Since the hotels at L.A. LIVE are within walking distance from our house, we had our breakfast at Savoca, located inside the JW Marriott Hotel. The atmosphere there is great and it's a quick walk from home, so my mom and I had decided to visit on a weekend after taking a walk around there recently, and today was the day we finally went.
My dad, one of my brothers, and I each had the Eggs Benedict. My mom ordered the Avocado Toast, and my other brother ordered pancakes. All five of us also ordered coffee. I asked for decaf, and our waitress kindly let us know that the decaf coffee pot was the orange one.
Their weekend breakfast hours are from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM.
When I arrived and said we were a party of five, the host asked for our room number. I told him we didn't have one since we weren't staying at the hotel. The host (I remember his name was Eduardo) was wearing earrings. I told him, "I like your earrings," and he smiled brightly, saying, "Thank you, I appreciate it," before leading us to our table. The first table he took us to was a high-top, which I didn't think my dad would be comfortable sitting at. I asked for a lower, round table instead, and he happily guided us to a new table.
All the food was delicious. The Avocado Toast my mom ordered was made with a dark bread, and she said it was excellent. Also, the orange butter and cream that came with my brother's pancakes were absolutely amazing.
The restaurant also offers a weekend breakfast buffet for $42 per person. I took a look at what they had, and included oatmeal, various breads including muffins, yogurt, eggs, sausage, bacon, orange juice, and a made-to-order omelet station on one side.
We had a wonderful family breakfast and took a light walk afterward. The ambiance is great, the staff are all friendly, and the food is delicious, so I'm sure we'll be going back. Next time, I want to try their other menus, not just breakfast.
