The pharmacists here are welcoming, patient and are very helpful, over the phone and in person. Valley Drug was recommended by a Vet internist and was referred by SouthPaw Vet. These drs had my dog on antibiotics for over 30days !! As a result of this pharmacy's feedback, I found another Vet who saw no reason to continue the antibiotics and the 50 day long (!) Steroids. Well following up on the staff....I responded to the text for an automatic refill and got back " we no longer compound troche." So I asked my patient to call and speak to the pharmacist who didn't know what she was talking about. OF COURSE they compound troches and there was no problem. Then I get a text saying the messages are automated and that is why I shouldn't have gotten the text. Well, again, VD if you don't understand the damage your front office staff is doing to your business, you deserve them. Have taken my prescription to another compounding pharmacy near Cedars, LA Compouding and will suggest any of my patients who still use this pharmacy to do the same. I don't write negative reviews lightly, I understand how they can affect someone's hard work and livelihood. But this one is warranted- my dog has been suffering for 2 days because of their lack of organization. I called vdcrx on Tuesday (today is now Friday). I had gotten my dog's medication from them before. They confirmed my account & previous medication & told me to email them my prescription refill from my vet. I emailed them & a different woman replied that I didn't have an account. I emailed & called them back frantically because this medication was needed ASAP- my dog would suffer without it & unfortunately many pharmacies don't carry or compound it. I left 3 voicemails and 2 emails well before closing & they never got back to me. I called and emailed the next day before they opened. When they got back to me, they said they received my email but that now- it wasn't a correct written prescription. I called my vet, who then called this pharmacy & they confirmed the written prescription was fine & that I needed to call them back again in order to get it filled. (So now this is Wednesday morning). I call back and let them know this is urgent- they had already wasted a day by mistakenly telling me I didn't have a prescription. They then told me it wouldn't be ready until 2:30 the next day (Thursday). I say ok because it is a difficult medication to get & it was the first pharmacy that said they could fill it. I drive across the valley on Thursday at 3:30 to go get it. I get there & they frantically look for it and then tell me someone was supposed to call me- they didn't have the ingredients for my dog's prescription & they don't know when they would. I told them they didn't call and they said they know and that was their mistake. So now I had no time to find another pharmacy who could rush it that day because it was the end of the day. My dog has now been suffering for 2 days. Your employees should be ashamed of themselves. How you can give someone the run around for 2 days, tell them their medication would be ready the next afternoon, & then say oops we forgot to call we don't have it is sickening. Do not rely on this pharmacy. They are a mess. I should mention they were frantically looking for the person helped before me's medication as well. If these are new employees- they need to be fired. read more

This pharmacy is permanently closing on Sept 30. There ended up being one nice pharmacist that always showed interest in our rescue. I hope she is able to find work quickly. Once we were given medication we didn't order. Luckily, the heart meds hadn't run out yet or that would have been bad. VDCrx only gave me a day heads up, because I just happened to need a new prescription. They didn't tell ANY customer in advance. I'm writing this for my cat. Ever since you closed and recommended MixLab, my cat has hated her medications. She starts salivating and making a squinty face because the mixlab compounding liquid is awful. Chewy is also no better. She's really sad you closed for whatever reason. Two weeks ago this pharmacy compounded my dogs medication 10 times the prescribed dose!! My dog was hospitalized for 6 days and suffered non stop seizures . It was almodipine a blood pressure medication. Our bet bill is over $10,000 and my dog is now blind. I came to this pharmacy a few years ago to pick up medication for my bunny. Recently, my vet prescribed some Thyroid medication for my elderly kitty. She said she would have the Pharmacy fill it, and they would contact me. The next day I received a call from Valley Drug and Compounding. The Pharmacist was genuinely nice. She explained everything to me and mentioned that since the medication was a cream that needed to be rubbed on his inner ear I would need to wear gloves to avoid contact with my skin. Two days later the medication arrived. It came in a cute box addressed to my kitty. Inside was a sweet note for my baby boy in addition to a toy. An extra special added touch that I really appreciated. There was also another package with pink rubber things. I wasn't sure what they were and said to my kitty, "Look Martini, they sent you kitty condoms." LOL! They were actually finger covers so I could apply his medicine. Everyone here is professional and courteous. They contact you when it's time for a refill and are happy to answer any questions. It's comforting to know that my fur baby's health is in good hands. I can see how some people may feel the staff can be snippy. One of them does tend to interrupt when I'm talking. However, I don't pay these people to coddle my fragile ego. I pay them to correctly fill my pet prescriptions and in that they never fail. It's a shame the owner and the horrible, pompous manager named Alina ran this business into the ground. Since ownership changed around 2018, subtle, annoying changes started happening. However, the last two years have not been good at all. Alina is verbally abusive and nasty, she has absolutely no business dealing with people. Many stupid mistakes were made this year. There were some nice people working there over the years, but honestly, the owner did a huge disservice to customers by not managing her business, as she was barely there. Been using Valley Drug for several years - we rescued an elderly cat and about 3 years ago he started needing some thyroid medicine. My vet recommended Valley Drug since my cat wouldn't eat pills - we needed an ear cream and Valley Drug also deliver to our house - so it always worked very well for us - so convenient! When you first get the prescription, there's an extra fee for making the "compound" dose bc of the way they have to alter the dosing to make the cream from the pill- but it was a one time charge and was very reasonable. In fact, all our refills here have been reasonable. All the staff I've ever spoken to on the phone have been wonderful and I always received my pet's medicine in a day or two - super quick! And the staff here are really on top of things! They've even called me ahead of time asking if I need a refill when I've forgotten haha! They beat me to it! Very impressed! And I love how they always include a sweet little play toy for my fur baby I'm every box! They include detailed instructions with the medications, as well as all the drug info and refill instructions. The box is well sealed and secure - never had any issues. Sadly, we lost our sweet senior kitty a couple of weeks ago. We won't need the medicine any more, but if we ever need any in the future, we will definitely use Valley Drug again. VERY disappointed with the service. Now I am out of my prescription on a Friday and it requires doctor refill authorization. DO NOT go here! I waited almost a whole week, several calls from me and my vet waiting for life sustaining meds for my very sick dog and they kept giving me the run around and delaying. Finally I found out that they can't even get the meds that I need for my pet because it is a controlled substance and they don't even have the ability to sell them!!! WHY not tell me that in the first place?! The staff here doesn't care about your pets, they just rush you off the phone and when you have questions they give you very basic answers. The customer service whenever I call is really BAD, every time I've called to request a medication refill I get a lot of attitude. It comes off as if I'm bothering them or inconveniencing them to reach out to my pet's vet for the refill approval or to put in a refill for my pet. I haven't experienced attitude from any of the male staff, it's always the females who have attitude over the phone. The only name I can remember at this time of who I spoke to over the phone recently who was rude is Cici. But, it's not just Cici, they have consistently bad customer service over the phone. I called the other day to request a med refill for my pet & like always got someone on the phone who was really abrasive, rude, & who quickly hung up on me before I could even say goodbye. I called this pharmacy on Monday and asked if they had Intrafungal oral solution for my kitten's ringworm in stock and was told yes. As requested, I sent an email with a picture of the Rx. Then I called on Tuesday and was told they did not have the Intrafungal but it would be delivered on Wednesday. Then I called on Wednesday and was told they did not have the Rx but it would be delivered on Thursday. I was also told they would call or text me when the Rx was ready. I did not receive a call or text on Thursday, so I called at 5 PM and was told by the pharmacist that my Rx was ready so I could pick it up but they close at 6 PM so I drove in the rush hour traffic and made it just before they closed. When I got to the pharmacy and asked why nobody called me they said "sorry it was very busy today". I WILL NEVER USE THIS PHARMACY AGAIN! I will use Chewy or GoodRxforpets.com or other online pet pharmacies. The online pharmacies are all less expensive than VDCrx and are more reliable. read more

I get that she is busy, so why not stop answering the phone and let one of the other employees take phone calls so she can do other things. So we have started to come here since my 14 year old Maltese got diagnosed with heart disease. My girl's cardiologist has recommended a liquid compound BP medication for her. Initially, the veterinary clinic we go to made her BP medication until my girl suffered adverse reactions and I realized the medication was likely the cause. So they sent her RX to this pharmacy and ever since Valley Drug compounded her medication everything has been great! The very few times I've come in here or sent my son to pick up my girl's medication, the staff has always been very welcoming and helpful. They call me when my girl's medication is ready and the pharmacists here are readily available and super helpful when I have questions. Being immunocompromised in a pandemic and having to severely limit my exposures, I truly appreciate all the safety measures this pharmacy takes in making costumers feel safe as well so I don't have any issues running in to pick up my dog's medication if needed. Highly recommend this pharmacy because their customer service and client care has been pleasureably consistent. The gals up front are always pleasant and answer my calls with a friendly tone. First time walking into this place and apparently I was invisible or too brown. Multiple workers literally just stared at me as if I were a man of color trying to sit in the front where I don't belong. I was finally helped by the young lady in the front only for her to just cut me off. All ONE person had to do was tell me to wait to be helped. I didn't know if they had a sign in system or who to go to. But when you have approximately ten people working while they simply stare at you as if you're an anomaly, something has got to be wrong. Then to top it off, as a white man walks in, he gets the warm greeting with a smile. It's like walking into segregation of the 1950's in this place. The only reason I even continued with the prescription is because an older white gentleman helped me and was very kind and courteous. Hopefully tomorrow will be better when I pick up my dog's prescription. Went in today to pick up the prescription. When I walked in, the nice older gentlemen greeted me and helped me. As I started to answer his question, the thicker curly haired receptionist tried to jump in and help with her stern attitude. I just ignored her, got what I needed, and walked out. I have no idea why the people (with the exception of the older gentleman) act like their sh** don't stink. From the tall Asian dude working in the back to the thick receptionist, this place exemplifies some of the worst traits in people. Avoid it like the plague. read more

They always pick up the phone, which is so rare with most "human pharmacies" today and if you need to speak with a pharmacist, they are always willing to help.
