I was recommended this salon when I asked for recommendations of salons that could help me go from dark brown to bright red. A lot of people recommended here. I went to a consult with Patty who said she could get me the red color I wanted my hair to be. Yesterday I went in for the hair appointment and Patty was very professional. She was always asking if I was okay and comfortable. She offered me a drink. She talked to me the whole time I was there (about three hours since my hair needed bleached and two red dyes). So the time was great. For all that we did, I thought it was going to take longer. I have never been so happy with my hair ever in my life. Patty did literally a PERFECT job on my hair! Not only did she get me to the red I wanted, but she gave me a haircut that was even better than I thought it would look like. I am obsessed with my hair and get compliments all the time on it. I absolutely am in love with my hair. I am extremely satisfied and you have a new client. Because I am using Illusion Unlimited as my new salon from now on. The prices at Illusion Unlimited are far too high especially for the service you receive. On top of the high prices the workers are so rude, especially the manager. She has a terrible attitude and is clearly not interested in assisting clients anymore. My best advice would be to go to any surrounding salons like Anthony Amato in Independence. Illusions unlimited has really went down hill once covid hit, Marcy is not a nice desk clerk to the people that go to the salon, she does not speak nice to the clients that go there. The prices are over the top. I would not go back and all the people at my job quit going to Illusions unlimited because of the prices and the treatment from the desk clerks. read more

Clean and friendly environment but I have the hardest time getting anyone on the phone to schedule an appointment! It goes directly to being on hold during business hours after a few rings and I wait and end up having to hang up. Typically takes 3 or 4 tries before I can actually talk to someone to get an appointment. read more

I Went in without an appointment and asked if they had anything available they asked what services I would like done and I said I would like to leave as blonde as possible and I am a brunette they said OK well we have something available at 10:45 and I said oh awesome I got some breakfast and went back when I got back the stylist said OK so we're doing a partial highlight? I said well, I told the ladies upfront that I would like to leave here as blonde as possible would a partial highlight be as blonde as possible? she said no definitely not but unfortunately I don't have enough time to do more than a partial highlight. I find it very unprofessional and a waste of my time to schedule me for something I didn't ask for and then not be able to do what I did ask for. I am sure that the hairdresser was great I just will not be giving any place it doesn't respect my time any of my business. read more

I had a stylist that switched from this location to another, who was great. But Kiara was my next stylist and can't even color my hair without dying my head and ears with dye. It happened all three times that I went to her. Also she was never very nice or welcoming and I felt like she hated her job and her customers. There were a couple other stylists that were nice that I've gone to over time but I never really felt confident in their skills. I will never give this location another dime. read more

I love this salon! Kimmi is my stylist and always does a wonderful job on my hair I actually tried another stylist because Kimmi was busy, she did ok but not as good for sure. She was very nice. Anyway I had to come back and have Kimmi fix my hair. Which they did not charge me for. So that made me feel better and it was fixed to the way I usually have it. I came in today to get my hair done and we had to fix my bill cause I actually needed a different service then listed and I noticed that they had charged me for a COVID fee on the bill then after looking at it further I noticed they had charged me for it back in June too. I understand we have to be safe and clean but I have to pay for you to keep your business clean. I probably wouldn't be upset except that I was never told about it. Also there are several empty chairs that can be used. I don't think that is being very transparent at all. I don't mind paying the price to get my hair done I do mind being charged for cleaning supplies. Not Happy at all read more

Illusions is great. I have been twice while in the area and like the results. As a rule, I'm picky about my hair but I have yet to leave upset! They don't chop off 4 inches and claim it was just two, plus no surprises on prices. My only complaint would be that I always seem to be booked for a cut and style, even when I ask for just a cut and scheduled the latest possible time. The stylist always understands but it is frustrating to keep explaining "just a cut." read more

It's really amazing what a single salon visit can do to improve your appearance. My visit was worth every penny. A woman named Sharron gave me an eyebrow wax and did an AMAZING job and actually put forth a lot of effort to get them perfect--no one else I've had did them with that much attention to detail. My haircut was fairly quick, but it worked wonders and I'm glad I got it. Hair looks much healthier now. read more

My sister set up an appointment here for her wedding with the bridal party. We arrived around 8am and the staff was friendly and accommodating with a nice cup of coffee. Honestly, I was kind of in crabby mood that morning, because I had no idea what to with my hair or if anything really formal could be done with it. My hair wasn't long enough, at chin length for an up-do like everyone else. After some brainstorming, my stylist began putting bigger curls in my hair and playing around with different options. Unfortunately, I can't remember my stylist name, but after some time she came up with an AWESOME style. I felt very vava-voom Elizabeth Taylor circa 1960's. They were even able to fit me in last minute to get my make up done too. I was so happy with how everything turned out, I truly felt like a rock star when I left. Drove past and saw this place, didn't have an appointment and they took me right before they closed. Got a hair cut by Nicole. Was more than pleasantly surprised. She did a great job. Cut off the perfect amount of hair for it to feel healthy again but still kept the length. We talked about color, and a funky cut, but she was very honest about what's best for my hair. (It was in pretty bad shape when I came in). The hair cut was perfect, but the honesty/conversation about how to get where I want with my hair is what will make me a consistent customer. I am so upset. I got to my appointment 10 early. There was no receptionist at the front. Five minutes later both receptionists come out, say Hello and offer me a coffee (i declined). At no time did they notify my stylist that I was waiting. Instead I got to overhear their gossip about how the salon should be under investigation. After 10 minutes of waiting, I said that maybe I should change my appointment because they obviously over booked my stylist. The one receptionist said, "no she doesn't wear her pager, we knew she'd be upfront.". That's when I got upset. I was about to walk out the door and the chatty gossip said, "please don't leave" and my stylist came out, apologized, and paid for my appointment. Do not go there unless you are in desperate need of gossip, and in desperate need of being ignored. I was a loyal customer for 2 years, and have never been treated like I was invisible. read more

This review is regarding the manager and sales manager of the salon in Strongsville. I have been going there every 2 weeks for years and have referred several people to them. Today, I was rudely told to leave by Marcy while she tore up my check in front of my face and told the girl who was doing my nails "stop, you're done". She didnot even try to understand my position, but extremely rude, angry and confrontational about what she perceived as me "abusing" her staff! This was a new product the staff encouraged me to try today since my regular nail stylist was on a leave and the one who replaced her has been having many problems using the "Extreme Nails" product I have been getting for years without any problems. Not only with me, but with others as well. It had been 2 weeks and all my nails had fallen off completely! Needless to say, I was upset but willing to try what they suggested, but didn't feel like I should be charged a higher price and told that several ways to Chelsea. When Marcy came in, she never even spoke to me about all the problems I've been having with my nails and the new tech, she told me to "get out" and even threatened me that she was going to call the police if I did not leave right then. This all started a few weeks ago when they told me I would have to pay a 20% increase since the "old" manager wasn't charging me correctly, just because I got a french paint job after my regular fills. It didn't take my regular tech any longer to do it or use any more polish. I told Chelsea, the manager in Strongsville, that I did not think I should have to pay that kind of increase. She got Marcy, the "sales manager" on the phone who became very confrontational and argumentative with me saying I would have to pay the 20% increase or I could go somewhere else! Since my husband and I own a markeing company, I am well aware of the fact that this is NOT how you treat clients, especially very loyal clients who refer business to your shop and I told Marcy this. It didn't matter. So next time, I got regular polish, but my nails continued to break and come off, and I had to return in 4 days to have them redone. Today, Chelsea tried to tell me they did my nails for "FREE" last time! I don't think so, I had an inferior job done and you should stand behind your wrok and make it right! I still have part of this different prodcut on my nails and it is very sticky. I called back to find out what to use to remove it and Marcy told me "go to another salon". She finally asked the nail tech and told me what to use. I intend to talk with the owner about the treatment I got today. I would guess this is not how he wants his clients to be treated. read more
