We have tried so many Chinese Restaurants in the Pottstown area and this is by far the best. The menu has the usual offerings you would expect, but some nice additions as well. They have recently added some Thai dishes including Pad Thai and green and red curries. The service was fast and professional. We will be making this our local Chinese place. They are open for pick-up during COVID-19. I called and placed my order and it was ready in ten minutes. The food was fresh and delicious. read more

If you like chicken, this is the place for you! Their food is just good. Their chicken eats like it's been slow-cooked and their sauces are real: not too much salt. And the veggies are perfection! I thought the chicken was meaty, It could've used a little more heat but I fixed that with red pepper flakes at home. I was very happy with my meal and will go back. Ordered takeout and was very disappointed. I waited several months to give them another chance. Worse second time. Had a combination of crab Rangoon, boneless rib with fried rice and side of egg roll. When I opened the box it was 98% fried rice, crab Rangoon was all fried dough, boneless spareribs were a lot of fat and very little very tough meat. No utensils as requested and only one package of duck sauce for the entire meal. Save your money. Hard to find, if not impossible, good Chinese here. read more

Ever since the family that started the Hunan Wok takeout in the 90s sold out and Panda Heaven closed, we have found it hard to find good, reasonably priced Chinese food. (I add reasonably priced because Veekoo in Royersford is very good but quite expensive.) A few weeks ago, we got a flyer in the mail for Mayflower Chinese Restaurant. The menu looked good and lunch, in particular was very reasonable--$6.99 for a main, pork fried rice and an appetizer or soup. So we tried it last week for a takeout lunch. Waited about 10 minutes while our food was prepared. I ordered chicken with cashews and the spring roll, my husband got shrimp in lobster sauce and an egg roll. My lunch was great. Nice, big pieces of tender chicken with plenty of cashews. The spring roll was good--light and flaky. The egg roll didn't have much taste. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and huge--16-20 count is my guess. The lobster sauce was thin and tasted like chicken broth. In fact, the shrimp in lobster sauce came in a plastic tub. Threw us off because it looked like soup. I thought they got the order wrong. But, all in all, I would rate it a 4-star lunch based on quality and price. There are two tables seating 4 each, so you could eat in. There is a long bench you can sit on while waiting for your order. The woman who takes the orders is very nice and brought us our order. There is a table near the door with packages of various condiments: hot sauce, mustard sauce, duck sauce, soy sauce and catsup that you can help yourself to. They take all major credit cards. We aren't local but hungry for Chinese food. I saw fairly good reviews for here and tried it. First of all they are still living the early days of the pandemic. Everything is closed off with plastic. They offer only takeout. The room was freezing while we waited. The order was done pretty fast and maybe that reflected in the taste. Food had bad "old greasy " taste and very little sweet/spicy flavor I'm so used to with the dish I ordered. I won't go here again next time I'm in the area. read more

Great food, I got the sesame chicken and the crab Rangoon with almost no complaints. Great portion sizes, and the rangoons are PACKED with great flavor. My only complaint is that the food had started to go a little cold after only a 15 minute drive back home. Other than that, this will be my new Chinese takeout GO TO. However, when I went to pick it up, they charged me $10 for it. Hi- the food is generally good. However, I have ordered the Szechwan triple crown twice. Both times I received it, it had a load of onions! Onions are not listed in the description. It had peppers- which are listed. Also listed are snow peas and broccoli- not found in this dish. Very disappointing...please fix or change the menu!!! read more

The food is decent. But no matter what you order or how busy it is, they'll always tell you it will be ready in 10 minutes or 15 minutes. Ready in 30 or 45 or more actually so you'll just sit waiting in your car for no good reason. Would be fine by me if they just said "pick it up in 45 minutes" or whatever. We order food from Mayflower maybe once a month. The food is tasty, service is quick and the prices are quite reasonable. The portions are very generous and the folks there are really nice. It's standard Americanized Chinese food, not the exotic kinds that one would find in China, but I would put them above other local purveyors in this market. I picked boneless ribs with my meal and they were dry. The lady on the phone was very nice and delivery was fast and the delivery driver was friendly.
