2.5/5 overall rating. I was debating giving them a 2.5 and 3 stars but I decided on a 2.5 because customer service is at least good. I visited over a year ago in April 2023 and this review is being written in May 2024. CUSTOMER SERVICE -- In my experience, they have good customer service. I called last minute and I was able to get an appointment. NAILS -- There are a variety of styles and colours to choose from - you can keep your natural nails or add acrylic (fake) nails. I got acrylic nails for the first time with a pink gel polish. My actual nail service was a little rushed towards the end because I noticed that after the staff member was done, my cuticles or the skin around my nails were not smooth. There was still little bits of dry skin that could be cut or peeled off. The nail technician, a woman, didn't remove some of my dry skin around my nails. Granted, I could have said something to her afterwards but after already spending over 1 hour there, it was getting late at night and I needed to go back to my apartment. It was obvious to me though that the nail technician would know how to finalise a nail service. For such an expensive nail service, it would have been nice if they paid more attention to the little details. My cuticles and some dead skin were not done correctly. In addition, when I went back 2+ months later to have the nails removed, which I believe is free or $10, I noticed that my actual nails were brittle/soft/weak. It took over 4 months for my nails to feel strong again. A friend told me that the method that they used to remove the acrylic nails may have put too much pressure of on my actual nails and damaged them. I'm never getting acrylic nails and gel polish again whether here at Liz Nails or elsewhere. It works for some people but not for me. I had an appointment May 9th and received a Gel Pedicure and a regular manicure. Sadly, I was over-charged. The Pedi I received was 40.00 + 10.00 for the Gel. The regular manicure was 27.00 with no upcharges. When the tech came to me, she told me my balance was 89.00 and change (with calculator in hand) 40.00+10+27 = $77.00. She stated the difference was tax when I questioned the amount???? I didn't want to make a scene at the salon, but it's been bugging me all week! I gave her 100.00 - so her tip ended up being 23.00 (less the tax) She was good, but not that good. I was very disappointed and will not be returning. read more

Worst manicure I've ever paid money for. The gel manicure was $35 (typical) and although I really enjoyed chatting with my nail technician, the experience overall was not good. As I was getting my nails done, I was torn between the fact that I was having really fun and engaging conversations with my nail technician and the rough, sometimes painful manicure that I was being given. She was cutting off way too much 'dead skin' which left my fingers sore for days afterwards. The nail technician was not wearing gloves (hello, covid) and had dirty fingernails. When the manicure was done, my nail polish was super thick and bumpy. Within an hour of getting it done, two big chunks had completely broken off. Within a week, almost every nail was chipping because the big chunks were coming off. I'll definitely never return. read more

As you can see from the second photo, my nails done at Liz Nails were atrocious! I cried cause they were so bad. I ended up going to Allure beauty on Ridge Road. Johanna fixed my nails up so nice and she did them CORRECTLY. They look so much better than what was on my nails before. First, everyone at this salon should learn great customer service. I understand this is a job and people have rough days, but time and time again employees have had a short tone with me. My last and final visit was 2 days ago when I brought in a reference photo. CLEANLINESS: 0/10 I noticed that the tools weren't properly cleaned and the man doing my nails was using HIS DIRTY NAILS to push MY cuticles back. I also noticed that the owner wasn't using the AC so the employees were dripping in sweat! I told him to take a break and wipe his face cause drops of SWEAT were getting on my hands! disgusting. SKILL&QUALITY: 4/10. I asked for red tapered square acrylics with minimal nail art, which consists of two DEEP french tips and swirl affect on ring fingers. Even if I got no nail art, the nails were poorly shaped, like duck bills. The nail polish wasn't even applied properly, i could see the lines. THE SHAPE WAS WAY TOO WIDE FOR MY FINGERS!!! The acrylic was bumpy. The nail art was so messy and they don't know how to do french tips! they literally paint across your bottom nail with polish and use a brush with nail polish remover to scrape it off. As you can see in the picture, he didn't put a base coat or anything before the nail art was applied. so it was just transparent. read more

I have been going to Liz Nails for a little over a year now for my fingernails and I couldn't be happier. I initially was getting gel manicures before switching to dip polish. My dip polish will last longer than 3 weeks. I have always had outstanding service at Liz Nails. For dip manicures, I highly recommend Lee (at 3). Recently I went to Thao as Lee's hours had changed and I left just as happy. Prices are equivalent to the rest of NEO for dip manicures. read more

Terrible experience! The tech, Rose, rushed my nails! She cut the sides of my nails so they were super thin, basically painted my fingers, and shaped them on a slant. I think the entire appointment took less than 20 minutes. I've been trying to grow my nails out and now I have to start all over. I could have done a better job at home. I'm pleased with my pedicure but have 2 concerns: When I went to put my foot in the water I immediately pulled it out because the water was burning hot. (I love hot water). The person taking care of me went to push my foot back in the water but stopped when I said it was too hot. No apology. Then she began working on my feet but took a call and spent the entire time on the phone. She spoke in a soft, low voice but it was still annoying and very unprofessional. I am not one to leave reviews bc I can deal with a lot, but I had a terrible experience here. My nail technician did a very rushed and messy job, my nails were clumpy, uneven, and already denting by the time I left bc the dip was applied so thick. I asked him while he was doing them, to please fix them and file them and he didn't, And I had to ask three separate times. Whatever, I know people make mistakes but he was clearly rushing and not paying attention at all. Meanwhile the owner was sitting next to us at his station, and he proceeded to tell me (not ask me, tell me) to pay before my nails were even done. I asked him why and he got very rude with me and said, "I said we are checking you out now." Without much of a choice I took out my card and tipped generously because at this point my nail tech had not finished so I thought maybe they would end up ok. Both the nail tech and owner were so rude and careless, but most of all, so pushy to get me to pay. They also didn't apologize once for the nails being a disaster. Side note, this place is insanely expensive with a dip manicure costing $70 dollars and the tech didn't even do my cuticles or the actual manicure part. I called once I got home to see if I could get a voucher or some sort of compensation considering I verbalized my issue several times in person, and they said the only thing they'll do is re-do my nails, which isn't great because I have someone at a different place I normally go to but she was sick. He was rude on the phone as well and overall this was the worst nail salon experience I've ever encountered and again, I'm extremely laid back and have been getting my nails done for a decade. Don't come here, they do not do a good job and they're rude, pushy, and make you pay before the service is even complete to ensure a higher tip, I'm guessing. save your money! read more

All the girls in there were very nice and worked very hard to get everyone done timely because it was moderately busy. I've had really good experience with some nail technician ladies here and I walked in at 6:55pm for a signature pedi, I didn't say anything when a male technician was assigned to me. I just thought they were all at the same professional level. But I was wrong. I was seated and soaking my feet when being told they close at 7:30pm. Everything was done in such a rush. Not only the polish not dry completely but it was very uneven, and cuticles not completely fixed (I only noticed it when I got home). I don't often pay to get my nails done, because personally I think it's an expensive amenity in life. I'll splurge on special occasions or when I really need a good pedicure. I heard from a friend that they take walk-ins (a bonus for last minute decisions) and I was happy that my wait time was only 20 minutes. I was here on a Thursday evening and there were a ton of people. To me that is a good sign that people really like a place. Since I don't get my nails done regularly, I had no idea which polishes I could or could not pick from (there are SO many) and unfortunately found out I picked a polish we couldn't use on my toes after my pedicure had begun. So with damp feet I had to hobble along the tile floor in the foam sandals they give you to pick from the section that is "basic" polish. The price of the pedicure and the time they spent on me was worth it at this shop. They stay pretty basic here with the pedicures and that's probably how they can crank out so many customers. read more

I've tried it 3 times now and kept hoping it would get better and it hasn't. I've been in when it's slow, busy and extremely busy. They make you feel like you are just a number and push you out of the pedicure chair. I understand it's not meant to be a full spa salon but when I buy the most expensive pedicure I don't expect to be done in 30 minutes. I can buy the cheapest and the most expensive and every time it's pretty much the same. My polish never lasts as long as it does in other salons even though it's always OPI polish. My friend had a cut on her cuticle on her toes as well once after they were done. I don't usually leave bad reviews but I'm hoping I save someone else from spending their money here, or that the management uses this to help better the customer experience. read more

Very first visit review! First of all, appointments don't matter here- It's first come first serve and don't let them let you think otherwise. Secondly I'd suggest not letting Rose do your pedicure. She is very rough and sloppy and did a less than adequate job with the nail polish. She makes excuses for her sloppy work by telling you she can't remove all the paint she left around the nail because it will remove paint from the nail itself. Well how about you don't get nail polish all over the place to begin with Rose??! I feel a little terrible because she's obviously been doing this for many, many, years and I can see she is just over it. My job here is to give you a warning of what the outcome is going to be if she does your pedicure. I tipped her well because this job is hard and I wouldn't want it, but I do hope this woman can retire very soon. If I wanted a shitty nail polish job I could've easily done that myself and saved $32 plus a $10 tip. read more

Just horrible. I left in tears. My pedicure was rushed through. Nail polish on the sides. Not cleaned properly. Then I got a full set of acrylic. The nails look very thick and cuticles not cleaned at all. When I asked them to clean the cuticles they said I needed to pay for a manicure and a full set in order for it to look good. I have been getting my nails done for years, I had never heard that. There is hard acrylic stick all over and they seemed to think this is fine. I asked to speak to a manager and she didn't seem to care either. I will not be going back. They were very busy so they just wanted to get me out of there I guess. read more

Horrible...went for a pedicure today and the lady was so rough and kept telling me to relax...it was the worst pedicare i have received. The water was too hot and when I asked her to add cooler water because it was burning my feet, she looked at me like I was crazy...it was all downhill from there. I felt the tech was very rough and she even asked if I was ok a couple of times, I should have just told her I was done and got up and left. I wish I got her name, she is short and seated at the 2nd station in the back on the right hand side of the building. My feet hurt I keep putting vaseline and cream on them. I was cut on my big toe and the tech must have lectured me for 5 minutes because i selected the cheapest pedicure and really needed a complete more expensive service in her opinion...worst experience ever and will not be back. read more

Gave this place a second chance and was devastatingly let down. My spa pedicure was sloppy. I had mentioned to the nail tech that I wanted my nails trimmed and she barely filed them. She carelessly trimmed my cuticles and rushed the overall service. The paint job was underwhelming and she blamed it on the color I choose, white. Which is a popular summer color that I'm sure a lot of customers get. To top it off she was rude and abrasive and criticized my feet. Will not be back and will not recommend to friends. read more

So on a Saturday (6/13/2020) during COVID-19, I called around 2:45pm to see if there was a chance they would be able to fit in two pedicures for my boyfriend and I and my surprise they said come at 4pm with masks and they could get us in. We got there a few minutes before our appointment, I picked a color for my toes while they set up the our stations and that were ready for us. They techs were very nice, not too much conversation which is okay with me because I use it as quiet time to relax. They had different options ranging from $31 to $45 I believe was the most expensive. The techs did great work and were very efficient. I ended up getting a gel polish on my toes instead of a regular polish which was $20 more, but hey I prefer gel because it dries quicker and last longer! The salon was very clean and well ran. I have been coming to Liz nails for over 10 years now, sent numerous friends and family members who now frequent the place weekly. Used to get quality pedicure and manicure and now it's horrible. Chips after a couple of days and doesn't hold up. Today I was sitting waiting with 2 other women for 20 minutes, the two women got frustrated on how long it took and got up to leave. Hopeful, I continued to stay and wait for service. As I'm waiting the owner gets a phone call for two pedicures and schedules them right away. The foot massage I received was so awful I truly feel bad for her husband.
