Went here for lunch on a Friday afternoon and boy this place was packed! The restaurant is pretty big itself but I think it's because it was Black Friday that it was this busy. Little Rey is counter service and the line went pretty quickly. The lady who took my order was super nice and friendly, and gave genuine smiles. We were given a table marker and thankfully found some tables that accommodated our party. I got the queso and chips, and the half chicken. The order came out pretty quickly and was brought to our table. First off, the queso was fantastic. I'm pretty much a queso expert at this point because I order it anywhere that offers it. I'm glad I ordered a large instead the small because the small would have been gone so fast. Absolutely delicious. There is something about a casual spot where the menu and food is simple but just tastes fresh and delicious every time. I'd like to pour a gallon of the salsa verde down my throat, por favor. My husband and I split the half chicken meal, which was incredible. The meat was so easy to get off the bone, and it had excellent, smoky flavor. It came with really excellent cilantro lime rice, beans, and 3 fresh tortillas. The jalapeño was spicy and the onion delicious. We also split the superica salad, which tasted fresh and had lots of great toppings - could have used a little more chicken I think. You stand in line to order (I've never not seen a line here), and they bring the food to your table when it's ready. It's a little chaotic inside in a good way - lots of families with young kids. I'll have to return for the ice cream because it was bedtime for our baby and she wasn't going to wait this time. We'll be back! As huge fans of the location on Piedmont, we were thrilled that the service and food quality/speed of delivery was just as good as the original. However, the best thing about this location is the plentiful, easy parking... so this might become our new go-to location. On a Sunday it was pretty busy with big groups (including lots of children), so bear in mind if you prefer less noise. The breakfast tacos are available during lunchtime on Sundays, so it was nice that our group could order either breakfast or lunch depending on their mood. The taco sizes are pretty small so I would definitely recommend getting three for a full meal. I got the steak al carbon, puerco al carbon, and carne asada. The steak al carbon was phenomenal! Extremely flavorful and juicy and I think one of the best tacos I've had! Unfortunately, I wish I could say the same for the other two. This restaurant seems to be known for their al carbon tacos so I would think they'd be the best thing on the menu, but the puerco al carbon was SO greasy it made me feel a little sick. The taco was DRIPPING with grease and every bite just felt like I was eating straight fat. I think it had a lot of potential but please drain the grease better! The carne asada was good, but it didn't stand out to me. It was just a basic carne asada taco. I love when restaurants have a salsa bar and this one did not disappoint! I don't even remember all the sauces that I got but they were all really good! They were super flavorful and all had a good kick to them! Definitely recommend the salsa that was cooking in the pot, I honestly think I could've drank that as a soup! I really liked the location of this place and the vibes of the inside. The decor was really pretty and I loved the plants hanging in the restaurant. The ceilings were really high so it just felt super spacious. The outside was also really vibrant and cute, there were lots of kids just running around and playing and it just had wholesome family vibes. I come here quite often, especially when some people are visiting because it's such a cute quaint little taco shop. I love how it's a pretty casual vibe, but the food quality is amazing. I am deducting one star because it seems like every time I go the prices are inflated by at least 5% Ordering for two people can cost up to $70 which I think is a little ridiculous for a casual restaurant. This spot was recommended to me to try while in Buckhead. It was enjoyable! I loved the cute atmosphere and table markers were bands! I got the steak quesadilla and chips with queso. The steak was incredible juicy, tender, and flavorful! Although, the quesadilla was pretty small, so I would definitely get chips or a side if you only order that. I loved this place, chicken salad was good. Not super filling. The Aroz con polo was really good. The rice was soft, beans and chicken played of one another but could still taste them. Plus it was loaded with super greens so it felt well rounded. The steak quesadilla was insane, like wrap that little bad boy in a straight jacket. I stopped in for a to go order on a Friday evening. The line was long! I am not sure if it's because the spot is new, but expect to wait if you are dining here on a Friday night. However, I did learn that if you just want to place a to go order you can do that at the walk up window! I waited about 15-20 minutes in line prior to making it to the register to place an order. I opted for the chicken wings ( I read they were good), chips and salsa, and the Esqueleto salad. After placing the order it took about 15 minutes to be ready. The wings were just ok to me. Not the best smoked wings I have had. They are a little tough and not tender. I would not order them again. I was told the chips were made in house. They were tasty as was the salsa. The salad was amazing! Overall the service was great, I enjoyed the majority of my food. As such, I am sure I will be back to try more of the menu. read more

The chicken Al carbon and the spicy shrimp tacos are what have me returning. The range of sauces offered really is over the top. It's like a Chipotle or Willy's but you can get alcohol. You order at the register and the will bring your food. They charge for chips and salsa. The salsas are pretty good. I enjoyed the salsas more than anything else. I ordered the carne asada taco. It was filling. I don't think I could eat more than 1. I also tried the shrimp quesadilla. It was a different take on a quesadilla where you can eat it by holding it in your hand like a beef patty or empanada. It appears they deep fry the quesadilla. I'm still on the fence as to whether I liked it or not. Considering it's 6 minutes from my home and has a nice view of you outside, I'll probably be back. This place is amazing from Chase at the register to Casey the GM. Line was out the door at 715 on a Sunday. Cassy came out and explained ticket times were running a little longer than they like so only running 1 register. Only took about 20 minutes to get to register, run by Chase told him it was our first time, he explained menu and gave some suggestions for next time. We ordered shrimp quesadilla, steak taco, pork belly taco, chips and queso. Food came out quickly and was awesome. Flavor great. Plenty of flavorful salsas available. Chase came by our table to make sure everything was good. Then Cassey came by and talked to us also. She has a great team working with her. Little Rey is one of our favorite Atlanta stops. We were really excited about how close to the battery this new location is so went prior to a game. For starters, this space hosts a completely different clientele than the original location. It is a wonderful spot to come with your kids and friends and has a large outdoor space for everyone to hang out. As a parent this place is a dream. My husband and I were on a date night and the only party in sight without a child. They also offer an outdoor bar to grab a drink while you're waiting which was a huge plus. The food was equally as good as the original. My only complaint was how slow the line moved. There is always a line at the original but it moves quickly. This line on the other hand simply didn't budge. I'm not sure if this was intentional, a fluke or them working out some kinks as a new space but it was really bad. We finally realized we could order to go at the window so went and did that and had we not done so we definitely would have had to leave without food. To put this into perspective - when we left 40 minutes later the spot we were at in line still had not ordered and we were hardly outside the door when we got out of line. So pro tip- order your food to go and then sit at a table with it when the line is long. read more

The parking is free and there is plenty of it! The way you order is sort of odd for the volume of this restaurant. You order first and then seat yourself. We've stood outside just to get inside, but the line moves at a steady pace. The food was just okay. I was upset to see their health score was a 83/B. We ordered a little bit of everything. Quesadillas, tacos, rice, beans, sweet potatoes, queso, and a salad. Everything was just under seasoned and just lukewarm. For drinks, they offer frozen margaritas, beer, and a couple small items. The chicken taco with smoked onions would've been good but the chicken was too charred. Of the tacos I had, the pork taco was the most likable. The gringo taco-ground beef, lettuce, pico, and jalepeno mayo (I believe), was the worst. The ground beef wasn't flavorful and there was way too much mayo, Willy's ground beef taco is better. The beans side was extremely bland, even with the crumbled bacon stuff on top. On top of the bland food, everything was like warm when it was finally served. The wait was long to order, they have a couple of doors that are catty corner to each other so it can get confusing which door to go in. Either way, you'll probably run smack dab into people in the long line. Last straw, there health score is currently an 83. Overall, I'll be back only to use the rest of the gift card which brought me here in the 1st place. Maybe I'll use on the frozen margs. read more

I have always enjoyed Little Rey! This location is pretty new and always hits the spot. The superica salad is so good and fresh with their chicken al carbon. They also have great indoor and outdoor seating depending on what your mood is for the day. The staff here is always friendly to your requests and the food usually comes out pretty fast. The only thing to be aware of is that outside there is a children play area and children often will be running around, but overall should not be too much of an issue. read more

Do they have tasty tacos? Yes. But the price and experience don't really make up for it. Setting: the dismay starts at the door, or rather the long wait to get through it. What I'd thought was the most excruciating wait ever to reach a hostess stand was actually people standing in line to order from 2 kiosks. I don't relish the idea of standing outside waiting to order, but if they wanted to operate this way, they should've set this up for an indoor traffic flow. There is no sign mind you that lets you know that you're in for this; that you have to come in the door knowing what you want and be ready to order, or that u needed to have grabbed a drink on ur trip to the ordering kiosks if you wanted to have one with your meal. Not awesome. It is a large space inside and out so when you're finally lucky enough to make it through the line u should be able to find a seat. Be mindful the mat if you sit outside there's unsupervised children running wild. Menu: mostly centering around tacos, which are sold individually at $5.50+, so if you're hungry you're in for a pretty high per person meal cost; no plates or other bundled items. No taco is worth this much IMO. The side options are pretty limited and similarly offer little value. For beverages they serve alcohol - limited canned & draft beer and frozen (only) margaritas - bottled Mexican Coke & sprite, canned Diet Coke, topo Chico water, barrilitos and fountain drinks. But god forbid u need a refill ... there's no one to bring you another! IMO, there's plenty of taco joints in the area that offer better experience & value. read more
