This was my first time at Magic Nails. I arrived 10 minutes early for a pedicure, was greeted immediately upon entry and asked to sign in. Before I could look at colors, I was told to walk to the back which I did then waited for someone to tell me where to go next. No one was in the back area and I had to find someone. I was asked what color I chose but not having time to look, the tech had to bring the color books. Mia was the nail tech and she was outstanding. Receptionist has a nasty ass attitude!! I have had over 20 pedicures at Magic Nails and dealing with the receptionist is a nightmare. She has no customer service skills whatsoever. She is as rude as they come. I've given her a chance to be nice thinking she was having a bad day - but it seems every single day is a bad day for her because she is NEVER nice. I will not be going back to magic nails nor will I recommend it as long as they have that rude receptionist answering phones and hanging up on me. Horrible horrible service. My friend, myself & daughter came here today for our nail appointments. The lady that did my nails was rude the entire time, rushing, & didn't cut my cuticles like I had asked. My friends nail tech didn't speak but maybe twice and that was to answer yes to my friend question about her polish. (Which was chipped, no too coat on certain spots) My daughters tech was BY FAR THE WORST. RUDE. Did not ask what shape she wanted her nails filed. (So they ended up HORRIBLY CURCLE SHAPED) Missed large areas when applying the dip. And didn't put enough coats. You can see through the polish to her real nail in some areas. Hate to do this but... This place is a joke. I went and got my nails dipped on a Sunday. Paid $40+ and was guaranteed they would last 2 weeks, minimum. By Friday (5 days later) they were lifting & coming off. By Sunday (one week later) all but two had come off my nails. So, on Tuesday I went and had them re done. Staff was actually pretty rude when I was there to get them fixed but not my problem their work is subpar. Now, 3 days later, they are starting to come off again. Horrible!!! There's too many nail salons out there to waste your time, money, and energy here. WARNING: This is the worst nail job I've ever gotten. I told the nail tech I wasn't happy and she said black is hard. She cut me twice and the dip is all over the edges and rest of my hands. I complained to the woman working the front desk and when she told the owner- Si, he started arguing with my nail tech about it in front of everyone. He said am I sure I need it fixed because all he can do is try to clean it up??? I said I'm not walking around with these nails so you need to redo this or I'm not paying. He walked away to go talk to the nail tech who did my nails some more. Two customers waiting in the chairs told me they can't believe what they saw. I told the front desk to forget it and that I won't be back and walked away. This is how this salon treats people and resolves issues. Stay away! I scheduled a pedicure and after waiting for 45 minutes from my scheduled time, my appointment started. The girl was really nice, so that made up for it!!! However, my toenails were really crooked. On the way out, I mentioned this to the secretary. She offered to have somebody redo them, but I declined because it was close to closing time and I didn't want to inconvenience anybody or hurt the girls feelings who did my appt. When I got home, my legs were really sticky and the bottoms of my feet were really dry and flaky. I was not upset, but I just thought maybe I should take the secretary up on her offer. I called them and mentioned what happened. I also told them that the girl who did my appointment was really nice and I hope she doesn't get in any trouble. I offered to pay for another service because I didn't want them to think I wanted a free service but the secretary insisted that I didn't. They then scheduled me an appointment two days later. The day of my appointment came. I walked in and the owner immediately came up to me and started asking about my feet right away. Before we could even get in the back she was berating me at the front of the store. While we started to walk back, I apologized multiple times and said that the girl was really nice and that this isn't a big deal. I go to sit down and the owner aggressively grabs my feet to look at them. I was really taken aback by this. She continues to berate me in front of everybody getting other pedicures done. She argues about the skin on my feet and I show her a picture of my feet after my previous service where there is a lot of peeling. She then gets visibly frustrated with me. I became intimidated because she kept making a scene. Everybody was now looking at us. I lowered my voice and told her "it's fine. You can just do my toenails. I don't wanna make a scene." Then a woman next to me starts laughing. I was really embarrassed at that point. I wanted to leave so badly but the owner insisted that she fix my feet. She went over the top with exfoliating my feet. It was to the point that she was trying to cause pain. I felt as if she was purposely doing it to make a statement to me. She reshaped my toenails and asked me a few times if they were okay. I just agreed even though they still didn't look right so that I could get out of there. I silently cried until she was done. Then I went up to the front desk and spoke with the secretary. In tears I said "when I spoke to you on the phone I offered to pay for another service. I didn't want to inconvenience anybody. She was really mean to me back there and people were laughing. I probably won't be back again." She said "well we don't want that now." I then thanked her for her time and left. read more

The parking lot can get overcrowded but there's always a spot for you. I then proceeded to get a fill j in which this is a new set - I asked her is this pre existing fill line going to show and she yes if I don't get a new set. As I expressed this set is new and I'm not up for paying for something I already have to avoid nasty fill lines. I would not recommend this place!! They also charge you $.50 for using a debit/credit card. When I was expressing my concerns they continued to speak in their native language wgich included laughter. Had a horrible day at work and was so ready for a nice relaxing pedicure. Kelly did a great job although it felt a little rushed as did the whole atmosphere. I get it, they were probably short staffed. She had given me a ticket with the price and her name on it to take up to pay when she was finished and told me to sit in the chair for 20 minutes for the polish to dry. In the meantime I struck up a conversation with the lady next to me. We both got up at the same time and I realized I lost the little ticket she had given me. When I went to pay, I told the man (he wasn't wearing a name badge but I think I remember him as Si?) that I lost the ticket but I knew it was $53 and Kelly had done my pedi and I wouldn't lie about the amount on the ticket. I said this jokingly and expected him to at least smile but instead he gave me a dirty look and yelled to Kelly "53" and she nodded yes. I didn't say anything but immediately felt untrusted due to his demeanor.He handed me my receipt and as I was signing it, the lady I had been chatting with was next to me and she said to him never got a ticket and had just gotten the basic pedicure and he just proceeded to ring her out at her word! Wow. Kinda made me feel stupid and uncared about as a customer who has been coming to this establishment for 10+ years. I just said "well you must look more trustworthy than me" and I left. 6/9 Rude and racist! Please do not go here. The owner Si snatched nail polishes from my hand while I was still deciding on one. He was very rude. 6/26 Update! Because my mani was nicely done and my only issue was with the rude owner (who hadn't performed my service), I came back on 6/26. I was approached by the owner Si, who asked me why I had come back after my negative experience. He basically told me that I was not welcomed and that he doesn't want my service. His exact words " I don't want you". He made me feel very uncomfortable and continued to pester me after I explained to him that it was his rude customer service and not the quality of nails that I had disliked. He finally backed off when he saw me pull my cellphone out and begin to record. He was very persistent and continued to question me after I told him that I refused to argue with him. The lady who ended up doing my nails (Tina) asked me again why I had come back as well. Mind you I am 8 months pregnant and these people are literally harassing me and trying to intimidate me to get me to leave. Word of advice Si- an apology would have sufficed and would have likely been enough to get me to consider changing my review, however your persistent harassment, rudeness and lack of customer service has only reaffirmed my initial review and has now led me to report you to the BBB. I went in today after making an appointment yesterday and Tran did both my SNS nails and my pedicure. I called yesterday and spoke to the girl with the blonde frizzy hair at the front desk. First, she needs better organizational skills. She had me on hold for five minutes, I gave her my name which she promptly forgot then on my way out of the salon she was so incredibly rude. I was trying to find a different credit card because they don't take AMEX and in the process of doing so her sign-in clipboard fell off the counter and she yelled loudly 'jesus christ!!' I'm an atheist so that didn't concern me, but her obnoxious tone did. Tran did a good job on my nails, but I kept having to fix little things. She didn't pay much attention to what I was saying, just a photo that I showed her that was only close to what I wanted. I told her the modification and she just kept doing my nails like the photo. Aggravating. In the end, after several corrections she finally got it so so, but I was tired of being there and going on and on so I just told her to leave it and I got up and left. For my pedicure I was just left sitting for about 10 minutes for no good reason. They do a good job here, but customer service isn't their thing, I guess. I won't be coming back when I visit because there are a lot of good salons in this area. Too bad this couldn't be one of them. read more

As far as nails go, it's not bad. The receptionist is the major problem. She is so miserable and that is my experience over several times of being there (so it isn't just a bad day she's having, it's all the time). It is almost uncomfortable to be in her presence because she is so rude. This nail salon is literally a 4 minute drive from my house but I will start driving 20-30 minutes just so that I don't have to deal with her nasty attitude. Alright, well this is embarrassing, but I'm going to be straight with you. It had been a very long time since my last pedicure so my feet were rough. Like, gotta wear socks to bed cause you don't want those puppies scratching on the sheets rough. So with this in mind I knew that I needed a legit place that would do excellent work, no dainty food rub for me, I needed an industrial strength sand grinder machine and lots of elbow grease. After doing some online research I came upon pretty good reviews for Magic City nails. Their Spa Pedicure included a callus treatment and was only $32.40. Plus they had an appointment available right after work for me. Now the lady who answered the phone that morning was not the most personable, but there was no turning back, this had to be done! So I arrive for my appointment and was taken to my pedicure station shortly after signing in. I was sat next to a friendly woman who is a regular to Magic City. She told me she has been coming here for years to get her feet and hands done, and I witnessed a very friendly rapport between her and the staff. Lots of laughs happening. My nail tech, Jenny (not her real name, she is Vietnamese and said it is just easier to have an American name at work), was quiet but nice. She saw the difficult task at hand and put in her best effort without a complaint. From the time I sat in that massage chair to the time I moved to the nail dryer station was about 40 minutes. Pretty decent time for a pedicure and Jenny did an awesome job smoothing out my feet! (She did forget about me at the dryer station, but I can't blame her, she needed to forget and recharge after The Sheena Foot Disaster of 2017). All in all, I would make this a regular place to visit. Affordable and they do a great job! I know other places that are fancier and more expensive, but honestly Magic City is a better bang for your buck. I also really enjoyed that I was able to sit peacefully without having a gabby nail tech trying to make forced conversation. read more

Got a pedi and dip. They used cold water and I asked her 3 times to make it warmer. The water overflowed 2 times onto the floor where she put my purse. My socks were soaking wet along with my Kate spade purse. She barely scrubbed my feet and then burned them with the hot towels. I decided to try this location because I seen they had really good reviews so I was excited to try somewhere new, I went on a Saturday so it was quite busy. Anyways I get there and i was not greeted upon walking in and signing in but some of the other people after me where familiar and also unfamiliar faces. I decided to think nothing of it until the people after me where offered nail colors because I was getting gel before me and I am sitting here thinking I have been here for 30-40 minutes and it took this long for the front desk clerk to ask me if I want to look at the colors the same one that did not greet me. Finally I get in the chair after a hour literally and she is saying it is extra for 3 colors which i don't understand after waiting so long so I'm like whatever idc at this point. So in the middle of my session I see that the left thumb is a little crooket so I mention it and she gets a attitude which I don't understand because you are servicing me and I'm not paying 36 dollars for my nails to be uneven. So I decided to get a glitter color and a solid color and the glitter was coming out blotchy i guess she didn't see it so I mention that and she gets a attitude again and I'm like look you need to fix this because I didn't wait a hour to get shitty results. At this point in irritated ready to go off but I keep my calm and when she is done I pay and leave. This has to be one of the worst experience I've had at a nail salon ever and I came here because I thought it would be a good experience and it seemed like a nice atmosphere but to those who are regular customers.
