Me and my wife wanted to try something different this weekend so we opted for lunch at True Food Kitchen in Ballston. I like the lunch we got, we tried the cauliflower my wife got a shrimp dish and I got a burger. Honestly, the food is on the healthier side and it's also extremely delicious. I'd definitely recommend this place for a nice healthy nourishing meal! The service was great and ambiance too.

I came here for brunch with a friend. We were able to get a reservation just a couple days in advance. There is ample seating. I had a delicious quinoa and sweet potato bowl with chicken on top. The service was good, and we had a nice time. I thought the food was fresh and yummy. They have a large menu with a lot of options.

I came here on a Sunday for lunch with a friend. It's a large restaurant with a lot of open space. There weren't many people there so we were seated immediately. Our server was really helpful and checked on us regularly. For food, I had lasagna and it was just fine. For healthier food, I'm assuming the food probably has to have less flavor. The food was good but I just wish it was tastier. I would go again but probably not my first choice.

We were waiting on a family member who was having surgery at VHC, November 2025. We ordered for lunch, for delivery, from True Food Kitchen. The food was exceptional. I have to eat no bovine & no porcine, in any form. My sister has to eat GF. We called to verify a few items on the menu. They made sure of everything for us. No issues. Again the food was exceptional, very delicious, esp for ordering online and having it Ubered to the hospital. Hopefully we will get the chance to visit the actual brick & mortar restaurant one day.

3.5 A true delight for vegetarian and vegan options. The food was good, especially if you're looking for vegan and vegetarian options. We both ordered the ancient grain bowls, which we enjoyed. However, there was a slight mix-up with our desserts -- both came out with caramel, including one vegan dish but overall, it didn't overshadow the good food and the enjoyable atmosphere. The service was friendly and quick, making for a seamless dining experience. The ambiance is great for a casual get-together with friends, as the space is light and bright, creating a welcoming atmosphere. I think the prices are in general a little high for a quinoa bowl, but on par with the surrounding Ballston Quarter.

The food was delicious! They took all of my food intolerants seriously. The server went back to check on all my food questions and concerns multiple times. I was able to eat so many food options here that I can not eat anywhere else. If you have food sensitivity you need to check this place out!

Perfect midday visit to True Food Kitchen this week! Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. My friend and I got a quiet indoor table, and even though my friend was very late to lunch, everyone at True Food was welcoming for the two hours I was there. The food was delicious, and the leftovers I took home were still excellent the next morning.

What a wonderful, fresh place to dine! After spending 5 days in DC/Arlington, eating at some fine, heavier restaurants, I was craving something lighter, fresher and green! True Food Kitchen was the place to go, to remind me how I usually eat back in the PNW. The Thai Shrimp Lettuce Bowls were the perfect starter! The wild-caught shrimp was fresh and snappy, the butter lettuce, cucumber, watermelon radish, asian herbs were crisp and flavorful, and the lemongrass almond sauce was delicious. Along with the shrimp bowls we got the Chinese Chicken Salad and Air Fried Chicken Tender Plate with Sweet Potato Chips. All excellent choices!! The salad was fresh, delicious and large portion! The chicken tenders were perfect, and the chips crunchy and tasty. Everything we ordered made my stomach feel so healthy; just good old fresh, healthy eating! We even ended the meal with the flourless chocolate cake. So, sooooo good. The waitress was sweet, helpful and friendly. And, the restaurant itself had a PNW vibe to it! I felt very much at home with the decor and misty/rainy weather to boot! Pricing was as expected for a restaurant and in the area. We will certainly return when we find ourselves back in Arlington.

I ordered in due to long week at work. Well worth it.Yummy through and through. Beef was juicy, not dry. Tuna was so fresh and included lettuce and quinoa mix. Soup was perfectly seasoned. I would recommend this place to anyone. So delicious made me wanna go back for seconds.

Very good! Love this place. It's a bit expensive for lunch but I like it a lot. And so many gf options!

My wife went to the Reston, VA location not too long ago, and since then it's been in our list for us to go to one so that I could enjoy too! Our closest one today was the one in Arlington, VA. Be ready to hunt for parking, it's not too easy in this area. We were seated immediately after walking in. The space is beautiful and ample. We got started with some refreshers (I got the Bright Eyes and she got the Kale Aid). We tried a seasonal market salad to share, and I loved it. Just enough dressing covered every bit, and it was a great balance of flavors and textures. My entrée ended up being the Chicken Parmesan and wow... that was amazing, from the chicken to the spaghetti squash. Server was great, giving us as much time as we needed to make our choices and regularly checking in on us throughout the meal. All in all, this was an amazing Sunday dinner, and the intention behind the way they source ingredients and prepare their foods is definitely noticed in every bite. Excited to add this to our rotation.

I loved everything about this place. The food was delicious, the ambiance was so relaxing and clean, and the service was top tier the waitress and manager checked in on us to make sure we were having a great time and we definitely did. We brought our toddlers and they had mini magnetic doodling boards for them to play with

Good spot for healthy food options in Ballston. We had the brussel sprouts as an app, and the turkey burger and ancient grains bowl with chicken for dinner. All very solid! Their brunch is really good as well.

They offer an all-you-can-eat dinner menu (plus brunch), and every single thing we tried was delicious. We were a party of two and definitely overstuffed ourselves trying as much as we could Honestly, I think 3-4 people would be the perfect group size so you can share everything and sample more dishes comfortably. The food came out quickly, tapas-style, which made the whole experience even better. Great price for the amount and quality of food, excellent service, and such a fun ambiance. The decor was also super cute. I really liked that they had a large disability ramp as well.

When we walked in, we thought it was gonna be packed because there were no reservations on OpenTable however they were able to see us right away. A very nice touch to add a stem of Rose for the women. I would say that I gave it a lower star rating not because the food was bad. It was actually delicious, but probably the experience itself. The restaurant felt chaotic, and even though all the tables were not completely packed of course there were flowers everywhere people gathering with grandmother's mother's children, etc We were seated in a two people table and all the top past dishes started to pile up very quickly. Instead of monitoring, the progress of the finished dishes and removing those dishes due to space constraint, the dishes came from the kitchen, almost on top of one another, and at one point I had to hold a dish in my hand in order to make space to put a dish on top of another flatbread pan/dish, making things super chaotic. Also dishes had to be put on top of the menu because in order to order additional food, you need to leave at least one copy of the menu at the table. Overall, again the flavors and taste were good, though I might have had similar dishes from other places, and my partner commented that some of it is actually very close to the Capital One landing at DCA. I would just say that it was more due to the chaos and just the way that all the dishes piled up on top of us we felt like we were we had to eat super quickly so that we could stack dishes ourselves and create room at the table. Also, when serving the dishes were not kept level and basically was slide to the side of the dish, making presentation off

When we made the reservation in advance, we called to ask if happy hour was everywhere or just at the bar; they said everywhere, so we booked a table. Plot twist, it's only at the bar / downstairs :))) We arrived 15 minutes early, so while they got our table ready, we ordered at the bar. 5 stars for the bartender. If I could review her, the host, and the happy hour prices in isolation, I would! They moved us upstairs, we sat down, and immediately saw the menus were different. We asked the gentleman bringing waters about happy hour and he sent the waiter over. The waiter, with about 2% helpfulness, shared that happy hour is only downstairs. I mentioned that we had called in advance to ask. We asked if it would be possible to have that menu or perhaps move. The conversation felt like pulling teeth. He said, with much dismissiveness, it was up to the host downstairs to move and if they had availability and left. (Fair, we move, he doesn't get his tip. An alternative? Give us the happy hour menu, still get your tip. Better yet, just be slightly helpful?) The host downstairs found us a table but shared it was booked at 6:15 so we needed to be in and out. It was no problem because we had arrived before 5 (early, remember?). Although, it took 15 minutes (I timed it!) for anyone to come bring waters or address us as their table. A little hard to operate with urgency when no one takes your order!! I got up, told the host stand, and they sent a server over, and he proceeded to come back all of three times. We also had to flag him down to get our check, while we sat with empty waters that were never once refilled. We had pizza, cod sliders, and half orders of aglio e olio pasta. The cod sliders were more breadding than fish, but the flavor was decent. The pasta was delicious. No five star Italian meal, but it hit the spot and the portion was plentiful. I didn't try the pizza but it was 12 inches, piping hot, and the two eating it couldn't finish it. The food came out quickly and hot. I think we spent under or just about $100 for four folks to have dinner + drinks, so the prices are really solid. Perhaps you get what you pay for though? Both of our male servers seemed annoyed to be dealing with us and mostly unhelpful. Noteworthy mention: there was a female server who was kind enough to bring us a brown paper bag for our to go box. She was running around and her tables seemed well cared for. Disappointed in my experience and the customer service.
