The Bao's were really good. I'm from out of town and did not want traditional American and that led me here. I've had bao before and it's usually pork belly so to see a restaurant that bao is the specialty and they've got such a variety is exciting! They didn't disappoint. The charred Brussels sprouts have such a tasty flavor and definitely recommend. The person helping me today, Ganandeep, recommended some really tasty options that really made a difference, he mentioned they've got a bao for everyone. I was very excited to try this place, as the photos of the Baos looked amazing, but unfortunately, fell short of expectations. I had nine different Baos and some were good, but some were suboptimal. A few of my favorites were the Bang Bang, lil Bao Wow, and Bao Boa which the combination of flavors made sense on a bao and they didn't fall apart as easily due to the amount of filling they had or how soaked they were from the steam. The yenta, prime time, and crispy chick were okay. I wish there was a little bit more sauce on each one. I feel like the yenta would've been better with a larger pizza of pastrami as cutting it so thin and tiny sort of destroyed the flavor of it. The gringo was a bit on the drier side and the sticky chicky was underwhelming, I think it needed something extra to enhance the flavor profile of it. Lastly, I had the Hot Motha Clucka which was my least favorite of the nine. Not enough buffalo sauce and too much blue cheese, ultimately the blue cheese overpowered everything else and made this one a bit distasteful. I liked how they had different options and types of bao. They were hit or miss in my opinion. I was surprised how much I liked the cauliflower version over the pork version. The seasoning on the cauliflower was much more prominent. The area had plenty of parking so you never have to worry about finding parking. In terms of seating, they do not have a lot of seating that is viable. You have one table that's position right at the door. One table that is right in front of the napkins and between the pick up and the sodas. One table that is a bit too close to the bathrooms. That means there are basically 3 tables that are the most viable to use that are left. When we went, they were obviously the only tables taken. I had this place in downtown Philadelphia in 2021 and wanted to try this place again. When I saw this, I wanted to try it. Food 3stars. Price 2 stars. Stopped here with another family member who is also a fan of those pillowy bao buns and was intrigued by this restaurant concept. We both got the three bao combo. They are all tasty but some did not meet expectations. The buffalo style chicken mother clucker bao was ordered by both of us. No surprises in flavors although the chicken in this sandwich and in another one ordered with chicken the chicken did not sit well in the bun. This makes for sloppy eating and not something you want to attempt in the car. The crispy chick was ok but was light on sauce and garnish and therefore ate a bit dry and short on flavor. The Lil bao wow promised pork belly, green chili sauce and radish. I was expecting a slice of pork belly but got shredded pork and none of the fattiness of pork belly. This ate like naked pulled pork. My dining partner enjoyed his other two bao but agreed that the flavor expectations raised by the menu did not make it to the plate. Price for the 3 bao combos was $15.45 and we each got a fountain drink. I was shocked when the receipt read $36+ before tax and tip. That because the fountain drinks were $3 each. This is not posted anywhere on the menu and I didn't ask so shame on me but that kind of made my decision to not come back again. The food is ok and that kind of gouging for a drink in a takeout / counter service locale is not. Budget $20 per person. read more

Stopped in for a second time because my first visit a while back was great. It just wasn't the same quality and care as the first visit. The Big Finish was extremely greasy tasted like a mouth full of oil, the icing was separated with a layer of what looked like water sitting on top. My mahi description says pickled cabbage on blackened seared mahi, the mahi looked plain and the cabbage wasn't pickled still the taste was fine but not as advertised. The shrimp in the Bang Bang shrimp was cold to the touch. The flavors are there they just need to work on consistency if this was my first visit I wouldn't have come back for a second. read more

I am so sad because my meal here was delicious and they had some great veggie options but I can't go back because I had an allergic reaction and though I reached out for an ingredient list I was only given the list of items on their menu and the way they list there ingredients for that not the actual ingredients that would have given me any info on allergens so I am afraid to go back since I ordered multiple things but don't know what exactly I reacted to. I got my food to go and everything tasted great! If you don't have to worry about allergies or need specifics on their menu items I would still totally recommend the food. read more

I personally didn't love the boas that I got but they do stuff them full. The yenta has a super strong flavor of mustard only. It's dripping in mustard and the cabbage slaw also tastes like mustard. The pastrami beef doesn't taste seasoned. The lil bao and sticky chicky was ok nothing I really have note worthy. Personally not something I would get again. Love this spot! Has become a pretty regular lunch spot for my co-workers and I. The flavors of everything I've gotten from here are never lacking, and the portions for everything are generous. The crispy chick and the prime time are my go to. Also have tried the crispy chicken bowl with noodles which was great and a ton of food. I just didn't use the side of teriyaki that came with it. Taro chips with the Asian mustard aioli and spicy crunchy cucumbers are so good. Ambiance is clean and quiet. The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is for the service. Not awful, but I have an allergy to pineapple and had called to see if their teriyaki had pineapple in it (because a lot of teriyaki does) and the woman who took the called seemed very short and answered with a quick "I don't know" so I asked if anyone else would know (the people cooking) and she said "I don't know, I don't think so". So I just tried to avoid ordering stuff with it since she didn't offer anyone else to speak to, and I was never given a straight answer. I don't know if she was busy, or what but I really enjoy this place and would love to try more, but if you're not going to take the time or have the patience to offer additional help to a question about an allergy, that's not cool. read more

The short rib and sticky chicky are my favorite. I love the crispiness of Brussels sprouts. I hope they add a bbq pulled pork one to the menu. The taro chip bag is only 1/4 full. I would have expected it to be more full. There is only 1 dessert choice, which leaves me wanting more from the dessert menu. The order was ready at the time promised. read more

The menu looked appetizing. However, the actual food seemed and tasted like Indian food inside a Chinese bun. My kids and I didn't like the buns at all and dared each other to finish it. Not what we expected at all. Service was okay. When we went, not recently tho, no other customers in the restaurant and it was more of a takeout place. Clean. Inviting. Friendly. Went in to grab a lunch with the family. Was immediately hit with an overwhelming cigar smell. The restaurant is directly next to a cigar shop where people go to smoke and they must share the same ventilation system. The restaurant is aware of the smell because they have an electric scent machine at the counter and the air is blasting. It smelled like someone was blowing smoke in my face and I knew I wouldn't enjoy the taste of my food so I didn't order anything. My son ordered one bun only. The air was blasting so hard to help with the smell that our napkins were flying everywhere. We left and now my clothes smell like cigar. Won't be going back. read more

Ordered through Uber Eats. Got the threesome Bao Bun of Sticky Chicky, Prime Time, and Bang Bang. The Sticky Chicky was the best - nice piece of chicken and sticky sauce. The Prime Time was like a McD's cheeseburger on a bao bun - dry tasteless meat and cheese with a slice of pickle., no red onion, no unami aoili. The Bang Bang wasn't good - absolutely no flavor, just fried shrimp and some lettuce and jalapeño. The advertised pickled slaw was shredded lettuce. I also ordered the taro chips and brussel sprouts. The taro chips are with "asian mustard aioli and sweet chili dipping sauces". No sauce was included in the order. The receipt said "no add sauce". In ordering, there is no place to order one or the other or both sauces. It says it comes with both sauces. So why didn't I get any?!? The taro chips themselves were good and well salted. The brussel sprouts were charred but hard and crunchy. Disappointing. read more
