We had an exceptional experience here. The service was impeccable and the ambiance was simply lovely. The pasta was absolutely delicious. We visited this restaurant as part of a stop on the Red Dining Book food guide, and it certainly lived up to the hype.

Have you ever wanted to have dinner on the set of a bathroom from the 1980s world of American Psycho? If so, this is the level of tile, reflective surfaces, red light, and (volume of) retro lounge music for you. All pasta dishes were cooked competently, but nothing I would crave going back for in the future. The calamari was surprisingly spicy - more than my preferred level, so I'd skip that next time. The Caesar salad was quite nice. TONS of cheese. Same with the brussel sprouts, which we enjoyed. This place is definitely about the vibe and the proximity to other activities downtown. It was a busy Thursday night when we were there. It was somewhat cramped and difficult to get around inside, and service was a little slow due to the busy-ness. Wait staff was friendly and made good suggestions!

Me and my friends visited for a girls night and loved this place!! We had a reservation for a Friday night for 6 people. It wasn't busy at all and we stayed until close LOL. The staff was really nice. It's a cute restaurant, has pink decor everywhere. It's pretty small and parking is tough! I ordered the pomodoro pasta, it's not on the menu. Its a great dish, very balanced and not too heavy :) We also ordered a few bottles to share with the table. Everyone loved their dishes-- I wasn't able to try them all, but it was the perfect vibe for our group to catch up!

I really do not have much to add but can attest that the pappardelle bolognese is amazing!! Mona gets it every time!

Super delicious!!! 10/10 recommend this place and the service is amazing. Such sweet people with a New York vibe.

Service was great and the ambiance was amazing. I feel like it's based on personal preference, so I personally really liked the dim lighting and enjoyed my time with my friends. For appetizers we had the cesar salad which was amazing, and the meatballs which tasted great, but the portion was very small for a table of 4. The pastas were honestly okay, we all got the vongole and the vodka pastas, both were enjoyable but also not the best pastas we've ever had. We also had a tiramisu at the end which was delicious!

I went into this restaurant on a weeknight and was seated immediately. It's a bit dark in there and wasn't loud so you could definitely have more of a romantic date vibe with conversation. The service itself was fine. Our waiter was attentive and the food came out pretty fast. It's not my favorite but pasta place in DTLA nor I would say the top three but I could see coming to this restaurant frequently if you're a local.

Probably one of my favorite meals in recent memory. We were just walking by and the cozy atmosphere and dim lighting pulled us in. The calamari was great. The caesar salad was great as well, although I do wish it was chopped just so the flavors were distributed better. We each ordered a pasta and it was difficult to choose, I wanted to try each one! However I feel I chose right for my first time. The pasta texture was so perfect and the flavor to die for. The meat was incredibly tender. We raved about it the whole walk home! I had a glass of white and my bf two glasses of a red, both recommendations of the server who was pleasant and the perfect amount of presence during our meal. We never felt forgotten or bombarded. The tiramisu was so creamy and delicious. Overall I can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu!

OMG!! we came here before the Angus and Julia Stone concert (around the corner from the Orpheum Theatre) the last Saturday in June and what a cozy little joint this place is! We sat at the bar Service was spot on, my wine was delicious (a Chenin Blanc) and the Bolognese Pappardelle was mouthwateringly good! The wine list consist of natural wines. Such a chill vibe in here but we were early in our reservations so keeping that in mind I'd say it might get busier the later the hour. Also be aware they do NOT take cash for payment of your meal. They do, of course for tips just not for the meal. Not a lot of room in here so don't come with the thought of a romantic dinner for two where you can whisper sweet-nothings to one another without someone else overhearing hahaha. Parking lot was well lit behind the building, it is shared with the Theater. Respectfully Reviewed.

We went on a Sunday night and it was surprisingly empty. The service was great, but the staff is small as the space is small as well. However, the server was attentive and the food came out timely. We ordered the burrata, cacio e pipe, filet mignon, calamari, and meatballs. All were pretty good but some better than others of course. The burrata with tomatoes were so delicious and I am not a tomatoe fan, but the dish was so cohesive with the dollops of pesto and sprinkling of sea salt. The cacio e pepe was delicious as well and very cheesy, so be prepared. The bucatini was the perfect texture and just the right amount of chew to hold the sauce. Everything else ordered was good, but those were my top picks.

This spot is a vibe! Really simple, yet aesthetically pleasing interior... I think the candle lighting, pink walls, and mirrors make the place feel perfect for a date night. The food feels the same way. I shared the crudo, Spaghetti Alla Vongole, and branzino with my date. The crudo was pretty unique with a beet vinaigrette that I enjoyed -- def recommend getting the bread add on. My favorite was the Vongole tho, the clams were delicious with the garlic pieces. Service was fine. We went like 30 mins before the kitchen closed so not a big rush!

The list clearly favors organic and biodynamic producers, which I always appreciate--minimal intervention, letting the terroir and varietal speak without unnecessary manipulation. The flight format was flexible, offering around five selections with the option to choose three pours. I went with a sparkling red, an orange wine, and a white--each bringing its own personality to the table. The sparkling red was lively and slightly unconventional, the orange wine had that textured, skin-contact complexity, and the white rounded things out with a clean, expressive finish. Our server elevated the experience by guiding the tasting order, which made a noticeable difference in how each wine showed. It's always a good sign when the staff understands how to pace a flight rather than just drop it off and walk away. We didn't explore the food menu this time, so I can't speak to the full program, but purely from a wine perspective, it lands at a solid 4 stars for me. The space itself is ideal for a relaxed midday tasting--plenty of seating, with a great outdoor setup. The tall greenery creates a sense of privacy without feeling closed off, making it just as suitable for a casual date as it is for catching up with friends. Honestly, if you've got a flexible workday and don't need to be on camera, this is a pretty perfect spot to post up with a glass and ease into the afternoon.

I did see some tables out on the sidewalk, but not sure if they all belong to them or Santos right next door. They have a good amount of wines that are domestic and international. Our server, Rob (I think that was his name), gave us a few samples to try before we landed on one. Their menu is not that extensive, so just be aware of that. We didn't have reservations, but we were able to grab a table inside at around 5:30pm on a Saturday. This place was busy. I really liked the Hamachi Crudo. That was so good, but there's only 4 slices for about $21. It's dressed in a ponzu yuzu sauce. It was so good that we ended up pouring the left over sauce on to our Tuna Tostada. Both items were fresh and I could not taste any fishiness. We also ordered the Mushroom Risotto and Cacio e Pepe. I thought the risotto was good, but the rice was definitely undercooked. I would have said something, but we didn't have much time left. The pasta reminded me of Mac n Cheese. I thought it was way too salty and didn't really do it for me. Kind of disappointed in the mains, but the 2 apps were really good.

Glassell Park is a hidden neighborhood in Los Angeles, anyway, and if you don't know what you are looking for, you might zip right past W&S, as we did. Parking is hit and miss, but there are side streets and you will find a space if you give yourself an extra 15 minutes before you come. The neighborhood is mysterious to me, sort of pricey grunge & hipster, iykwim. But! Once you are inside, you are in a completely different world. Bright, clean, genteel, muted, with dappled sunlight dripping through various apertures and alighting in a soft glow here and there on shining metal tables. It's beautiful. Some catchy upbeat contempo-pop music streamed steadily at just the right volume overhead. I found myself resisting the temptation to get up and dance. There are several rooms from which to choose, but I wanted to be seated on the wine-red suede banquette that gave me a view of the whole restaurant and out onto the tree-canopied street. From the time we arrived to the moment we left about an hour later, we were showered with warm smiles and attentive service. And the food? Exquisite. See my pictures. It was hard to choose. One tiny disappointment was they were out of the biscuits that I wanted to start with, but I enjoyed the crusty tender Clark Street bread slices served with warm creamery butter instead. It only got better from there. The two bowls we ordered were filled with fresh vegetables, cooked to perfection, topped with an egg prepared as we requested, i.e., over medium. The portions are modest and it was all so good, we didn't take anything home. We ordered coffee and were brought two tall steaming mugs of Americano, smooth, dark, and delicious. Best of all was the Lemon Lavender cake, a seasonal specialty. Honestly, it might be one of the best, moistest, most flavorful and elegant cakes I have ever had. So fantastic, that I just ordered some lavender buds (if I don't collect them from our garden) to replicate it at home. I don't drink much alcohol but if I did, I would head here for one of their experiences or tastings -- they have a formidable list. Check all this out. And hurry if you want to have Lemon Lavender cake.

Everyone also didn't feel particularly welcoming, from the hostess to the waitress (no smiles). Thankfully, we were seated outside for some fresh air, although the warm murky smell still lingered a bit outdoors. The menu seem fairly limited since nothing really stood out to me as especially exciting. I've studied the menu prior before going, and was only looking forward to their burger, but they didn't have it during dinner apparently. While the dishes were descripted very well on the menu, there was no depth in flavors. I'm talking about the pork belly, lamb chops, tartare, Spanish octopus, and especially the seasonal pasta. I'm happy that it wasn't overly salty, but overall the food tasted mediocre and felt a bit basic. I'm only saying this because I could make it myself, at least the lamb, fatty pork belly, and pasta. Portions were also on the small side. Service was a bit slower as it took some time to get seated and receive our food, and one of our dishes was forgotten until we reminded the staff after already finishing most of the meal. On the positive side, we were able to find easy street parking about a block away, and the restaurant itself has a cozy ambiance that would probably be great for a chill dinner with some wine. However, my group left still feeling very hungry and unsatisfied. To be fair, we came in hungry, and the portions and long wait didn't help.
