It's a huge hotel, which makes it ridiculous that this restaurant closes for 30 minutes between breakfast and lunch. This means you cannot get anything to eat at 11am on weekdays and 11:30pm on weekends. (Pro tip: you can walk across the street to Cafe Fig inside the Hotel Figueroa, which serves brunch from 7am to 3pm everyday.) A very long wait to be seated even though the restaurant was not very full. Despite a line of a half-dozen people, the hostess was away from the hostess stand, doing something other than seating guests, and the servers would not seat guests. It appears the seating software is complex. It took a while for the hostess to click on various screens and interrogate me about whether I was staying in the hotel, my room number, and my last name. When I was finally seated, the coffee mug at my table was dirty. However, the service and the food are good. Breakfast portions are large. I enjoyed an omelette with a side of bacon. It was a lot of bacon!
I went to Adobe Max this week and it was so much fun! While I was there, before a keynote, I wanted to grab some breakfast. For a place of where to eat, I chose the restaurant inside of the JW Marriott. I ordered a very refreshing grapefruit juice and also eggs in purgatory. When the dish came out, it looked so much like shakshouka, so I asked the person who brought it to me if it was. They said they never heard of that, but the only difference was that there was cheese added to the dish, in addition to the poached eggs and tomato sauce and bread. It was really good regardless! Even with how busy the restaurant was due to the chaos that a large event causes, the food came out quick, the waiter was attentive and the service was great. The ambience was nice too. I think this dish was a win and I would dine here again!

I came here recently during my stay at the JW Marriott. We got a $20 credit for food, so this seemed to be the perfect fit. I made the mistake of coming around 10:30 am on a Saturday, so it was BUSY! However, we still got seated on the patio right away. It seemed like our server may have been overwhelmed, or maybe on a break. The manager, Laura helped us and she was incredible. She was super nice, and also kicking butt, carrying trays, and remembered our order without writing anything down. The prices are pretty standard for a hotel restaurant. The food was pretty good too! The fruit cup was super juicy! My one negative is that the water cups on the table were a little dirty (water stains) and so was my napkin. Also, my omelette was really watery/runny. However, it was a beautiful day to sit on the patio and Laura was the star!!

Overall I really liked it, but for the price it wasn't necessarily anything special. The salmon was well-cooked, not over or under. I would have liked it better if the salmon had a crispy skin, but the skin was removed. Pasta was soft, just the way I like it. If you prefer your pasta al dente, then you may not like it as much. Atmosphere and service were both great but my rating is only for the food.
My friend and I had shared a margarita pizza just before the BET show since it was going to be a 3 hours long. Chris(tian) was our server and super sweet and attentive. The pizza crust was so good and it was a thin crust. Very fresh and just perfect. The ambiance was pretty barren since we got there as they were closing but a lot of open space.
The Executive Lounge at the JW Marriott was super packed, so we were fortunate to have tried Savoca's Breakfast Buffet. The spread is pretty nice. They serve pretty much everything you would want from an AYCE brunch buffet. The customer service was good and the restaurant is spacious. I tend to stay away from restaurants that are part of hotels, but Savoca seems to be a decent option if you're in the LIVE area of downtown LA.

Restaurant was beautiful and sat us quickly with reservation Pros: Food was delicious and presented well Waitress was attentive and nice Cocktails were gorgeous (I got the "Will you stay in LA") Cons: Food took a bit long to come out Our table of five ordered Salmon Entree Chicken Parm sandwich (came on a black bun!) Lemon Chicken Wagyu Burger Branzino Triple chocolate cake
DELICIOUS! The Italian cuisine that is showcased at this restaurant is stellar! I had the rigatoni bolognese and I literally melted into my seat when I had my first bite, so flavorful! I paired my meal with an avocado Caesar salad and an exquisite Italian Cheesecake covered in chocolate with a serving of ice cream and cocoa powder. Staff was okay, my waitress was attentive and polite but overall they were quite awkward. However, I would return to this restaurant as it had excellent food options. Shout out to the girl who brought all the dishes to my table she was so kind-hearted and professional! Note: this is a pricier, upscale establishment but it's causal!
Wonderful ambiance and amazing service. Food was delicious. We shared the plates, the pistachio pesto pasta with shrimp and burrata were my favorite.

I expected it to be a nice warm regular waffle and was excited for the whipped cream. What I got was not as described. There was no whipped cream on the waffle and worse it was not a regular waffle. It was a cold hard waffle, like those ones you can buy for a snack over at Jamba Juice. I think Jamba calls them Belgian Waffles, no where on the menu did it state this would be a hard cold waffle and not a nice hot regular waffle that one would expect. I would expect more coming from an expensive hotel and the price point
I got here right when they opened this morning. It's pretty spacious, and there's no wait to be seated. It's right across from the Illy Caffe in the hotel lobby, next to the back exit, and has lots of Bobby seating. However, the service was bad. The server got the order and still put it on the bill, and the food was cold and not very good. The bread was very dry.
Took my mom to celebrate her birthday and they made her feel so special. The server was a young woman who really catered to us. Truly an amazing place to celebrate the people you love.

for the service. The gentleman who helped me out was very courteous and professional. But as for the food; The California Branzino was definitely not me. I took a few bites and just asked for a take out box. I then proceeded to order the burger, That one was actually decent and enjoyable. I was satisfied with it. It was served with chips which is a nice touch. Located inside the JW Marriott hotel so ambiance could be a bit loud since there's a lot of people inside chatting. read more
GREAT LOCATION! 4.0 Savoca is located inside the JW Marriott in downtown Los Angeles. If you're entering from the front of the hotel, it can be a bit difficult to find since it is situated at the rear of the hotel. Approaching from the back, near L.A. Live and the Peacock Theater, offers a much more inviting first impression, as you'll immediately see both the indoor and outdoor dining areas. The indoor dining room has an open, airy feel thanks to its soaring ceilings. During our visit, however, it was quite noisy due to renovations taking place at the adjacent bar inside the JW Marriott. Once the bar is completed, it will make for a great one-stop eat and drink option. We experienced Savoca in two ways: through in-room breakfast service and by dining in the restaurant for lunch. We stayed next door at The Ritz-Carlton, where room service breakfast is provided by Savoca. The Ritz-Carlton and the JW Marriott share several amenities, and Savoca is one of them. Our room service breakfast was delicious, and the coffee was exceptional. We later discovered they proudly serve Illy coffee, which also has a small café on the lobby level of the JW Marriott, just steps from Savoca. Our dine-in lunch was equally enjoyable. We shared the mushroom, fontina, roasted garlic, and honey pizza, and it was very delicious. It was lighter than most pizzas, without the heaviness or excess oil, making it feel like a healthier option without sacrificing flavor. If you're in the area, Savoca is a great place to enjoy a meal before heading to one of the many nearby sports or entertainment venues. read more

Had reservations for early breakfast. Ordered avocado toast and it was delicious. Looked like the rest of the gang enjoyed their food as well. We opted for ala carte than the buffet breakfast. Thought the breakfast buffet price of $39 is too much. Guess, this is the inflation price and probably normal. Though the food was delicious, not happy with the service. I heard my hubby suddenly made a comment, "Do you want me to leave?" Hubby shared that the server asked if the food was to go. Not sure if the server was joking. If he were, it wasn't appropriate. Why would we make reservations in the first place if we want the food to go? We were comfortably seated already sipping our coffee. Your server needs a refresher course on customer service. We did valet parking for $15 plus tax..... for 2 hours. The machine for parking across the street was not working. We didn't want to take the risk of getting ticketed or towed. Worked well unexpectedly as it was pouring by the time we were done eating. Stayed dry. read more

While in the area, hubby and I were starving! We wanted to try something different, and we came across Savoca, located inside the JW Marriot at LA Live. When we arrived, we were greeted and seated right away. There weren't many people there, and it was very calm and relaxing. The decor was very modern and gave me boho vibes. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We started with drinks, of course! We ordered two Will You Stay In LA. Both hubby and I enjoyed the drink and decided we WILL stay in LA. Haha. For our main, hubby ordered the beef filet, which came with mashed potatoes, he also added a side of broccolini, and I ordered braised beef cheeks with cauliflower purée and veggies. Omg! Everything was amazing! Our food was nice and hot, freshly made. Even the side of broccolini that hubby ordered was delicious! It made us want to eat it more often. We were both definitely satisfied and had big smiles on our faces. We ate everything on our plates! We, of course, ordered dessert. Hubby ordered the strawberry shortcake, and the basil panna cotta. I also ordered a cappuccino. Please believe me when I tell you, the desserts were so scrumptious and heaven! The desserts were beautifully platted and were so elegant looking. The strawberry shortcake isn't your regular degular strawberry shortcake. No, ma'am, it's on a whole other level. It's a must-try! Both hubby and I were so happy that we tried this new place and tried something new. It was definitely worth it. We will be back! read more
Very surprising for a hotel restaraunt, pleasantly surprising. Big open ceiling and windows. The decor could use some help. It doesn't look very appealing but the food made up for it. We think its the chairs. Appetizer- Burrata which was excellent. Filet Mignon- Cooked perfectly, tasty mashed potatoes, and very good and tasty fried artichoke. Cavatelli- The flavors of this dished where inredible and all popped. The crab, the brown butter, the lemon crumbs.... yummy!!! read more

OVERALL EXPERIENCE: The food was ok, but there was no wow factor for me. I'm not sure I would come back. They have a different menu for brunch... maybe the food is better? Service was excellent though!! AMBIANCE: Located in the JW Marriott hotel. Noise level is noisy since it's open concept to the hotel lobby. DRESS CODE: Smart Casual ORDERED: Came for DineLA 10/2023. We got the roasted beet salad, burrata, braised beef, seared branzino, pumpkin spice cheesecake, and a birthday dessert on the house! For drinks: Will You Stay in LA? and Little Italy SERVICE: Service was exceptional! Super friendly and attentive! PARKING: I'm sure you can park at the hotel, but we found street parking for free and walked two blocks. read more
Excellent brunch menu especially for anyone on the go. I was in a hurry and decided to stop by for a quick brunch. Their menu is simple and they even offer a brunch buffet. I ended up ordering the eggs in purgatory which are poached eggs in a fire roasted tomato sauce with Italian sausage and mozzarella. This dish comes with cherry tomatoes and grilled focaccia for dipping. The dish is both delicious and filling. This restaurant is inside the JW Marriott is beautifully decorated. The space has a high ceiling, plants, and is full of natural lighting. Service was fast and attentive. Given an opportunity, I would try their buffet breakfast. read more
Came here during anime expo and it was a perfect experience to have! Service was great, our waitress was Paris (like the city) and she was phenomenal! Very easy going, didnt rush us, checked up on us frequently and even chatted with us about anime for a bit at the end. She definitely made this a lovely experience! Food was delicious, 5 stars all the way. The bread at the beginning was warm and savory with the perfect amount of balsamic/oil combo. I ordered the 'Blanca Pizza'. It was soft, flavorful, rich and a bit salty (in a good way). I also got to taste the 'Prosciutto Pizza' and that is a definite must try when there! Very fresh, soft fluffy crust, melty cheese without being messy- I absolutely recommend! The ambiance was nice, if a bit noisy lol. I imagine that's normal during a convention though. Was here on a weeknight for dinner, and there were not many people (aside from a group that rented out a room). Service was slow but friendly. The food is Italian-inspired with California ingredients, which really shine in their salads. I also had the Cavatelli, which was heavier than I expected but still good. The Opera cake was a nice end to a three-course meal. It was an interesting experience, but given the quality and price point, I was slightly disappointed. I would eat here again, and hopefully it will be a better experience. read more
Another one of those lucky encounter. We happened to walk by and noticed the little cute cabin like pod. Obviously with everything going on and things are starting to open back up. It was a needle in a haystack getting reservations anywhere. Firstly, this wasn't the place we were planning on but just happened to walk by and checked it out. Everything in the area was basically reservations only or get in the wait list with the other fifty that was already on it. Came to meet some friends for dinner. With no luck getting a table anywhere, due to our poor timing and last minute dinner plans. We happened to just walk by the restaurant and wondered what this place was. It's the Italian restaurant inside the JW Marriott but with covid, they converted the outside to seating with the pods. The fairly light caught our attention, good advertising. The main restaurant is inside by the bar but with how cute it looked outside, we gave it a shot to see if any tables were available. Just our luck, they had one but not for half and hour or so. Which was fine, just spent it at the bar with a drink instead. Actually didn't take that long for the table or maybe the drinks were catching up. Our waiter Ryan was excellent. The sweetest and friendliest. He was very patient with us which was so amazing. Brought over some tasting for us to try with the wine before hand to see if a bottle was something we wanted. Opted out for cocktails instead. There was four of us and everything on the menu looked oh so good. Between us all and everything looking scrumptious, we just went the a la carte way. Ordered and shared everything. Starters are pretty small so heads up with that. Depending on what you have as a main, you may want a starter to balance it out if you're a big eater. Everything that we ordered was oh so good. The cioppino was great, small portion as it was under the starters. But never had it served with beans before. Burrata and beef salad was great, truffle cheese and fig spread was great as well. Main was amazing with the steak, spare ribs, and brazino. As well as the pizza. Also had some sides of the cauliflower and broccolini. Hungry was the least you can say. Everything was amazing. Had to move things around and take plates away just to make sure everything fitted on the table. After everything, there was no room for dessert as we totally enjoyed everything with nothing left to spare. That stroll that leads you to something new and wonderful. This placed happened to be it and now will totally be making a visit again. Amazing service with Ryan as well as the hostess counter. The gentleman and lady that took our name when we checked in was amazing as well. Just from the start, chatting with them was fun. Even though you just meet them, it's like chatting with friends. What really lured me in, upon discovering this place, was the "cottages" they had set up on the restaurant's patio with respect to outdoor dining during this pandemic. Each party was designated their own "cottage." It was charming, inviting, and might I say, romantic, and most definitely private. The ongoing change in lights also made us feel as though we were in Times Square, NY. It was quite the vibe! Add to that our excellent and most attentive server, Ryan and his knowledge of food & drink and love of travel, and I began to doubt the naysayers on Yelp. Though the menu is limited, the few things we had ordered were all absolutely delicious! I had my friend try the burrata, which is my favorite cheese ever, but a first for him, and we agreed the combination of the creaminess of the Italian cow's milk with the salted crispness of the fluffy Ciccoli bread, sent our tastebuds to Heaven. We both thought we would definitely come back here just for this appetizer alone!! The cacio e pepe (cheese & black pepper pasta), 3-cheese pizza, and pan-roasted branzino (one of my favorite fish and not one you often find on menus) were all divine. When you have excellent customer service, delicious food, and a beautiful ambiance to boot, you've got the trifecta of fine dining that is very hard to come by these days. The concept of dining in your own private space is fantastic! The lights from the LA Live billboards set a certain ambiance. You either love it or hate it. We had early, 6 pm, dinner reservations which made everything quiet. My guess, is that if we weren't in Covid times the aluminum framed cottage and plastic enclosure would provide for a fair amount of privacy and muffling of the surrounding atmosphere. There is a space heater in the cottage for warmth. What I didn't understand was that one of the plastic wall sides was removed, allowing the cold air back in. We ordered off of the DineLA menu, which as you know is a great introduction to a new restaurant but is somewhat limited in choices. The food was simple but good. We had the pork meatballs, roasted beet salad, Bucatini cacio e Pepe, Mary's chicken Milanese and both the olive oil cake and chocolate torta. As with all outdoor dining during this season, our food cooled off faster than we'd have liked it to. My one complaint is that the olive oil cake was much drier than I'm used to for any olive oil cake. The chocolate torta though was fantastic. It had a very nice bitter sweetness to it that wasn't overpowering. We parked in the LA LIVE east lot. Either way, it's a short jaunt up the escalator or elevator and across the open area to the hotel. Parking is $10. The name is confusing, when the hostess welcomed us, I believe she said welcome to The Glance which although I could see the cottages, didn't translate to cottage or Savoca clearly in my head. I'd come back to try more of the menu. read more

Amazing and Amazing ! Beautiful space with delicious quality food. We ordered the wings and beet salad. Both good . For dinner we ordered the chicken and steak. Phenomenal. Underwhelming for a restaurant at the Ritz / JW Marriott. We came here twice during our stay at the Ritz because we had a $200 hotel credit + complimentary breakfast. We used a portion of our credit for dinner here, and I'm really glad we didn't spend our own money. First of all - the ambiance here is really weird/off especially for a "nice dinner place". The vibe indoors felt like a cafeteria. We opted to sit outdoors, which was better. Then the food came out and just the presentation already looked unappealing. Taste wise wasn't any better. The dishes were all under seasoned and over cooked. We ordered the hamachi crudo to start, and the branzino and roasted chicken as mains. I'd come here for breakfast over dinner. The setting is more fit for breakfast, but breakfast was just okay too. For breakfast, the buffet is definitely overpriced with minimal selection, though you can also just order a la carte and opt out of buffet. Their buffet had basic continental breakfast type items - pastries, oatmeal, cereal, fresh fruit, sausage, eggs, and bacon. They also had an omelet station. But it's definitely not worth it beyond the convenience factor of eating breakfast at the hotel. read more
Waited one hour for the food to arrive. Both pasta dishes were bland. Over priced and small portions. There was barely any meat in the bolognese. The other one was called zucchini pasta, but there was no zucchini. We added shrimp to the pasta and only got three shrimps. Branzino was decent. Overall terrible dining experience and parking is expensive. read more

Solid spot for quick lunches at the JW. We tried the Caesar avocado salad, beet salad, and the burger. Overall service was good. One day they were a bit behind but the waitress did her best to make up for it once she was able to get to us. A bit pricey but to be expected for a hotel restaurant. read more

Blah!!! I didn't like this too much at all. Food wasn't good in my opinion. Service was great, wine was great, ambiance is chill-- but remember it's attached to a hotel so it can get loud w| crowds. I would only go back to get wine. *shrugs* read more
