We ended up going to Veekoo last minute with a fairly large party that they were able to accommodate. They were very welcoming and patient with our group size, and the times between ordering and receiving our food were considerably quick. The menu's design, cleanliness and ambiance of the restaurant were also great. The food was good, but I thought a bit lackluster for the price tag. We collectively got the sushi Love Boat, specialty sushi rolls, dumplings, soups and ramen. The best was probably the sushi, with the Yellow Dragon being the highlight. The other rolls ranged between good and alright. The soups and dumplings were a bit bland, but also still good. Food is always great but tonight the customer service could have been better .We had two gift cards to use and were told we one of the gift cards was from their old system. I told them it had $50.00 when asked. They gave us $20.00 when I knew for a fact there was $50.00 on it. The kids always give us that amount. As a business owner, I feel you should have received a report of all outstanding gift cards before you changed systems as you have been paid for them. Just not right. Not sure I will be back. At the mention of Veekoo Asian Cuisine, I freely confess that my emotions are decidedly "mixed." On the other hand, perhaps "vexed" would be a more accurate description. Veekoo, as many knowledgeable diners are aware, is a family of three Asian restaurants: the Royersford location being the oldest, followed in turn by Berwyn and Bryn Mawr. I will refrain from comment upon the latter, which I have visited on only one occasion. However, since I have been a semi-regular at both the Royersford and Berwyn outposts for over a decade, I feel that I am certainly qualified to express what I consider to be an honest and enlightened opinion. Several months ago, I characterized my view of the Berwyn establishment rather succinctly: "It ain't what it used to be." Improper the grammar may be... but the expression itself is right on target, Unfortunately, the very same may be said of Royersford, its elder sibling... as, over the course of time, I have noticed a significant downturn in both the quality of the cuisine and the service. My most recent visit, for example, was all too typical... My dining partner and I both ordered the same entrée, Stir-Fry Vegetables. His was supplemented with roast pork, mine with chicken. He was completely pleased with his dish; I was completely disappointed with mine. A word of explanation... Naturally, I did not expect my chicken in white sauce to have the same depth of flavor as my companion's roast pork in brown sauce. That being said, however... my entrée exhibited not even the slightest hint of flavor. The dish was totally bland. About as satisfying as ingesting Styrofoam. And the fact that the vegetables were woefully UNDER cooked (the next thing to raw) certainly did absolutely nothing to ameliorate the situation. I will, however, give credit where credit is due... The manager immediately had the offending entrée removed from the check. But then there's the matter of service. And, once again, it's the same old story... We were still enjoying our appetizers when - you guessed it - up popped our Speedy Gonzales server with the entrées. So, what's the big rush...? This is a practice I have soundly criticized on numerous occasions. And while it may be the result of a combination of factors, I strongly suspect that, as in many restaurants, it is simply a matter of management's desire to turn over tables as quickly as possible taking precedence over diners' comfort. Not exactly customer friendly, in my opinion. Restaurants, please take note... No diner desires to be hurried through a meal, unless he/she specifically indicates that it is necessary to do so. read more

Well we found Costco selling gift cards for this restaurant and since it was near us we decided to give it a try. To start with the restraining wants it to be treated as upscale but we didn't feel like it. Our waiter was a little rude and didn't care about answering our questions and just wanted to get it over with. Food prices vs food portions are not at all aligned. Veggies are plenty but meat items are just sprinkled on. Food taste is meh. We tried two soups, hot and sour and pork wonton. Both were bland and lacked any seasoning. Hot and sour had a funny smell and we could never finish it, wonton soup had at least good wontons but the broth was like water with some spring onions. Pad thai was ok but again hardly 4 pieces of shrimp and not much seasoning, we could only eat it with their chilli oil. Saving grace was their Szechuan chicken which was flavorful and great but again filled up with veggies and very less chicken. We had ordered take out for an earlier time and got Honey Glazed Walnut shrimp. Eat here at least once a month. If you go to Costco you can get a 20% off gift card. Staff is always friendly and on point. Curbside pickup for phone orders or online orders. They're always quick. I'm always getting the chicken and string beans with the lettuce wraps. Szechuan dumplings are always good and my brother always gets the sushi. My only knock against them is some things need more flavor or more oomph. That just might be me but worth checking out to be sure you can ask for chili oil or more spice and they will accommodate to be sure if that's your goal. read more

Veekoo can be hit or miss as far as experience. The place is small and they get BUSY with good reason. Service can be hot or cold, so just know going in, the meal will be great, but service may disappoint from time to time. They do a ton of takeout orders, so that is most likely the problem. Valentine's Day 2024. First and foremost, I have been a raving fan of Veekoo for years. For years, it has been consistently exceeding expectations. My last 2-3 takeout experiences have been extremely disappointing. Most recently my bill was $90, I had ordered 2 egg rolls and received no duck sauce. None. Not even the packets. Also no fortune cookies. Both of which my 10 year old son looks forward to. For $90 the absence of these items is unacceptable based on the level of your pricing and expected customer service. Fast forward to Valentine's night. Take-out order placed approximately 5:30. Received order over 2 hours later. My dish was cold and absolutely had been sitting for a considerable amount of time. Okay- it's Valentine's Day right, understandable...WRONG. Veekoo has profited from this town for years by providing good service and great food. They now have multiple locations and I believe they're stretched to thin and possibly the money is what's most important. As a part of the hospitality industry for many, many years, If you're unable to facilitate and produce the product for takeout orders on a holiday, then you simply do not offer takeout. Valentine's Day of 2019, we waited about an hour to be seated for a reservation made a week in advance because they simply decided to overbook themselves. There was a line out the door of people with reservations. Tonight we got take out. Only after completing the online order did the website tell us it would be a 45 minute wait! And that turned out to be quite disappointing. The broth was not very flavorful and there was nothing at all interesting about this dish. It's just another restaurant that's jumped on the Ramen bandwagon. I ended up being sorry that I got this instead of the sushi rolls my friend got. At least I had a few of his. I have long been a fan of VeeKoo in Royersford. Their food was really quite good - the preparation and the ingredients really showed. I ate there so often, I would by the gift cards at Costco. I brought business colleagues there for years. This is why it is so sad for me to report that a great has fallen. I have noticed a gradual change in the overall quality of the food these last years. Recently I got takeout and this will surely be the last time I ever go there. I got Chinese Ribs and fried rice. The ribs were almost tasteless and very, very tough. Ultimately I threw out two of the five ribs. The rice was as bland and tasteless as anything I have ever eaten. I disposed of half of that order. My wife had sesame chicken - this was an abomination. The breading was thick, wet, and poorly adhered. The preparation, sauce and taste were all a failure. Add to all of this the pricing is very, very high now. The last three times I got food here - twice dining in and once take out - were all the same. I only kept trying them again because I had been going there for years and had previously enjoyed the food so much. As far as tonight, I can honestly say this is one of the worst meals I have had in years, keep in mind I had food poisoning at a different restaurant three years ago. I waited three weeks Intentionally before writing a review to allow the manager to rectify the situation and she still has not. Like all reviews I will be honest in my experience. I ordered takeout in effort to support a small business. The food is pricey. $40 for two meals but figured I'd give it a try. I was giving a time frame of 40 minutes for pick up. I arrived within 40 minutes and waited another 20 minutes outside for my food. Not the end of the world, so okay. Plus the curbside attendant was a very nice young man. Got to my location and noticed condiment items that I was charge for were not included. Again not the end of the world. Was not happy with the food at all. The chicken and broccoli was very bland while the General Tso Chicken was too spicy to finish. But then I noticed I was over charged. I reached out to the restaurant immediately for the charge to be corrected before they settle the night out. No response. So I replied to the email with my order confirmation. It took three days before I can actually reach someone. He then took my information and said he will pass it along to the manager. The manager finally called me back the next day around 9:00 PM and said that she would fix the charge. Three weeks later today and the charge is not fixed. Unfortunately , the overall experience was not a pleasant one. read more
