Came in on a Thursday for a lunch hour visit and we pulled it off perfectly -- in and out in under an hour with a great meal. The elevated outdoor patio was the right call, we were greeted immediately after sitting down. We asked for a lunch menu and got right to it. I ordered the chicken rice bowl and a kale Caesar. The rice bowl was the star -- perfectly cooked, well seasoned, and not dry at all. The Caesar was decent but needed more dressing out of the gate. I did ask for extra after tasting it and that fixed it, so just ask upfront and save yourself the step. We split a pomegranate agua fresca in a pitcher between three of us and it was really refreshing -- great call for a midday lunch in the sun. Solid spot for a quick but elevated lunch. Would definitely come back. read more

Still so bad. I'm at a loss. We arrived at 7 on a Sunday and there were plenty of open tables. We decided to sit on the patio and they accommodated us with a large umbrella. That is the best of it. 10 minutes for anyone to come by. 10 more minutes for water - its August in Atlanta. Two margaritas clock in at 15 minutes after ordering. Our waiter was very nice and energetic. But you cant fix a broken system. We were served guacamole and tuna poke but after asking and being promised a few times, we never got plates/trays for sharing. Second round of drinks were ordered at the same time the first arrived and still we waited. Our server acknowledged the significant wait times and then went in an explanation of how its always busy on Sundays and the bar tender is just overwhelmed - UM is this news to anyone? Also - it wasn't busy but if one bartender cant handle the volume the solution seems simple - add another to the schedule. And then there are the tacos. Some folks enjoyed them but if they weren't gross they were just ok with one exception - they can fry fish to crispy perfection. But then they just slap some mayo and drop it in a food service tortilla. No cilantro, no onions and no one to address this with. What was gross was fried cauliflower - limp, oily and uncooked with breading falling off and filling the taco. The enoki taco was a blob of AGAIN undercooked flour batter and some thing that looked like mushroom but had little taste. Shrimp taco was same as the fish - good fry but no attention to the accompaniments. Tortillas claim to be made but seems like they "made" their way to the back of a Sysco truck. $250 for 4 folks and no one was happy. read more

First-timer here! I arrived during lunch hours between 12:30pm and 1:00pm and surprisingly the service was quick and efficient. Zack (Zac) was our server and broke down the house rules for me. You should use the paper menu to place your order. There are napkins, silverware and chopsticks in a bucket on the table for use. You must ask for a straw. I ordered and devoured the street corn and ahi tuna + crispy rice bowl which costs $19.38 and that's with tax. It was DE-LI-CIOUS! I honestly didn't know what to expect. All I did know was that I enjoy eating ahi tuna and rice. Bartaco, you get five stars from me! read more

Super disappointed in our little local place. They couldn't sit us because their system was down. So why can't they take a piece of paper from the server to the kitchen for an order? This is insane! Management needs to get it together. Computer problems happen but to turn away regulars because you can't carry a piece of paper from a table to the kitchen? And the hostess said we could sit down and wait half an hour but all we could get was water. Bad bad bad. The comment below from management about not having the products we wanted was from eight years ago. The restaurant turning us away because their system was down was Sunday 22 February 2026. Management, all you had to do is say, "it's going to be half an hour to restart the system, sit down and have some chips and salsa while you wait." NOT "you can have water" read more

I too often dismiss Bar Taco and write it off as a "basic," nothing special, chain joint that would be more of a last resort than a planned-choice. My return to BT for the first time in a while was an important correction of that misconception. I'm here to assert that Bartaco is the perfect, quaint spot to meet up with friends, family, larger-group, small, etc.! Everything about the service and experience is made easy. Getting a table (in all my past experiences) is easy-- and I love that you don't have to have a reservation. Ordering is quick and fun, through the order slips and 'Ready' cards. I'm convinced each dish we ordered took no more then 5 minutes to come out-- super quick and convenient for our group of friends. Because it's so speedy, we could order just as we wanted something. Last min "ooooh wish we'd ordered Churros for dessert before leaving..." FEAR NOT! they'll be out in a matter a moments. The ambiance is always predictably beautiful and low-key. Last, but not least, if you're an Esquites fan (street corn off the cob with Cotija cheese) I highly recommend getting it here! Prices all around are reasonable. read more

My husband and I recently tried Bartaco for the first time. We were seeing a concert at Chastain Park and needed a close spot for dinner. This location was perfect as it was a 7 minute drive away from the amphitheater. We started off with an appetizer of guacamole, a watermelon basil marg for me and a mojito for him. I obviously couldn't wait to take a photo of the guacamole before we devoured it. The drinks were well-made and so refreshing on a hot summer evening. For our mains, he ordered the Korean BBQ Ribeye Rice Bowl and a Baja Fish Taco. I ordered 3 tacos - Baja Fish, Pork Belly and Chili-lime Shrimp. All of the food was fantastic and our service was great. Couldn't have had a better first-time experience. Highly recommend! read more

This was a really great spot for a work lunch on the weekend. The accommodate large groups easily (don't need a reservation, just a heads up), and the service was decent. We all had our own paper menus to indicate what we wanted and put our names on top. However, we ended up having a lot of stuff brought to us that we didn't order. Overall, it was nice and fun, and the food that we ordered was fantastic. read more

Quick dinner with a friend while he charged his car next door. Bartaco never disappoints. Great drinks and tacos at an affordable price point. I had the Green Margarita and a few tacos. Pork Belly and Asada. Took off one star because we were approached with the wrong food order at least 3 or 4 times. Everything did look good though! Lol This was my first time at this location and I really enjoyed the ambiance on the patio under the big tree. Be back soon! read more

Love Bartaco Chastain Park. Have been here numerous times over the past few years. This visit, mid May was great. We ordered: - Salsa Verde - always perfect. Love the Salsa. Chips ok, but we have gotten use to them. - Grilled Adobo Pineapple Taco - this was a first. I was just amazed at what might come and how it could possibly be good. It was excellent. Would definitely have this one again. Might even try to make it! - Seared Chorizo Taco - Loser of the group. It arrived almost as we finished our lunch. We should have canceled it. Tough and not very tasty. - Chicken Verde Taco - perfect blend of verde sauce to chicken. - Duck Birria - my choice to try something new. I absolutely loved it. My partner didn't like it so much. Think it is a taste thing. Almost like a quesadilla and it was stuffed with shredded duck meat. Overall rating of food is 4.5/5 Service 4.5/5. Not the wait staffs problem with the slowness of the kitchen but she should have checked on it. Atmosphere 5/5. Price 5/5 very reasonable. About $25 for lunch for two. Would definitely return and highly recommend. read more

Stopped in for a solo lunch at Bar taco Roswell today. The good: plantains - the sauce that comes with them is so tasty. Guacamole and chips was good (though a little chintzy). Falafel taco was flavorful. Mezcal margarita was very good. The meh: The other tacos were not tasty. Over sauced and the main components tasted overcooked - this was the verde chicken and the mushroom. read more

Love love love this place! The outdoors and indoors are such a nice vibe. The lighting is perfect and it's great for date nights and a girls night. The food is 10/10 amazing. The two tacos that I ate were so good and full of flavor. Everything went perfect with each other and the ceviche is to die for. I am a ceviche fan and when I tell you... I could drink that like juice in it.... Hahah so fresh. The jalapeños give it a lot of extra flavor too. The service both times I went was perfect and they're very attentive. Definitely will see me many times there! 10/10 read more

Hard to review. Arrived for dinner at 6:00 and told it was a 20 min wait, 25 min later, told it would be another 25 min ?!?! All while there are 27 empty tables. Not kidding, I counted 27 tables out of maybe 50? Don't tell me the kitchen can only handle 50% capacity. Finally left after 45 min and no table. Not likely to give Bartaco a chance again. read more

Bartaco is an easy go to for me! They are pretty consistent and I love the self ordering feature that makes it easier for myself as the customer but I also thinks helps the staff out as well. Out of all the locations, this is my favorite and for me, the best tasting. (I've tried them all). Not to mention they have a beautiful, intimate patio that is nice to dine on during the warmer months. I could rate everything as I have been enough to have tried it all, but I will go with my tried and true/favorites. Large Trio (salsas and guac): 10/10 the absolute most delicious and fresh salsas plus I love that they have chunky guacamole Kale Salad: 8/10 (get extra dressing. When dressed well, delicious) Black Beans w/ Sofrlto: 8/10 (solid beans and seasoned well) Plantains: 10/10 (so crispy and delicious with the creamy/herby sauce to offset the sweetness) Pork Belly Tacos: 10/10 (delicious, best taco hands down. Delicious candied chunks of pork belly and pickled onions) Crispy Fish Tacos: 9/10 (the fish is always battered so evenly yet light making for the perfect crispy bite. Pro tip, ask for pickled onions to add) Drinks: Margaritas: 8/10 (not too strong but consistent in flavor and light tasting) All in all, come try Bartaco for yourself, they truly have something that anyone can enjoy if you enjoy simplistic, straightforward flavors that aren't packed with sauces and addit read more

I love Bartaco so if I'm in the neighborhood or nearby one, I will usually stop to get something to eat. this particular day I was starving so I ordered all my favorite things. My waiter was definitely pleasant and helpful. I originally was gonna use the QR code on the table to order food but I noticed that there were some things missing so I asked the waiter for a paper to order my food and that worked out well. Everything was tasty. Hot and delicious. I like that this Bartaco has lots of outdoor seating and indoor seating. For a Saturday evening it wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be, so I highly recommend this location. read more

Such a cute place for tacos and drinks! I walked in around 10p on a Wednesday and was seated immediately in the patio. The patio is extremely nice and seems to be a nice option for dining in the daytime due to its ample shade. The restaurant is completely digital meaning you review the menu, order and, pay via a QR code. There are servers there to assist you but, they only come when you are initially seated and if you signal for them via putting up a bartaco card on a holder on your table. I order the lobster roll taco warmed, the shrimp taco and the salsa Verde and chips. I really enjoyed the tacos. They are small but, the price point allows you to get multiple if you're still hungry. I did end up ordering a pork belly taco after sampling my partners. It is delicious. I also tried the duck birria - A little sweet but, not bad. This restaurant is definitely a hangout for the Atlanta "celebrities". I saw influencer and salon owner, Ming Lee, during my visit. read more

At a shopping plaza, so there is parking. A plus. Seating on the patio or indoors, but it's all open really. Order via the QR code. The interactive menu keeps resetting if I leave it for a second. Unreal. I didn't have to go through the hassle and trouble of this glitchy interactive menu the last Bartaco I went to several years back. I get making it convenient for the customers to order and pay online, but the system wasn't working and kept resetting for me multiple times. Ordered the Roja salsa and chips, guacamole and chips, house salad, kale Caesar, esquites corn off the cob, 2 beans, 2 Baja tacos, 2 spiced chicken verde, 2 roasted ducks. $61.16. Breaking the hard tortilla shell makes me feel like I am at church, breaking bread during mass. The happy habanero is the better salsa of the trio. The guacamole is simple, but good. The Roja salsa has a bit of heat to it, it's not bad. The esquites, kale Caesar and the house were all good. The Baja taco is crunchy and pretty decent. Although it would better to me with more crunchy slaw instead of the standard American style slaw. The beans are more like a soup, still okay. The chicken tacos were rather bland and the meat had bits of gristle and cartilage in it, which was a most unpleasant surprise. read more

I visited Bartaco in Chastain Park for lunch and a monday and had a nice experience. The online ordering is a bit frustrating because you go to lunch to enjoy company but everyone is siting on their phones and I just don't think its necessary anymore. The few times we spoken to by a server, she was very nice. To start we ordered the chips and guac, panachos, street corn and plantains. The chips and guac and the plantains were delicious. I could have done without the other two. I also ordered a Green Margarita which tasted like overly sweet juice. I would suggest ordered 4 tacos as I went with 3 and definitely had room for another. I really enjoyed my tacos. Here is what I had: 1) chile-lime shrimp w/ jicama escabeche + zesty pepita salsa macha 2) sesame ribeye w/sweet sesame-soy glaze marinade w/ spicy kimchi 3) roasted duck w/tamarind glaze The roasted duck taco was my favorite but they were all great.
