My service was good except for the fact that they went way too high on my heel while scraping the dead skin. It hurt during it but I thought the lady was getting some extra dead skin in the area. It was painful for several days after and left a scab. I called to ask for some money back and they did not do anything to make it right. They said I could come in and they would look at it. But I live in a different city and was visiting for the holidays so that will not work. They said they could fix what was damaged but could not give me a refund, gift card, or anything. I have yet to find a quality nail salon in Lakewood/Rocky River, and unfortunately after my visit to Venetian I'm still searching. My nail tech, Katie, was super friendly and I really had high hopes that this would be my new spot. My pedi was okay, but she told me that unless I upgraded (i.e. paid more) that she couldn't remove my callouses. Moving on to my manicure, I asked for nail art but was informed that it was a $20 up charge. I opted for French tips instead, a $10 up charge, which she said she specialized in. As you can see from the photos, there was polish all over my cuticles, and the tips were extremely uneven and thick. Fast forward to a few weeks later, I decided to give Venetian one more chance. I specifically asked for Zoe as she has come highly recommended from friends. When I arrived, I was assigned a nail tech who was not Zoe. When I informed them that I had made an appointment specifically with Zoe, I was told that she wasn't working. My second mani was just as bad and unfortunately I will not be back. read more

I went here one week ago when I was visiting my mother for a fun mother daughter day. We both got gel manicures and regular pedicures. The total for just services was $178 It seemed ok but here we are a week later and I have 4 gel polished nails chipped and one toe nail chipped... my toe nails never chip until it's been a long time. I've been here before and had excellent polishes. I have been wearing acrylic nails on and off for years. After a 10 month beak, I was excited to put them back on. After the acrylic but before the polish, I asked the nail tech to please add more acrylic and give them a curved look. She told me "no" her way would look more natural. What a mistake going here was! Im new to the area and went Saturday March 11- walk in with a call- got Betty. She made my nails too short for me and not the style I wanted. She just would not do what I wanted: I'm paying, why shouldn't I get what I want?? Came here with my fiancée for pedis on a weekend- everywhere else was booked up solid but they had space which I suppose should have sparked some doubt in my mind but I was excited for some relaxation time. I had gel on my nails so the tech told me it would be an extra charge to take it off which I understood. I was doing some stuff on my phone and before I realized it she had drilled all of the gel off without soaking any of it off which I feel damages your nails. The rest of the pedi was rushed through because it was clear she just wanted to get home. At the end when I brought up the concern about the gel, she said oh that's how we do gel take off on the feet because it's just your toes, for hands we definitely don't do that. I said well I don't think you should charge if the customer feels uncomfortable about the way it's done, to which she just shrugged it off. I talked to the manager afterward who was even more unhelpful. She said next time just tell them that's what you want, instead of finding a way to make it right by not charging for the removal or giving an incentive to come back. There are many other nail salons in Cleveland that value the customer and their experience more than this place, don't waste your time. As you can see, the replies by the manager to all the concerns raised about their business are inadequate attempts at addressing these issues. read more

I took my Mom to get her nails done and everything was fine until her nail tech took a chunk of skin off her toe. I could tell it was painful. He said it was a burn from the product he applied while scrubbing with a hard yellow sponge. He offered no remedy other than some lotion...not even a bandaid. I had a lot to do tonight and now my night is completely thrown off. They haven't even communicated anything to me and just keep avoiding me. Also, it smelled like urine today. My friend recommended this place to me because I was looking for a nail salon open on Sundays. Sunday is the best day to get a mani-pedi amiright?!? I made an appointment, which was a good thing because the place was packed. There is a very nice manager who manages all the phone calls, appointments and walk-ins. This was important because I HAD made an appointment. The manager made sure to whisk me off to my pedi station before the walk-in appointments. My nail tech, Viviana, was wonderful!! My feet had been butchered at my last pedicure (not at Venetian) and I told Viviana that my feet were very sensitive. She was incredibly gentle and made sure to keep asking me if everything was OK. When she did my manicure, she noticed that my nails are short and asked if I worked on a computer all day. I told her that I do work on a computer all day everyday and I was so impressed with her insight. She was sure to give trim my nails to accommodate that lifestyle. I left with a perfectly shiny pedicure and gel mani. A bonus was Viviana's sweet disposition and genuine service. The salon is undergoing an expansion, so I imagine it will be even better soon. My one gripe is the "temporary" signage outside the building. The salon is located in a lovely shopping center, but has a plastic sign hanging out front. A nicer facade would give even more value to this Rocky River gem. read more

The technician who worked on me argued with me the ENTIRE time, she kept calling me sensitive because she was hurting me. I had Kayla-probably the worst pedicure I have ever had. The chair stopped working, and she said she doesn't mess with the chair. The massage was literally 1/2 a minute, right after I mentioned the massage is my favorite part. Nails were flying during the clipping, I received a cut during the removal of cuticles. Polish could have been done by a fifth grader. I wanted to talk to management, but Kayla lingered the whole transaction and after. No one else ask how it went. Walked in for a gel manicure and regular pedicure at 6:15 pm on a Saturday (keep in mind, their Saturday hours are open until 8 pm), and they tell me they aren't able to take me as they are completely full for the remainder of the night. Walking into this salon I was pleasantly surprised with the atmosphere, the upscale look, elegance and lack of typical nail salon odor. However, this gave me higher standards than I should have had. I called to see if they were busy before walking in without an appointment. I just needed a fill and wanted black nail polish. Nothing too fancy. Fortunately they were not busy at all, so I was seated right away. The nail tech didn't really greet me or talk to me a lot, which isn't usually a problem, however, he made me feel very uncomfortable. The whole experience seemed very rushed and as if I was a burden to him. I knew he was judging my nails and the length of time I've waited to get them filled (Hey, I work two jobs...). He kept telling me to relax my hands, but instead of nicely saying it in a reassuring voice, it was more of a demand. Relaxing after this was of course impossible. I asked him if he could file my nails a little shorter than they were and he said no, that with a fill he cannot file them any shorter. I've never had a nail tech deny filing my nails..."okay then", I thought, "I'll file them when I'm home." He did a nice job on the front of my nails, but underneath it's pretty messy. Not smooth at all and he left some polish on my hands. While I was waiting for my nails to dry I accidently bumped one nail against the table and smudged it, but I was actually worried he'd be mad at me if I told him. So I thought, "Ugh, I guess I'll just fix it at home..." I shouldn't feel intimidated by a nail tech. They should always be friendly, professional and make every customer comfortable. When I left the salon, nobody even blinked or acknowledged me leaving. Usually when I leave any store, salon, etc, I'm told to have a good night or at least thanked. My fill cost $21.60, which is the most I've ever paid for a fill. I could get a full set with french tips where I normally go for $25. read more

This is one of the worst nail salons I've ever visited. In terms of appearance, it's very nice and very clean. I will give them that. It LOOKS inviting. However, I soon found out that it is not. I've given it a few chances because it's in a convenient location. Each time I've left disappointed. While some of the employees are very nice, I've encountered too many who were rude and unprofessional. After getting a gel manicure, I tipped an employee with cash. She did not even thank me. She just grabbed my money and stormed off. (After not speaking to me the entire time I was there.) I decided to give them another chance. Everyone has bad days, right?! So, I went back and I got another gel manicure. It chipped fairly soon after my visit. I went back to get it fixed. The employee who fixed it was awful. She never said hello. Just grabbed my hand, scowled, and started working on my nail. She did a terrible job and the end result looked nothing like my other nails. I was in Sunday 2/23 with my aunt. We asked for dip manicures and pedicures. We were told we couldn't have dip so we settled for gel. We asked to be kept together. We were told it would be a 20 minute wait. 20 minutes later they started my pedicure. 35 minutes later they started her pedicure. The girl who did mine was very nice but, they proceeded to separate us and I was done 45 minutes before my Aunt. Then the bill came. $160 (+ $32 in tips-cash only tips) for 2 "mid level" pedicures that were less than what a standard pedicure at any other salon in the area does for less (you have to pay extra for callous removal & there was no massage!). And 2 gel manicures that peeled in 3 days. All of my gel polish was lifted or peeling off by Wednesday, this has never happened to me. The girl working at reception was rude and dismissive. Went to Venetian for the first time as my normal nail places were booked. I definitely understand why Venetian had availability as I'm sure no one wants to go there! The staff were off putting and unfriendly. Multiple employees repeatedly asked me to pass information between the staff throughout my appointment rather than communicating directly. The technician who did my pedicure called his girlfriend a term which no one, let alone a man, should use to refer to a woman. As a woman (and human), I found these disparaging remarks from a stranger very uncomfortable. I also had a small cut on my toe prior to my appointment. I let him know this, and he told me he was worried he had done it and had tried to hide it, instead of being upfront with me about an injury he had potentially caused. My appointment was on a Friday evening. When I remarked that I was glad it was the weekend and I was done with work for the week, he seemed to take this personally and angrily replied that he works on weekends (as if this were my fault). The files he used had clearly been used many times before, and I felt uncomfortable with this lack of hygiene. In spite of these incidents, he was much more pleasant than my manicure technician. She complained about coworkers and other customers repeatedly. She also did not take my desires into consideration, stating that she couldn't accommodate what I wanted as my nails were too short. I have had nail art done at multiple other salons with my nails at the same length. When I asked for something specific within her limitations, she continued to do what she had planned rather than what I wanted. She also was snide when I politely asked for additional nail art (something I had requested at the beginning of the appointment which she disregarded). I apologized if it caused any inconvenience, but instead of reassuring me that it was okay, she confirmed that I was making her life more difficult, even though I paid an additional cost for this service. The technician's final nail art was quite different from the examples I showed her, however I ended up being pleased with the outcome. Unfortunately that did not last, as mere hours after my appointment, every nail had completely chipped. In her complaints about other customers, she seemed to paint them as difficult and at fault. She stated one client complained when her nail slightly chipped after nearly a whole week and a half. However I now wonder if this was the truth or if these clients also received low quality manicures which were ruined almost instantly and were reasonably upset, given the money they spent for this service. I will be calling tomorrow to inform the salon of this and rectify the situation. Hopefully their customer service after a failed appointment exceeds that which clients experience in the salon. Given how low the bar is, that shouldn't be a challenge. read more

If I could put 0 stars I would! I came in for a fill... and I got EXACTLY the opposite. My new fill already looks a week grown out, there is acrylic on my skin, the paint job is horrible and looks like a 3 year old did it. I had faith in my nail tech so I did not pay that much attention, until I got home and noticed how messy and unprofessional my 45$ "fill" was. BUT to top all of that, after I had called and complained the FIRST time, the nail tech went out of her way to write out an unprofessional rant that was clearly directed towards me or anyone that had anything to say about her work and then posted it on her social media. Stating this "person" was "stupid, ugly, and fake." Disrespecting a client on social media is the most unprofessional thing I have ever witnessed. I recommend to never go there! read more

I live in the area, the salon is easy to get to, it's clean and average price. Looks really nice inside and the atmosphere is decent. Sadly I have to give it a low rating for the EXTREME unprofessionalism I experience while there on 9/14/2013. The guy doing my pedicure was nice enough though he continued to ask me questions about a birthmark on my leg. I explained to him several times that it was just a mark and did not hurt or bother me. I became sensitive about it when he continued to ask about the birthmark. Then he poked at it and touched it. It was REALLY inappropriate. Then, he stood up, took his phone out of his pocket, and took a photo of my leg. HE TOOK A PHOTO. He did not back away to take it discretely, he didn't even bother to turn off the flash. I was mortified. I phoned the salon the same day for a manger and was told there wasn't one. I also emailed the chain headquarters with no response. I will never be returning to this nail salon. There are plenty of salons in the area (Revelations, Forbici, Anthony Vince, Charles Scott) where you could get a good pedicure and not be made to feel awkward. Beware! read more

This nail salon is a pretty, clean, sparkly place to relax. They have those "crystal waterfalls" I mentioned were lacking in my review of another nail salon. The pedicure chairs are reason alone to go. They play soothing classical music. The technicians address you by name and even pretend to really care about your day. They are skilled at what they do and they do it relatively quickly. Even when there has been a long line, the wait is never terrible. Just catch up on your US weekly and eavesdrop on the group of women getting ready for someone's rehearsal dinner. That'll make the time fly by! BONUS: they are open on Sundays! I like Venetian Nail Spa for a couple reasons. First and foremost, I never need an appointment. If I'm going with a small group (4 people, for example) I have called ahead to make sure we reserve enough pedicure chairs at a certain time - and they were indeed ready for us at that time (on a weekend). I don't think I've ever waited more than 10 minutes (without an appointment). And they are open on Sundays, which is awesome. A regular manicure is $20. A basic pedicure is about $32. Fancier pedicure with hot towel, leg massage is $40, I think. They also have a combo pedi/mani for a discount. While I think you can probably get these services for less $ elsewhere, I've never had a bad mani or pedi here and I've never had any problems with cuts or infections, etc. - nor have I known anyone else to have any of those problems. I've had manicures and pedicures at salons (for more $) and I think it's the same quality (or often better) than many of the salons I've been to. Venetian is consistent. I know what to expect and it's the same every time. You can also get acrylics and gel nails here. I saw someone's acrylics with fancy designs (with appliques) and they were no joke. That is some serious artistry, I swear to God. They also appear to offer massages, facials and waxing - although I've never seen these at this location. Some of the nail techs are super friendly, some aren't. As I am the WORST at small talk (and I can't hear very well) so I'm cool with not chatting much. I'd rather sit in silence and focus on trying not to feel guilty about being vain and wasting my money on a pedicure. :) This place looks nice. It's in a strip mall in Rocky River. They have about 15 nail stations and 12 (?) pedicure chairs. The place looks like it's trying to be fancy with waterfall cascades and the decor, but upon closer inspection it looks a little worn down and cheap. It's still solid though. I was visiting my girlfriend in Cleveland and desperately needed a new full set of acrylics, as I had broken four. I was very impressed by Venetian Nail Spa - it is NOT your typical storefront nail salon. Located in a new and nicely appointed shopping center just across the Lakewood/Rocky River line, this is a gorgeous salon for a storefront place. Clean with huge waterfall like sculptures inside the space, it's as relaxing as a storefront salon can be. Venetian has a full 10 pedicure chairs and on the Saturday I was first in, I believe that seven of them were in use. Clearly, the locals know where to go. My nail tech was friendly, efficient, and did my nails to perfection. I like them very thin and as natural looking as possible which is often hard to find in many places. My full set was $30 and it was the best set I've ever had. I believe a balance there runs between $20-25. There was more than enough room for me at the center drying station after my manicure was completed. They also run great mani/pedicure specials for those without acrylic nails. I will definitely be returning to this salon. I'm only upset there isn't one in Columbus where I live! read more

My gel polish peeled off after less than a week and I have to get it fixed at the salon I normally go to (which is ~$15 cheaper and the nails last up to three weeks). For presenting themselves as a high-status nail salon, the quality was poor. The nail techs seem to prefer chatting and gossiping with each other instead of focusing on doing a quality job. UPDATE: i contacted the salon and told them about my situation. they made an appointment for me to go back and redo my manicure even with a different color with no charge. they were welcoming and very helpful and understood my frustration. she redid my manicure and it looks great! i got my nails done here before i left for vacation. first off the color wasn't the one i picked but i didn't want to say anything. then while she was doing my nails she cut my cuticle on accident and it was bleeding throughout the manicure along with while i was paying. my gel manicure was not flat and had places on my nails where there was more nail polish and a bump from it. you can see the lines from the strokes of the brush. the nail polish is also past my nails and on the side. and the next day after i got them done 1 finger chipped and another finger also peeled off. even after cutting me she still charged me $50 w tip for a gel manicure. not pleased at all save your money. read more

The staff do not acknowledge you when you walk in. Had acrylic nails done suppose to be coffin shape. Nope they were square I explained to the tech 3 times and showed her pictures. I got the impression she didn't understand or know how to do this shape. Piece of advise if you don't know how to do a certain shape just be honest and let customer know. I wouldn't have been bothered to see another tech that knew how to do this shape. Also the cost here is on the high end for bad work. Myself and both of my daughters will not be returning here.
