    Me next to my car.
    Marvin B.

I have used BA Auto on several occasions and have always been happy with their work and service. My unfortunate recent encounter with BA has warranted this negative rating along with loss of any future business not because of price or quality of work; but for their handling of an unfortunate issue with a total lack of courtesy, dignity, or respect. I contracted BA Auto to fix several issues I had with my vehicle. Due to unforeseen circumstances the work on my vehicle took 3 months to complete. During that time I had periodic communication with Joe (Service Rep) updating me on progress. Our interactions were professional and cordial. Mid June, Joe contacted me to inform me that the work was finally complete and I could pick up my car. (Friday evening). I informed BA I would pick up the car on Wednesday, my day off, due to my work schedule not coinciding with their hours of operation, I work in Rockville MD. When I picked up my car, I (Repeat that "I") identified a few minutes after paying my $3600 invoice that the rear window on my soft top was disconnected from the top and slightly pushed in. I returned the car within 10 minutes of leaving and reported the issue. I left the car with BA. Joe contacted me and stated, "They had not seen the damage, BA would file an insurance claim, and they would investigate what/how this occurred". I pointed out to Joe and BA that, "This had not been an issue with my car prior, and that whatever happened occurred in the three month time frame my car was in BA's care". Joe assured me, (I want to insure I have his words quoted correctly), "We know this was not an issue when you dropped the car off. Mr._____ don't worry we are going to file the claim, do an investigation, get this resolved, and get your top replaced as quickly as possible". Over a three week time frame, "I" reached out to Joe twice for updates on the insurance claim; our interactions were professional and cordial. Joe informed me that BA had reached out to their insurance company and a sight visit with the inspector had been scheduled. A week later Joe contacted me and left a message, that the insurance company was leaning towards denying the claim, which ultimately they did. I was contacted by Joe, by phone, asking if I had received a letter or call from their insurance company which at that time I had not. The next day, a rep from the insurance company phoned me to say, "We have researched and found that the issue with the rear window is evidently a not un-common occurrence with your year, model, and make. We are denying the claim". That's at! (I still have not received a letter) Here is my issue above and beyond the issue with the car. After the call from the insurance company. (I was on vacation, 3 states away when this call occurred)... I received a call from a gentleman at BA who asked me, "Did the insurance company call me?". "When will you pick up your car?". On Monday I received a second call from a different young lady who asked, "When do you plan to pick up your car?". Where's Joe? What happened to, 'Mr. ____ don't worry, we are going to fix this?". I contacted BA on Tuesday to say, "Since it is supposed to rain today, I will pick up my car on Wednesday, as I cannot drive it due to the window, when the weather is bad. I had my son drive me to BA yesterday, told him what was going on and that I wanted him to see an example of how you communicate to people, professionally, even when you may disagree with an outcome. I went to the desk, informed BA that I was there. The attendant went in back to inform someone. A service rep, went to the bay, drove my car to the front, got out and said, "Have a nice day!" 1) Where is Joe? 2) How about I am sorry this has occurred and for the decisions that had to be made? 3) Why not from the insurance company or BA, "We looked at 3 months worth of video footage and see no evidence that someone in BA caused this? NOT THAT WE APPARENTLY, DID A GOOGLE SEARCH AND FOUND IT HAS HAPPENED TO SOMEONE BEFORE...(BA, seems to be under the impression that would be a sufficient answer for me, ITS NOT!) 4) How about, I know our rep committed to you that BA would make this right, but due to our extensive investigation we are going to have to change what we said. 5) Maybe even this, "We have explained to our Rep that statements such as that are preemptive and he should not do that in the future"...but since he did, we are going to stand by what was said?" Instead I get to say, "Son, here is an example of how you treat someone you have "NO" "Courtesy, Dignity, or Respect" for. Although I paid my bill in full, did not complain about the time it took to repair, and they made a profit in this transaction, off of this customer... For some "Obvious" reason, my money is not green enough to extend, "Simple Courtesy" to me, even if the message you are going to relay is not what I wanted to hear...

All 5 Jaguar 19 inch chrome rims which includes the spare were replaced with rims with this type of danage

BA Auto Care from 7/22/2022-7/26/2022 chopped up my 2009 Jajuar XJ8. The owners took my like new Jaguar Rims and my like new Jaguar Drive Shift Console that I could see were switched for damaged parts. They left black grease or tire dust finger smudges in the trunk as they split my trunk liner. They wrote that battery cables and battery were bad but when the USAA Insurance company took pictures there was no bad cables and the battery still appeared new. They also switched my time on my spare tire. I purchased my automobile from CarMax like brand new with about 44K miles in 2013. Today it has 59310 miles. I thought BA Auto Care was the best British Auto repair for check Engine Light other than the cost of the Jag Dealer Service dept in North Bethesda MD. I was trying to save money. BA Auto only charged me $350 to correct the Engine Light problem. I really do not really trust the fix other than my automobile passed the DC Emissions on 8/2/2022. Beware of BA Auto Care on 9577 Berger Road in Columbia MD. Oh by the way I am a senior citizen and BA Auto Care canibalized my automobile. When I reported this to the wife of the owner she had a reason for everything. I became upset and said there my be a crazy person working for you as I was so offended that she talked down to me and walked away citing that I was raising my voice and angry. The owners have done nothing to address my claim of them chopping up my auto for the expensive rims and the $4k replacement of the drive shift console which the switched the stolen console was switched with one where the S button and Traction button were sticky and tacky with black something and the chrome trim was peeled. Yes my 19 inch tire rims are polished chrome in perfect condition with no visible marks or scratches. To replace just one is $1,400 with the Jaguar emblem. This entire theft is crazy that a company would take advantage of a 74 year old black woman who trusted them based upon their awards and recognition to include reviews. I even spoken to the company three times before making an appointment for 7/22/2022. On that day the first question Mike the service advisor asked was how long have you had this . That should have been a warning signal which I did wonder why was that a concern if BA is a specialist in British Cared such as the Jaguar. So Beware!

Took in my 2018 Mercedes for a safety inspection after purchasing out of state. Waiting room area is awesome I was able to work at a desk I'm quiet and comfort. Didn't even notice the time that had passed and it was done. Will be bringing back the car for routine maintenance schedule.

I knew H many years ago, and found he is still the same honest expertly guy as two decades ago. Damage to my German car from a deer strike did way more damage than met the eye including a bent frame. I was less than enthused with Geico but they made the best of it and saved my car and save me a LOT of out-of-pocket expense. No one could ever tell it had work. Very happy to have it back!

While it was at ACI, we had them repaint my bumper (not in the accident) and try to buff out 9-years worth of scratches on the unaffected side of the car. To say I am impressed and pleased would be an understatement. I LOVE MY CAR ALL OVER AGAIN!!! The work they did was spectacular! In all honesty, when we first saw the car, it didn't look as nice as this. I was a bit disappointed they couldn't get out more of my scratches by buffing it. Shalom was amazing! He and Hertzl didn't want me leaving disappointed. So, in 90 short minutes, they took out the water sander and buffer and had another go at it. Their dedication to our satisfaction is impressive. I highly recommend this business for body work. In fact, they did such a good job with my car, we're bringing in my son's car for some mechanical work. Because we already have a reliable mechanic, I normally wouldn't have rolled the dice on their automotive skills. After they put my beauty back together, I'd trust them with any car work.

So after getting home, I went ahead and drained 2 quarts overfilled. Obviously this was concerning to me considering that I had brought it to what I thought was a reputable shop and they didn't do it correctly. Shortly after draining the overfilled transmission and checking the level, my wife started telling me that the car would flash it's neutral light and free rev without moving. This was upsetting considering that I had just "serviced" the vehicle. Here's where Mike comes in... I did some research and found Suburban Transmissions. I was browsing their website and was completely surprised at how honest they were on their webpage. They were giving away what most shops would probably consider "trade secrets"! I called Suburban and Mike spent 30 minutes talking to me about the history of the transmission, some known issues, and things I could do to troubleshoot the transmission. The way Mike talked about the transmission, I could have sworn that he designed it! My conversation with him floored me since he took time out of his busy day to help me out and was giving me some ideas of things to check for (potentially resulting in me fixing it and not doing business with him). I felt completely comfortable with sending my car to Suburban and that they would not rip me off. Mike repeatedly stated that he's not a parts guy and that he wants to properly diagnose the car rather than throw parts at it to fix it or just sell a new transmission. Mike answered every call. He answered every question. Mike even held the car an extra day to double check the transmission after I told him a symptom that he thought was anomalous. Mike even offered to use what I paid for my repair towards future repairs if my wife's car continued to have problems! Most shops would probably make you pay full price without considering their previous work! I feel that more shops should follow Mike's lead in working with the customer, talking to them as a peer, taking the time to listen to the customer's concern and make sure that the diagnosis is correct, and to not take the shotgun approach of just throwing parts at the car. Working with Mike was such a pleasant experience that it almost makes me wish that I had some other transmission woes. Transmission issues tend to be a huge cause of stress, but Mike is like a guide helping you through the process and helping you take on the burden. Great job, great customer service, great people.

Notice how the good reviews are over a year old, it's from the old owners who were honest. The new guys are scammers and tried to sell me completely unnecessary work on my transmission. I took it to another shop in Laurel and it was fixed in 2 days. These guys wanted to rebuild the transmission. They also charge a diagnostic fee of $165. Other transmission shops will scan the codes for free. My advice is go to North Laurel Transmission right down the street. They will diagnose your transmission for free and won't sell you a fluid service when the transmission has a code for a sensor that needs replacing.
