Got lunch here on a weekday. This was the closest location to me and I was happy to find free street parking even though I did find out there is a private parking lot in the back. There are more seat seats outside than inside, so I'm not sure how they will be preparing for the cold weather. Really enjoyed their complementary homemade salsa and chips. Got their Pork burrito and enchiladas. I was surprised that the burrito had rice and beans on the side, but it makes sense since it was inside. The beans and rice were good, but I did find the pork to be very dry. Overall, we had a good time. The staff was friendly and efficient, they were more than happy to continue to refill our chips and salsa. Would need to try other dishes from their menu to see if I like it more than the pork burrito. read more

La Fonda was a delicious and cute spot for us to eat. We came on a weekday after work and were able to get a seat immediately outside. The Paella was delicious and the chips and salsa kept coming. Came here because I was craving enchiladas- I wanted shrimp but that's not on the menu and they said I can't do a substitution. Started with queso which was meh- kind of grainy, not the best texture. Tried the salmon enchilada and was SUPER underwhelmed! Not much flavor, cheese wasn't melted on top. Wtf kind of "Mexican" food is this!? I should have stuck with my usual go-to Nuevo Laredo. Okay. So we had a taste for Mexican & it was a bit late & we seen this spot & decided to give it a go. I had two beef tacos with beans & rice. The little one had the kids meal with one beef taco, beans & rice. He had the same with no shell & the ribeye with the grilled veggies . Let me say, the meat didn't have much flavor. But it was okay. The rice & beans wasn't good at all. My 5yr old didn't even like it. & kids love rice & beans... it's always a go to for kiddos. I just ate the tacos. The tea was REALLY GOOD. Price was cool. We ordered takeout during the Covid era. On the positive side, the service is okay. The food, however, is entirely mediocre. I guess they want to be a Mexican restaurant, but it's not entirely clear from the flavors. The chicken enchiladas are filled with chopped-up mystery meat. The rice, guacamole, salmon, and salsa are prepared in an Americanized way and entirely bland. The black beans and the cheese dip are decent. There are so many other good Mexican places in Atlanta. La Fonda's location and parking are convenient - I guess that helps their business. read more

Decided to stop by La Fonda on Peachtree Road because it looked so interesting from the outside!! Parked on Rumson Road and walked inside just to get a menu, but ended up ordering "takeaway". They prepare everything when you order and I enjoyed the wait - it was just like I was in a small eating place in Puerto Rico or Cuba. I watched them prepare several takeaway orders along with mine and there were several dine-in patrons that got tall, frosty margaritas before their food was served. The menu is loaded and there's a lot to choose from. Chose their Reuben Cuban - what a sandwich loaded with those wonderful pickles - black beans, tortilla chips and salsa on the side - just a wonderful Latin meal. Next time, the order is going to be their authentic Cuban Sandwich. The only draw back is the parking, but it is well worth the very short walk. read more

This is my favorite casual Mexican in Garden Hills! Their sangritas, and cheese dip with jalapeños are amazing. We love the staff here as well. They are always very friendly! This is a go to spot for dinner and the best place to drink on a patio when it gets warm outside. read more

The food is ok. The La Fonda on Ponce blows this place out of the water. The food and service at that location is on a complete different level. I do not like leaving reviews that can be viewed as a negative but the food at this location was not good, the salsa was chunky and lacked flavor, and the service was not good. My order was not taken properly, the food i order was not given to me because the waiter completely forgot to bring me the food i ordered. I was the only person sitting in the restaurant at the time so being busy or overwhelmed was not an excuse. I enjoy La Fonda but will no longer visit this location. I will continue to Drive to the Ponce De Leon location as the food is so much better there even though that location is much further from me. read more

, I went to this restaurant to get an order to go because the food is good , but the bad rating is for the poor customer service I received on 1/9/2019 7pm by Cindy . I asked for a piece of some lemons & limes and the lady put her hand in the jar or container to get them out with no gloves or thongs. So I asked her you dont use gloves or thongs ,and she said if you don't want them you don't have to take them. So this is the attitude she has and responds when someone ask her why she didn't use gloves or thongs while I'm watching her touch everything around her. That's ok because I will be contacting the Health Dept again for another nasty ,unsanitary restaurant in Atlanta. Now I see why these restaurants don't last here in Atlanta. read more

The 1 Star is for service and sanitation. We actually didn't even end up eating there. The quick version: the staff were visibly intoxicated, the restaurant was not clean, and the staff seemed to try to make the environment so unpleasant that we would leave so they didn't have to work. They succeeded. We went in around 9:20 on a Sunday on a three day weekend (they close at 11pm), and there were no other customers; there were two staff standing in the back filming each other in front of the bathroom and no one greeted us--it was a bit strange, but whatever. There were spilled chips on the floor in several places that we had to step over and no one made moves to sweep up the whole time we were there. We also were a group of 4 and all the tables were just for two and the server asked us "for here or to go." At this point we realized he was very drunk, slurring his words, and struggling to focus his eyes. We wanted to stay for margaritas so we went to the back and pulled some tables together ourselves, with a guy coming I thought to help us, but actually just trying to walk past us to the bathroom (we did make sure there was plenty of room to pass as we pulled the tables together, but he still walked through us, smiling but saying nothing, as we were about to pick up the table). Finally, as we started looking at the menu, they turned on music so loudly it made us all jump, and even shouting--we could not hear ourselves over it. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, we smiled and gestured it was too loud to turn it down, but one of the three men working smiled, pinched his fingers as if to suggest "just a little," then turned and walked away without turning it down at all. We talked later hypothesizing different possible reasonable explanations, but it seemed clear that they didn't want to work or have us there and were trying to get us to leave. They succeeded. Great Cuban/Mexican fusion restaurant! I got the mango and pork salad which was tasty and had a yummy salad dressing. Guacamole for appetizer was also good. Free chips and salsa included with dinner which is always nice. This is a great casual restaurant and prices are reasonable. We got half pitched of mojito for 11.75 which has about 3 drinks worth in half pitcher. Patio seating was also nice for a dinner outside. Service was a little slow and mojito/margaritas were a little more syrupy than I would like- couldn't taste that much alcohol. Overall 4/5 read more

I went to this restaurant for the first time ever with 3 additional friends. I called ahead to verify if this location had patio seating as the pictures on when you google this location do not show that they do. My friends and I arrived, sat at the lower deck patio, ordered drinks and food. My server constantly forgot my drink order but I would make a joke about it, we tried to move to the patio above us three times because roaches were crawling on the patio but we understood we were outside so we didn't complain to much. We were told it's tighter seating so we stayed where we were. Our server constantly checked on us and everything was fine. Once we asked for the checks the server comes back with each individual check and says "My coworker said you guys were here last week and skipped out on your check". I asked to speak to the manager and the coworker. The server brings the coworker then when we ask to also speak to the manager he states he is the manager. The coworker says "I can't explain but you were here past time and didn't pay me" we asked for dates, times, where we sat, then proceeded to let her know two of the four individuals were not in the state and never ate at this Peachtree location and would NEVER do that, the other two have never been to the establishment ever and would NEVER do that. I continued to let them know I called ahead asking about seating arrangements and showed proof of my telephone call. Stated why would we sit at this establishment for over 3 hours and ask for our checks if we dined and dashed the week prior. The coworker said "well they looked like you and I wasn't paid". I've never been profiled and am absolutely disgusted. This ruined my experience with this restaurant and am highly upset. read more
