'm like this is a scam she can't even explain it and before I really start to dig she offer some more money off. If I could leave ZERO stars, I would. Verizon in the WNY area has NO customer service. It is non-existent. After waiting a month for a service call appointment, they were a no-show. No phone call or text to let us know. Called their so-called customer service number and was told that a message to the technicians had been sent and instead of having me hold indefinitely, they would call me back to tell me what was happening. Big surprise that there was no phone call that day....or ever. Called to complain the next day and it was the usual "so sorry, we'll get back to you" - which basically means that there is no reason to expect that they will call me or come out to fix the problem. I stopped in because I knew I had an upgrade, I kind of always dread these situations, because they are usually never pleasant. However, my recent experience was the best! I was greeted right away, my questiones were answered quickly, and no one argued with what I wanted or tried to over sell me! Setting up my new phone and getting all my info on took some time, but the lady helping me was so patient and extremely friendly, I felt like I was talking to a friend the entire time. I was laughing, sharing stories, all while they were taking care of me. The store was busy also, and I was impressed for how well I was taken care of. This Verizon has gone downhill since I got my iPhone 6S in 2015. I went today to upgrade my iPhone and they had none in stock except X. I understand it's after Christmas but really get it together!!! Not only that, the lady helping us was nothing but useless and hard to understand( she mumbled a lot)...She also said that they can't help me transfer the data to the new phone(that's false because I had this exact store do it for me before with the 6s)...she was nothing but completely useless!! When told that the wait would be long, I asked about making an appointment. I was told that it wouldn't matter either way because I would still have to wait past my appointment time. Seriously? Matt at this store was the reason - it is all about customer service - he was very professional and after our initial meeting - he gave his cell number so I can contact him ( also set up appointment - no waiting ) . He also help me to find the best discounts within Verizon network- my old number was ported over to my new phone within 30 min. Verizon wireless is a horrible company for customer service. I had gotten a new phone in February 2016 after having 3 "certified like new" replacements due to faulty phone. I was on the new every 2 plan. They would not allow me to go on it again. They said my only option was to pay full retail, approximately $700, maybe more, maybe less... OR... Go on their pay monthly plan. I went monthly to avoid a huge expense. Since then there were 2 manufacturer defects causing me to be without my phone for almost a month total while Motorola repaired it. Now, in 2 weeks time they have sent me 3 "replacements" and even the 3rd one has functioning issues. I went into the store on Niagara Falls Blvd and the manager there was extremely rude to me and couldn't see why I wasn't wanting a 4th refurbished phone in 2 weeks. I pay $140 monthly for service and a phone that is never working properly. I was told I could pay $397 for the remaining balance on the defective phone and then purchase a new one???? What the hell kind of customer service is that??? Six phones in 11 months... And they don't understand why I am upset at their offer of another refurbished phone!!! AND... If I want to cancel my service due to bad service they still want me to pay $397 for the defective device!!! What crooks!!! I will definitely be leaving Verizon Wireless!!!! read more

Went in Friday for a business account just to find out 3 days later after calling the business department that my application was submitted 11 times ultimate causing my service to be denied. Verizon fraud department said it caused me to be denied for service and this was after I was in thier store for 5 hours total over 2 days! Then I got everything fixed over the phone, told to go back to the store to pick up my equipment just so Chris could put in a 12th application instead of just completing my order that caused it to look as if I was submitting all these applications and it flagged my account as fraud. Also the business rep Tom there who seemed friendly upon meeting me but once they my messed up my application he never returned my call. i just been label as high risk by verizon wireless for ordering two apple iphones. im drakes girlfriend. nobody believed me? so heres what the scoop. drake ordered me two phones thru verizon wireless and i agree to let him use my verizon wireless account. its the real fucking drake, im the kiki their talking about. so verizon wireless has labeled me high risk in the fraud prevention team, but they are returning money back to the card. i literally had to got to the verizon corporate store to verify my identity twice. the day before my birthday and the day of they released and declined my order in the same hour before i even had a chance to verify my identity. wait!!! theres more a ups truck delivered a package to my building but didnt come to me. verizon wireless says they never released the package but in the same week there was a package delivered. but they arre going to refund the money back to his card.???? how is that fraud?? you cant return money if its there. i should have been able to recieve my phones. someone else did? now they are telling me due to the discrepancies they cant tell me why it was considered fraud. hooooooowwwww? its my account ican choose whooom ever i want to use and or pay for my stuff as long as i have permission to use their card. it wasnt fake the money was real and i dont have any phones. icannot. i simply cannot deal woth you dumb ignorant bastards any more. i have servoce with the jetpack they say i can keep but im not allowed to order or purchase a phone thru them. aint that a bitchhhhhhh? read more

Since returning from abroad, things haven't been the same by way of costumer service in the US. I went there almost every month pay my bill. A few months ago I got to know one of the workers there. It so turned out that our family and his family went way back. He even went so far as to share family his pictures with me. When I returned recently to pay a bill the same person was there along with another person who regularly served me. It was evening and I had to attend work. I had arrived at the store 30 minutes before the store closed for the evening. There was one other person standing in line while one other was being served. The other man I was acquainted with months before was serving a small group that was together. I stood for over 20 minutes waiting just to pay a monthly bill. Because it was simply a bill payment, the other costumers were offering me a chance to go a head. The other employee who knew my late father, serving the group, insisted another person was before me and that he should go first. I became upset and brought it to the attention employee behind the counter. They contended that they don't know me I became so frustrated that i decided to leave the $74 that I might have owed and walked out of store into the shopping mall promenade 200 feet from exiting the shopping mall, I was accosted by a security guard who threatened to to arrest me while another soon arrived returning my money in an envelop. One of the guards said I could get arrested for trespassing if I returned. If I don't receive an apology from Verizon in near future, I will refuse to pay the due amount and promptly switch to another mobile phone service such as Sprint or AT&T. Such a shame! I've been a satisfied customer for so many years. Seems that in the past they have been reliable, understanding and have always given me the benefit of the doubt. I hope things end welll. read more
