This is our friday night take out restaurant since they opened a couple of years ago.Their food ( chinese, japanese/ sushi) has been consistently excellent. My favorite is the house wonton soup that has seafood, meats and veggies in addition to the typical wontons. Other family favorites are every kinds of sushi rolls and edemame. I have been to Vee Koo Berwyn many times, last week was bad greasy spring rolls, doughy steamed veg dumpling, tuff as leather ribs. Just placed a take away order(first time) hope the General Taos Shrimp is as good as it usually is. The first call I was placed on hold only to be hung up on several minutes later, called back... yes I get it its valentines day and we are too tired to go out. Great for BYOB dine-in or take-out. Probably my favorite Asian cuisine in the area. Both the sushi and chinese entrees are excellent.

In a strip of not much happening, we came upon Veekoo today looking for sushi. Great find. The place is very pretty and seemed exceptionally clean. Our server, Sam, was very attentive and didn't seem the least bit put out about our need to be gluten-free. He advised off all our options, brought out gluten free soy sauce, and was just overall very accommodating. If you are gluten-free, you know that doesn't happen often! We shared the lettuce wrap app for two, which would make a great lunch entrée as well. We had miso soup (a little saltier than we are used to) and spring rolls which were perfectly crispy. My daughter had the Santa specialty wrap which was beautiful and she said it was delicious. I had the veggie Panang curry, which came out with tofu (my bad) and they graciously removed the tofu and added a few more veggies. It was really good and I ate the remaining curry with a spoon! We love the food at Veekoo. Whether we dine in or take out we are never disappointed. We love asain food but often with take out you dont get the freshest tasting meats and often shrimp will be small and not fresh. That is not the case at Veekoo. I regularly get shrimp and broccoli and am never disappointed. Their pork steamed dumplings are very good - fresh tasting and a favorite for us! read more

I was looking for a new Chinese takeout place and a friend recommended. In my opinion this is Very good American Chinese food. I used to be a huge fan of another Wayne Chinese establishment but when the quality started to go down I looked elsewhere. I got eggs rolls and they were a bit bland but fresh. I got the shrimp with vegetables in brown sauce and it was very fresh and flavorful! Only carrots and broccoli included and a small white rice. I wish they had more vegetables (snow peas, water chestnuts, etc) but it was still good! The takeout was quick and efficient! Will be going back! read more

The Berwyn locals seem to really like this Chinese restaurant. I think it's above average - better than the typical strip mall Chinese restaurant - but certainly not spectacular. That's just fine with me, however, given the price point. In my view, every local area needs a go-to Chinese restaurant when the craving for Chi hits you, but you don't want to pay an arm and a leg for the higher end variety such as Nectar. Note: the restaurant is very clean (important given the health violation at another Main Line Chinese restaurant). read more

Food really good at this newer place in Berwyn. Try the Three Tangerine Delicacies and Happy Family. Both were very tasty and with a lot of food. I asked for mine to be "less spicy" and they got it right. Not too hot but just right. Definitely going back here again. read more

The food here is decent overall. Dumplings are very good as well as the beef chow fun. I would advise anyone considering takeout from Veekoo to plan way in advance. Despite calling ahead and being told my food would be ready in 25-30 minutes it took over an hour to get my food. They're were flippant and non responsive about the delay. They are always very prompt with take out orders. Sushi is fresh and delicious! The lunch specials are a good value. Only complaint is General Tao chicken is always soggy. It comes with steamed broccoli which is nice. read more

Staff here is awesome and the food is consistently good. Lots of interesting dishes that I have never seen on another Chinese menu like pineapple fried rice with shrimp and chicken, or a very tasty Mongolian lamb. Sushi is very good quality and great value. read more

My family and I dined at Veekoo tonight. Recently my sister was diagnosed with a moderate allergy to gluten. When ordering her food she made sure to note that she had the allergy and asked that her food be made gluten free with gluten free soy sauce. When our food arrived we all dived right in and shortly she noticed that her sushi had a crunch like there was tempura mixed in. My mom tried it and sure enough there was. Within minutes my sister had bright red hives all over her neck. We called the waitress over and asked her if she had made sure that the sushi was made gluten free and she seemed confused. Turns out she didn't really understand what it meant and never relayed the allergy any of the chefs and or managers. After the food was returned the manager came out to apologize. We tried to explain the severity of the situation. That in this case my sister would be uncomfortable but she would live but someone else with an allergy might not have been so lucky. The manager although apologetic didn't seem too worried. I felt like the situation was treated the same way a manager would treat a customer that had been served an over cooked meal. I would not advice anyone who has an allergy to eat there. I'm really disappointed that they don't take things like this seriously because like I said to the manager someone could really get hurt. read more

Veekoo in Royersford has been our favorite restaurant since it opened. Excellent food and service plus warm greetings from owner Shelly Li and the staff are what I have loved and come to expect. When Shelly and her husband opened this second location in Berwyn I was anxious to try it out and I was not disappointed. Although other restaurants in this location have not worked. Veekoo is completely new with new staff and delicious food. Always fresh ingredients, well seasoned to taste, and small batch cooking continue in this location. While many of these early reviewers did not take into account that the restuarant was new, at almost six months I found Veekoo humming! My friend and I had wonderful Tangerine Three Delicacies as well as Basil Chicken and some very fresh sushi to start. Glad to share this gem south of 422! read more

I love the atmosphere and the food is really good quality and delicious. The service is friendly and very attentive. I am a little disappointed in the pricing though. It was great that they had lunchtime $8.99 meals that include a lot of food at that reasonable price. But I ordered a side of broccoli for my two kids. I just meant a small order which I thought was clear and they brought them out a huge platter of broccoli. When the bill came, it was $12. I thought that was a little deceptive and I felt like they should have mentioned the price. I was glad my kids got veggies so I didn't complain and now will know for next time. Also I asked if they could have a side of white rice. Again, we were ordering a lot so I felt like that could be included especially since we were going to be paying $12 for broccoli. They charged $3 for a tiny bowl of white rice. Also surprised that the wonton soup had only two wontons in it! Not sure how much it cost but thats not right. The food is great though and always hot. All in all, I will be back but I will order more carefully. Definitely cant afford to come all the time. The bill was $60 for lunch for myself and two little boys which included a tip. Wow. We went to a concert at St Monica's church Sunday and went on line to find a restaurant. From NJ we didn't know the neiborhood. We love any Asian food and Veekoo got 4 stars and was a BYO---what else do you need?! Everything was delicious, the tuna pizza a must. This review is about the Berwyn location. I was there for dinner with a friend last evening and had little expectations about the place except that it was conveniently located for both of us to meet and have a pleasant dinner. When I got there, I was very pleasantly surprised by the decor, which is lovely, and also by the quality of the food, which was great. We had the King Crab miso soup, the Yellow Dragon roll, chinese eggplant and steamed sea bass. All were exceptional. The miso soup was very flavorful, and the sushi was fresh and very well made. The sea bass was fresh, delicious and melted in my mouth. Love the eggplant dish as well. The atmosphere is slightly upscale for an asian restaurant, so you can bring a bottle of wine and make it a special night out, though prices are relatively reasonable. Service was a little slow in the beginning, but did pick up through the evening, and overall, was attentive. I'd rate this one of the better asian offerings in the area and would highly recommend it. read more
