I went in for a manicure and pedicure. and the service only took 1 hour. the staff was kind and most of them spoke perfect English. it was vary clean and organized. it was not loud but not quiet. and they had a show on low volume the It felt like hanging out with your friends with when you talked to them. This place is horrible. They poured soap into pedicure basin and spilled it on my pants. We then begun to smell bleach from the water. I then looked at my leg and saw the huge bleach stain on my pants. When i told them about it he then accused me of coming in here like that. Things like oil, scrub, oil for your cuticles, I mean even a scent lotion not from a big cheap bottle hidden under the cart. Let me tell you about this cart... they have bin with water and nasty foot scrubbers, like a bathroom scrubbing thing you would use on your body. Yea! Mixed with other things used on the customer next to me! They used the same one on me! Not cleaning it. They use that to clean the foot tub. No cleaning spray. The metal tools to cut and clean were siting side by side in a tray, let me mention the customer next to and my tools touched! I asked them about this and I got an eye roll. I watched two customers get up and not once were the stations were their nails were being done wiped down. I should have left right ? No, I had to see more.... None of the cutters were sanitized. There's water leaking from under the pedicure chair into the floor. Be careful when you get up! This place is pure filth and would never pass a health inspection. One of the employees gets up leaves the used cuticle cutters on the table next time to take a call and came back and just put the rag in the bin. She did zero cuticle work and I asked for them to be cut down and she did not file after cutting, so edges of toenails are jagged. No pumice or scrub was used, she only lotioned and massaged my legs and feet. The bottoms of my feet are still dry looking. Since my cuticles weren't pushed down, there's a lip of polish at the base of my nails and there was something left under the polish of my big toe so there's a bump now. Do not get waxed here. I went in yesterday to get my eyebrows waxed for hoco tomorrow and now my eyebrows are as thin as a line. He waxed off the tops of both my eyebrows and took way to much off from the middles I no longer have my shape either and my experience was overall just horrible. Updated review, 4+ years later. I decided to give Venus another shot. Another mistake. I went with a friend and when we walked in the door I instantly regretted it. The chemical smell is violent. Remembering the horrible headache I got the last time, I decided I could not stay, but my friend needed to get a nail repair so she proceeded to wait for a tech. They told her it would be five minutes Until someone could take her. I decided to check out the shops in the little strip. I happened to mention to one of the shop owners that I was waiting for a friend at the nail salon but that I could not stay there because of the smell and she said that the odor from the mail salon could sometimes be smelled in her store. Back to my friend - 20 min and she's still waiting. Finally she comes out and says she can't wait any longer. The smell is just too much. She (my friend) had to wash her clothes because they stunk so much. One last thing....there was a little tiny dog there..precious baby. I found out it was the owner's dog who is there all the time. When I went in for chin wax given by the shop owner she proceeded to talked me in to getting my cheeks done. She said they were hairy as well. I assumed she would be waxing the side of my cheeks near sideburns. Instead she waxed under my eyes on cheekbones. The wax was too hot and my face was significantly burned. The burns healed in about a week but after 2 weeks I continued to experience pain underneath my right eye and cheekbone. Today I walked in for a gel manicure and was rushed in and out in 20 minutes. At first it seemed like a great experience and then quickly turned into a factory experience. The manicure was $45 which is a complete rip off, and they only took cash, no venmo or other way to pay. I also believe that the color used was not the color I chose but it was too late to tell her once I gave it a chance to go under the light. I hate when you go somewhere new and get sped through the process. Unreal for $45. Seriously disappointed because I would have returned multiple times this summer if the price was worth it. I worked as a nail tech before so I know the steps to do nails and I am sure they do know standard procedures but they just overbook and rush their clients. Lady who did my nails seemed to be juggling 3 clients at once. Was getting dip removed and wanted a basic manicure but she did my "manicure" before removing dip. If you have done dip before you know that it makes your nails super messy when removing. For the manicure all she did was run the drill over my cuticles and use the cuticle clippers for less than 2 minutes across all 10 nails. For removing dip it was 20 dollars and for the "manicure" which was done before removing the dip was 22 dollars. Standard dip/acrylic removal is 10 dollars but they jack up their prices for mediocre skill and service. I saw the reviews before going but I thought it would be okay since I am going for a service that requires little skill. Clearly, I was wrong. This is honestly probably the worst place I have ever been to. Also they only accept cash. Wish I could give them 0 stars and I have never wanted to give a business a 0 but they seriously need to reevaluate their business. read more

My sister and I went to Venus Nails today to get our nails done before vacation. We were very happy with our experience! The prices were reasonable ($35 for gel mani, $50 for long, gel acrylics). We made an appointment for 10am, right when they open, and we were seen right away. Our technician did bounce between the two of us, but neither of us felt neglected or bored. Worst experience ever. If you want a sanitary salon this is NOT the place. They do not sterilize any of their implements nor sanitize the pedicure bowls. Every station is covered in nail dust and they don't wipe any surfaces down between customers. They speak their language to each other the entire time they are working on you. The pedicure lady thinks its ok to call you "Honey" the entire time as well as leave your service to do other services and to burn your feet with hot water not once but 3 times. I am a hairdresser and know the state board regulations for this business and they do not adhere to any of the even simplest of sanitary standards. I mentioned to the owner Nicole my dismay about watching 8-10 pedicures go on without sanitizing the bowls or the callous grater or any of the implements between guests and she barked back at me saying "Yes we do between every client". They reuse the toe seperators, using them on you then tossing them back in the bin to use on the next victim. Sadly this is bad practice I witness at way too many salons these days. With Covid and so many other diseases you can get from sharing unsanitary things this place is the worst at combating any of them. High prices, rushed services and zero customer service is why this salon is really ZERO stars.. I am posting again so that this review is read by anyone wanting to try a new salon. I have been a loyal customer of Venus Nails Fenwick Island for at least 20 years and am a full time resident. I have always tipped well at least 20 % and sometime even more. I have always recommended others to find there and given rave reviews but today was my last day there. They do not honor their appt tinea and will take walk ins while you sit in a pedicure chair for 45 minutes with no one even acknowledge you even though I watched my regular girl take at least 3 people to do their nails. When I finally spoke up my technician did not speak to me when she finally got around to doing my nails. When I finally was done over 2 hours later owner told me if I could not plan on a 2 hour appointment basically I could go somewhere else because she didn't like any negativity in salon. So much for speaking up. I am sad to leave but like I told the owner there are plenty of other salons in this area. Absolutely the worst nail salon I've ever been to and the worst manicure. So many things to comment on, I'll just make a list. Polish looks like it's been on the shelf for years. Whole place is visibly dirty. Technicians jump around from client to client some working on 3 people at a time (meaning you are there 3 times as long as you should be). Man using the buffing tool was pushing so hard on it to file off the old polish, my nail bed was burning from the friction. He continued to do it even after I complained. Older woman who did the polish got polish all over my cuticles and along the side of my nail - I could have done it better myself. By the end of the day, my polish was all bubbled up (regular polish) - I think it's probably because it was so old. Finally, the price...I had a dip powder manicure soaked off and then a regular manicure. I knew I would have to pay to soak off the old polish, but silly me didn't ask first. They charged $20 just to remove the old polish - I've never paid more than $10 anywhere. I'm sure there is more, but you probably get the point by now...spend your time and money elsewhere! read more
