I drove past their sign on Northside Drive for years when finally my curiosity got the better of me and I pulled in, parked and went inside. OMG. Why hadn't I stopped by sooner? I have hesitated for months to write this review because there is always a line and I didn't want to encourage anyone to get in front of me but...to be fair, they deserve a great review. First, the chicken is amazing, the salsas and tortillas are amazing and they have Dos Equis Amber on draft. What's not to like. They have open comfortable seating inside and a huge outdoor garden as well. I have ordered a lot of their smoked, wood fired rotisserie chicken. I've also ordered several different tacos. My recommendation is always order more than you can eat. The leftovers are great. I throw some chicken, cheddar and their ranchero sauce on a tortilla and eat every bit of their leftover chicken. You order at a counter but that's fine. You get your food faster. They have a great system and the staff are great. Again, what's not to like? read more

I used to ride my skateboard in the Office Park Parking Lot where this is (late 1970s). I never expected a couple of restaurants here. Format - Stand in line, order at the counter, find a table, wait for your food to be brought to you...Enjoy! See the Menu - Various Tacos and all that accompany them. We were a party of 9 so we had most everything. My favorite was the Pollo El Carbon (Half Chicken). It was smoky, moist, and flavorful. It paired greatly with the various sauces at the Salsa Bar (self serve). Get half Flour, half Corn Tortillas...both excellent. The atmosphere is typical Buckhead - colorful, loud, open. There's outside seating if you desire. Get the Softserve Ice Cream if you have room. read more

Came here for a weekday lunch and quickly ordered despite the rush. Food came to the table in good time and was all very tasty. Inside it feels like a fast casual tex mex place, which is what it is so that checks out. I would come back for a quick bite if in the mood or nearby. read more

We absolutely LOVE Little Rey's so much! The food is phenomenal and the staff is usually very friendly and helpful! Gotta love the salsa bar too! The only thing I hate is how many parents just let their kids run around, and socially outside! There should be more supervision at this location. No one wants to eat while hearing kids scream bloody murder! read more

I honestly can't believe I waited this long before finally having Little Rey. We came over here before a movie at AMC. For a Sunday afteroon it was lowkey busy. We had to wait a couple minutes in line to order and thankfully we had a table but it was a little busy.... And it took a while to get our food. I got a steak taco which was DELISH but then for the month they had a smashburger special???? which was literally like a smashburger slider??? it was honestly amazing. Chips and queso were also delish. Skip the fries they are just plain crinkle fries. A friend also ordered the plaintains for dessert and those were to die for. An amazing meal. read more

I came here on a Saturday evening and had the best time! The line was out the door but still moved pretty quick. They also let you order margaritas outside to go, so you can sip on a drink while you wait. We ordered the queso, tacos, salad, and cilantro rice - all so so good! The ambiance is really nice too, there is a big outdoor seating area which I loved the most! Definitely will be returning read more

Came to Little Rey for breakfast and really enjoyed it! The pancakes were fluffy and delicious, especially with the caramel sauce, and the tacos were fresh and flavorful (though a little on the pricey side). The salsa bar is a big plus, lots of great options to mix and match. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, which makes it an easy spot to hang out. And lots of parking!!!! I only tried the breakfast menu this time, but the lunch menu looked really good too--definitely planning to come back for that. read more

One of my favorite places! Especially on a nice day. They have a great outdoor seating area - good for bringing your dog. Their margaritas are delicious, as are the tacos! Especially the carne asada! The cheese dip and salsas are great. It's always busy, but everyone is always so nice! read more

Went here for lunch on a Friday afternoon and boy this place was packed! The restaurant is pretty big itself but I think it's because it was Black Friday that it was this busy. Little Rey is counter service and the line went pretty quickly. The lady who took my order was super nice and friendly, and gave genuine smiles. We were given a table marker and thankfully found some tables that accommodated our party. I got the queso and chips, and the half chicken. The order came out pretty quickly and was brought to our table. First off, the queso was fantastic. I'm pretty much a queso expert at this point because I order it anywhere that offers it. I'm glad I ordered a large instead the small because the small would have been gone so fast. The half chicken was great as well, it came with rice and beans as a side with tortillas to make your own taco Love this place, hope it expands and comes down to Orlando in the future! read more

Absolutely delicious. There is something about a casual spot where the menu and food is simple but just tastes fresh and delicious every time. I'd like to pour a gallon of the salsa verde down my throat, por favor. My husband and I split the half chicken meal, which was incredible. The meat was so easy to get off the bone, and it had excellent, smoky flavor. It came with really excellent cilantro lime rice, beans, and 3 fresh tortillas. The jalapeño was spicy and the onion delicious. We also split the superica salad, which tasted fresh and had lots of great toppings - could have used a little more chicken I think. You stand in line to order (I've never not seen a line here), and they bring the food to your table when it's ready. It's a little chaotic inside in a good way - lots of families with young kids. I'll have to return for the ice cream because it was bedtime for our baby and she wasn't going to wait this time. We'll be back! Oh and there's plenty of parking in the lot, so no need to worry about that. read more

Ordered a salad at 11:38 am. It was handed to me at 12:01 pm. Ummmm this simply won't work as a lunch spot. Also the Superica salad was super basic and came with ranch dressing. Is this 1986?? Who serves ranch dressing? read more

As huge fans of the location on Piedmont, we were thrilled that the service and food quality/speed of delivery was just as good as the original. However, the best thing about this location is the plentiful, easy parking... so this might become our new go-to location. On a Sunday it was pretty busy with big groups (including lots of children), so bear in mind if you prefer less noise. The breakfast tacos are available during lunchtime on Sundays, so it was nice that our group could order either breakfast or lunch depending on their mood. Same perfect queso and guacamole, and great hot sauce self-serve selection. Bravo! read more

Went on a Saturday for first time and of course we waited in line 20-30 minutes but food was excellent. Worth the wait. The green space outside was great for my granddaughter to romp after we ate and me and the Missus relaxed and watched. Went back on a Wednesday and the whole vibe and food was different even though I ordered the same thing. It just wasn't the same. Not as good. So it's a hit or miss place read more

We love Little Ray! This location is especially great because it's so kid friendly. The open outdoor area and little activities keep our kids busy and happy. The patio is spacious, and there's plenty of parking which makes it really convenient. The food is always amazing. The salsa bar is one of our favorites, and I highly recommend the Diabla Torta. It's delicious. You also can't go wrong with the chicken or steak tacos. We've even had their Chicken al Carbon catering, and it was a total hit with everyone. Overall, this spot has great food, great service, and a family friendly vibe that keeps us coming back! read more

The taco sizes are pretty small so I would definitely recommend getting three for a full meal. I got the steak al carbon, puerco al carbon, and carne asada. The steak al carbon was phenomenal! Extremely flavorful and juicy and I think one of the best tacos I've had! Unfortunately, I wish I could say the same for the other two. This restaurant seems to be known for their al carbon tacos so I would think they'd be the best thing on the menu, but the puerco al carbon was SO greasy it made me feel a little sick. The taco was DRIPPING with grease and every bite just felt like I was eating straight fat. I think it had a lot of potential but please drain the grease better! The carne asada was good, but it didn't stand out to me. It was just a basic carne asada taco. I love when restaurants have a salsa bar and this one did not disappoint! I don't even remember all the sauces that I got but they were all really good! They were super flavorful and all had a good kick to them! Definitely recommend the salsa that was cooking in the pot, I honestly think I could've drank that as a soup! I really liked the location of this place and the vibes of the inside. The decor was really pretty and I loved the plants hanging in the restaurant. The ceilings were really high so it just felt super spacious. The outside was also really vibrant and cute, there were lots of kids just running around and playing and it just had wholesome family vibes. If it wasn't so hot I would not be opposed to sitting outside. The servers were also all really nice. I would definitely recommend this place as a fun weekend evening dinner place to go with friends. Just don't get the puerco al carbon read more

I tried this place for the first time today and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Although there was a line out of the door when I arrived, Little Rey's had a bartender outside serving drinks that could be ordered while standing in line. I got the grapefruit margarita, and it was delicious and refreshing. The line moved quickly, and despite the crowd, it was easy to find a place to sit after ordering. The food was worth the wait! I highly recommend trying all of the salsa options that they provide, as well as the queso fries! I definitely will be back here. Great experience! read more

If you like unnecessarily long waits, cashiers that exacerbate the wait even further by slowly entering orders, mediocre food, and throngs of unruly children with little to no parental oversight than this is the place for you. Standing in line for 45 minutes for a substandard taco is not the best use of anyone's time - hard pass on this place. read more

Rice and chicken bowl was very good, lots of flavor. They have a salsa bar and you order at the counter and they bring the food to you.

I come here quite often, especially when some people are visiting because it's such a cute quaint little taco shop. I love how it's a pretty casual vibe, but the food quality is amazing. I am deducting one star because it seems like every time I go the prices are inflated by at least 5% Ordering for two people can cost up to $70 which I think is a little ridiculous for a casual restaurant. However, the vibes are really great. The location is great and the food is great. read more

This spot was recommended to me to try while in Buckhead. It was enjoyable! I loved the cute atmosphere and table markers were bands! I got the steak quesadilla and chips with queso. The steak was incredible juicy, tender, and flavorful! Although, the quesadilla was pretty small, so I would definitely get chips or a side if you only order that. The chips were crisply and salty goodness and the queso was delicious and creamy. The salsa bar was also a great touch and I'll be dreaming of the jalapeño ranch until I return! read more

I loved this place, chicken salad was good. Not super filling. The Aroz con polo was really good. The rice was soft, beans and chicken played of one another but could still taste them. Plus it was loaded with super greens so it felt well rounded. The steak quesadilla was insane, like wrap that little bad boy in a straight jacket. The tortilla was sooooo good, super cheesy and the steak was fantastic. Make sure you try the ice cream with Cinnamon Toast Crunch. I think the CTC is homemade, soooo good. read more

I stopped in for a to go order on a Friday evening. The line was long! I am not sure if it's because the spot is new, but expect to wait if you are dining here on a Friday night. However, I did learn that if you just want to place a to go order you can do that at the walk up window! I waited about 15-20 minutes in line prior to making it to the register to place an order. I opted for the chicken wings ( I read they were good), chips and salsa, and the Esqueleto salad. After placing the order it took about 15 minutes to be ready. The wings were just ok to me. Not the best smoked wings I have had. They are a little tough and not tender. I would not order them again. I was told the chips were made in house. They were tasty as was the salsa. The salad was amazing! Overall the service was great, I enjoyed the majority of my food. As such, I am sure I will be back to try more of the menu. read more

Quickly becoming my favorite Mexican restaurant in town. The line is almost always long, but I never seem to mind when eating in house. The food is definitely worth the wait and it's plentiful. The chicken Al carbon and the spicy shrimp tacos are what have me returning. The range of sauces offered really is over the top. Last and certainly not least, they seem to know how to hire a very upbeat team. For me, that can always make a wait easier. read more

The grilled chicken with the lime rice is my go to favorite. The service is always awesome and the vibe is friendly.

It was ok. Cute little spot in an office park. You can't see it from the main road. I went on a Thursday during lunch so there was a line but it moved pretty quickly. It's like a Chipotle or Willy's but you can get alcohol. You order at the register and the will bring your food. They charge for chips and salsa. The salsas are pretty good. I enjoyed the salsas more than anything else. I ordered the carne asada taco. It was filling. I don't think I could eat more than 1. I also tried the shrimp quesadilla. It was a different take on a quesadilla where you can eat it by holding it in your hand like a beef patty or empanada. It appears they deep fry the quesadilla. I'm still on the fence as to whether I liked it or not. Considering it's 6 minutes from my home and has a nice view of you outside, I'll probably be back. It's much better than some of these "fancy" taco spots like BarTaco. The service was very good. read more
