I used to exclusively go to River Nails. However, I've been disappointed with the quality on my recent visits. They don't care how your nails look, they only care about getting customers in and out quickly. My nail tech used old clumpy polish but assured me it would look fine with a top coat. I'm so disappointed with the final product but didn't have the energy to argue. My wife went to this place for a pedicure and came home with multiple deep gashes on her foot. Not only was she disfigured physically, but the trauma has taken a psychological toll on her as well. If you look closely there are at least 4 separate chunks taken out of her toe, all of which cut deep into her foot and drew blood. The person who administered this "pedicure" didn't slip and make one accidental cut. This individual gouged her over and over again. Judging by the the other complaints seen here on yelp and through other channels about this shop, it's clear there is a pattern of doing physical harm to customers. read more

Absolutely horrible! I had a 2:30 appointment, I arrived at 2:25 and sat down after checking in. when I asked at 2:40 I was told they were running behind and short staffed. After a year and a half without a pedicure I decided to take advantage of my free time while my husband took our two year old to the zoo. Looking forward to my first pedicure in quite some time I tried to relax, not far into it and the woman took the cheese grater to my big toe injuring me, blood going everywhere. I just started crying. All I wanted to do was relax and now a hunk of my big toe was missing. I've gotten my nails done twice so far and each time the technician has been friendly, efficient, and skilled. My friend and I went to get pedicures this weekend and overall weren't impressed. I've been here a few times several years ago for manicures and never had a bad experience, but the service seems to have declined. Besides the host at the desk, no one was friendly or even smiled to greet us and seemed kind of cold. The more we look at our pedicures now, the more we are noticing about the poor quality of them. The toes aren't even painted to the edges and the top layers don't even cover the bottom layers. Overall not super impressed and for the price I'm not sure if I'll be coming back for this service. read more

I attended with my mother, grandmother, and sister (ages 18, 20, 61, and +80). We all got the signature pedicure. The quality did vary slightly by technician, but was overall very nice. I was most impressed with how the salon treated my grandmother (+80). Her tech was very patient with her and her spotty hearing. I'm a dancer, and do a lot of barefoot work, so I know I don't have the prettiest feet. My tech did a great job removing a good a mount of the callouses that had accumulated. I did deduct a star because one of my cuticles was cut too short and started bleeding. It was completely painless, one of those "oh look at that, I'm bleeding" moments. Not a huge deal, but not pretty either. I was the only member of my party who had any inconveniences, mine being extremely minor. read more

WORST Salon EVER. I went in to get dip powder nails, and the male nail technician cut my finger. When I asked him to take a minute and apply pressure and said "no, it's a small cut no worries." I currently have dip powder on top of a blood spot. As if things couldn't get any worse less then 24 hours later, I was getting dressed and my pointer finger nail just popped off! I was just putting my shoes on when this happened. I had to to drive all the way back to the salon and was told they didn't have time to fix it. I had to wait 40 minutes to get it fixed. When I told them this was unacceptable and I wanted a refund, and they simply just said nails are not a science and that a refund is not something they were going to provided. I have never had such a bad experience. UPDATE 48 HOURS LATER: All my nails have popped off, it started with my thumb nail while I was just washing my hands and then all the rest to follow. I'm giving a 2 start only , because their service when I started coming here was amazing. I normally get no-chip manicure it would normally last me two weeks if not more. For the past two visits I've had to go every 10 days for a new manicure. The first time I initiated the problem of my no chip lifting after a week the receptionist didn't care the second time I went to someone else about is she was very defensive when I told her I was here a week ago she said my nails looked like it was more than a week to tell her when I was there last asap. I pulled up my bank statements and facto had to return to this place every 10 days. Once I showed her proof it was the one week service she didn't even offer me a gift card of service on them to fix my nails all she said was "let your tech know to keep the primer polish on for longer under the UV light" I'm sorry isn't that your job to tell your employees how to do their job.... I come for a service pay for it and it should be done properly no questions asked. And I will be telling all of my followers / friends about this! I came for my last pedi here and I will not be returning after their terrible customer service and nail tech service! read more

I asked for coffin nails and at first glance they looked alright, but now I'm home and analyzing them and hate them. Completely all different shapes. I get my nails done for my job and these are embarassing. My nail tech even noticed I didn't like the shape at first and said wait until I'm finished. Well here's the finished "coffin nails" done by the owner Hai. Can't believe he let someone walk out looking like this. If I could give this place negative stars I would. Please....go ANYWHERE else. I've gone there about 5 times. Two time I requested Fi because I liked how he did my nails the first time....both times I requested him, he was no show. At the second no show I got another guy , Ryan, who I liked, so the next time I made and appointment and requested him, since Fi didn't seem very reliable....and guess what...he was no show, so after waiting 15 minutes past my appointment (not too bad) I got another nail tech, don't know her name but she was pissed about some mix up with another customer and bitched to the tech next to me the entire time. When she finished with me I had 4 different lengths of nails, 2 really short, most medium, and one long one...and they were what I could only describe as "lumpy". I have to say she was fast though, everyone is always running around the place like chickens with their heads cut off and squawking about something. My friend was meeting after for scheduled pedicures together. The chatterbox tech put my feet in a bowl of cold water and started doing another persons nails, persons nails. My friend came in to the shop...on time, and waited in the front for 10 minutes without ever being greeted, I finally waved her down to the pedicure chairs.....where she sat for 1/2 hour without anyone putting her feet in water...and now mine was icy cold. We'd had enough so I paid for my manicure and gave a generous tip.... too generous. Today we had scheduled the same thing, everyone deserves a second chance. I would get my manicure first and she would meet me for pedicures after. My manicure was scheduled for 4:30, she would come at 5:30. At 5:05 they still hadn't started my nails, and Ryan was still in the middle of doing someone else's nails. He told me had tried to call and cancel, then tried to make it sound like it was my fault because I had made the appointment online (which I hadn't, I had actually called to make the appointment, still...WTF! Was that supposed to make me feel better. I called my friend, she picked me up and we went to Victoria nails around the corner....we were both done with beautiful toes by 6:30. I have an appointment to get my finger nails done there tomorrow. Bottom line, if you enjoy sitting in a total time suck watching chaos and mayhem, swirling around you, and being made to feel like a huge annoyance while your frustration grows to epic proportions....then River Nails is the place for you....not me, they will NEVER waste my time agin. read more

I went to River Nails for the first time about a week and a half ago, and my nails still look amazing. They did the best gel treatment I've ever had! Its super thick and was very well sealed. I was with my mother who got a fill and gel treatment and she's also super happy with their work. They did an excellent job with both of our pedicures as well. They have different levels of pricing on pedicures, so you can pick anywhere from simple to luxurious. They have free wifi, offer you a beverage, have nice new massage chairs with awesome tubs, and the whole place is very clean. They have huge selection of gel colors, too! My nail technician was Kennedy and I would absolutely request her again. She's super nice and very good at what she does! read more

I went back on Tuesday to get it fixed and the owner assisted me. She was on a personal phone call and refused to put her call on hold to help me. She kept her phone to her ear while talking to me, horrible customer service! For that reason I'll NEVER return. She battled with me the whole time about why the gel is starting to come up WITHIN TWO DAYS. Today it's been one week and my nails look terrible. WOW is all I have to say about this place. I've been to a lot of these locally run nail salons, but they all seem to lack what this place HAS! Their grand opening was Tuesday, & a friend of mine scheduled appointments for a group of 4 of us to get pedicures (because they were offering a 20% discount for the grand opening). The owner not only remembered her name the entire time, but he made all of us feel so WELCOME. He brought out plates of cheese and crackers along with a bottle of red wine. We most definitely were not expecting anything like this. I mean, come on, what girl doesn't want to be wine and dined? My crew and I definitely ate all of that royal treatment up! Now onto the pedicure. They offer a menu of different pedicures that you can choose from, but I went for the "ultimate herbal pedicure." It consisted of dried herbal leaves of my choice (peppermint & lavender). It was so relaxing, and my tech, Adrianna, was simply AMAZING. She was so meticulous in making sure that I was comfortable, relaxed, and happy with her work. I was INCREDIBLY happy with her work and will be requesting her again when I return. I had a regular manicure and the DG color was so incredible as was my manicurist. My daughter also found the young lady who did her pedi to be sweet as can be. She stopped to check my polish color and loved it as much as I did. I believe it was called Dublin Green by DND. I am 51 - felt I needed to give my age as it will give context to my review. I'm well aware of the rough state of my feet - the older I've gotten the rougher my heals and soles of my feet have gotten, too. The perks of being middle aged, I guess! I live in River so I have gone to this nail salon several times and each time it has progressively gotten worse. There are a couple of very friendly and kind people that work there but most of the pedicure technicians are rough and dismissive. It's difficult to understand the accent (this is not a criticism of the accent, by the way) and is made worse because they wear a mask. When I couldn't hear nor understand the instructions, the tech screamed it at me and slapped my leg - I guess that means put the foot in the water (which was scalding hot) He began picking at my cuticles and I recoiled because it hurt and he then grabbed onto my leg harder. Ok, I'm no wimp so I just endured it. There was no communication nor niceties - no smiles, no "spa-like" feeling. I was just waiting to get through it so I could get my rough heels treated and my toes painted. I used to refer to pedicures as a "poor man's massage" but this place has ceased to provide that service for me. It was anything but relaxing and at $43 (without tip) I'd expect at least a smile. I will not be back! Note to Haibing Wang - you are one of the exceptions. You were kind and made me feel very comfortable. read more
