Yummy! Like my undergrad days in LA, I needed a treat as a break from studying. So, I decided to take a walk and see what Mountain View had to offer. A friend and I stumbled across this place on Villa Street and noticed it was packed with people (usually a good sign). Everyone inside and out was holding a drink of some sort. So, my friend and I ventured inside and were excited to see their huge menu offerings. I ordered a Taro Milk Tea with Pearls and my friend ordered an Almond Milk Tea with Pearls. DELICIOUS! It totally cheered me up and relieved some stress. My friend and I have been back several times and are still quite pleased with the drinks and the Taiwan Thick Toast with Peanut Butter. Yummy x 2! We, however, don't go as often now since they remodeled. We're not really fans of tight, cramped entry ways. read more

they have plastic dome lids instead of the nifty heat-sealed lids... booo. otherwise, the boba milk tea i had here was decent. good flavor, though the tapioca balls were a little too sweet. they serve various snack foods that i didn't try, but smelled good from nearby tables. park in the free structure right around the corner. :D oh and they have free wireless here (at least i'm assuming, since i saw like 4 or 5 people with laptops). p.s. i think the "frothy milk tea" (or rather, "forthy milk tea" as it says on their menu board) is what other places just call milk tea. there's a thin layer of froth at the top from being shaken, but the rest is liquid. read more

The tea here is not bad, but I don't think it's great either. I haven't seen the remodel, but the old place was decent. My main complaint is that there wasn't enough seating. Service isn't particularly friendly, but I guess you're just getting tea. I've never eaten any of the food or snacks here. read more

Grabbed a hot honey milk tea with boba before strolling along the streets of downtown. I was pleasantly surprised as i softly blew into the little hole of my drink cover and took a cautious sip that the drink did not scorch my tongue or lip. We all had that experience before, Ordering a drink that is too hot to drink and waiting several minutes before it is the right temperature to consume. But not here! :) The boba had nice soft texture yet chewable. As I was finishing up my drink I was stunned that the bobas went through the little hole and maintained the consistency as a true boba should even in the warm liquid surrounding. It did not become soggy or brittle like others that I have tried in the past. Can't wait to come back and try more flavors! read more

I use to love Verde, but I have to admit that the new boba milk tea spots popping up everywhere are definitely giving this place a run for it's money. However, overall I still think it's a good milk tea store. Jasmine milk green tea with tapioca is my staple. The only criticism is the inconsistency of the boba.... but I feel like that applies to most of the bobas at all stores. $3.75, average price. read more

The quality of the drinks here put the Cupertino location to shame! I've been coming here every week after work to grab something to drink or eat since it's right there. The menu is the same as the Cupertino location but I find the consistency and quality of the items here are better for some reason. A few items that I've gotten here before: FOOD: Chicken wings- battered chicken with a salty taste. Comes with flat fried potatoes. Popcorn chicken- exactly like the chicken wings but samer and without the bones. Comes with fries. DRINKS: Frothy oolong tea- Extremely refreshing drink! Nicely sweet but not too much. Melon freeze- This one is so AMAZING! Usually slush drinks are filled with powdery sugar substances which can the make the drinks really sweet but not this one! *Recommended* Mango freeze- Taste like the Asian mango jelly cups that you would get at the stores (the one that comes in a plastic jar!) My second favorite freeze here! Strawberry freeze- Good drink but it doesn't have anything that's really special to me. Last like a freeze that you can probably get at Quickly's or something. Ginger tea- GREAT for a sore throat! I don't know how many times I've gotten a ginger tea here for when I saw sick! *Recommended for when you're sick* Tips: -They take 4 star cards! -Takes cash and credit card (CC minimum charge: $5) -Very narrow and small place. Might be difficult to find seating. read more

I ASKED FOR NO SUGAR AND I THINK THEY PUT EXTRA! She pretended to make me another one when I made a Too Sweet Tea Face (surprisingly like a Bitter Beer Face) but it tasted the same. I threw it out, then proceeded to pout during the entire train ride home. read more

I was expecting this place to be awesome since there was a long line outside the door. However I just thought it was ok. Although the tapioca was good, the milk tea was watered down which is a huge turn off for me. The price is decent for the amount you get, but overall just an average place. read more

I'm heartbroken. I LOVED Verde when it was strictly fobbed out with its looping fobby music videos and fobby customers who loved watching Jay and Jolin "MTVs" while sipping their fobby ass pearl milk teas and munching on their fobby Taiwanese toast. It was so fun to sit there for hours to people watch and silently laugh at them in my head. I'd go there almost everyday to get my green apple milk tea and embrace the fobbiness. So what if the bathroom was filthy? It was part of the fob experience! Then Verde became a total sell-out and stopped playing Chinese music videos and underwent a major renovation to add "ambiance" and appeal to the mainstream crowd. Now fobs are the minority clientele, and Verde has completely lost its entertainment factor. Even though the watermelon juice with aloe is fucking out of this world, I no longer have the desire to visit this establishment. So sad. read more

This Verde is always booming with business. I come here frequently to hang out and catch up with friends. I fell in love with their Pudding Milk Tea and as a result, gained a few pounds. If you're a fan of their milk tea, try adding some pudding with it... mmm! I'm a repeat weekly customer and I'm pretty sure the workers recognize me by now. I've never been hungry enough for their toast, but I have heard good things about it. My friends love to order the chicken cutlet, which is just okay to me. The sweet potato fries are okay as well, it's a good munchie to have when chit-chatting. read more

This is the only place that I know in the Bay Area that serves Pudding Milk Tea w/ Boba. I have yet to have this type of drink anywhere else so I will be kind enough to give this place 4 stars. I do feel that the drinks were a bit on the high side. Also they seem to not flavor the drinks enough. It was a bit light when I drank it. I would have preferred them to use thicker tea flavor and a little more pudding. That would own 5 stars from me. Will give this place another try and edit my review later. read more

I can't really speak much about the experience, because we got some black milk tea with grass jelly to go, but our teas were delicious! The grass jelly was super light and fresh, and the tea frost was refreshing and light like a good granita but no ice chips. The texture was amazing, and I was amazed at how long the tea stayed frozen. YUM. Can't wait to come back here and try more. read more

Think their wheat germ milk tea with pudding is almost as good as Tea Era's offering, but it can be inconsistent depending on who makes it for you. While Tea Era might be my top choice, I find myself at Verde more often than not because of their indoor seating (perfect for a group of friends on a cold night) and they usually are open when Tea Era isn't. They recently started up a rewards program too which takes some of the wind out of Tea Era's sails. The best part about Verde though is their dinner plates. It's a FANTASTIC value for the amount of food you get. The quality isn't bad at all. If my office didn't supply dinner I'd be at Verde much more often. read more

Cons: 1. What's up with the missing frothy milk tea flavors? It has been unavailable since May. Have you thought about restocking? 2. What's up with the missing QQ Ramen? I would love some in my frothy milk tea. Any chance you would be restocking that too? 3. My friend ordered a large jasmine milk tea. When customers order a large milk tea, do you like to water it down and make your customers feel like they just wasted their money? Because that jasmine milk tea tasted just like water and yes, it was a waste of money. 4. Rude customer service. This middle-aged Asian man working the cashier was just rushing the orders. Pro: 1. There are indoor seating, unlike Verde Tea Cafe in Cupertino. Moral of the story: RESTOCK YOUR FLAVORS AND QQ RAMEN! read more

YUM. I love tea and Verde always satisfies my cravings. They have quality teas and the sizes are huge. They are also a part of the FiveStars Reward Program, which is always a plus! read more

I didn't like my old review too much so here's an update. Pros: -- Yummy original pearl milk tea, its my favorite, nobody does it like Verde -- Melon milk tea is also a plus, just the right amount of melon flavor -- their lunch special from 230 tl 530 is only 4.50 for a pearl milta tea & calamari/chicken -- nice staff, except for that one asian lady. she needs a vacation -- bathroom is always clean Cons; -- calamari & chicken is soggy as fuck when the place gets busy -- it's really cramped in here. if someone pushing 300 walked in I'm sure they'd walk back out lawl they have those red stools on the "bar" such a bad idea -- you can't play cards or be loud here. WTF @ you can't play cards. -- the tv is really nice but you can't hear it ever. unlike tap ex where it's the center of attention and always loud enough for people to hear read more

First off, the cashier insisted on flirting with some girl in the back instead of coming out and greeting us to take our order. The drinks are exactly like the Verde in Cupertino, though the ambiance is completely different; it looks like something more of an American cafe or coffee shop instead of an Asian drink place. My fried and I had their tapioca milk tea, and their tapioca was fresh and chewy. We also opted for their Taiwan-style peanut butter thick toast and their popcorn chicken with fries; the toast and the chicken made my taste buds go ballistic, but the fires are as unengaging as driving a Prius: cold, soggy, and miserable. Our food and drinks came out at a relatively fast pace. I would have given this place four stars (much better service than their Cupertino counterpart), but I still can't get over the fact how the cashier simply sat on the counter and flirted with his coworker even though he clearly saw us enter. Talk about customer service. read more

I used to think Verde's tea was one of the better boba shops, but after going to Tea Era for months, I have to say, I'm not very impressed. I ordered the Rose Green Tea with Pearls, since that's what I normally get at Tea Era. It tasted very artificial and too sweet. I also don't like how their smallest size is so huge, and because of that they just charge you more for everything. Also, the layout of the store is pretty bad, since the line goes straight out of the store if there are more than 4 people. Also, the girl at the cash register helps out with making the drinks, so the line moves extremely slow. When people are waiting for their orders, there isn't much room so everyone just squeezes around the counter. This is especially a problem when people order the Popcorn Chicken, which takes longer. People who only order drinks have to make their way around the customers waiting for Popcorn Chicken, and it's just chaos. And this is at 3pm on a Friday. I can't imagine what this place is like during peak hours. read more

There are really two things about verde that are good or novel: 1) Seating 2) Friend chicken Notice what I didn't list. read more

I was really sad to hear that the other location in Cupertino I used to frequent was closed!!!! I was heartbroken. Where could I get my frothy milk tea now????? The mountain view location at the time was extremely far for me and I'm sorry, as much as I love boba. I wouldn't make a 30 minute drive. Luckily, I work in MTV and I HAVE ACCESS TO THE BEST FROTHY MILK TEA EVER!!!! My personal favorite is the mint milk tea because it's close to ice cream. Verde is definitely different from the average milk tea shops because they make theirs creamier and frothy which I love! Their popcorn chicken has been really salty lately so I stopped ordering those... I wished it was all just chicken because im not a fan of the fries. Parking is street parking and there's plenty of little lots all over downtown MTV. It shouldn't be too hard of a find nor a walk for that matter. read more

Went here to check it out today. I work right off Page Mill and El Camino. It's quite different now since I no longer work in FiDi SF so I have to take my car everywhere~ (ugh) GAS PRICES ARE SO FREAKIN' HIGH!! So I had this strange craving for avocado shake with pearl and after reading the reviews, it's time for this lil' mama to venture out. I should've left earlier and instead, I caught the lunch crowd traffic. I found parking in the garage and had a brisk walk over to the Verde Tea Espresso Bar where I was greeted by a friendly staff. Kudos. I ordered the Matcha & Avocado smoothie. OH HAPPY DAY..as soon as those boba were slurped - I swear, the angels sang. They were the right sweetness, consistency and goodness! Although the Matcha overkilled my "avocado" smoothie - I couldn't really bitch and complain..it's all about the tapioca. I was surprised by the size of that thing..more bang for your buck. Next time, I'll try their lunch specials. Saw they were advertising a chicken curry plate! MMMMMyummy. read more

I love their milk teas. I've gotten a variety of their pearl milk teas, both hot and cold and have not been disappointed. The pearls are cooked perfectly and I love how milk tea is frothy. I had a bite of the salty fried chicken and it was pretty good. It's a quaint cafe and I like coming here for a break from work. I gave them 3 stars only b/c their entry way sucks. How do more than 2 people fit in that area? If there was a fire, people would certainly get trampled trying to escape. The Mountain View Fire Department is literally 2 blocks down from them on Villa and I'm not sure how the Fire Marshall allowed them to get away with that entryway. read more

The cafe is a bit cramped, since the space is extremely narrow with multiple tables. I tend to order the strawberry pearl milk tea, since it's my default drink; the drinks come out almost instantly after ordering them. It's a little perplexing how that happens...and almost scary. I've never had a bad drink. The pearls are quite soft, and slightly sweet, although not as a sweet as the pearls from other locations I've been to. I find that the pearls from Verde tend to stick together more than other places, although I'm not sure if that's a sign of something. Other notes: Most drinks are around $3.00 or so, and they come in a 20 oz-ish cup. That's a lot of tea for that price. Parking is somewhat plentiful, since there is a garage and a lot nearby. read more

I remember when this place first opened and it was actually painted a baby lime inside...oh how far you've come verde! Why I love this place: + they take cash AND credit card (over $5 purchase) + you can request less/more/no sugar + GRAPEFRUIT FREEZE with REAL grapefruit + regular size = BIG SIZE + expanding food menu + FRIED TOFU NOM NOM NOM + Afternoon Tea Time (Happy Hour) read more

I liked this tea place alot. Came here for a tea break during my internship this summer, and I was satisfied with the level of service and quality of tea I received. Anytime I go to a boba place I end up choosing a thai tea, and this place did not disappoint. In addition, the place looked clean, and the music playing wasn't too bad eiher(probably) 94.9. read more

One of the better tea joints, however really small and an inconvenient lay out. The teas are good, the pearls are good (especially the mini ones), and If you wanna try some good fried finger foods, try the popcorn chicken and the fried tofus, however, the fried squid has a horrible smell to them and tasted like rubber bands. It made me nauseous. There is a happy hour that you might wanna catch, but i forget the times. This place gets overly packed (hence the inconvenient lay out), however there is a generous patio area and huge parking lot. This place is a good place to mingle because it is loud and there are a lot of people. read more

The cheese cake is pretty cheap but not as good as it looks. The cheese flavor is kinda weak. And I think they added water into the chocolate sauce cuz it barely has any chocolate flavor! I also had the salty fried chicken. It was over-fried and too much flour...Loud place, narrow space, but their milk tea is not bad. I like the Pudding milk tea and the hazelnut one with pearls. & btw, they don' t have wifi anymore. ;( read more

Hands down the best ice tea place i've been to in the bay area. Its good so its gets crowded, but they are fast and consistent in service. read more

Lots of seats for a boba place. Props for being open until 12:30am and not kicking out a bunch of drunk guys who decided to stop by after bar hopping. I got the coconut milk tea with boba. It tasted good and was worth the price (~$3.50), but I can't really attest to the quality so much because at that point I think pretty much anything would have tasted good. It was better than the nearby Tea Era though. There's a $10 minimum for credit card, which was really annoying. There was an outlet underneath my seat. read more

First off this place is very crowded - you have the same line at tea era, but the layout here forces the line to cramp together and spill out even with only 5 people, which makes me reluctant to go in whenever I see the crowded doorway. Apart from that it is alright. Most of the things you get here (as far as I know) are quite sweet and somewhat less authentic then what you get from tea era, but if you don't need your tea to taste strongly of tea, it works. They do offer the less sugar/no sugar options, but some of their staff don't seem to know that so you may or may not be able to actually get those options. Overall its okay - I come here when tea era isn't open, but it leaves me unsatisfied. read more

My +1 brought me here for desert after another excellent meal at Shabuway. She ordered a honeydew milk tea + pearls + lychee for me and man... it is so GOOD!!! It definitely made my afternoon much happier and coincidentally, it helped me to crack a tough prosecution case. Hahaha.. I didn't see many customers though and the interior looks kinda dull. By anyway, the most important is that the drinks are GOOD!! read more

The drinks are decent, but very watered down. Then my Salty Crispy chicken wasn't really chicken at all, the majority of the portion was sweet potato fries that were very stale and horrible tasting, and very minimal amounts of chicken. The service is horrible, as they took a call instead of taking my order, and then began to complain at me because my order was $4.03 and I only had a dollar bill to cover the 3 cents. I WILL NEVER comeback here again! Fucking outrageous! read more

Its terrible place, We went there on some Tuesday cuz Era Tea was closed... took some food too, chicken cutlets... with free tea. I asked if I can get tea with milk and no sugar...... There was no problem..... Finally my meal was terrible, cutlet was "swimming" in oil.... i wasn't able to eat it .... and story with my tea.... I got just black tea, so my friend asked if they can just add a bit off milk, ... but that guy just threw out my tea and said we have to pay for tea with milk.... so we paid..... but I got very sweet tea... so then I had to throw out it.... I will never be back to Verde, I can always drink oil straight from a bottle and eat sugar straight from a bag :P read more

Been here once and thought the milk tea was lackluster. Positives? Boba (or pearls, as they like to say up here) was chewy and the tea was indeed frothy as indicated on the menu. Milk tea was really light ... maybe they add a lot of milk? I couldn't really taste any tea. It was more like sweet milk with boba. And it was REALLY sweet. I should have read the other reviews about requesting half sugar only. You seem to get a lot of bang for your buck here though... their "regular" is larger than most places and is only $3.00. read more

Frothy drinks.. different. I got their jasmine milk tea and mint green tea. The jasmine wasn't strong and the mint green tea was a winner to me, that was pretty good. there's always a wait out the door, but only because the place is poorly designed. They're backed up with orders so they'll make you wait before taking your order. $5 min for credit card use. read more

Wow, I wouldn't mind trading in Teaway or Quicklys in SF for a Verde, seriously. Boyfriend brought me here for a treat, and I must say, I've found my favorite tapioca place hands down. I ordered the Mango Milk Tea with pudding, and my boyfriend got an Earl Grey Milk Tea with pudding. I LOVED the mango, it was sooo good. It had a hint of sourness and I really liked it, tasted like real fruits. I didn't see if they made it from powder, but whatever it was, it wasn't powdery and I'd get it again for the taste. The early grey was also pretty decent too. (Though the after tastes of trying mango milk tea and ear grey tea was funky :P ) I'd love to come back again, but its way too far. haha. They really need to kick out one of the useless Quicklys and bring in a Verde. read more

Tea. Earl Grey. Hot. I always get the earl grey milk tea here.. One of the few places left that fresh brews it before they make it. The Royal Milk Tea also kicks ass--they add a little bit of brandy to a normal earl grey milk tea. Ask them to let the teabags steep a little longer, to make sure you get the flavor right ;). This place is one of the VERY FEW REAL bubble tea shops left. They still make it with a HOT tea, adding to an cocktail shaker, adding milk or whatever flavor, and shaking it up. It's called BUBBLE tea (pao mo cha) because of the foam on top after shaking it. It MUST be hot for the foam to really come out. Most people nowadays just pour out pre-mixed milk tea into a cup and serve it to you. LAZY-ASSES. Verde, however, STILL MAKES IT RIGHT. Like how I used to have it in Taiwan. I came to this shop when it first opened, and qing-qing knows me, though she's usually at the stores with worse business. If you like the pearls and stuff, they have normal sized pearls, little mini pearls called QQ's, and little coffee jelly cubes called "dark bricks". I like the latter 2 better because my jaw gets tired of chewing the normal sized pearls. The "popcorn chicken" rulez. I would give this place 5 stars, but the blended drinks and lots of people sometimes make it really noisy, making it hard to talk. read more

I really want to like one of the bubble tea place around this area more, at least one of them, but really cannot like it that much. Got the rose bubble tea, as usual, but it doesn't taste rose at all, and tastes very watery. Blah... The honey lemon tea tastes ok, but I still think they put too much water and doesn't have much tast. read more

2.5 stars I decided to venture out and try a new boba place yesterday. I ordered the BLACK MILK tea with boba and the FRIED SALTY CHICKEN to go. I was disappointed in both of them :( The milk tea had too much dairy that it took away from the black tea flavor. The boba was too soft and tasteless. The Taiwanese chicken bites were alright but I've had much better with more authentic flavors. The sweet potatoes that came with the chicken was flavorless and they were not cooked all the way through. What the heck?! I JUDGE boba places based on the basic drinks --black/green milk tea and their bobas. This place didn't pass. I won't be ordering the same drink again or the chicken...I maaaaaaaaay try their toast and regular flavored tea but they're not my usual orders. SEATING: There are a number of tables and chairs for you to sit. But at 5:30pm on a Tuesday, this place was already packed. read more
