First time hair coloring appointment! I went for the first time back in July and had a wonderful experience. I just went back for touch-ups and a highlight and couldn't be happier with the experience! The place is taking covid precautions very seriously, with temperature checks for clients and stylists. Both my stylists were so kind in explaining what the options were to achieve the results I wanted (natural looking lightening) and my hair has never looked better! They took the time to curl and style afterwards and are such friendly people. I also scheduled a facial and eyebrow wax with Lauren- amazing!!! My boyfriend has never noticed my eyebrows before but even he noticed how fabulous they looked! I have very sensitive skin and tend to burn in that area. Lauren discussed that with me and made sure my skin wasn't irritated at all. 100/10 I love this place. read more

Mini facials & arm massages don't typically come standard with a regular hair cut, but Light Salon pampers their customers. I've been coming here for years. Every stylist I've tried has been fabulous and friendly. I also love the Aveda tea they offer to sip on while you wait or while you're getting you're hair cut - it's so calming. I just leave the salon feeling soooothed and glamorous! During my last visit I was slightly disappointment; when I checked in there, the salon did NOT honor the 10% off voucher offered on Yelp! Do not go to light salon and spa in Avon !!!! My son went for a trim and she cut his hair super short!!! He told the girl trim the sides and back leave them front......'she cut the front!!!! He was growing it out all summer!!!! He explained what he wanted and she still cut the front. All they could say was sorry. Short is one thing (upsetting but one thing) but it is not even a uniform cut. read more

Love this salon, warm friendly professional. From Gels to facials, natural tan sprays, color and so much more. Each stylist does a great job and there is no problem if your stylist can't fit you in one of the other girls will. Great place family friendly. Best place to go for hair extensions. They make it easy and really work with you to pick the best blend of colors. My new long hair looks so natural and healthy, you would never know it's not all real. Price can be a little steep, but it's an investment and I am really enjoying my new look. Had a horrible experience.... I showed the girl a picture of what I wanted my hair to be and buy my roots she turned it all brasses and looked absolutely horrible the next day. I texted her to see if there was anything we could do about it and she said no there is nothing we can do about it because I have dark roots. I ended up having to go to a different salon and getting it fixed which turned out 10x better! So anyways I called to talk to the owner and she told me she would call me back after she talked to the girl who did my hair so I said okay. She never called back I kept calling they would tell me she's not available can I take a message and still never would call me back after calling and leaving several messages. Then they just stopped answering my calls. All I was asking for was at least half of my money back because I ended up spending 200 to get it fixed and 170 form this solan what is unfair to me. read more

I went to light salon and spa for a facial. I had never had one before and I was a little nervous because I have super sensitive skin and some allergies to some face washes. The young lady who did my facial named Renee did a WONDERFUL job! She took the time to do a patch test to make sure I wouldn't have a reaction and even explained to me how Aveda products are very gentle on the skin. I felt so relaxed and comfortable the whole time ( she even gave me a hand and arm massage!). My face which had been breaking out, looked and felt so much better by the time she was done. She even gave me samples of a face mask and toner to take home with me to continue using. I will DEFINITELY be back to see Renee! Everyone that works in the salon makes you feel like family- they are truly caring and fun people. In addition to that- they do amazing work. In more than 10 years of going here-my color and highlights come out beautiful every time. They stay up on education and new cutting and coloring techniques and I think they are all meticulous about their work. I always look forward to my next experience here. I started going to Light Salon & Spa, from the first week they opened. I have always been treated with the most respect by each employee there. It's a very warm and welcoming environment. As soon as I walk in the door, I get greeted by Carla (who knows every customer by name), which makes me feel very welcomed. I have been getting my hair cut, colored, and styled by Tricia, I am always very satisfied. She seems to be in tuned to the latest styles and techniques, so I feel fresh and new every time I leave. She is AMAZING! I have also treated myself to Manicures and Pedicures, and love them as well. I just recently started getting Facials there, and come out feeling relaxed and refreshed. They start off with a foot bath, and then onto a very relaxing facial. They never seem to miss a step. I highly reccomend Light Salon & Spa, for quality, service and value!!! read more

I've tried lots of salons ever since Groupon, Living Social etc. came into existence. However, this is the only salon where I have remained loyal and returned for numerous haircuts. It's a bit of a drive for me, but I've almost always had a good experience and enjoy the Aveda products. I've had my hair cut by a few of the stylists and I've never left with a bad haircut. There are times I feel like they don't layer my hair as much as I want, but that is likely due to the way I describe what I want. The best part is when they wash your hair - you get an arm massage and a little facial. Just adds to the experience! I've also had my make up done there and she did a great job. She listened to me when I told her what was too much or what colors I liked, which hasn't been my experience with other make up artists. They have appointments in the evenings and weekends which works great for my schedule. You can even schedule online! The prices are reasonable too for an Aveda salon. read more

Don't go to this salon unless you want to leave broke. I went in just to get my roots touched up and before I knew it I was getting my ends glossed also. I was listening to the other clients who where getting their hair done and they were also getting extra services suggested and added. Then she started talking about their products (Aveda) and asking what I use on my hair and at the end asked if I needed any products for my hair when I told her at the beginning that I had enough products. When I originally called the salon I was told that retouch with color starts at $38. I usually go to the Brown Aveda Institute to get my color retouched; however, their hours are limited so I decided to try this salon. I can get the same quality service and a much better job for between $45-55 dollars and the stylist wash all of the hair color out unlike the stylist at the Light Salon & Spa. She certainly wasn't worth $134.00 that I paid. read more

Service here is excellent-very relaxing and well done. The staff (both at the front desk and my stylist) were super friendly. I am giving them a 3 star rating though, because of their add which drew me to them. I received an add in the mail which stated "free haircut w/ color." I realize now that it sounds unrealistic: but I took that as "free for both items." They did explain before my services were done that only the haircut was free-but I was not aware of how much simple spot highlighting would cost. Also, my stylist told me she was putting toner in my hair but did not give me the option of refusing it (I thought it was part of the service yet it was an additional cost). I ended up spending WAY more than expected and again, part of the services provided were done without my approval of spending more. If you have the money to spend, then this place is great but if you like to use coupons and save money (yep-that's me!), I would recommend looking elsewhere. read more
