Stay away!! I would give zero stars if I could! We made an…read moreappointment online for a 4-wheel alignment and traveled over 30 minutes, arriving over 10 minutes early. Firstly, nothing gives you any indication where Genesis is. After confirming the address matched, we went inside. Evidently they share space with Kelleys, having a small desk inside with the name Genesis on a small banner in front of the desk. After finding the desk, they tell me right off the bat that they don't do alignments. What? So we pull up our Groupon to show them, and ask why it allowed us to schedule it online as an alignment if they don't do them. Well, now she says, "Oh, a Groupon. Well, we have a big job we are in the middle of, and we only have one lift. We probably won't be done until next Tuesday, but come back Friday to see." How is it you just told me you don't even do alignments, but once I show you evidence that you are selling alignments, all of a sudden you do, but can't because your ONLY lift is in use for a "big job?" Customers inside were arguing with technicians about messing up their vehicles, and a customer out front said, "Man, this place is crazy. They don't know what they're doing!" Needless to say, we got a refund on Groupon and are taking our vehicle to A & S Auto Clinic in Gaithersburg. We were trying to not drive that far, but having used them a few times and being treated with respect, honesty, and our vehicle being repaired properly, we will make the drive.

I had SO many complications with the initial installation they made, and not only did they refuse to take responsibility, but their mistake caused me to be fined. The issues pursued on and off for MONTHS before I finally took my car to a more reputable mechanic. He said it was a "very crappy installment" and removed and replaced all the parts H&H worked on. I have had zero issues since. I also now go to Caton Auto in Laurel for recalibrations, which are MUCH cheaper there and the staff is incredibly helpful. This shop is closest to me, but I drive all the way to College Park now because I can actually trust the service there. Fortunately, I will never have to go to this shop again.

Would not recommend. Took our car in for Maryland Safety Inspection and it failed because the…read moreparking brake did not hold the car. Was informed it needed new rear brake rotors for it to work, so we authorized $576 in work - $209 in parts for two new rotors and $354 in labor to replace rotors and adjust the parking brake cables. They informed us after that this did not fix the issue and that they adjusted the cables as much as they could. They said it would be an additional $876 to replace both cables - $176 for parts and $700 for labor. I asked what cables they are using and they confirmed they were the Febi Bilstein cables which you can buy a set of for $27.38 online. 530% parts markup. I asked them about this and they said they could drop the parts price to $140, which is still a 400% parts markup! The situation felt fishy so we did not authorize the work and picked up the car. I Googled how to adjust the parking brake on the car, clicked the first link, and followed the instructions. Cost me $0 in parts and was extremely easy and now the parking brake held. Took the car back to the shop for re-inspection and it passed. Either they are incompetent and do not know how to adjust a parking brake cable, even though I was able to do it myself quickly by following the first result on Google, or they are trying to make a quick buck, which seems very possible considering the 530% parts markup on the cable. At the end of the day they made $576 off of us (plus $110 for the inspection) replacing rear rotors that likely didn't need to be replaced to fix the issue anyways. Very glad we didn't authorize $876 in a "fix" that was not needed. At least they were very friendly... can't say I will be bringing any of our cars back here.

As soon as my car's warranty expired (no, I did not answer the 2,500 messages in my phone and mail…read moreabout "we want to talk to you about an extended warranty"! haha).. I needed to find a spot that was closeby and DID NOT CHARGE MUCH FOR EXCELLENT WORK. The dealership told me that they would "gladly" do X,Y and Z but that "it would have to come at a larger price now". So, I told them to hold that thought and I would let them know. Well, I did let them know I found a place I decided to stick with, Rising Sun Motors. There was a time period where I LEGIT had to fix like 3 things in a row. Would have cost me well over 1,800 (close to 2 grand) at the dealership... here, everything for $850/900 max. For ALL of it. On top of this, they gave me gift cards for a free oil change and other discounts for future work. NO other place takes care of their customers like this. Mind you, they also provide customers with a FREE uber home and back (within reasonable area of closeness to the shop. I am 3 minutes away (via car).. but, it still means a lot that they think about their customers and their time constraints (for instance, I work from home some days and I was easily able to get the car in and have the uber get me back home by sign on time.. never any issues with that, either). I have a 2017 Buick Verano (for those wondering what genre of cars they work on) but, they work on a LARGE array of cars, years, etc. They treat everyone like a PERSON and not a number. Also, there is a cute shop dog who loves everyone. :) If you need a place to go that will get you honesty, good work and will not break the bank... look no further than Rising Sun!! :)
