As a Priority Club Gold Elite member I am entitled to complimentary breakfast at any IHG hotels. When I arrived here in the morning for my complimentary buffet breakfast I was pleasantly greeted and offered several tables of choice, but, I selected the smaller table for 2, since I was here alone on business. The Veranda Café at the Crowne Plaza National Airport Hotel was great for my complimentary buffet breakfast. They offered fresh scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, a variety of cereal, yogurt and even a nice variety of fresh fruit. I left with a banana in hand. I could have ordered from the menu, but, I was quite satisfied with the buffet service.

I visited with 4 friends, and we had a private booth. The food kept coming...and coming...and coming! I was genuinely surprised how fast the turn-around between ordering a dish and it arrived at our table. We visited on a Sunday so they had $1 mimosas. Yes-please-thank you! All the dishes were good-to-great. I don't recall a single one of us complaining about anything we tried. And if you don't like something - order something else!

I ordered the pork and chive dumplings and they were perfectly cooked with that crispy bottom and soft chewy top, just how they should be. The filling was super flavorful and juicy and the dipping sauce they give you on the side is the perfect balance of savory and tangy. My friend got the soup dumplings and she said they were some of the best she has had outside of NYC, like bursting with hot broth when you bite into them and the pork inside was so tender. We also shared the scallion pancakes and oh my god they were so flaky and crispy and came with this delicious dipping sauce that I could have eaten with a spoon lol. Everything just tasted so fresh and made to order, you can tell they really care about the quality of the food. The staff was really friendly too. Our server checked on us multiple times and answered all our questions about the menu since it was our first time. She recommended a few things we would not have tried otherwise and we were so glad she did. The whole place has this casual cozy vibe with cute decor and they were playing some nice background music that fit the atmosphere. Now for the not so great parts and why its four stars instead of five. The wait time is honestly brutal. We got there around 7 on a Saturday night and waited like forty five minutes for a table. The place is pretty small so they can only seat so many people and there is not a lot of room to wait inside so we were kind of crowded by the door. They dont take reservations either which is frustrating. The other thing is that the portions are a little small for the price. The dumplings are not cheap and you only get like six in an order which is not a ton if you are really hungry. We ordered three things between two people and still left a little hungry, we should have gotten more but the prices add up quick. Also the seating is tight, like you are really close to the people next to you so not the best spot for a private conversation. And the parking in Clarendon is always a pain, we circled around for a while before finding a spot a few blocks away. Overall the food is fantastic and I will definitely be back because those dumplings are calling my name lol. Just come with patience and maybe go during off hours if you can. Four stars and I will be dreaming about those soup dumplings until my next visit.

Good thing we arrived early enough to beat the crowd and get dibs on the food that alone would be worth $20 if eating by itself in a typical Chinese resto - examples include the seafood (which my wife says was surprisingly fresh compared to all other buffets we've had in the past), ribs, roast duck, pho (yes...PHO!) - to name a few. The place itself is quite spacious, modern looking, and clean. Tables were NOT crammed together like some other buffets might be. Restrooms were big and clean. Speaking of cleanliness - plates were clean AND DRY (unlike every other buffet I've been to where the dishwasher seems to be so overwhelmed that plates come out wet...yuck) Staff is amazing! Friendly, took their time, efficient at removing dirty plates, and gentle...not sure what I mean by that, but I feel like it made my dining experience that much better. Food-wise, I'd say was slightly a step above in terms of the non-seafood items. My wife says the seafood was top notch. I really enjoyed the ribs, chicken stick, and beef broccoli - although everything else was quite tasty. My 7 y/o enjoyed the pizza, fries, and chicken nuggets. The taro bun was nice and soft - a definite departure from the stale, hard-on-the-outside buns I was accustomed to at other buffets. Most surprisingly was that they had pho!...which I've never ever seen before at a Chinese buffet. I didn't have a chance to try it, but will certainly do so next time. Parking-wise - there seems to be dedicated parking at the resto level (at least I didn't see any other businesses at that lower level) which can be accessed by driving straight towards the buffet and NOT going to the upper level where the Burlington strip mall is. If lower level parking is full, there would certainly be more parking in upper level....then simply take the stairs down to buffet. I'm excited to go back....and excited for YOU to try it! Definitely one of the best....if not THE BEST Chinese buffet I've ever been to. And having experienced the Chinese buffets in Southern California, that's saying a lot! NOTE: Don't compare a buffet to a traditional Chinese restaurant. In a buffet....it's more about getting your fill. Here, I think you'll find that you not only get your fill, but you'll be satisfied. OH! And my stomach was not upset at all afterwards (apart from being soooo full lol). Bon appetit!

The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The restaurant itself is clean and well maintained, which immediately sets a great impression. The variety here is incredible -- everything from Chinese favorites and dim sum to sushi, a raw bar, hibachi grill, made-to-order noodle stations, and an impressive dessert selection. There are honestly too many delicious options to list. Some of my personal favorites include the carved brisket roast and the perfectly steamed halibut. I also loved the made-to-order noodle bar, where I customized a pho bowl topped with beef, wontons, and roasted duck. It was rich, comforting, and full of flavor. With so many high-quality options, you truly get both variety and great taste here. This is one buffet that definitely exceeds expectations.

From the moment I walked in, I felt a warm and welcoming atmosphere that reminded me of home-style dining. The staff were polite, friendly, and very attentive, making sure everything was perfect throughout my visit. The rice was fresh and perfectly cooked, the curries were well-balanced with spices, and the fish and meat dishes were tender and delicious. The bhorta, dal, and vegetable items tasted just like homemade food, which is hard to find in many restaurants. The aroma and presentation of the food made the experience even better. What I loved most was the authenticity. You can truly feel that the chefs understand Bengali cuisine and prepare each dish with care. I ended up speaking to the lovely manager, Jane, who told me a bit about the restaurant. She shared that everything is made fresh every morning from high quality ingredients. Nothing is served from the day before. She said even the meats are all fresh from a butcher and nothing comes frozen or prepared. I can certainly tell that by the textures and flavors of the food. It can be a little hard to find but is a great lunch spot if you like variety in options or are like me and like having a little of everything at every meal rather than one main meal! This place is definitely worth a try. Everyone has always been so kind and helpful and it's a clean environment. Great place for a quick breakfast or lunch spot! They have a great drink selection and I really enjoy the make your own salad options! Specifically the tomato, cucumber & avocado salad! I came back my second time just for that salad! It has a lovely light vinaigrette and I love that the produce is ripe every time. The noodles are packed with flavor and the sauces on the meats are also very good. At other times, Takohachi will validate your parking. We were the only customers. We liked that the front side of the restaurant is all windows, so with sunshine streaming in, the restaurant had a warm and cheery feel. We were a little overwhelmed when were given like four different menus. We started out with the pork belly appetizer, which was probably our best dish of the afternoon. We also ordered the spider roll. Takohachi's spider roll comes with soft-shell crab, avocado, crab and fish roe. It was pretty good though the roll slices seemed fragile and started to fall apart. We ordered some kind of tonkatsu "bento box". It came with an excellent chicken katsu (loved the crunchy breading), udon, rice and a simple salad. This entrée also came with these interesting rice "balls" that were rice with a toasted slightly sweet exterior. I also ordered a toasted rice ball. It's what you think a toasted rice ball would be, white rice in ball that's been toasted. No additional ingredients or flavorings. JP ordered a grilled whole sardine, which he liked. Service was friendly and attentive. We'll be back.
