Had take out yesterday and ordered the beef and pork lo mein, pineapple fried rice, eel roll, pork dumplings, and a side of the boneless pork. Lo mein: I asked them to make it spicy and it was delicious. Generously portioned as well with a good ratio of noodles to toppings. I wish they offered a "house" or "combination" option with more than one protein like they do with their fried rice. Pineapple fried rice: Although it was labeled spicy, it didn't have much of a kick for me. Otherwise the flavor was very good and the shrimp were big. Eel roll: Saucy and yummy. Potion was small (appetizer sized) so order two or three if you want just this as an entree. Pork dumplings: Steamed dumplings weren't bad, but they fell apart a bit. Boneless pork: Good portion with good flavor. Some bites were a tad dry but the peices with a bit of fat were super good. Overall the food was yummy and the portions were great considering the prices. Will definitely come back for more. If anyone is reading this from the restaurant it would be AWESOME if you could offer your fried rices with the soy sauce substituted with tamari or coconut aminos for folks with gluten sensitivity! Veekoo just opened this location in Berwyn. According to their website, their address is in Royersford. I don't know if they moved or opened a second location. My family had a wonderful time here. We tried the tuna pizza, a sea bass roll, their namesake "Veekoo" roll, and a "Fancy Dragon". All were delicious. Our Upper Main Line / King of Prussia area has quite a few very good sushi restaurants. Veekoo's cuisine is on par with their competition, Their menu is primarily Japanese / sushi. They also have Chinese dishes on the menu, but we didn't try any. What really made our night here was how friendly and attentive the host, servers, and sushi chefs all were. The service was exceptional. Everyone was eager to make their guests feel welcome and happy. This is what upped it to 5 stars for me. I hope Veekoo is successful and wish them luck. Tried this place tonight for the first time (take out). To be honest this was some of the worst Chinese/sushi food i have ever had. Started off with the steamed chicken dumplings. These things literally had 0 flavor to the point where I just stopped eating them so as to not waste calories. Next I tried the sushi (sweet potato roll and shrimp tempura roll). Basically again just ate one of each because they smelled fishy and the rice was hard (not moist like it should be with a fresh sushi roll). Next thing on the menu was "general tsos chicken" The sauce tasted like watered down ketchup and there was entirely too much breading over the chicken which as anyone who knows the chinese game can attest is a sign of a bad restaurant. Again one of the worst general tsos i think ive ever had. Really I ended up throwing away 3/4 of what I ordered because it was just that inedible. Such a great place! I love it because they serve Japanese, Chinese and Thai cuisine. I can't speak for the Thai but they do both Japanese and Chinese very well. It's perfect because my husband hates sushi and this place makes for a great compromise when a sushi craving hits for me! This is one of the best Asian fusion restaurants in the area. Both the Chinese and the Japanese (sushi) are great. The ambiance and the service are both great also if you decide to dine in. For convenience, we end up doing mainly take-out (kinda unfortunately) and the food is just as good for take-out. We've never had an order messed up in any way, and it's always ready on time. Pretty disappointed with my experience at Veekoo last night. First the food. Scallion pancakes - pretty good, little oily for my taste but nice chewy consistency. King crab miso soup - not sure what makes this king crab. No pieces of crab in the soup and no discernible crab flavor in the broth. Maybe they just gave me regular miso soup by mistake? Regardless it was kind of bland. House special wonton soup - they didn't skimp on the meat and good amount of wontons and veggies too. Broth wasn't quite as flavorful as I'd like but better than the miso soup IMO. Wontons were quite doughy, I threw a lot of the excess dough away. Fancy dragon roll - just didn't taste quite as fresh as I would've liked. Good flavor from the eel and smoked salmon. The teriyaki sauce is a nice touch. Spider roll - not great not bad, pretty so so. No texture difference, more of a mushy roll. I would've given the food 3 stars but the service was appalling. I had no problem ordering the food but when I arrived to pick it up the man working the register was laughingly rude. Then when I get home I realize the two sushi containers were packaged standing on their short ends and not flat like they should be so the sushi got all jammed and smushed against the bottom ends of the containers. I carried the bags out the way they were given to me. Ridiculous. They have a small plastic sneeze guard up in front of the register and had hand sanitizer out for guest use. Take out is a big part of our world now and just a little more care given to the packaging would've made a big difference. read more

I popped in for lunch today and was very pleased with the quick service, the beautiful and calming atmosphere, and the quality of the food! For $11, I got wonton soup, an egg roll, and hunan chicken with rice. All were delicious, but the pork egg roll was really fantastic. I always get an egg roll when I can because I love them, but at most restaurants, you can taste the ingredients are less than fresh and it's probably been frozen. I tried Veeokoo for the first time, and I'm happy to say I'm excited to return. The restaurant has a friendly wait staff, beautiful decor and a pleasantly soothing ambiance that I enjoyed just as much as the sushi. Here's a quick breakdown of my experience: Service: The manager and my waiter were both very courteous and helpful. My waiter was attentive without being pushy, gave us timely drink refills and gave me a free dessert for my birthday. Sweet! Sushi: If you love tuna, try the Pink Lady roll and the Santa rolls -- they're delicious! I like how their fish tasted extremely fresh. The only small drawback is that their special rolls are huge, which means more for your money, but they can be a bit difficult to eat and fall apart easily. Appetizers: Their spring rolls are crispy without being too greasy and taste awesome. The miso soup was well seasoned without being too salty. I also like how you're given a small plate of cabbage and peanuts to clear your palate throughout your meal. My friend introduced me to this place one Thursday night. Love the fact that it is BYOB! The ambience was nice but unexpected - the decor is swanky and not typical for an Chinese restaurant. One thing that I noticed - my two friends and I weren't offered any chopsticks (I'm asian but my friends aren't), which I thought was strange, and a bit off-putting. I ordered the basil beef dish. It was good but did not seem to be authentic Asian cuisine. My friends seemed to like their meals as well. Overall, it was good, but nothing too memorable. Prices were fair. This review is of a to-go lunch order of shrimp pad thai and hot and sour soup. First, when I arrived to pick up the order, the person behind the counter wasn't sure if the restaurant had gotten my order correct. Although it turned out fine in the end, it was disconcerting to have the host be uncertain about my order when I was the only other customer in the restaurant at the time. As for the food, the soup was somewhat better than the pad thai, which was so dry that I had to drown it in the soup to make it edible. The portion was fine for lunch. The restaurant itself was nicely appointed w/ good ambiance. Its Japanese offering may be superior to its Thai offering.
