We went on Saturday night with another couple. As soon as we arrived and sat in a booth, the waitress spilled a 12oz frozen margarita on a friends lap. He was soaked for the entire meal and the 20 mi the ride home. I felt sooo sorry for him and he was so embarassed. He was miserable the entire meal. If it had been water, not so bad. But a sticky margarita. Yuck. Nor the waitress or the restaurant did anything for him. Didn't even give him a free margarita. A friend recommended this place to me so I wanted to give it a try. I don't fully understand the parking situation here but I was able to find a spot after circling around twice. I ordered the grilled fish taco, brisket taco, and chicken fajita quesadilla. The grill fish taco was topped with a lime green sauce and had plenty of fish. Shocking that it came with corn. Went for lunch yesterday and enjoyed the patio seating and overall experience. However the plants outside are smelling like sewage so I'm not sure what's up with that. So I always love this area, it's super welcome. Has a lot of different things to eat and drink. Restaurant itself is nice, it's a little dark but it has a little bit of intimacy to the vibe of it. I tried a few different things. The chimichuri taco was good. The steak was pretty tender and the chimichurri seemed good and fresh. The fajita bowl (chicken) was okay, the chicken seemed a little dry and not as flavorful as the tacos, but it was okay. There were more beans in it than meat or rice. The carnitas taco was also good and tender and had a lot of flavor. The service was good, I got seated immediately. They have indoor and outdoor seating, so it really depends on what the day looks like for you to make that decision. read more

Pretty restaurant. Food is bland even by the most picky people's standards. I ordered the fajita bowl with chicken. Since there was no flavor I asked for pico de gallo or even diced jalapeños. I added everything and even the jalapeños weren't spicy. I didn't have more than 10 bites of my whole bowl. Finally I gave up and just asked for the check. The waitress knew how I felt about the food and never brought the manager over or anything. I didn't say anything, just paid and tipped and left. My girls and I were looking for a Mexican spot that we hadn't tried before. This place was cool! They offer a variety of tacos, which are all sold al La carte. I had the fajita quesadilla. We got there on a Saturday night with no reservation and were seated pretty quickly. We did have to drive around the block a couple times before finding a parking spot. The loaded queso was absolutely fantastic. The mixture of the beef, guacamole, sour cream and pico de gallo was great. The dirty bird had so many black beans so there were a lot of those left when I finished. The chicken pieces were cut really big, I wish that would've been diced a bit smaller but overall it was good. Oh and the service was really quick. We eat here often. I generally get a blueberry margarita and fish tacos. Some people mistakenly think it has corn on it. It does not. It has mango salsa on it. Service is always great. The food is presented well. The chips, guacamole and cheese were tasty. The salsa was a good with the right amount of spice. I wish the cheese and guacamole had more spice. Don't be fooled by the bowls. They are healthy portions and filling. Consider adding the fajita veggies. Such an added bonus to your palate. The ice cream and fried Oreos with drezzled chocolate sauce are delicious. Try the margarita on the rocks or frozen. Enjoy the buzz. The service is great. They continually checked on us. We ordered take out from Verde since we were craving Mexican food. Unfortunately, the food looked better than it tasted. The Fajita Quesadilla with Steak and the Fajita Bowl with Grilled Chicken were incredibly bland, and the latter had more black beans than any other ingredients in the entree. I've heard lots of hype around this place and I'm not sure if it's actually about the food just the location or maybe I ordered the wrong thing. I got the Buffalo tofu taco and it was just cubes of tofu, drenched in buffalo sauce literally dripping out of the taco with raw celery. The side of Brussels sprouts weren't crispy just covered in just a super sweet sauce. It just tasted like sugar or straight up honey. The service was good. Stopped by the Verde in Brookhaven for drinks with friends. This location is on the Dresden strip of bars, restaurants, and shops. The Mexican restaurant has an extensive taco menu and then good staples(guacamole, queso, salads etc). I enjoyed the Brussels (fried for $3), the trio(guac, salsa, and queso for $9), and a frozen Moscow mule. They have a rotating adult slushy. I hope they bring back frose soon! If you can grab a spot. Patio seating feels great in the evenings. It's a bit dark inside so the front and back patios offer nice space and a few people brought their pups. Parking is a bit of a challenge so Uber or walk if you can. There is a lot behind the restaurants that gets dull pretty quickly. There is also street parking if you can find it. read more

How have I never reviewed this place before now? This spot become a regular when my brother moved down the street 6 years ago. We came here with his family at least once a month because we could walk to it and his kids love cheese dip. I am sure his family came here a thousand times without me. The service is consistently friendly, fast and they have many options for seating with indoor, bar and patio. Oh, the cheese dip and crispy warm chips. Yes, warm chips are so lovely. My brother moved so I was sad to lose this place and then I joined a small group and it turned out to be down the street so it is consistently a great spot for dinner. When I am on my own or with my hubby we prefer the bar. This bar is one of my favs because the bartender knew my order after a few times of sitting at the bar. It has a few TVs too so if you need a distraction they have one. I appreciate that when I sit down he confirms what I want before he begins making my organic margarita or puts in an order for the trio appetizer (cheese dip, salsa, guacamole). We love to order a variety of tacos or quesadillas. We have tried and enjoyed so many of them. Pork, Baja fish, Medi veggie, short rib taco, but our very favorite are grilled fish and buffalo tofu. I get a buffalo tofu every time I am there and am ordering tacos cause I can't resist it. They have salads, soups, black bean dip, crispy calamari, bowls, and nachos too, but I haven't tried them. read more

Verde is a quaint, comfortable neighborhood restaurant that's great for families. There are always a lot of children and babies eating here. The tacos are all pretty good, with my favorites being the Buffalo chicken taco, the dirty bird, and the beef taco. The Buffalo chicken is also great in the quesadilla or added onto one of their salads. The salsa is nothing to write home about, but their guacamole is honestly one of my favorite things on their menu. All in all- there are solid options, but don't expect anything authentic and I wouldn't recommend it delivered (the tacos usually don't travel well). read more

Service is amazing. On a busy night we were greeted, seated and food on the table in less than 15 minutes! Vivica's sunny smile made us feel right at home. House marg was strong and large. Texas marg stepped it up. Chimichurri steak taco was delicious and the southwest salad a decently healthy option. The only criticism I have is that it could have used more spice across the board. The Chipotle vinaigrette I ordered for the salad was deliciously spicy and by comparison both the salsa and the guacamole were pretty bland. Throw some hot sauce on the tables and we can remedy that situation pretty quickly. read more

The food is consistently good, and this service is as well. Is also consistent that they don't offer up the specials and you always have to ask. The seating is less than desirable hard chairs, and the tables are very close together. Guess they don't want you to stay there long and never do because their seats are uncomfortable. Came here yesterday for dinner with a friend. Based on some of the reviews, I honestly didn't expect much. I was pleasantly surprised! We both ordered two blood-orange and jalapeño margaritas, queso with chips, and a few tacos. I ordered the steak chimichurri and chilli shrimp tacos, while my friend ordered the bbq chicken quesadilla. Everything was quite good! Nothing extraordinary, but overall good. Prices were also very reasonable for the serving size. The service was top notch as well. I gave my experience 4 stars because I wasn't a huge fan of the margarita. You can find Verde Taqueria at 1426 Dresden Dr, Atlanta, GA 30319 - this is in the heart of "Brookhaven along Dresden" and near Kaleidoscope Bistro and Pub which I've reviewed previously. Verde is on the corner of one of the low-rises that houses businesses (and apartments/condo?) in this mini-complex. Parking is free on the streets that surround the buildings or you can opt for one of the lots or nearby valet. Verde is what I would call a typical American-concept taqueria joint serving up fresh house-made tacos in flavor combinations more attuned for the average American palate - you see them all around these days - I believe Verde is a local Atlanta chain but could be wrong about that. The interior is industrial with some amusing Tex-Mex accents and there's a fairly well-stocked bar - of course the idea here is to spend your hours drinking house-made tequilas (margaritas and shots) and nibbling on snacks. For this purpose the restaurant does a fine job - I would recommend sitting outside on the patio if it's not too hot. In the evenings there are plenty of families (probably locals) so this place is definitely kid-friendly. I've now eaten here a few times (first visit was back in 2016) both for lunch and dinner. I think the food is pretty good - I like that the chips are fresh and usually hot when they come to the table. The portions seem a tad small compared to the prices, but then again I live 2 miles from Buford Highway so everything is skewed towards the cheaper/authentic side for me so take that with a grain of salt. The margaritas I've tried were good and strong - even with the frozen I managed to cop a buzz. The last time I was there I ordered the "Trio" which includes salsa, guacamole and cheese dip. I thought the guacamole excellent with plenty of lime and cilantro - if you're not a fan of the latter then pass. The salsa is passable and the cheese dip what you would expect - both are above average when compared to the free stuff you get in the authentic Mex joints. We also ordered the Chicken Quesadilla and the Buffalo Chicken Quesadilla. I liked the first better than the buffalo - the latter seemed a bit forced and the black beans were under-cooked/chewy. We also had a few cans of obligatory Tecate beer with lime - if you ever spend time in Mexico you'll know that this is probably the favorite of the locals and worth having when it's available - it's light and very refreshing. The service was passable if a little inconsistent - the first time I dropped by during an early lunch I was by myself and virtually ignored. The second time (also during lunch) with a table of four the service was better. With me and my wife drinking margaritas we were well attended but the crowds hadn't hit yet - so I'd say it was typical based on sales/tip so keep that in mind (restaurants really like to seat 4-tops the best to both get table turns and up the average price with drinks and appetizers). I'd call this place a good option, especially if you like tequila and if it's not too hot, sitting on the patio. Otherwise, there's a Pure not too far away that's similar and better. A very family-friendly establishment. Really deserves a 3 but gave a 4 because the service was pretty quick, efficient, and super nice. I came here already knowing that the food wasn't going to be super authentic. With that being said, I ordered the dirty bird bowl. The food is just average in general. The bowl came with Mexican rice but it just tasted like regular rice. There wasn't much seasoning or flavor. The only spice it had was the pickled fried jalapeño in the bowl and even that lacked a lot of flavor. Black beans had no seasoning.The chips and salsa were good but it's not complimentary. Verde is more of an Americana food place with a SLIGHT mexican twist. If you want authentic Mexican food then I suggest going to a restaurant on Buford highway. read more

I don't normally vent or complain on Facebook, but today I find it extremely necessary. It's a beautiful day, the boys and I enjoyed this morning at the Farmer's Market and then we decided to eat outside for lunch and enjoy the sunshine. We decided to go to Verde, a taqueria in Brookhaven off Dresden. It can be a risk sometimes taking Kellan to restaurants, as he has a tick that forces him to scream (most of the time he can't control it). He typically doesn't do it in familiar places to him. Unfortunately, this was one of the screaming days. We had already placed our order when it started. I was able to calm him down and we started to enjoy our meal. A while later, Kellan screams again. The manager (I later found out was the owner), approached our table and asked us if there was a problem and we told him that Kellan is on the spectrum and he cannot control it. He said several tables asked to go inside because of him and asked us to leave. I looked around, and the only table that left was a single woman at a 2 top. I did not make a scene, but everything inside me was shaking. I had to stay strong. Having barely touched our food, I asked for the check and some to go boxes. The table behind us was a family we knew from Jake's class, and she said she went inside and talked to him and defended us. She said he was the owner and he lied to her face stating that he did not ask us to leave. She started crying to me seeing how unjustly Kellan was treated. She herself has a family member on the spectrum, and the entire incident deeply impacted her. I am so grateful for the woman that had the gumption and empathy to stand up for my son. Needless to say I will never step foot in that restaurant again. There may be mixed opinions about this, but as my son's mother, I hope you see my perspective.
