Heads up--they were already sold out of a couple popular items like the uni and crab, which was a bit disappointing. That said, I was still able to order the uni separately as an appetizer, so it worked out. Overall, the food was decent--nothing that completely wowed me, but still enjoyable for a casual meal. The portions were fair for the lunch pricing, and everything came out pretty presentable. One highlight was the unexpected sweet ending--they gave us a complimentary mochi donut for dessert, which was a nice touch and definitely appreciated. It added a little boost to the overall experience. Service was okay, and the location inside The Source makes it a convenient stop if you're already in the area. Would I come back? The space was clean and well-maintained with a welcoming atmosphere. This was my first time trying premium sushi and sashimi and Venice Beach was the perfect place for it. We pre-ordered a premium cut sashimi platter which was absolutely fresh. We also had sea urchin, sea cucumber, and marinated crab -- everything was high quality. Even the mackerel that came as a side dish was fresh and delicious. You can tell they pay attention to quality and presentation here. The side dishes rounded out the meal nicely with plenty of variety. Service was great and made the birthday dinner feel like a special occasion, additionally they kept bringing complimentary sashimi which was very thoughtful. I've had a lot of seafood, but this place is on another level. They fly in LIVE seafood straight from Korea, and you can genuinely taste the difference in how fresh everything is. The sashimi platter was super generous and had a great variety -- everything tasted clean, fresh, and high quality. We also tried both the soy marinated crab and spicy marinated crab, and both were packed with flavor. Definitely a must-order. The shrimp nigiri (both raw and soy marinated) was also really good and balanced out the meal nicely. The uni bowl was super creamy and loaded -- one of my favorite dishes. We ordered the set B combo and I was honestly surprised by how many side dishes came out. It just kept coming, which made the whole experience feel really worth it. We ended the meal with their spicy fish soup, which was really comforting and tied everything together. Overall, I can see why so many Koreans come here for seafood. You get seated and then order off of a tablet at the table, so there is not much interaction with waitstaff. I ordered the raw soy-marinated shrimps and crab (large). The texture was good, but the flavor could be better, as it was a little fishy for my taste. I've had other raw marinated crabs and shrimps at higher price points, so I would say the quality is fair for the price at this restaurant. It also comes with a lot of good refillable banchan. Upon entering we were greeted with a nice flower arch. It was welcoming and quiet. Hostess seated and greeted with hot tea. Tea was not hot but Luke warm. You must order via portal on table which is not accessible to remove from its stand. Upon scrolling, it did have translate to English but we scrolled and used pictures to order. Order was brought pretty quickly it was 2nd choice because we realized our order that initially was picked stayed red. Red means they are out,so waiter came to assist. This is restaurant is a mix of a sushi place with Korean seafood. It's pretty good. My wife ordered the fish egg stew, which she has all the time. The fish here is good but not great. There's a very good amount of fish eggs and a lot of good ingredients. And the broth is very refreshing. But we both agreed that it could be a little spicier and a little richer ... The flavor was pretty good, but a little thin. The donkatsu was pretty good. The breading was crispy and the pork still pretty tender. Probably average to above average. But, really ... Why am I ordering pork at a seafood place? The Alaska roll was quite good and it's based on that I pulled my rating up to 4 stars. The salmon tasted very fresh. And the proportion of sushi to rice was really good. The spicy tuna was spicy but not overwhelmingly so. Very good. Next time we'll stick to sushi. Not impressed at all!! We were there around noon on a Saturday. Recognized the place from Instagram ads and decided to try. The place was pretty empty. The host said "how many" not a greeting or anything. He barely pointed out to a table and walked away. He didn't explain how it worked. On our own we have figured ordering must be done through a tablet. Water, napkins, a to go box, anything you want. Several items we wanted were sold out and the place just opened. ordered a soybean marinaded crab. One small crab on a dish for $34... unfortunately it wasn't tasty at all. Meanwhile not one staff comes by to check on you. Everything is done via a tablet. Came with a half filled soybean soup. Each time, staff drops off requested items and leaves without saying a word. When we were ready to pay, again use the tablet to ask for a bill. It was like self serve. Will not be returning!! This was the first and last trip. So so so delicious and fresh! I've never had a good experience with uni before but the sea urchin here was so creamy & had no salty/fishy taste. Everything was so delicious. I wasn't expecting them to bring out any sides at all, considering that we were ordering dishes that typically wouldn't come out with banchan. The waitresses were so sweet and polite, making sure we were happy with our food & experience. The interior is gorgeous and there are "private" little booths with shoji dividers so you could enjoy your food without worrying about being stared down (if you're a bit shy about eating in public spaces like me). I was expecting the bill to be over $100 with the quality of everything, but it was well under $75 including 18% tip. They also give you a mochi donut with your bill! The tsukidashi dishes had poor sauce balance, and the three-piece wagyu sushi was tough. The grilled pacific saury was cold and had a strong fishy taste. The only decent thing was the fried vegetables. The main dish, assorted sashimi, looked fresh, but most of the fish except for the flounder had a fishy taste as well as odor. I thought this place was really good! Ordered the Marinated Crab dinner set ($23.99) and an Uni with salmon roe dinner set ($23.99). I've had this fresh from the shell with sesame sushi rice that is perfectly proportioned with he sea urchin size. There's this dark eel or teriyaki like sauce they drizzle on the rice, I am not a fan. I would get that on the side next time and easy rice. The uni should be the star of the dish. It didn't deel like it. Maybe I tried it on not the best day. The service staff was available and nice. The place wasn't too busy. Chill semi quiet since there was barely a handful of tables. I was pleasantly surprised to see another live seafood and Korean sashimi restaurant open in Buena Park, and The Source makes for a perfect location. This spot offers both generous seafood combos that come with an endless parade of sides, as well as a large menu of a la carte options. We opted for the 4 person halibut combo with choice A for our side dishes. I was happy to see that it included almost all of our favorites including abalone sashimi, uni roe rice, spicy marinated raw crab and marinated raw shrimp. There were many more dishes included with the combo, which was easily enough food to feed 5 adults. The halibut sashimi was served fresh and cut well, while the crab stew made for a refreshing end to our meal. If you order any of their combos, you are guaranteed to leave this place stuffed. The space is not that large and the interior lacks a bit of ambiance, but the seafood is as fresh as you can get. The only thing preventing me from giving this place 5 stars is that the price is comparable to the other live seafood restaurants in Buena Park and I'm not sure this place is quite as impressive. But what you do get is a great option for Korean sashimi in the middle of The Source, and that's worth something. read more

My family and I got the sashimi for 4 and picked A group with fish bone soup. My experience was great not only were the staff so friendly and kind and so attentive. The fish was fresh and came out in a timely fashion where I did wait long at all. The sashimi came with a lot of items and you will definitely feel full and satisfied. The items in the photos are what came with it. We did not order any additional items. Every item was above satisfactory. Even the inside was very nicely decorated.
