I am posting this review a full year after my nails were ruined here 2 days before my wedding day. At the time, I was too distraught and busy with planning to take the time to write this review, but after a full year I still can't wrap my head around this experience and want to warn people away from this salon. I had heard great things about this salon! While I can't speak to the experience of getting your hair done here, I can speak to the nail experience and the lack of customer service following errors. My mom surprised me with a wonderful spa day 2 days before my wedding. I was so excited to spend the day with her. We had booked a mini facial, massage, and nails. The day was several hours long and a lunch was supposed to be included, but the day-of we find out that it's not and that our package had transferred from the previous salon/spa. So a lot of this experience is exacerbated by the fact that we were completely starving -- we got there around 9:30/10am and I didn't get home until 3pm, so not having a lunch was very unexpected. But I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and also understand that they were doing their best. The massage and facial were both fine. The really negative experience was my nails. Please look at these photos. These were taken as soon as I got home and is how I left the salon -- breaks and uneven nails and all. I've never in my life had a manicure so unbelievably and laughably bad, and the staff knew that these were my wedding nails. I did not ask for anything out of the ordinary -- just a standard gel mani with a French tip. Of course with my nails completely destroyed 2 days before my wedding, I left afterwards and had to fix them myself, because I couldn't get in anywhere else on such short notice and my weekend was obviously already pretty booked. Now, my mom gave her card info in advance for the package. Since it was already a pretty high stress situation and we had a lot of other planning details to attend to, my mom called a few days later after the wedding to tell them about the negative experience. Oh, I also forgot to mention that they charged us MORE than the originally agreed upon package price, despite not including lunch and completely botching my nails. So my mom calls and asks for at least a partial refund for my nails. They outright refuse. Please please please do NOT get your nails done here. Every nail tech I have shown these photos to has been completely aghast at how horrible these look. I could have done (and did end up having to do) better myself. read more

Soo, I ended up getting a super good deal on a Groupon for this Spa. I got a collagen facial. Scheduling was so easy here, they had availability, which is like non-existent these days. I was here years ago for a facial and loved it then as well. I walked in and the Spa is so large, it's kind of surprising at first. Parking is meh but it's Lakewood and that's the deal, I parked on a side street and put money in the meter because it was midday. I got a facial with Jimmy, he was welcoming and kept checking in with me to make sure all the products felt okay. He explained each mask and what was in it and asked about allergies, etc. When I did my yoga teacher training my teacher was huge on teaching us trauma competency (aka respecting someone's space, letting them know and have choices in the surrounding environment) and I felt like Jimmy did this like a pro, which is super useful at a spa, a lot of times people don't know what the experience will be like or what to expect, etc. I was very comfortable the entire time but Jimmy went out of his way to make sure of that and that is much appreciated. I felt like I got a steal too. Yea I got a facial and it all felt amazing but while the masks were setting on my face, I got a massage too! I felt like half of the facial time was also a massage. I was hesitant to write this review - and mostly because I had been reading reviews before my appointment at this salon and found that the manager sometimes responds to negative reviews. And not necessarily in the "I'm so sorry you had a bad experience kind of way." So I'm going to try to be as objective as possible. However, I have to admit I went into my appointment with some nerves. I have been to Revelations before, maybe 9 years ago? I used to get my hair cut here and don't remember why I stopped. I'm pretty sure I also had a massage once. It must not have been memorable. Anyway, my husband purchased a gift certificate from their Valentines Day menu - "Treats for my Sweet" which included a chair massage, manicure and arm massage. I scheduled my appointment a few days in advance and found no problems getting an appointment in the evening. I booked my appointment for 5:30pm & confirmed that it was an hour time slot - giving me enough time to be home with my nursing baby before bedtime. The day of the appointment I called again to confirm and confirm the appointment would be one hour - since I didn't receive any reminder call or e-mail from the salon. I actually arrived at the salon a little early - probably around 5:15pm so I could settle in and take a breathe before my appointment. Did I mention I have a baby? Appointments like this are a real luxury and I look forward to carving out a little "me time". It doesn't happen with regularity. When I arrived I realized I had forgotten the gift certificate & was told it was fine, they had the information in their computer. They asked me to mail it to them. No problem, I said. They have a little station with coffee & tea - and a sign indicating you can help yourself. I got some tea and sat down in the waiting area facing the receptionist. I drank tea and read yelp reviews (and manager responses...). Five minutes after my appointment was supposed to begin, no one was in site. It was a quiet weekday evening and there weren't a lot of staff or clients. I walked around and looked at the boutique area & scoped out where my manicure would happen. At 5:40 the receptionist was back at the desk and I confirmed with her that I was in fact waiting in the right area - it's kind of a big salon and there are a few seated areas. She apologized and said they were running a little behind. She said they were short staffed. A few minutes later the manager came over and also apologized. She explained that my nail tech was working with a teenager who wanted nail art and it was taking longer than expected. She said she would be helping him finish that manicure & he would be right with me. At 6:05pm my nail tech came out from the spa and introduced himself quickly. I followed him into the spa area. As soon as we walked through the door the chair massage area was there and I was encouraged to sit my purse on a table. He asked if I've had any recent surgeries and then went straight to work. The pressure was perfect- but he was rushed. I could tell he was frazzled from running behind and going from one client to the next without much of a breathe in between. I realized as he was massaging that maybe I should have let me hair down? And I wasn't even sure how long the massage was supposed to be? Since my appointment was supposed to be an hour and that included a manicure I guessed maybe 15 minutes? He stopped twice, I'm assuming to check the time. I haven't really had a chair massage but he focused on my shoulders, back, low back and my neck - seemingly moving from one area of my body to the next without much flow. The pressure was great but I kind of wish a head, arm and hand massage was included. When it was done we moved quickly through the back hallway to the nail salon area. My nail tech had calmed a bit by then. I chose a color, sat down and he went right to work. He was a really nice guy. I could tell he was having a rough night and he still went out of his way to do a good job - but he was running way behind. There was a woman sitting with her feet soaking, waiting on him when we started my manicure. He checked with me every step of the way to make sure I was happy with everything and when I didn't really like the color I chose he was perfectly cool with me choosing another. He offered to get me a beverage several times. He tried to engage me in conversation, but really didn't attempt eye contact. He did a pretty nice job on my manicure. When it was over he apologized and said he needed to move to his next client- and that he would check on me. I sat and relaxed at his desk while my nails dried. After about 10 minutes I wasn't tacky and I popped around the corner and let him know I was leaving. He thanked me for being so understanding. I left the salon at 7:30pm - 2 hours after my appointment should have started. I missed bedtime - which was okay, but not my original plan. I was happy with my manicure, but it wasn't the relaxing "spa" experience I had anticipated. read more

I liked this salon it was my first time here. I must say my hair dresser wasn't very social at all. Must if the time I just sat there, she didn't say much, when someone is doing my hair I would like to talk to them to feel them out. Unfortunately I ended up with one that didn't say almost anything not even make me understand the process I'm having done to my hair. I would come back but to a different hair dresser. read more

I grew up with a family in the business of salons and spas and was curious how I would receive an experience as a regular customer coming in for a haircut at a new place I've never been to before. As I noticed prior to coming the reviews were mixed, so I was prepared for anything. There's a parking lot in the back which was convenient and as I entered it had a quiet, tranquil vibe. The receptionist checked me in and let me know my stylist would be with me shortly. Reflecting on the transitions my aunts spa went through and the hospitality training we implemented, I would recommend that the experience of first arriving and checking in could be enhanced. For example, offering a beverage at this point would make sense while I wait, also finding out if I am a first time guest, if so offering me information and maybe a tour of the salon so I have awareness what else I can possibly return for in the future. My stylist came to greet me right on time for our appointment and took me directly to station for washing hair. I'm typically used to a consultation briefly before to get an idea what I'm looking to get done with my hair. I knew I just needed a simple trim so I figured it's all good. The stylist was very friendly and personable. She guided me to her chair for the cut and showed me how much we would cut off to get to the healthy hair and I concurred. She decided it best to dry my hair and do a dry cut. She was quick and did a nice job. I see a lot of potential in this place, just needs some tweaks in hospitality and customer retention to have me wanting to come back. It was a good experience and pricing is competitive and fair. I was able to use a spa finder gift card which was a plus since many salons don't take them. Hair feels soft and fresh and smells good too. read more

Loved getting my facial from Pam! She was so amazing and so thorough through out my time there. I definitely recommend coming here and trying their hour long facial. They have been in business for 25 years and the space is huge. My skin felt so soft and clean when I got done. I love that you get to lay down like you're going to get a full body massage because it's very relaxing and they have soft music playing in the background to help you rest and relax. Pam even did a hand and arm massage while the mask was on my face. Their prices are very reasonable and I was able to get in for an appointment within just a couple of days. My sister-in-law recommended coming here and I'm so glad she did, I will be coming for regular facials for sure! read more

I wanted to find a new place to get pedicures for next summer. I went on Groupon to see if there were any mani/pedi deals. I found Revelations and thought I'd give it a try since it's right around the corner from my apartment. At first I was having a good time. I thought the pedicure stations were pretty cool and the rest of the place looked modern. The pedicure stations were nice until I realized how inconvenient they were to climb into, and the bowls are quite shallow. I will not name who did my mani/pedi because they were very nice and apologetic. But anyways, the nail tech painted my first toe and asked me if I liked the color and if I wanted to change it. I said it didn't look the same on the nail as it did in the bottle and that yes I wanted to change it. I was really appreciative of that. As soon as the nail tech started painting my toes, they got the red polish on my skin. It ended up staining a large portion of skin by my toe nail (you can see in the pics). They tried multiple times to get it off my skin but it wasn't really doing anything. Next we moved onto the mani. Everything was fine until I was cut from the cuticle trimmer. First they put on some green liquid to make the bleeding stop. That didn't work. They had me wash my hands, which stopped the bleeding and everything was fine again... until I sat back down. The nail tech started cutting right where I was bleeding... AGAIN. It hurt so bad and I started bleeding even more this time. It wouldn't stop. They put on the green liquid again. That didn't work, so something that stung badly was put on next. That didn't work either, so oil was put on. That didn't work, so MORE green stuff was put on. I was confused why they kept putting chemicals all over my cut. I stopped them and said I was going to wash my hands again because it hurt so bad. Finally they started painting. At first that was fine until after the first coat. They started jumping from one nail to another with either paint or clear coat. We agreed to paint my injured finger last, but that didn't have anything to do with why they started jumping around. It was slightly odd, but notable. My mani looked okay while I was inside and while it was still tacky. But after it completely dried (which took longer than usual because the coats were so thick) it was so bubbly and uneven (see attached photo). The photo of my mani was taken 4 hours after I left the spa. The pedi photo was taken in my car as soon as I left. The photo of my bleeding finger was taken in the bathroom after the second time I started bleeding. The nail tech was very apologetic about cutting me and in general was very nice, so I was nice about it and still tipped well. So I'm not even sure if they know they did a bad job (minus the cut). This is when I got pretty mad... When it came time to check out, the girl at the counter didn't know I had a Groupon and said that my mani/pedi was going to be $59.... on Groupon the service was valued at $80 and the Groupon price was $55 (I had a random 20% off coupon code so thankfully I only paid $44). So this whole time I thought I was getting a good deal and it was actually only $4 more than the Groupon price... (I posted a screenshot of my Groupon receipt) THEN I said I had a Groupon and gave the girl my code for it. After she typed it in she said "okay it's going to be $4.60 for tax"..... I've never had to pay tax for anything after using a Groupon. I've had services done similar to this and never once had to pay more money after using the Groupon. I was really thrown off by it. I just handed them a $20 bill and said to use the rest of the tip and left. Oh, and by the time I left, I was there for two and a half hours..... I only waited about 2 minutes for my nail tech when I first got inside... I'm so confused why it took so long. Usually it only takes an hour and a half to do a mani/pedi. Also, after reading most of the reviews on here and seeing how the manager has been replying to all the negative ones... I am absolutely disgusted. She is lashing out at reviewers and blaming them for their terrible service. I work in customer service and would NEVER treat any clients like this, even if they pissed me off. She even had the audacity to cancel someone's gift certificate she sent them for bad service because they left the salon a negative review. That's just terrible management. She is only embarrassing herself and her team. I definitely won't be back. read more

I came in for an hour massage and pedicure. My first impression was the spa was nice and clean, but the services were lacking. The pedicure was ok. I was overall happy with it. However, the massage was uninspired and I'm not sure I would go back. I had a 12:30 appointment. I didn't get called back until 10 minutes past that time. I assumed most hour massages last 50 minutes since they give time to change. I should have been in there til at least 1:30. The massage ended at 1:20. I ended up paying for an hour and getting 40 minutes massage time. Less actually, since the masseuse stepped out for almost 5 minutes in the middle of the service so I could "roll from my stomach to my back." The pressure was also sad. It was less of a massage and more like someone just rubbing lotion on my body. read more

I had asked for suggestions for a moisturizer at the beginning and she never gave me any, just didn't really feel much of a positive customer service experience here. I have been going to revelations for years I keep coming back to see Doinga for my facials. 2 days post facial my face is still soft and supple feels a 100% better than when I came in. I am always greeted warmly the area where your facials are performed is quiet and serene. My facial always includes hand arm neck massage and the best part scalp massage. As much as I want to talk to Doinga, she knows the facial is a relaxing experience and keeps small talk very small. She is the best!! read more

I have been going here for years getting my hair cut from long to short to really short with the same stylist. I also find groupons for massages and other spa needs - they usually do this to get the new guys some work. I went in for a cut, massage and eyebrow wax. Everything came out perfect and I felt amazing and everyone started on time, limited waiting time for me. They always office me something to drink. Need a fabulous nail person? Few things are better than a pampering pedicure or a pretty manicure. Think about it, don't you find yourself looking at your nails when they've had a fresh coat of color? Although there are tons of nail shops I've struggled to find a place with a person who is both a perfectionist and artist. Last year I went to Revelations to see Ciara Blair and she is just the best. Giving a great manicure or pedicure is an art. Sure, anyone can paint your nails but someone who is able to care for your nails, your cuticles and paint them with precision is rare. Trust me, rare. Ciara is very professional, detail oriented and has a great spirit about her. She does exclusively nails and is exacting in her work so you won't be walking out with anything less than a perfect manicure or pedicure. Is it terrible to admit I didn't write a glowing review until now because I didn't want it to be harder to schedule an appointment? I know, I know but she was only in 2 evenings a week. But hallelujah, she's now full-time! So if you are the search for a great manicure or pedicure for a special event or if you are looking for a person to do your nails every week then your search is over. Ciara Blair is the best. Amazing amazing amazing!! I've had a few facials done here and they absolutely do not underdeliver. Some salons/spas will under treat you if you have a coupon or in my case.. a Groupon. Not revelations! They give you such a high quality service for a very reasonable price. Today we went for a couples massage and just like the facials.. 10/10 service. Best massage I've ever had. I must say, the customer service and positive attitude, by all of those we came into contact with while there was impressive! The prices were reasonable, and our services were good. Went for a spa pedicure with Rachel. She was top-notch! Very sweet and absolutely adorable- she did a great job. The pedicure was nice. Water was the perfect temperature- hot, but not scalding. The polish job was neat, precise, and very clean. I chose a new color from the James Bond OPI line called "You Only Live Twice". It is a festive, sparkly, pink/red color. Love it. The only reason I wouldn't give this venue five stars is because the pedicure seating wasn't that comfortable. It is bench style seating, so there is no recline. Also- I like the spas that use razors to scrape the dead skin off your feet. Most places don't do this though- I think it might be reserved for Chinatown only, or it might be illegal to use razors on flesh, or something.....but I like the salons that do take that risk. Risks should always be taken. After all, you do indeed only live twice. read more

She went above and beyond for a great job well done! Loved everything about Revelations, and can't wait to go back! 01/2016 update= I had to go back for a redo since the first girl, name starts with letter F, did not smooth the calusous off the bottom of my feet nor paint anywhere near acceptable. I left with rough skin and a paint job that's comparible to a 10 year old. I give big ups to Jessica who actually did a great job fixing the mistakes of the other! DO NOT go here! Pedicure was polish removal, feet in cold water and filed toe nails. The rooms are outdated. Massage I made it clear I needed upper body. Didn't do this. The bed and room were cold and bright. She used a ton of oil, no pressure, her body kept rubbing my head and the face cradle had an abrasive old rag. Left with NO polish on toes and did my own fingers. My hair was dripping in oil. Was told I would not be charged by Frankie. I WAS charged. Was told the owner, Mary will reach out in 3 days! Customer service is absolutely terrible. I do not blame the staff at all they are only doing what the owner dictates. There is major potential for the staff but not under current owner. This place needs sold and revamped under new management. Owner IS nasty! 0 stars! Like any business, this place has its pros and cons. I've been here quite a few times and every experience I've have was different. Pros - The place is huge. They frequently have specials going on for their massages, facials, manis/pedis. If you're looking for a last minute appointment, they do their best to fit you in. They have a huge selection of hair and skincare products for purchase. Every time I go for a massage or a facial, I leave with samples of skincare products to take home which makes the results last longer. I love that. Cons - Little to no parking. Their computer system is always slow which makes checking-out annoying. The high-school aged employees aren't helpful. Make sure you know what (or who) you're paying for because prices vary between the different stylists. Overall, I would recommend this place ONLY because I think you get your money's worth. read more

I was hesitant about going here for a pedicure. I had a mediocre massage here a few years ago and I've heard not-so-good things about Revelations from others. Unfortunately, I had to learn the hard way. I will start with the positives: I was given almost the full hour so I didn't feel rushed. She didn't talk my ear off so I could actually just relax. And she did a nice leg massage. Staff were friendly. Now for the negatives... This is the worst salon pedicure I've ever gotten. The polish job looks uneven. I am used to leaving a pedicure with that lovely shiny and smooth polish on my toes. The base coat she put must've made it uneven. The set up is not as comfortable. Instead of the comfy chairs with the foot bath, they have you sit on a pillow that's propped on the wall with a mosaic bowl for your feet. It was comfortable enough - even included a back massager. But no bubbles? I guess I'm glad I just bought my own foot spa and can use my bath and body works fizzies for nice bubble bath. Oh, and it was marketed as an aromatherapy pedicure and there was not a single fragrant oil or lotion. I felt like a diva until this happened - she made me bleed and was very rough when filing my toes! It was painful and while I appreciate her telling me she gave me a cut and applying alcohol, it just made the rest of the experience uncomfortable. I was counting the minutes til I could get out of there! I had picked Revelations because I was going to be in the area, but I've learned my lesson - I'll stick with my trustworthy salons and just pay the few extra dollars. read more

It really breaks my heart to have to write this review, but people need to know. I was given a gift certificate to this place for my birthday which included a 30 min facial, mani & pedi (Serenity Package). Being fairly new to the Cleveland area I was excited to find a place which I had hoped to become a regular to. I'm going to break this down into parts. Facial There isn't too much to say about this. It was nice. Emily that tool care of me was pleasent. The facial also included a neck/arm massage. She applied the right pressure and was always gentle on my face. Nothing spectacular stood out. Overall a decent facial, but if I personally had to pay -- I'd search for better. Pedi The layout was unique in this building. I did like the feel of the place. I won't name names here just because this is where it all started to go down hill. My toe nails were cut down to the skin. After cutting she then asked me if the length was okay. Normally they ask if you even want them trimmed, but she went ahead and decided that for me. She did do a good job with the application of the polish on my feet. The scub went up mid calf, if that. Not sure if that is a policy they have or what, but was disappointed in that. Other places I have gone go right below the knee or close to it. Mani The morning of the appointment I called to see if I could get gel polish and that I would be more than happy to pay for the upcharge. The lady on the phone said that would be fine and she would make a note of it in my account. When it came to walking over to the nail table I asked the lady who was doing my nails if she had been made aware that I was getting gel. She said no, but then continued to mention that she did find it odd that my mani had been slotted out for a longer period of time (this here shows me lack of communication within the business). She quickly set up what needed to be for gel. I picked out my color and we got started. There was no pre-soak treatment to soften my cuticles or any sort of lotion to make cutting them easier. She went straight for it causing a lot of bleeding. After getting the bleeding under control she then started to prep and paint. Everything seemed okay paint wise until she put on the top coat and didn't clean the parts that got on to my skin. This caused instant peeling. I noticed this as I was rechecking my hands at the checkout and asked if it was okay I go back to have her fix them (3 of them to be exact). I went back and told/showed her the issue. She initially tried to blame it on my nail. Said "honey, that's your nail." I did my best to be nice, but I said if that was my nail it wouldn't be peeling like that. She tried to file it down (which I knew wasn't going to work), but that did nothing. Then she said, well maybe the polish was bad or you didn't let them cure enough. I told her I put them in when she told me to and then removed when the timer dinged just like she had asked. She then suggested that she could redo them if I wanted. I asked that she redo them. She did the foil technique to get the gel off along with placing my hands in warmers (this quickens the removal process). Then she buffed them which caused my already cut cuticles to bleed again. She asked a fellow associate to help her paint to quicken the process. When the fellow associate saw that I was bleeding she asked if I wanted liquid bandage (why wasn't this offered to me thr first time??). I said yes please in a heart beat. They ended up redoing the nails and still some of it looks questionable. I do appreciate the two ladies staying after close, but if it was done right the first time I would have been out there way ahead of closing time. All in all -- I wanted to love this place, but it's a no-go. My appointment was at 5pm which I arrived for at 4:50pm and didn't leave the place until 9pm (1 hr after closing). To spend 4 hours for a 30 mins facial, mani & pedi seems absurd to me. Maybe they cut hair better; I'm not sure, but I will not be taking that chance with them. read more

Unfortunately I did not have a good experience here at all. I made an appointment to have my hair done for a wedding. I told the hair stylist my hair was very prone to frizz due to it being naturally curly. I specifically advised a hot tool has to be used on each section of my hair in order to get a style that will stay. I came in with Blow drier straight hair and reminder her either a curling iron or a straightening iron has to be used on each strand or I will end the night with a fro. She did not take my advice and instead opted for loads of product. I was pleased the the beachy waves she was able to provide was not confident in their staying power. Sure enough I walked outside, got in the car, and drive home to get dressed. Upon getting home I saw the horror that was a ratted fro on the top with pin curls at the tips. I had to re-wash, blow dry, and straightened my tresses into their typical poker straight bland coiffe and go to a very formal wedding looking ordinary. So I spent the $ on a professional do and inevitably had to fix it myself. read more

Was a long-time customer of this establishment, but very disappointed with my most recent customer service. Unfortunately, I'll be going elsewhere. I need to be able to trust where I am going and know that the establishment is trustworthy and honest. Unfortunately, Revelations is not that place to me anymore. read more

Wow! I am floored at the service at the front desk......come in for a gift certificate because unfortunately that is where my mother likes to go and talk about RUDE! It's my 500th review, folks. Can you believe it? Where has the time (and money) gone? Well, in this case I'm looking at it. My toes and fingers haven't looked this good in quite a while so this review is dedicated to Revelations Salon & Spa in Lakewood, Ohio (and to a lesser extent, Groupon). I live in Lakewood and work in Mentor. This creates problems when trying to get things done during normal business hours when the business is 35 miles away and has almost the same exact hours of operations that my job does. Groupon wasn't willing to reimburse me so I had to leave work early to make this appointment. I would have actually saved more money by just eating the Groupon but why would I do that when there's so many Opi colors to choose from and some janky cuticles that need fixing? [I believe her name is] Ruthie was so very sweet. I arrived 15 minutes late due to traffic but she whisked me in and got me started. The water in the beautiful basin was tepid which wasn't ideal, but I was so glad to be out of rush hour I didn't dare complain. She got to work and we chatted about life then as soon as she was done with my toes I hobbled over to the manicure station. The wheeled chair on a bare floor is a bad call, folks. It forces the recipient into a posture of tension in order to keep the chair from rolling around (not relaxing). The soak water, tepid again. Nonetheless, Ruthie did such a great job on my nails and the Opi Germany Collection color we used ushered them into early fall perfectly. I would not say the services were worthy of a full priced "Mango Spa mani-pedi" ($70) but I really did enjoy my time at Revelations and will return for a regular manicure ($17), and I don't need a Groupon to do it. read more

Let's preface this with, I have curly hair. THICK, CURLY, CURLY hair. I have walked into many a salon, been fed the "I can handle it" line, and cried my way home all too often. So, naturally, I was a little nervous upon snagging the last available appointment on a Friday at Revelations in Lakewood. I must have serious karma points racked up with the hair gods. My stylist was Rachel. She walked up to get me from the wide-open waiting room with some serious spunk then sat me down at her station to hatch some hair plans. She was completely excited to cut my hair and really took the time to talk through EXACTLY what look I was going for. I left pleased as punch. Rachel is a total sweetheart and bad ass with her styling shears. CURLY HEADS REJOICE! read more

DO NOT GET A FRENCH MANICURE HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO COMMIT A HUGE FASHION SIN!! What constitutes a "huge fashion sin" in the world of french manicures? Umm..how about thick, crooked white tips with blurry lines that fade into the pink portion of your nail (not crisp AT ALL) and looks like a 5-year old kid decided to play with mommy's cosmetics?? Yeap. That's what happened. Okay - you're probably thinking to yourself, "if you didn't like it, you should have just told them so they could fix it until they got it right". Hold on, girlfriend. I sure did - for the first 15 minutes of the manicure...but there comes a point during the manicure process where you realize that - hey - this aesthetician is just not getting it and you're better off just painfully going through it. Gahhh. To clarify - i'm not even one of those picky, prissy girls who insists everything has to be perfect, but let's just say that this french manicure was a major FAIL. Even my boyfriend who doesn't notice stuff like when I get haircuts took note that my nails were a hot mess....that's when you know it's bad!!! I haven't used the other services at Revelations, so I can't comment on that, but I can definitely tell you that their french manicures suck. I even got it in shellac/gel, so I can't even remove it myself!!! DON'T DO IT. Or if you want to do it and have fugly nails, be my guest. read more

I visit spas once a month and get my toes done every two weeks. I also get my nails done once a week. I am experienced in spotting quality spa work. I bought a groupon for facial, pedi, mani and massage. After reading all the wonderful reviews I was extremely looking forward to this visit. Went yesterday. Massage was great. Facial mediocre at best. (Don't call something a facial when you don't ask skin type questions or analyze the skin under the light.) The manicure and pedicure were a nightmare. They clipped the toes on my left nail much lower than right. So now my toes were uneven. Polish application had to be redone 3 time due to thick polish and bad application technique. On the plus side, everyone is very nice and helpful. And it is a very lovely establishment. The coffee and tea service are cosiderate and immaculate. However, the spa services not worth it at groupon rate. Much less at full price. read more
